Guests appreciated the spaciousness of the house, beautiful views, comfortable beds, and well-stocked amenities despite minor maintenance issues. A great place for large families to relax and enjoy a vacation.

This cabin is nice and has so much potential if owned by someone who cares. As previous reviewers in recent months have stated, this property needed cleaning. Upon arrival, my party found spiderwebs in nearly all interior doorways and stairwells that had to be cleaned by us. Even worse, there were mouse droppings throughout the kitchen. Upon notifying the owner of the issue, he said the cabin is in the woods and cobwebs can pop up overnight. He conveniently ignored the rodent issue. The next morning we asked him to call us as we found more mouse droppings on the kitchen counters along with a hole in an unopened bag of chips from a mouse chewing its way through. To make a long story short, he refused to call us for the duration of our stay even after numerous requests. After sending photos clearly showing the mouse droppings on the counters and the hole in the chip bag, he still refused to acknowledge a problem. He audaciously accused me of "trying to work the system for a discount" and insinuated that we might damage his property somehow because we were unhappy. The following night, a mouse came out from behind the fireplace in the living room while our party was sitting there. We took a video of the mouse and sent it to the owner who still refused to respond. We set out mouse traps and caught one of the mice. I sent photos of the mouse we caught to Victor. He never acknowledged the problem, called, or apologized for accusing me of lying. In short, renters BEWARE!!

The house fit our group great. There was plenty for the teenagers and kids to do in the game rooms while the adults relaxed by the fire. It was beautiful inside and out and had all the amenities that we needed. The drive up was a tad long but the scenery and many deer made it worth it. We can't wait to book it again!

The cabin was nice, but we did have bug issues. There were also holes that were in bottom of back doors from rot. This is a wonderful cabin, but it is need of an update to structure and furniture. We had a great stay and made the best of our time there but were overall disappointed in the state of the cabin.

I normally don’t leave reviews but wanted to for this property. We were so anxious about booking this property because of past reviews. I spoke to the owner a few times and he assured me things were good. This house did not disappoint. I consider myself to be picky, especially when it comes to cleanliness. Sure there were some cobwebs, but I would expect that in a house this size. We stayed in, cooked in, and played games. The indoor fireplace was awesome. We loved the rocking chairs in the living room. Kids loved the three-four play rooms. The house is huge. Plenty of room for everyone. Beds are comfy. 2 washers and dryers. Extra fridge in garage. Wish we would have known about usage of garage, would have brought corn hole 😉. We hope to stay here again.

Beautiful home. We enjoyed our stay. We did have to buy dish towels and dish rags as there were none. There weren’t enough towels to accommodate our large party. There were some spider wens o. The outside and on some of the light fixtures, but the house was huge and reaching fhwm is almost impossible. The beds were very comfortable and there were plenty of dishes, silverware, pots, pans, etc. we really enjoyed our stay and would stay again.

Try to make it out here as often as I can, the cabin is always great! Location, layout, and the views are all on-point.

On a scale of 1-10 it was a 9.5! This home was nearly perfect! The only issues we had was with the dishwasher and the front door auto lock and remote control BR lights/fans. People in one room turned lights on and off in another room without knowing. Loved the bunk room! Loved the whole house!

We stayed for a whole week with adults, kids and babies. The house was definitely big enough for all 15 of us. It isnt baby proof which we knew going up, so we just blocked the down stairs with a chair so the baby wouldnt accidentally fall down. The drive up directions from the host were amazing! Dont use GPS!! Cleanliness wise, there were a few things that didnt look like they were touched, but this is the woods, so if you bear in mind bugs and pollen are common, it was fine. We didnt plan on staying in the house all day, everyday anyways. Kitchen was super spacious with alot of utensils and pots. There is so much to do in town, but the drive down the mountain is about 15 minutes through gravel, winding mountain roads. So grab food and things in one trip in town! Also, in the summer weather, we didnt need 4x4 for the roads, but they are very steep. Winter might be a different story.
We absolutely had a blast and will definitely be visiting again!

My family decided on this beautiful blue ridge cabin as a family vacation for Easter. There were 8 adults and 5 kids. This property could not be more perfect. We did not have the best weather and loved enjoying all of the qualities of this house. Our kids ranging 1-9 were not bored for a single moment. Rooms were comfortable and clean. The view was absolutely remarkable! I would 100% stay here again and recommend it to other families. Also, very short distant to downtown activities! We would recommend “The Grumpy Old Man Brewery”.

We all had an amazing time in this cabin. This cabin is spacious yet cozy. The kitchen had everything we needed plus we too advantage of the Komodo grill that was conveniently located on the deck. Five couples were very comfortable in individual bedrooms that all had their own private bathroom and kids had a blast in the bunk room and game room. We all had fun roasting marshmallows at the fire pit outside. Victor was very easy to work with. Great time. Memories formed. Hope to come back soon.

We went with our family the week of Dec-27-Jan 1,2023. Ages ranged from 2 years old, teens twenties and late fifties. Unfortunately, the night before our arrival a mild snow storm had hit preventing vehicles from going up the mountain. So we were stuck at the bottom of the hill with our luggage and groceries. The cleaning people showed up the same day we did so that was also disappointing. Once we arrived we realized the property needed serious cleaning, counters were full of finger prints and other crusty items( it seemed it hasn’t been cleaned in a while). Because we had so many guests arriving, we decided to clean the entire place ourselves which included towels, all bedsheets, floors, the carpets needed a professional cleaning so we just wore socks or shoes. After we settled in the late in the second day we were able to let the kids play in the snow and have fun. The ping pong table they advertise was not there, not sure why, was not told. The pool table, poker table, chessboard and playroom were great for kids. However when it got cold we cold not use any of the tv to watch a movie or the ball drop on New Year’s nor project it because they were not smart tvs.
We had a fantastic time with our family and made memories to remember. I’m giving it a 4 because the property is run down, cobwebs in and out of the home and railing are loose to the point it is a liability. Lastly, if a storm was eminent the company should have cleaned ahead of time. After the arrival on day two we did have 1 lady for a 5000 sq foot home attempt to clean. We felt bad for her and asked only to do floors and bathrooms because we had done everything else.
The owner was very responsive and did help as much as he could since the weather was not within his control, however the lack of maintenance of the property is, as well as a dirty property considering we booked this March 2022. We Loved the memories but would not return.

Stayed in this property 11/20 through 11/27 for a family Thanksgiving vacation. Upon arrival we immediately noticed how dirty the outside was. The exterior of the house was covered in dirt and spiderwebs and the front porch had bird droppings in many areas. Upon entering we realized the inside was no different. It appeared the house had not been cleaned in quite a while. Dirt, leaves, food and crumbs were on all of the floors, spiderwebs in every corner and on every light fixture, trash left in the cans, gum on the floor, toothpaste splattered on bathroom mirrors, food smeared on the refrigerator and splattered on a wall in the kitchen. There were stains and spills on every hardwood floor, and the other rooms had very old and very stained shag carpet. The kitchen cabinets contained rat droppings, and we did not feel comfortable using the pots, pans and utensils. The fireplace still had ashes in it and burned marshmallows were in front, melted to the stone. The first night we discovered that most of the beds had no sheets, and none were available in the house. The one bedroom that had sheets had ones stained in what appeared to be fresh blood and mucous and had obviously not been washed. We had to purchase sheets for every bed. There were blown light bulbs in almost every room, and a couple of the toilet rooms had blown bulbs and could only be used in the dark. No replacement bulbs were available. Dirty dishes were left in the dishwasher and laundry was left in the washer & dryer. Spiderwebs and spiders could be seen in every corner, crevice, ceiling...all over. We killed many large spiders throughout the week and found them in our suitcases. Rats were active at night and could be heard running through the walls and ceilings. The porches were barely usable due to the dirt and bird droppings, and a few of the chairs were broken and left on the porches. The ping pong table was broken and laying in two pieces and was unusable, and the pool table was old and had torn bumpers and was barely usable. The grill was broken and contained burned charcoal. We were finally able to talk to the owner but he offered no solution and said "well I guess you won't be grilling" when we mentioned the grill and said we sound like a "broken record". He said he would have the cleaning crew call but that never happened. We never heard back from him at all and he ignored all texts. Great view, but that's all. Book something cleaner and enjoy your trip

They're always a list of rules about renting. Well, the cabin wasn't cleaned. After being so frustrated of host not replying multiple times about some issues, I decided to keep all of my complaints until the end of my stay. Number one complaint, cabin was NOT cleaned. I asked for my cleaning fee be returned. It took him over 24 hours to reply to that, not surprised. but, his reply back was if I rent again in future he would give a discount. He was just not a very good host, cleaning was awful, heater wasn't working-he never replied to me about that-but at 10:37pm a knock on the door and it was AC guy....again, no notice to me whatsoever, which I thought was rude, happy he got heat working though. Dirty dishes in dishwasher, trash in down stairs restrooms/game room, my one year old nephew found 2 pills on floor in down stairs room, luckily we brought it to his mom before consuming it, I could go on. At this point I was quite upset and disappointed. The family regrouped, rather then losing all of our money, we stayed, we cleaned up, and made the best out go it. The cabin does have a beautiful view of the lake and mountains.

This place has become a tradition between my friends and I, we gather here at least once a year, and every time it's an amazing trip. The size and the views at the cabin separate it from the rest. the kids room is a god send for parents and kids. Cant wait fro the next trip.

Great house with beautiful view! Each of 5 families had plenty of "private" space...their own bathroom, space in parents' rooms for toddlers to sleep. The wonderful bunkbed/play room was the favorite place for 8 kids ages 13-2! Everyone loved the front porch swing!

This house was beautiful and large enough for our entire family of 19 adults and children. The game rooms were well-stocked for activities: It was definitely family friendly. There was plenty of room to spread out and enjoy the views and wooded environment. We were even treated to a bear family that visited the driveway one morning! Although the road up and down the mountain to the house was a bit harrowing for those of us who live in flat Florida, there was lots to do in the area in the towns and on the lake.
Overall, we highly recommend this house.

It was a great week with family of 9. The location with its view and wrap around balcony is great. We had the most beautiful sunrise on the peaceful balcony. Online pictures of the house say it all. The rooms were all well-appointed and comfortable. Lots of space to relax, plenty of space for activities. So as not to argue over rooms, 5 slept in what they called the "barracks" The gravel road to the gate can be a little scary especially with cars coming in opposite direction, but an adventure! Activities included hikes to several waterfalls, white water rafting, tubing. shopping on Main Street, grocery shopping at Walmart daily for our dinners and packed lunches for adventures. It was an awesome week of family fun and activities. Victor the host was very responsive. Thank you!!!

The drive is worth it. You are 15 minutes from downtown Blue Ridge after the 15 minute drive from the house to the road. The house was big and spacious enough for our 5 sets of family members and their families. We were greeted with brand new towels upon our arrival. The kitchen had everything needed to prepare meals for 18 of us. The only thing we needed to buy was a pitcher from the Food Lion for drink preparation for the kids. It was a wonderful week for all of us. Thanks again Victor for allowing us to use the house.

Great location - needs better upkeep
Viking coffee caraf handle was broken and old grounds in a filter still in the pot. Top oven door doesn’t close securely. Viking frig light was out. Advertised gas grill not present but a worn out knock off of a Green Egg was. Pillow case with mucous dried on it. Sheet with apparent dried blood that had not been washed according to my sister. Adirondack chairs had arms broken off. Deck railing was rotten in some areas. Trash can in garage had stinking old garbage in it. Dead bugs around bathtub upstairs. I have photos of much of this. Great house, great location, great amenities but needs better cleaning and needs maintanence.

Breathtaking views
You are literally 20 minutes from downtown but the view is worth it. It is a 5 bedroom 6.5 bath home. The bunkhouse is huge and great for those unmarried. Only one oven was working properly ( victor disclosed this). The handle on coffee pot was broken. The upstairs shower close to bunk room was leaking into garage and kiddos just used the other ones. ( Victor says this has been fixed) Thankfully the ceramic grill was available to cook our Turkey and ham for Thanksgiving!! The place could use a deep cleaning but I am particular. A few minor tweaks and this place would be perfect. Overall we would consider this place again if we decide to take another family vacation.

Great View, Great Cabin
Overall this was a great visit, and we had a wonderful time. There were minor maintenance issues, but nothing that ruined the trip or became an inconvenience. The view from the deck is amazing!

Total Disappointment for our Team
The lodge was absolutely filthy when our Planning Coordinator arrived. It took her and her assistant over12 hours to get the Lodge cleaned prior to our arrival. Many of the kitchen appliances were broken....one of the double ovens did not work at all and the other one did not keep an accurate temperature. The dishwasher did not clean the dishes and the built-in Microwave was broken. The website photos were very misleading.....the home is in total disrepair and our entire staff was disappointed. I hope to get a response from VRBO, as of yet, no one has contact me.

Things you need to know
If you are looking for a view, this property has it. But that’s it. The majority of kitchen appliances did not work, dishes and stove were dirty. Cabin itself could be nice if it were cleaned and updated.
At night in the bedroom on the main floor you could hear rats in the walls.
We had a group of 15. The owner did not disclose that the appliances weren’t working properly. When we called to ask about it, he said we could check out or nothing would be done.
We had already bought all of the groceries snd had our group checked in. He was rude and unwilling to give any compensation for the huge inconvenience from not disclosing the appliances did not work properly.
Would not recommend.

Great cabin!
We had a wonderful family vacation. The road leading to the cabin was scary steep, but we made it! The views are beautiful. The cabin was spacious enough that we were able to all have our own space without feeling cramped. The game tables were a huge hit. And Victor was very responsive when we contacted him with questions.

Great Family Retreat
Cabin is beautiful…everyone had a very good time. The bottom oven didn’t work but we still made due. One of the A/Cs froze up we called and the HVAC person was there in less than 2 hours. Only thing missing was a hot tub in the screened lower level deck.

I’m not quite sure where to start. I initiated contact with the propriety manager 30 minutes prior to our arrival because we had not received any code to access the property. He did send it b4 we got there but I feel like I should not of had to ask. While trying to locate the place we initiated contact with the manager to give us a call. Still haven’t gotten a call or reply. After our 90 minutes which is all you’re given for any issues with the house, I found the master bedroom to have trash under the bed & behind a bench. There are cob webs on almost every level of this home. We killed at least 6 large spiders & 2 scorpions in this rental. Up in the light fixtures you can see the dead insects in it. And maybe it’s suppose to be that way being it is the mountains. Yet you can not ask for an early check in because of the “professional” cleaners. Nothing I saw said professional cleaning. I will say there was plenty of towels left & a generous amount of cleaning supplies. The morning of I found it unusually cold around 6:35, just thinking it was me so I bundle up. We find later there is no electricity or water. I tried contacting the property manager whom still have yet to reply. Eventually on our departure which was in a hurry because we had little ones with us that had gotten congested in the cold. I sent him a message indicating why we may not have left the home to standards because of no lights, still no reply! House/Cabin a little dated, could definitely use sum upgrades. This is so not what a first time mountain rental/cabin seeker had envisioned. Again, maybe it’s just us because this our first (and last) time at this adventure.

Dust and cobwebs everywhere and no, they were NOT Halloween decorations! Expensive for how dirty it is. Green algae growing on the deck outside. Not enough sitting options for the decks. The only 3 sitting options on the deck are two swings- which are full of bird poop and dust and two bar height stools with a broken back rest. Fire pit is nice and the Adirondack chairs are nice, however there were leaves everywhere and they were covering the ground. I had to personally rake them myself to make sure there were no snakes nesting underneath. I understand it was fall, but someone should have blown the leaves before we arrived. Carpets were disgusting and not maintained. Slow draining showers and we made sure we only used one at a time as suggested. What bothers me the most is that these are all repeat occurrences mentioned by others who have stayed before us and the owner is not addressing the concerns here. There is a sewer smell on the stair way leading down to the game room on the bottom floor. This is, in no way, a “luxurious” place to stay as it’s claimed to be by the owner. Victor, it’s time you invest back into your property and take care of all these opportunities.

So much potential but it’s not clean!
