This was a great place to stay for a recent reunion with friends. Easy location by car to downtown Honolulu or drive to the north shore. Scott was very accommodating with a scheduling mix up on our part, and was communicative when we had questions or wanted to know where the nearest stores were. Also, this house was the most well appointed for cooking and other needs of any home I have rented! We needed nothing other than the groceries! Would definitely recommend.

Scott's home was perfect for our party of 4 adults. It is beautifully decorated and had all the amenities of home. We loved the location. Scott is a great host!

We were there over the 4th of July. Our family had rented another house across the street and so this was the secondary house. It worked great! The home was “fancy” (that’s what my husband said!). Really beautiful kitchen and bedrooms. My two adult brothers and partners did great there!
Only two complaints: 1. We went to Safeway and got a bunch of stuff to set them up (coffee, cream, some breakfast stuff) and I think your cleaning crew was there when we dropped it off for them, so the coffee was taken by the cleaning crew. I think it was an honest mistake and they thought it was from previous tenant? But ya know, coffee!!!! Kind of a bummer.
2. There was one or two times when the owner had a bunch of cars filling the driveway. Made it a little awkward to park. They parked down by our house. This might have been on the 4th of July.
That’s it! Lovely home!

We had a great stay at this property! The place was perfect for our family of 6 (4 adults and two kids). The location was great as our home base while we toured the island. The host was wonderful and available for any questions we had. I highly recommend this location and hope to come back one day too!

The house is very spacious and well decorated, sparkle clean, feels luxurious. The location is very good, not too far from downtown Honolulu, Pearl Harbor, Diamond Head and Hanauma Bay. There's also Costco and Safeway nearby.
The host Scott is a great guy!. We arrived after dark and were circling around looking for the house; he came out waved us down and greeted us. Such hospitality!
There's a big kitchen, big bedrooms, big comfortable living room, windows on three sides.
The house also provides many beach equipment; we used the snorkels and fins in Hanauma Bay, and it was fun!
Overall we enjoyed our stay very much. A few minor things to mention: there were a few stray tiny ants in the middle bathroom floors, but they never got to the kitchen. Also the wall to host's main house is not totally sound-proof, but all is quite before bedtime. So they did not affect our stay. We would definitely come back if we have chance in the future.

Our family stayed here and it was an excellent choice. Close to everything the South Island has to offer as well as Costco and Safeway. Kitchen is very well stocked for cooking including a rice cooker. Walking distance to several parks for kids to play. Owner is very friendly with a beautifully manicured yard. Highly recommend!

Scott has truly created a comfortable tropical oasis without overlooking a single detail. The beds were very comfortable and we slept well being able to control the a/c in each room. The gourmet kitchen was a cooks dream! There are all sizes of pots, pans, measuring cups, bowls, utensils, etc! I especially appreciated the variety of spices and thoughtfulness behind freezer ice packs and the use of a cooler for our days at the beach. Speaking of the beach, we had beach towels, chairs, boogie boards to use for our days at the beach! Scott was very communicative, helpful with local recommendations for dining and activities, and welcoming--would suggest anyone considering to book to pull the trigger, you won't be disappointed.

The house was clean and beautiful. We loved the location and the view. It was nice to have beach gear. We also liked that there were restaurants, stores, beaches, and hikes so close by.

This was a great property for our party of 4 to stay at. Scott was a great host and was responsive and easy to communicate with. We also made great use of the beach amenities he provided (chairs, towels, umbrella, cooler, snorkeling gear, and boogie boards). The beds were comfortable and there was no shortage of hot water in the showers. We also found the location to be extremely convenient to local shopping as well as to the highways. All in all, this home away from home made our visit to Hawaii all the more enjoyable!

Very pleased with our experience in Hawaii Kai. The unit itself is clean and comfortable, easily accommodating a family of 5 (albeit with one kid sleeping in pullout in LR and another in a pullout at top of stairs). Location is convenient- very close to Koko Head and Hanauma Bay. Several restaurants, inc. Kona Brewing Co., are less than a mile away. Get to Downtown Honolulu in 20 minutes or so (except during rush hour). Scott, the owner, is very accommodating and helpful with local recommendations. Will definitely stay there again on our next trip to Oahu.

Really nice home located in quiet Hawaii Kai. Very airy and open. Kitchen really well stocked with anything you might need to cook. Also has everything you would need for a day at the beach (towels, chairs, umbrella etc) Close to Costco, market, and some restaurants but not walkable. Parking available. Perfect for two couples. No pool or outside area so probably not ideal for children. Scott (the owner) is super nice and readily available if you have any questions or need anything

Property was exactly as advertised, clean and comfortable. Well-appointed and with some extras thrown in. The hosts (Scott and his wife) were kind, and my only regret is that we weren’t able to say goodbye in person and thank them.

This was our third time staying at this property. We love coming back. Property owner is great, great location, near Costco, Safeway and good restaurants. Away from all the tourists. Near Hanauma Bay, and great trails, including the koko crater stairs. Will definitely return

My family and I were satisfied with Scott’s home. It was enough space for a family of 5. We stayed there for 10 days. The house was clean and well kept. The A/C was comforting during the hot days & nights. Everything we needed for the stay was all provided.
All the beach necessities that was provided came in handy with the amount of beach time we had. The coolers, umbrellas, beach chairs, boogie boards and towels were all put to good use.
Scott was close by if we needed anything. All in all we were comfortable in the home with no issues.
Plus side 7/11 is a 3 min walk. If you know about 7/11 in Hi. Then you know.
My family and I will be coming back. Thanks again Scott!

Our family of 4 (including 2 teenagers) had a terrific 6-night stay at this spacious 2 BR 2BA home in the safe and beautiful Hawaii Kai neighborhood. There is a good-sized LR with dining area and space to work on a laptop. The kitchen is fully equipped with everything you need to prepare meals. The bedrooms are roomy with beds that are comfortably firm. The LR sofa has a full-size pullout bed. The entire space is full of light and clean with wonderful Hawaiian touches. While the space is connected to the owner’s residence, it feels like it’s your own place. And, the owner is always available to answer any and all questions. It’s just 15 minutes to Waikiki and 3 minutes to shopping and good restaurants. The space also comes with a full complement of beach accessories, i.e., towels, chairs, mats, umbrella, sets of snorkeling gear, and boogie boards. It has far more than any hotel would have to offer in every sense. We loved it and would stay there again. We would give the physical characteristics and amenities, location, owner availability, and overall experience the highest marks!

This home away from home is accurately described as immaculate & spacious. It has a wonderful kitchen and there is beautiful art throughout the home located at the base of a crater. We saw green parrots and egrets on our walks around the neighborhood. Driving the south shore of the island is incredible. Thank you for a relaxing vacation😃

I worried that the space was going to be too small for five of us, but it was roomy and very nice! Really attractive too. Having grown up in Manoa Valley, Hawaii Kai always felt so far away, but this experience showed how convenient it is, 15 minutes into town, and close access to Makapu'u and Waimanalo.

Our adult son and his wife joined my husband and myself for an adventurous and entertaining stay.
The space was very well equipped with personal essentials, and meeting our cooking and entertaining needs. Scott provided us with excellent information about the island and was attentive in assisting us with having a most enjoyable stay.
The property is beautiful and within walking distance for groceries and shopping. A vehicle is required to go to a beach that is appropriate for swimming, however there is a beach for boat and jet ski launches nearby.
Thank you again Scott for your attentiveness. I would definately recommend your place!

Loved the house. Great location - near everything but much nicer location than downtown Honolulu in my opinion. Homeowner is helpful and prompt, but gives you space. Very happy with our choice!

When the idea for VRBO and Air B&B were being toyed with, Scott's place must be what they had in mind. Scott has a beautiful home off a main street right in the heart of Hawaii Kai, minutes from shopping, dining, beaches, trails, pretty much anything you would come to Hawaii for. The rental is a large "home" basically build above his garage; you park at the door, walk up stairs to a beautiful place, fully equipped with everything, amazing shower, water hot within 2 seconds, comfortable lounging area, can't say enough good things about it. Scott is around and accessible if you want him. Bed mattress is a little soft if you aren't a fan of that... caution, but wow - what a place, worth the money, will be returning.....

We had such a great stay in Hawaii Kai. The home was so well equipped - it had everything we needed and more. From a storage closet full of beach stuff to extra spices in the cabinets, we had everything we needed to sit back, relax, and explore the island. The home looks just like the pictures and was very comfortable to live in. Scott was a wonderful host making sure we had everything we needed while giving us the privacy we wanted. I would definitely return here on our next trip to Oahu.

Our stay was amazing, this home is cared for and loved. The attention to detail and and thoughtfulness that has gone into every comfort made our visit relaxing and feeling like we were home. Scott is phenomenal! He’s welcoming and knowledgeable, we couldn’t have imagined a better host and loved working with him start to finish. We would highly recommend him and his home for anyone wishing to visit!

We were a group of 5 adults staying at Scott’s beautify property. The home was much larger than I expected, bright with natural lighting, clean, nicely decorated and the location was great! We purposely didn’t want to be in crowded areas and this was the perfect spot. It was quiet l, well equipped in the kitchen and beach gear (chairs, snorkels, coolers, towels). Scott greeted us when we arrived and gave us great tips ok where to go. We would definitely stay here again and would recommend to others! Thanks, Scott!

We can't say enough good things about the property and owner! The pictures didn't do justice to just how beautiful the decor and amenities were. If you're looking for a different experience from Waikiki, this location is right next to Huanama Bay and Koko head trail and offers a quieter Oahu experience. We would definitely book here again!

Clean and relaxing
The rental was very clean, quiet, and nicely decorated. Great AC and comfortable bed and seating. The washer and dryer and clothesline were highly convenient. The location is close to Koko Crater garden. Also not far from the thick of Honolulu and not far from Kailua. Scott was very friendly. Would recommend this spot

Spacious and very well appointed.
We had a very good experience renting from Scott. The rental portion of the house adjoins his home and has had a beautiful update with attention to every detail. Also stocked with beach gear and cooler bag that came in handy.
To my embarrassment -and Scotts credit-we lost track of time and overstayed a night, which he allowed. Needless to say he gets our enthusiastic thumbs up!

Beautiful ambiance in spotless exceptional home
Where do I begin? We were a family of 5 with 3 teenagers. From the moment we pulled into the private driveway, we knew this would be a positive vacation experience outside of the hustle and bustle of Waikiki. The home is spotless with a high end caliber feel. There are 2 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms; with additional beds for 4 more people if you wanted to maximize every space. We had a party of 5 and it felt spacious and comfortable. The appliances are new and quality of bedding was high end. The home had a new A/C system which is a plus and more unusual for island homes. This is a quiet neighborhood - close to local shops, restaurants, hiking trails and Sandy Beach. It’s an ideal location if you want to work remotely (the wifi was strong with no inconsistencies in connection). We have stayed in several rental homes in various Oahu neighborhoods and this is up there with the top ones. The owner made us feel welcome and was reachable at any time but provided privacy throughout our stay. We plan on returning to this property for a longer stay next time. We loved the neighborhood, home and overall experience.
