About this house rental
Our spacious home is situated one block from Main Street on the sunny side of town, a two-minute walk to the Gondola, Town Park, restaurants, stores, and trails. It has views of all sides of the box canyon. This house sleeps 9.
This historic home was built in 1898. The interior has been recently remodeled with Green Building Materials to accommodate the most modern amenities. The spacious kitchen is equipped with a Wolf stove and a large stainless-steel refrigerator, freezer, dishwasher, microwave, and other electrical appliances used in gourmet kitchens. Some fun amenities are an expresso machine, coffee maker, soda stream carbonated water maker, filtered water, instant hot water for tea, toaster, microwave, Fun wine glasses, colorful plates, sharp gourmet kitchen knives, full spice rack etc.
A giant butcher-block island in the center of the kitchen is great for cooperative cooking or bar-style dining that seats 5. There is also a custom wooden family style dinner table that seats 8. A Kimball upright piano circa 1900 is located in the dining room and can be played as you await your meal as it is being prepared. There is also a professional drum set and guitar downstairs, a plethora of board games and books.
A comfortable and modern sunken living room is two steps down from the kitchen area, where cozy couches and relax-your-back recliners and a love seat surround a cozy gas fired stove. The south facing bay window looks out into Bear Creek with views of multiple mountain peaks.
Upstairs there are two bedrooms. The Skylight room has a comfortable queen bed from which you can star gaze from or just watch the snow fall. A Private bathroom with a very deep bath tub and large trough concrete sink is unattached to the Skylake room. The Master Bedroom, with Native American rugs, and quilted bedding and good reading lights look out onto Wasatch Peak. The recently remodeled bathroom addition has an oversized bathtub that could comfortably fit two, a large glass surrounded shower, twin sinks that sit atop a unique countertop made from recycled glass and is stunning and spa like. Reclaimed hickory wood floors are throughout the top floor.
Downstairs you’ll find a TV/ game room with a 46' flat screen tv, an elliptical glider, exciting wall to wall carpeting makes this room come alive. The leather couch can convert into a king size bed. Leaded glass doors lead into the downstairs 3rd bedroom that can sleep 2 on the single bunk beds, and 1 on a separate single bed. The downstairs bathroom has also been recently remodeled with stunning green building materials that you will be impressed with. This bathroom includes a steam shower.
From the outdoor private hot tub, you can hear clear live music coming from festivals in the park, or relax after a day of skiing in clean 103 degree Water as the snow falls.
East Columbia Avenue is a tree-lined street with majestic mountain views from every window. It’s an easy walk to Main Street and it’s many restaurants, concerts, art galleries and shopping. We have one parking space and a street pass, but cars are unnecessary when gondolas and your feet provide easy access. The free galloping goose bus passes by every 10 minutes just one block away. Main Street and Town Park are literally 50 steps away.

We had a lovely stay at the Blue House. The Kanow family were fabulous throughout and made a point of stopping by to say hi! We stayed for a month and had everything that we needed. The house’s location is perfect for easy access to town, City, and everything Telluride has to offer.

We had a wonderful month-long stay at The Blue House! It is a very cozy and comfortable place on a nice quiet street, and the hosts were amazing in their hospitality and responsiveness. We loved our stay and hope to return again soon.

We came to Telluride for the baseball camp and tournament for our middle school aged son. The Blue House was perfect for our two week stay. Very accommodating! Joanna and her husband were so helpful and nice with any questions we had. The house is in the perfect location to the park and town. We walked everywhere. We cannot wait to come back.

We stayed here for six weeks during ski season with our 3-year and 4-month old children and our dog. It was a wonderful stay. There are lots of little 'extras' that we didn't consider ahead of time but were really great to have, like a wagon that was great for pulling our daughter to the gondola with her skis and ski boots. I worked from home many days at the desk on the staircase landing and it was very comfortable. Fast internet. Hot tub, beds, views, kitchen all great. It was hard to leave.

This is a fantastic house in a great location in the coolest mountain town in America. There is quite a bit of space on the main floor which includes a kitchen, a large island, a dining room table and a family room. The upstairs bedrooms are great. The downstairs bedrooms sort of merge together so they might be best for a single couple or for a couple and their kids. Overall, it's a great location to hear the music from the summer festivals and its very close to the edge of town. Joanna is a great hostess and is available to help you out with any questions. I'll go back!

Our family had a wonderful stay at the Blue house. The location is ideal...on a very quaint, lovely street close to town. There was plenty of room for us and the piano made it even more charming and fun.We made a snowman in the front yard and it really felt like home.

This is our second time staying here and we can’t wait to come back! The house is walking distance to everything and the perfect setup for a family - having a separate hangout room is great. Joanna the host is truly accommodating.

The beauty and ease of Telluride is almost unbelievable. For one week at The Blue House, we can pretend that we live in Telluride.. and experience life as perfectly satisfying and quaint. The house immediately feels like home.. easy kitchen, cozy seating, good books and good beds. There are many areas for gathering: The large kitchen bar, the hot tub, the sunny front yard, and the spacious bottom floor. Best of all, the walk to town is about 10 seconds.. add 5 minutes and you're on an epic hiking trail. The Blue House is in the heart of Telluride, an unbeatable place to call home.

Our group of seven had an incredible time at the Blue House. From the high end appliances, ecologically-friendly remodel, heated floors, and hot tub, this was the perfect home base for our ski outings. Joanna was an excellent hostess, making sure that the lights and heat were on for us. She responded quickly to any questions/requests that we had. We had the most amazing vacation and can't wait to return to the Blue House!

The Blue House is on a quiet street just a block or two from the main shopping and nightlife of Telluride. It is near the quick shuttle line to the ski gondola but also close enough to walk. The house is cozy and well furnished. The large kitchen counter is the heart of the house where you will gather after skiing to discuss the days adventures. The hot tub is a delight. The bathrooms are modern and well appointed. The master bedroom is large and pleasant although the bed in the master bedroom was a bit too firm for my taste. There are enough other comfortable beds in the house that we had more than enough options for our family. It is a lovely comfortable house and well located. If we return to Telluride we would certainly enjoy staying at The Blue House again.
