About this cabin rental
We read all reviews. If there is an issue we do everything possible to solve the problem.
List of solved problems:
1. Air conditioners are now in every room. 2. Dehumiderfier in basement. This takes care of any musty smell. 3. Deep well. Plenty of water. 4. Additional Pavement added to driveway.
The temperature at night during the summer is around 63 degrees. WE have had to turn on the heat to take out the chill. WE have window units but usually only need them in the middle of the day and not every day. (WE had a guest complain about not having central air. We have never needed it.) NOt every room has satellite but does have VCRs, disc players or some other type of entertainment. WE do have satellite in two dens and a bedroom. I have a fooseball table, games, music, and books for all ages in the basement. There is a game room not connected to the cabin. It is not finished but can be used to play pool and other games. The bedrooms consist of two queen and three full beds. Two master suites. Three full baths. Full kitchen and outdoor grill. Wrap around deck on second level, and private decks off third floor bedrooms. Two dens with fireplaces. Outdoor features include, several areas to sit and eat Swings are avaliable for all ages Outdoor fire pit and a fireplace. Horse shoes.. Fruit trees and walking areas. Short walk to the creek, waterfall, or trout farm. Short distance to Bryson City, Harrah's Casino, Nantgahala Gorge and Blue Ridge Parkway.
FYI...this is a real log cabin backed up to the Indian reservation. Very private and a wonderful view of the mountains. Clouds often float through the yard. If someone comes up the drive you have company or someone is lost. Also, if there is fruit on the trees help yourself.
No Pets are allowed except by owner or support pets with legal proof.
Keep in mind that this is a real cabin backed up to the Indian Reservation. We get ladybugs in the fall. They are harmless, Also, just because of the location there are critters, bears, turkeys, foxes and sometimes a little mouse.

We took our family vacation to this precious cabin. The view is incredible and so peaceful. Plenty of things to do around the area. All things listed in description are accurate. We had great communication with the owner from the get go. I highly recommend this place for a great get away. We can't wait to go back.

The cabin was just as depicted in the description. It was spacious and perfectly located. The kids loved the adventure of driving up and down the mountain driveway! Conveniently located to things to do in both Bryson City and Cherokee. Private with beautiful views. Beds were comfy and the cabin was clean. Kitchen was equipped with everything needed to cook a meal for our large group. The owner is friendly and helpful. Little touches of Christmas decor made it feel homey. Our favorite part was sitting in the rockers on the front porch and just enjoying the view of the mountains and the sound of the running creek. The drive to Pigeon Forge/Gatlinburg area was breathtaking. We saw herds of elk on four separate occasions during our trip. We had a wonderful time! Thank you for sharing your home with us! ❤️

The property was rustic, secluded and very peaceful. Everything about the property was as described in the listing. The host Debra Woody is truly amazing and went the extra mile to ensure our comfort and smooth stay.
We loved being so close to nature and did a bunch of activities: fished for trout, hiked in GSMNP, took a steam locomotive trip, visited the towns of Bryson and Cherokee, and even went to the cinema in Cherokee.
This is a 5 start property for anyone wanting an authentic experience and some time unplugged from daily city life.

Homey cabin in the mountains
The design of this cabin is excellent for a large family (10 people). Very comfortable, secluded space to relax and enjoy the mountains. The owners are extremely accommodating and helpful.

Beautiful Scenery
Property is beautiful. Every angle you view is beautiful. I enjoyed driving around looking at the scenery and seeing the constant flow of the stream that runs the entire property. Cabin was clean and very spacious. The downstairs level is its own apartment minus a kitchen.

Fantastic Cabin and Host!
We had an amazing time at the cabin with a group of 5 and we were close the things that mattered, rivers for fishing and mountains for off-roading! We even caught trout in the creek by the road to the cabin.

Comfortable cabin
Comfortable cabin, quiet neighborhood. Indication of steep driveway to cabin would have been helpful to choose the right vehicle to use for trip.

The property was great! Such a great place to stay with lots of room and all the amenities that you would need. My family had a great time and would love to travel at another time. It was decorated just as you would imagine a cabin in the middle of the woods would be.

We spent 3 hours cleaning when we arrived. Used wash clothes in bathroom, dirty socks and tissues in and around furniture, spill in fridge to be cleaned up, toilet was not clean, whirlpool tub was not usable, busted glass and candy wrappers on patios, a dirty mop and bath mat lay outside the door, garbage in game room wasn't dumped... this was just day ONE.
TWO other days were ruined by septic issues. The basement began to flood because of the back up, we couldn't take showers one morning, my parents had to sleep in a room with a closet behind their bed that had "black water" backed up in it. We spent several hours cleaning & disinfecting. If it weren't for my dad, we wouldn't have been able to stay in the house. On 2 different evenings, we spent our time digging up a septic that my dad had to find and then he snaked the line with the only tool he had available - a garden hose. Shoes and clothes got sewer water on them and had to laundered.
To the owner's credit, she did make herself available for phone calls throughout all of this and she did contact a family member to come to the cabin and help clean, but not until 10PM and as soon as someone took a shower upstairs, it began to back up again; the garden hose snake was not enough to clear the line. The owner contacted a septic service, but they didn't fix the problem, so we had a second day/night with a mess.
On our day of departure, I reached in the pantry to get the disinfectent spray and my hand settled on a dirty diaper along with some other misc trash (disgusting) that was not ours.
The Owner promised to make it right and at the time, I had no reason to doubt her. She offered to let us stay an extra night, but work schedules wouldn't allow for it. However, we did accept a late check out and left a few hours past check-out; but a few hours doesn't make up for the filth and sewer problems and 2 days ruined. I spoke to the Owner and said I would be expecting some compensation for our stay. She lead me to believe she would be fair.
A month later, a letter & check came. The check did not even cover 1 night; it was less than 10% back when a 3rd of our stay was ruined. The letter stated I could come again & get 2 nights free -that is NOT reasonable or fair. We live 14 hrs away. The owner told me to reach out if I didn’t think the amnt was fair. I have tried to communicate with the owner on multiple occasions. Over a month since the letter and 2 mths since stay- I've been ghosted.

White Christmas
Debra was great with communication about the property and suggestions on fun things to do around the cabin. She is very pleasant and was available by phone whenever we called. The property is as advertised and made for a fun Christmas family vacation. We had about 4 inches of snow and a freeze on Christmas Eve (Thursday), which made it impossible to leave the property safely over the next 2 days without melting the ice. We were supposed to check out on Saturday, but Mother Nature had different plans. No worries at all, as Debra communicated with us and with the incoming renters. She accommodated us and then and made for a very peaceful and stress free experience. The new renters even brought up supplies from the main road for us to melt the ice and exit the mountain safely. Overall, it was a great experience with a wonderful host. We hope to be back in the future.

Family gathering of 9 for a long Thanksgiving weekend, ages 23-90. Everyone had a great time. The cabin is exactly as described & the owner was wonderful with communication. We played foosball, cards, enjoyed the fire pit, & played a little pool. The only hiccup was with dropping our trash at the designated county site on check out day as the site opens later on Sundays so be aware/prepared. Would happily return.

Excellent cabin
Overall it was a great stay. Love how the cabin is by itself, very private. Everything is as advertised. There is a musty smell in the game room and the mattresses could use an update but those were the only two complaints I had, everyone had a great time.

We had a wonderful weekend. We really enjoyed the covered front porch and the fire pit. The cabin was a great choice for our trip to Cherokee. We had 8 adults and it worked out perfectly.

Fantastic Time at the cabin!
Debra was terrific to work with and a perfect host. The cabin was beautiful and the views fantastic! The road up to the cabin was a little scary as it was narrow and winding. However the destination was well worth the effort!

AWESOME PLACE
We had a great time staying at this cabin. It was very clean and had everything we needed to enjoy our time away. Debra was very responsive and gave great local recommendations. The only thing I will say - the driveway - it can be tricky as others have said but BOY is it worth it when you get to the top and have that view! We would definitely stay here again!

Fabulous stay
The cabin is beautiful and has all you need (full kitchen with plates, cups, pots, and pans; bathrooms; laundry), just bring your food & supplies (spices, drinks, detergent, body wash, paper products, coffee, etc).
The cabin is located in a remote location but only a 15-minute drive to Bryson City, Cherokee, and the Great Smoky Mountains. It's on top of a mountain and the drive up is somewhat steep and winding. We have a 2WD car and it was just fine, even in the rain.
We were both working during our getaway and absolutely needed extra internet. We arranged to purchase extra with the owner with no problem.
The owner is very responsive and wonderful. She leaves nice tips for the area, and we did almost all of them.
We were so happy in the cabin and would definitely return. This is a lovely and spacious property.

Great cabin stay!!
Absolutely a wonderful stay at this cabin on Labor Day Weekend. Traveled with a group of friends, total 4 couples. We sat around the camp fire each night and also played pool. Unique little road to get there. Option to cross the creek by bridge or driving through the creek, we chose the creek(big truck). Visited Lake Fontana, Cherokee, & Bryson City. The owner was absolutely wonderful to work with and made the stay quite easy from recommendations in the area and answering tons of my questions. We plan on returning.

Bryson city house
Our family had a great time in Bryson City and we enjoyed the house. I think it is important to let future renters know that the house is up a very steep driveway and our tires slipped every time we went up. The house is charming but need a lot of updates especially with the price charged. We could have rented a house that was more updated and fewer needed repairs for the same price. I also think it needs to be very clear that there is no central air only window units. With that being said, the basement smells very musky. The TVs upstairs were very old and not very useful. Aside from these issues lots of room for a larger family vacation.

Gray Fox cabin
Was a beautiful mountain cabin. We loved the fire pit and the grandkids enjoyed the swings. We appreciated how rustic the cabin was, and enjoyed the owners personal touches! There was plenty of room for all 6 of us. Convenient to the Polar Express too!!! Highly recommend this cabin!

Perfect for a crowd
We stayed here to celebrate our friend's 60th birthday. The house was perfect for our needs! We really enjoyed having one house for all of us. The house is well appointed with everything you will need. We were close to Bryson City and to Cherokee, which was what was needed. Great memories were made. Thank you!
