About this apartment rental
The boutique-hotel ambiance of the Royal Garden Hotel combined with the Hawaiian tropical setting provides the ideal atmosphere for your vacation, business trip, or long-term stay!
BrooksBeachVacations has added a California King bed and a 65-inch wall-mounted smart TV to the condo.
There are 2 comfortable swivel chairs for watching TV a small table, and 2 chairs.
We have 3 units in this building ( 1803, 1805 & 2003).
The hotel/condo was built in 1977 by the Japanese, during a time when money was no object. The primary building materials are marble and gold leaf.
The room is a good size, much larger than a hotel room, you will be very comfortable. The view is from the 20th floor and in one direction you see the mountains in the other the Pacific Ocean straight ahead is Diamond Head. This Unit has a California King Size bed. The view is on the much preferred Diamond Head side of the building, which has an Ocean view towards Diamond Head. This side of the building has a much better view of the Ocean and Pacific Trade winds coming straight in the Large lanai door.
You have 24-hour valet parking at $50/day. There is free parking along the canal at the end of the block if you can find a space or in the neighborhood on the other side of the canal.
The condo is adjacent to De Russey Park, and De Russey Park Beach. This is a very nice area where the 'Beautiful People' go. There are also free tennis courts in the park with night lighting.
It is a short walk to the Hilton Hawaiian Village, the Royal Hawaiian Pink Palace, or the Sheraton Mona Surfrider; but it is also very, very, nice to return to the quiet of this condo at the Royal Garden and get away from all the hoi polloi, and crowds of tourists, and children. So you get the best of all worlds within a five-minute walk.
The world-famous Ala Mona shopping center is also nearby. The bus stop is 1/2 block away. There is no need for a car. This luxury condo is much nicer than a hotel room.
FROM THE GUEST BOOK:
'My husband and I really enjoyed our three-week stay. We travel to Waikiki every year but this was the first time that we rented an apartment. The condominium was clean, well-equipped, and close to everything the city offers. We are already planning our holiday for next year, and hope to have the same condo for years to come! (Katlin Simons, Newport Beach).'
'The apartment is very lovely, and the chandelier is so elegant. It is quite roomy, very comfortable, functionally equipped, and quiet. It is well situated, close to the central park, the beach, and all the attractions, with a reliable bus service to and from the airport. The shops include Prada, Burberry, Ives Saint Laurent, etc. There are plenty of restaurants. If you need any help in deciding what to do the staff can make recommendations. Waikiki has a lot to offer, and we had a lovely time there. (Darlene McCully, Paris, France)'
Why stay in a hotel, this luxury condo is nicer, at a much lower price. This condo is central to all the fun, but away from the crowds of tourists.

Great staff.
Good location.

Clean space, amenities perfect for our 10 day stay in a lovely older hotel in a good section of Honolulu. Close to beach, shopping and restaurants. We’ll stay again, hopefully in a larger unit w same owner.

We enjoyed our stay. The facilities were fine. Really appreciated the laundry access. We walked everywhere!

By no fault of the owner, the property treats condo owners a bit differently than the hotel guests and time share owners. the differences are quite minor, but noticeable. I had access to the pool and fitness room. but not the game room (pool table, shuffle board, etc.) the hotel charged $3 per bag for short term luggage storage, but was free for hotel guests. Aside from these minor annoyances, the room was wonderfully comfortable in a great location with short walk to high-end shopping area in Waikiki. The hotel staff was very nice and actually apologetic for these minor short-comings. The owner was very accommodating to my early arrival. Would stay again.

The property is nicely kept. It is basically a hotel type room with a small refrigerator and some small appliances for cooking (which we did not make use of). It is very conveniently located for walking to everything in Waikiki, but it is far enough out of the main area to be quiet at night.

The property was just as described. Located just a short walk to the beach, restaurants and shopping, we very much enjoyed our stay. Prior to arrival, my wife and I spent a week at a luxury resort on the beach in Lahaina, Maui (very expensive). This property served as a relaxing, more private, and very affordable stay in Waikiki, while still very close to everything.

We stayed 2 nights. Kind and friendly staff. Walking distance to beach, restaurants and shopping.
Clean room and quiet building. The building and grounds are well maintained.
Definitely recommended VRBO.

The unit is very similar to a large hotel room. Our group rented 4 units in this building. Some other rooms in the property have been remodeled adding a closet and kitchen space. This unit has not been updated so the closet space is used for the appliances and storage. Not much room for hanging clothes. The unit is clean, well stocked and the owner is excellent to work with! The facilities are also very nice. Warning about the parking. Most of the attendants are great, but be aware when paying. Some of the front desk staff have a tendency to forget to mark down your payment. No reflection on this unit or owner, but if you are parking a car it is worth noting.

Building is highly maintained, friendly staff, and owner was available by phone when needed.

1.Property size was small
2. Floor was not clean
3. Towel supply was limited
4. Toiletry supply was very minimum
5. Can not charge valet parking to credit card and needed to pay with cash ($800) but the persons in charge of valet parking were all very nice and friendly
6. No ocean view at all

The location of this property was excellent. Everything you’d want was within walking distance. The accommodations were very nice. We really enjoyed our visit. Kitchen area was small but has everything we needed like a fridge, flatware, plates and glassware. Perfect for two!

This place is intact close to shopping that’s the best thing. The TV isn’t a smart TV so we watched on our phones. The balcony is very slim so you can’t really hang out on it but great city views. And coming from Maui prior the city view from the 20th floor was beautiful. The shower is small and you only get two towels so bring extra or grab some as we did. The bed that was the best part. It’s a Cali king and the sheets and pillows where my favorite part. All in all I would rate it a 3 out if 5 just cause the small things count when your on vacation.

Location was great, within walking distance to everything, the beach, shopping, food. Parking available on the street. Good neighborhood. This is a great place to stay in Honolulu.

Our host, Paul, was easy to deal with. The room was clean, full of required essentials, incredible view and in the heart of Waikiki! Can’t wait to return and continue adventuring in Oahu!

We had a great time here. The king size bed is very comfortable after a day of exploring. Beach is a 10-15 minute walk, there are a couple of beach chairs and float devices to use. Everything you need to fix food in the room. The host is very responsive to questions.

As a handicapped person , the only recommendation I would make is to install a grab bar in the shower and a grab bar next to the toilet . We found you place very comfortable. The hotel staff, especially the valets were terrific.

Nice property, very good bed/mattress, front door could use cleaning or fresh paint, tub was clean but stained, needs to be RE-finished to match rest of otherwise very nice bathroom, not owners fault, but thought property had a hot tub, wishful thinking I guess. Very nice property in a very good location

Just what we needed
All in all, this was a great little place for just me and my boyfriend. Wasn’t huge as expected, but we used it to sleep and get ready, didn’t spend much time at all. Had everything we needed (also had beach supplies) and with free laundry which was helpful. The bed was so cozy and clean and while it’s not right on the beach you do get views of everything- city, mountains, and ocean! Host responded to all questions immediately and check in/out was a breeze. Mahalo!

Soaps
Overall good. Only thing needed is more
Small body wash, shampoo , and no conditioner at all. 4 days for 2 people on one shampoo sample size is not enough. I would have brought my own supply if known. Also lanai does not open. Thanks...

Great Location
Paul was very quick to respond when I needed help checking in. The room was clean, nice, and equipped with everything you need. Our only complaint was that the safe didn't work - we could store our valuables but the safe didn't lock. Other than that, we really enjoyed our stay there.

Spotless in Waikiki
The unit was spotless and well appointed. Loved the large soaking tub. No real kitchenette. Half of the closet was carved out for a small fridge and microwave. Otherwise everything was great.

A Pleasant Vacation
The property was very nice and well maintained. The condo owner, Paul, was very responsive both before and during our stay. The condo and the property had all of the amenities we needed. We would use them again as we were very pleased with the ease of booking and level of communication and service.

Great stay!
Was a great location and launchpad for exploring Waikiki!

Vacation
Very nice. Very close to the beach and shops. Shower doesn't drain very well and we needed more toilet paper. But other than that really no issues. You might tell future renters that the front desk won't give extra toilet paper or trash bags or towels for pool though.

Clean, convenient, good value
Well maintained and clean, convenient to Waikiki beach and shopping. Perfect for a quick get away!

Royal Garden
Bit of a walk to beachfront but ideally located at start of Wakiki itself. Elegant 4 star place done up in beautiful marble and very safe.

Exactly as advertised
Lovely place, not quite central but easily walked. Benefit is that it’s quiet

Property in Paradise
We really enjoyed our stay. The building is beautifully maintained---the staff courteous and polite--always opening doors for you. The location is excellent--a short walk to a beach with a stunning view of Diamond Head! There are many great restaurants a short walk away as you are in the heart of Waikiki. If you are a good walker you can walk to Walmart--Target--Walgreens--Don Quiotes (our favourite grocery store) as we did many times during our month long stay. The unit itself is clean and well equipped. Paul has every appliance you would need. He also has a cooktop which you can use on the vanity to make a meal. There is a king size bed that is very comfortable. If you are coming to this area and don't want to spend hundreds every night then this is an ideal place to stay.

Great place to stay
Nice place and staff here is exceptional

Totally worth the value!
Stayed here with my 12 year old daughter for the holidays.
*The location was safe and clean.
* Beach and shopping was 10 minute walk.
*Check-in/out quick and friendly
*Staff was informative and friendly
* hotel was clean and updated
*room was easy access from elevator
*all the simple necessities for simple snacks or to eat
*all convenient amenities for cleaning, hair, and even towels/beach mats
*balcony view is pretty of Diamond head and sunrises-sunset is limited but you can see the ocean and reflections
***cooking and setting up hot plate and coffee pot is all same area as sink which is sufficient. Many restaurants nearby and ABC convenient store if you need it.
*bed and linens were comfy and clean
***only suggestion is to update clean air conditioning—it was either too warm or too cold to the humidity outside.
The staff and owner answered all questions and concierge gave us great advice on restaurants and even Luau.
Reminder this is not a paid resort but you get to use the facilities and get the conveniences.
Would love to come back.

In the midst of it all.
This place was centrally located with a wonderful view of the city.

The property was beautiful!
The room was a nice size and the view from our room was beautiful. We stayed for six days and I feel that there should have been at least an extra set of towels and sheets. The closet and cabinet should be more organized, we didn't find the cabinet with pots and hot plate until the third day. The baseboards were dusty and there was dust alongside the bed and wall plugs. I haven't had an asthma attack in a while, I'm not sure if the dust triggered it. Although, I could have paid an extra two hundred total at a hotel up the block that included breakfast, and adjustments are made to the unit, my husband and I would definitely stay there again because the front desk always gave great customer service. When we ran into employees on the elevator or in the lobby, they were also nice.

Great place. It had everything we needed.
This Owner's unit was the perfect size for my partner and me. It was clean and safe. The site is within walking distance of the beach, stores and other places we wanted to go. We made use of some of the appliances to make coffee and light meals, which was super convenient and saved time/money. I would happily stay there again.

Great location but not very clean and needs updating
The location is great. The property itself not so much. Floors were filthy and parts of the bathroom had not been cleaned for a long time. Dirt on the air vent was almost half an inch thick. Bathroom and shower very small. This place cold certainly use an update.

Great location
The location was great, the people were super helpful and friendly. If you are looking for a hotel room type stay it works. The fact that the only closet was taken up with kitchen supplies that you really had no place to set up was not good for us, it ment that all luggage was laying out in the way the whole time. The shower had a very slow drain and if you weren’t careful would overflow. The deck was only big enough to stand on, not put the chairs out and enjoy. That said, the view was great and we had a good time.
2.0
Loved the fact that it was accross the street from Fort derussy Park and beach ( better than Waikiki beach) lobby always clean. Great walks along the canal. The only thing missing was a side table to stand the coffee maker and toaster. Not a real kitchenette so needed to be creative to prepare breakfast and clean dishes from bathroom sink.
I would still highly recommend this place!
