About this apartment rental
Stay in downtown Glenwood Springs just steps from Glenwood's best restaurants, nearly every activity is within easy walking distance. This 1500 sq ft, 2 bedroom unit built in the late 1800's is located upstairs in what was once the Palace Hotel. It has been completely renovated with some of the old things still in tact. Look at the doors; they are the original ones from the 1890's with the room numbers still on them. Doc Holiday is rumored to have stayed here. If you are coming from the Front Range consider taking Amtrak as the train station is only 2 blocks from the Watersweeper Loft. No hassles with Glenwood Canyon.
Going up the stairs you will find yourself on a great, large deck with a stone top table ,firepit and BBQ grill. Go thru the door into the enclosed sun porch and sitting area. Enter the main door and you are in the old hotel hallway. On the left is western bedroom with a queen bed. On the right is the master bedroom with a king bed occupying what was once two hotel rooms. Next is the bath and laundry. There is a Soaking tub and vanity in one room and a shower and vanity in another room. In the front you will find a complete kitchen with everything you could need and the dining room-living room area to complete the wonderful Loft with a great blend of old and new. The unit is registered with the City of Glenwood Springs and is in compliance with the short term rental regulations. Glenwood Springs Permit #18-047

I do not like to leave negative reviews but in this case we were mislead. This listing is for 2 bedrooms 2 bathrooms. The definition of a bathroom always includes a toilet regardless of whether there is a shower or tub.
The set up in this unit is:
**1 "bathroom"(washer/dryer, toilet in a "closet", sink in one room and an additional room with a sink and a jetted tub.
**1 washroom with a sink and shower
So only1 toilet and 1 shower to share for 4 of us. While the 1 shower is no big deal, the 1 toilet is awkward and not what we paid for. I would never have rented this unit had I known it only had 1 toilet.
The unit is in a GREAT location right on the main street with lots of great places to walk. We did not have any noise issues and the living/kitchen areas are comfortable and clean.
The "back bedroom" is well lit but hot so the guests in that room had to leave their door open when sleeping even with the air conditioning on high.
The "front bedroom" is comfortable-ish. We had to unscrew the overhead bulbs bc the fan is on the same switch and it was too hot without the fan on leaving the room really dark. The closet door another guest earlier said was off its rail was still off its rail. The bed is super soft.
Back porch is lovely but so hot in the afternoon its not useable.Outisde stairs needs a good cleaning/sweep. The bottom step on the top set of stairs is not attached-not safe.
Overall a cute place that needs some love & a new listing of:
"2 bed, 1 bath, 1 washroom"

Perfectly located in heart of all downtown activity with great shopping, restaurants and entertainment. Spacious with great views off back porch area. Would definitely rent again!!

The unit was super convenient because it was in the downtown area with easy walks to the hot springs pool, restaurants, shops, and playgrounds. The beds were very comfortable and the kitchen well stocked. Make sure you understand there is only one toilet which you share but there are 3 bathroom sinks. The a/c is pretty good and cooled the bedrooms down some before we went to bed. Even with the traffic and bands playing, we were not bothered by this noise at night. Great unit!

Great little loft downtown!

The location is outstanding for restaurants, walking to the hot springs, etc. A few minor improvements would make things much easier. Instructions for operating the AC would be nice as our first night was quite hot until we figured this out. Also, there was only 1 roll of toilet paper in the entire unit, there was no soap to clean dishes and no shampoo or soap in the bathrooms. All minor things but I found myself running to the grocery store at 10:30 to get more TP and other small household items that all previous VRBO rentals have stocked.

The check-in was easy and seamless. Having dedicated parking was fantastic! You could not ask for a better location. In the heart of the old town area with lots of restaurants, coffee, and drinks readily available. Very close to the Amtrak station. Easy walking distance to the Hot Springs. The kitchen was well appointed, and it was very roomy with good privacy for people. The balcony was fantastic to sit outside and sitting in the living room, watching the main street action and listening to the music outside really is a home run! We will definitely be back.

Overall great stay. Cute little place and a great location! Master door doesn’t really close I would stay with family but not another couple. Didn’t know about the sunlight in the room where the kids stayed and it made it hard to sleep. Also the swamp cooler air conditioner wasn’t what I was expecting. Thanks for a great stay :)

We enjoyed our stay. Will book again.

Cute place right on the main street near restaurants and shops. Loved the walkability! Dedicated parking space in back near the entrance. Stocked with good cookware and dishes. Really nice dining room table and chairs. Comfortable beds with clean linens. Steep old steps to entrance - hold onto the railing. Unusual setup of 3 bathroom sink areas and one toilet; step up to shower a bit sketchy, some maintenance needed (light switch in bathroom had broken button so had to poke a tiny part with your fingernail to turn on the light and bedroom closet door off the hinges), but owner is planning renovation and that will be fixed. Met the owner working in a shop downstairs - very friendly.

A great property right downtown…we could walk to awesome restaurants and shops!
Can’t wait to go back!

We had such a great time. Great location, right in the middle of everything and easy walking distance to restaurants and shops. Clean and spacious, historical building. We will definitely stay here again!

Location was perfect to enjoy the town, close to shops and restaurants. The space was perfect with well equipped kitchen and patio. We used the washer and dryer which was nice. The Two bedrooms were comfortable. It is an old historic building which comes with its own charm. The biggest disappointing thing was it was listed as a 2 baths and the pictures showed portions of Two baths but only has one toilet area which was not enjoyable to share with another couple. Overall we enjoyed the stay and charm of the location.

We enjoyed our stay! Loved the old charm. Really great location, so centrally located. Just be ready to climb some stairs! Place was pretty clean, beds were super comfortable and kitchen was well equipped. Wish there had been laundry soap provided as washer/dryer were advertised. Just a pod or two would have saved us a store trip. Light on ‘extras’… so bring coffee, laundry soap and kleenex. Unfortunately, a few things broken too… bedroom door wouldn’t shut closed (hindered privacy), closet door wouldn’t open on one side, bed posts fell off both beds if touched. Could use a refresh I suppose. Unique bathroom situation, with only one toilet, but we made it work. Overall, we enjoyed the space and it was pretty great for our lil family staycation.

We loved our stay at this beautiful place! The location was perfect for walking to restaurants and shops. The apartment itself is as charming as it is comfortable, from furniture to a well stocked kitchen. We loved staying in this piece of history as the building started as the Palace Hotel in the late 1800s. Highly recommend!

Clean and well stocked. Comfortable beds.

Location and decor. Really enjoyed just being there. Owner is very responsive and caring.

Cozy historic property in the heart of Glenwood Springs. We loved being able to walk to most everything. It was very cute and clean. Be sure to bring your own shampoo and body wash, as it is not provided. The bathroom situation is a bit different with one toilet for the two bathrooms, but it worked fine for us.

Nicole & Scott are nice hosts.
Pros -
*Great location and felt safe.
*Nice dining and living rooms.
*Mostly well-equipped kitchen (I bought a toaster since adult kid lives for avocado toast), but plenty of baking sheets and stove top pans and variety of staples (no laundry detergent but that is 50/50 shot in most VRBOs).
*Nice BBQ grill & fire pit on deck
*Beds were not too soft nor too hard
*Well insulated condo so turned down heat to sleep in cool quiet bedrooms
*3 bathroom sinks (one toilet) plus shower and bathtub (no jets)
*Close to ski hill w/ snowmaking
Other
*Twenty plus steps/stairs up to condo (just be forewarned because of loading and unloading car). Stairs not slippery even though sleeted and froze.
*Parking is very tight. While spot is large, it is turn radius to get into spot that is very difficult. Would not want to park a Ford Expedition or a Chevy Yukon as I’m not sure it could be done. However, there would be alternative safe parking nearby that wouldn’t be that expensive or could even be free if don’t mind walking.
*For some reason I couldn’t get the outdoor trash compactor to unlock. I persisted and figured it out second day. (Note a picture or a mark on key with a T would help others.)
Most of the other things that reviewers brought to their attention were fixed. I did have a bit of a tough go in opening the new lockbox. That was because I am a novice at such things and found out that 3/4 of front comes down.

Our stay in Glenwood was perfect. The condo was immaculate and the location was absolutely wonderful! We will be back!!
Thank you!!

Had a winter blast in this quaint historic town. Stunning scenery and cozy quarters. Great little town with quirky fun places!

The place was amazing and everything worked out perfectly!!

Cute apartment located downtown and close to most restaurants and local shops.
There was an event venue on the roof of the next building and they played music pretty loud 2 nights. The events didn’t go super late so that was ok. The pictures make it seem as though there was 2 bathrooms but really there was only 1 toilet.
Overall a cute little place.
4.8
The location could not have been better for easy access to downtown activities. It was nicely furnished, clean, and the beds were comfortable. Great deck with views and a fire pit. The building is historic and there were a few quirks because of that, but the remodel was done well and the location is awesome. I would definitely recommend this place and will stay there again next time I'm in Glenwood Springs.

Overall good place if you like to be downtown. We walked from Amtrak and walked to restaurants. We took Ride Glenwood bus to Iron Mountain Hot Springs. We could not find a local grocery or convenience store. While we had a coffee maker, no coffee. The back steps and chairs on patio were filthy (as well as the hallway carpet). Not a good first impression. But the bathrooms and kitchen were clean and the bed comfortable. Best feature was the back deck. We enjoyed star gazing. Could not get the gas firepit to work. We did not call on this, but I would have loved a fire. This could be a 5 star if better stocked (like coffee, kleenex, laundry soap, bar soap), carpet cleaned or replaced, and stairs and patio swept.

It’s a true gem in a beautiful city. It was everything we needed and more. Thank you for sharing your property with us!

Great place to stay. Homey and close to everything. Love the fire pit and sunroom!

We enjoyed our stay in this eclectic property with history! Great location. You can walk all over town. Guests should be aware that while there is a bathroom with a tub and a sink and a bathroom with a shower and sink, there is one toilet within the laundry area with a bonus sink. We were family so it worked out but definitely good to know ahead of time.

Really enjoyed our trip to Glenwood Springs. This unit is in prime location. Walking to the hot springs and short drives to adventure park and hanging lake. You are right in downtown by the water so all restaurants are within 2 mins of leaving the apartment. The unit itself is updated in some ways and still has a charming appeal to it. We only received a half roll of paper towels and 1 garbage bag. There was no luck getting a hold of the property owner/manager despite our calls. The bathroom is also pretty dated and in separate rooms (shower is in one room with a sink....different room has laundry, toilet, and tub). Parking spot comes with the unit in the back, but not made for bigger car (we had a jeep gladiator and it was a job getting in and out when the car was parked next to us in the other spot). Also, note that while it was great to be right in downtown, we dealt with a significant number of homeless and beggers (especially from dinner time and later) under the overpass which is where all the restaurants are located. We ended up spending nights in the room playing cards.

Great central location. Walking distance to all of the downtown shops & activities. Love the history of this place & so happy owners decided to preserve as much of the past as they could. Clean & comfortable with lots of charm.

My friend and I really enjoyed our latest stay in Glenwood in this beautiful loft right in the heart of Glenwood, close to everything!
Place was very quiet despite facing Grand Ave. and so close to shops and restaurants. Place was neat and clean. Would definitely stay here again!
4.8
Great place to stay. The location is amazing; right in the middle of the restaurant area, but still very quiet at night. Bathroom is a little dated, but the owners will be updating it later this year. Note that while there are two bathrooms, there is only one toilet.
We would stay here again in a heartbeat!
4.8
The place was in the heart of downtown which is amazing. Place was tastefully decorated.
It lacked every single thing a VRBO stands for as a home away from home. No dish soap, no laundry soap, 4 towels for 4 people and no option to supply more. Had to go to the local Walmart to purchase toilet paper, towels, coffee and tide pods. For the cost we could have rented a hotel and had those amenities at the bare minimum coffee.
The 4th dimension shop was amazing and the Italian restaurant “underground” was fabulous.
Overall Glenwood Springs is a hit other than the lack of essentials at the VRBO.
Would have preferred communication with the homeowner. Sent messages through VRBO and tried to contact the house manager regarding extra bedding and towels and still no response.
Just sad for the price we paid.

The outdoor space was enjoyable in the evenings after the sun went down

This is getting 5 stars simply for the location. Located right above restaurants and shops, next to the river, you can walk everywhere in town. It’s also quiet. A few things to call out though, shampoo and body wash/soap weren’t provided which we hadn’t had at another rental (we are hosts as well), so just be sure to bring your own. The bathroom set up is interesting with one toilet, three sinks, 1 shower and 1 separate tub in diff rooms.
4.8
At the front door of apartment was 5 canisters of used oxygen tanks! Very strange! Called management and they said they were supposed to be removed after last guest. They never were so we stacked them neatly by stairs. Not a place to stay if you are not fit and able as getting out of shower was a 4in step and then the floor.
Having said that it is beautifully decorated and cozy.
Oh the back smaller bedroom has leaning lumpy matress.
King bed was great! Great access to restaurants and some shopping.

excellent place to stay. Right down town, everything in walking distance.

This condo is in a GREAT location! Close to all of the amazing restaurants...breakfast, lunch, dinner, cocktails...they are all right there. You can walk across the ped bridge and enjoy the Glenwood Hot Springs. Very cool property. We loved all of the historic touches, especially the room numbers on the doors. The bedrooms located at the back meant no traffic sounds while you slept. Check in was very streamlined. Great internet! We chose to eat out, rather than cook. But the kitchen includes everything you need to whip up your own meals. Great getaway location - we would definitely come back!
