This home was sparkling clean and beautifully decorated in a beach theme. The neighborhood is close to both the beach and the lake. The property owner is incredibly nice and went out of their way to make we had all of the info we needed to feel comfortable in the home. We had a great time and would definitely return to this location.

This house was absolutely superb! We had three generations staying here with plenty of space and amenities for everyone. The host has been incredibly thoughtful in creating the perfect vacation house - you very quickly start to feel right at home! The location was also fantastic- quiet, but still close to everything including the beach and beautiful lake nearby. I wouldn’t hesitate to stay here again! Thank you, Cynthia!

Very much enjoyed our stay at this house in beautiful Lake Como. The house was super clean, well provisioned, and comfortable. We both enjoyed walking along the ocean on the boardwalks which was a 10 minute walk from the house. The neighborhood is quiet and peaceful.

Relaxing getaway
This is a lovely property just steps aways from Lake Como and a short walk to the beach. The house was very comfortable, with lovely patios and outdoor spaces. The internet connections were good. Our host Cynthia had great communication, which made our stay that much more relaxing. We had a great trip and would gladly rent this property again.

Great stay
We had a great stay. The location is great - quiet and low key. Short drive / bike to the beach and downtown Spring Lake. The owner took great care to leave detailed information about managing the property and was very helpful / responsive whenever I had a question. We had to cut our stay short due to Hurricane Ida - but had a great time nonetheless.

A relaxing great escape
The Great Escape was, as the name suggests, a great escape to the gorgeous Jersey Shore! The house was clean and spacious, providing many different places for people to relax, including front porch, side porch, back yard, and living room. The kitchen table was large enough for meals and game playing! The owner provided beach tags for all 5 of us, allowing us to make the long walk or short drive to the beach each day. The neighborhood was very quiet and the porch overlooked the peaceful Lake Como. Overall, it was a wonderful beach vacation. We hope to make it back again!

Wonderful family friendly place to stay!
My husband, 18 month old and I stayed here for a week and had a wonderful time. The house is very clean and had everything we needed. My daughter loved feeding the fish out back and walking across the street to the lake to see the ducks. The neighborhood is nice, quiet and family friendly. Cynthia was an excellent host and made some extra accommodations for us since we were flying in from California. We would definitely stay here again.

Property and living arrangements were great. Nice deck off of a well supplied kitchen and a picnic table in the yard. The master bedroom mattress was a bit uncomfortable and a 4 block walk to the beach is a bit of a stretch. Its a long walk, closer to a mile. Overall it was perfect for my adult family.I was a bit surprised by the additional charge once I booked the property. The additional fee was eventually negotiated. Also the host claims we broke a waste basket in the master bath. Ill take her word for it but neither my wife nor I recall this. A claim was filed against the security deposit (insurance ) that seemed a bit excessive. All in all it was a good vacation and we all enjoyed the stay.

Escape at Lake Como
We had a wonderful stay at the great escape. Cynthia went out of her way to make sure we made the most of our vacation, providing us access to the beach both before and after check in. My son loved feeding the fish and we made use of the bikes, enjoyed relaxing on the front porch and the side deck and all my boys loved the short walk to the park to play basketball. The house was convenient to everything and we walked to restaurants and ice cream and the neighborhood was quiet. An excellent trip.

A Brief Return to Normalacy
The Great Escape offered us a brief respite from the craziness of the COVID 19 pandemic. The property offers a variety of spaces for solitary relaxation, family socializing, family gaming, family dining. The cleanliness of the property made us feel safe. We were especially please with the attention the owner gave to make our "escape" that much more enjoyable.

Truly a Great Escape!
Considering this was February and our expectations regarding weather were not high, we had a great time here at the Great Escape and in Lake Como. We have been here for a family celebration for an aunt in NJ and this was just the restful spot for all 6 of us that we could have hoped for.
We never felt cramped in the clean and very comfortable house, the street was quiet and away from the main drag but close enough for walking distance to bars and restaurants. There's a particular kind of beauty around the boardwalk and the Atlantic at this time of year which we all found very evocative. We were visited by our US relatives who were also impressed with the house and the surroundings.
We have no hesitation in saying we will be back, probably next year when more family events are planned! Thanks Cynthia for the use of your lovely house!!

Ahhhhhhh
Cynthia made the experience perfect. The communications before the rental and during the rental was great. The property is the perfect shore getaway. Every amenity that you need or could want is provided. Loved the fish. The neighborhood is awesome and you're so close to the shore that you can hear the waves at night from the porch. Do yourself a favor and take a moment to relax and ESCAPE.

Week at Lake Como,NJ
We enjoyed our stay in this cute cottage. Walking distance to beach but if you have lots of beach stuff, take a car. Half of our party walked or biked and the others took a car. Parking was not a problem since we got there by 9:30 am and 9 on Friday. Beach very clean, bathroom facility was walking distance. Owner very responsive when refrigerator didn’t cool properly and was quickly replaced with new one. Enjoyable week!

Great escape indeed
This house had everything stated in the listing. The view of the lake is gorgeous and enjoyed morning yoga on the porch or a beverage in the evening. The neighborhood is quiet. Easy beach access to Belmar or Spring lake. The house is well maintained and would not hesitate to book a week again. The owner, Cynthia, was very accessible via email or by phone if need be.

Good for All Ages!
This vacation home is just a short drive from everything that’s made the Jersey Shore famous - the beaches & waves, pristine boardwalks, fun-packed amusement piers, fine and casual dining. There are also two parks close to the house which our young grandchildren visited several times. Many destinations are within walking or biking distance, but the temperature index was in the high 90s for most of our week so we mostly drove. The house itself was impeccably clean, and accommodated all our needs. Because of the heat, we couldn’t utilize the outdoor gathering areas as much as we’d have liked, but I should note that the AC in the house had no trouble keeping up with the high outdoor temps, so we were quite comfortable. Each evening our grandchildren impatiently awaited the descent of darkness, which ushered in the nightly backyard display of dancing fireflies - to be chased, caught, and released amidst squeals of delight. Many thanks to our hostess for her thoughtful and much appreciated welcome gift!

Best vacation home yet!
This little (well, not so little) house at the Jersey shore was the best vacation home I've found to date. Not only is the house cozy and homey, but sparkling clean. The kitchen is well-equipped. Cynthia takes pains to make sure all is well. There are so many touches that make you feel like an honored guest. If there is a question or a need, Cynthia responds immediately. I was here to visit my family, and they were impressed by the house and the host. My grandchild and grand nieces and nephews loved the fish, the figurines around the house and the yard. The location is perfect. Cynthia's attention to detail is helpful. I hope I am able to stay here again. There couldn't be any place better. I hope, if you're looking for the perfect vacation rental, contact Cynthia. You'll love it!

Very warm, welcoming!
Front porch was my favorite place to relax daily with a cup of coffee. Backyard was a great place to hang out and play lawn games. Owner was very welcoming and made sure we had everything we needed. Clean and maintained. Restaurants a bit of a walk, but we ubered easily.

Beautiful clean and relaxing beach house
Warm and inviting home within walking distance to the Ocean.
Beautifully landscaped neighborhood on serene Lake Como N.J. Great retreat for a much needed respite. We were relaxed and felt right at home the moment we stepped inside. Plenty of attractions in the area. Clean beaches, and boardwalk. Close to Asbury Park, home to great shopping and restaurants on the boardwalk. We will be definitely booking our next vacation and coming back to recharge...

Better than Home!!!!
WE absolutely love this rental. It feels like home and we can truly relax here. Everything we need is included or wit in a very short drive for us to obtain. The beach is close, there is a great little park for the grand kids, and a little lake for the kids to fish in. I love the fact that you can sit outside under the awnings all day and enjoy the fresh air and beautiful roses if you have no place to be. It's convenient to just about everything. Cynthia is a wonderful owner and was extremely thoughtful and helpful.
My only two complaints were the neighbors took up most of the street parking which is a big problem and on a smaller scale, we had cold weather and it took us a few days of freezing to figure out how to turn on the heat. We eventually did and everything turned out fine.
I hope to be able to rent this beautiful home on Memorial Day weekend for years to come.

A perfect "get away" will be experienced at The Great Escape"!
This lovely home is immaculate and very inviting. It is fully equipped, and each room is decorated with lovely artwork....The quiet setting with a view of Lake Como and within walking distance of the ocean make this a wonderful "sanctuary". In addition, the pond with 9 fish add to the peacefulness of this home.
The house is close to restaurants, stores, a farm stand, and shops. It is a perfect spot for families or friends.
I enjoyed the house for a month...
Cynthia, the owner, is thoughtful and attentive but not intrusive.
I highly recommend The Great Escape!

Great little home away from home!
My daughter and I spent 10 September days at Cynthia's Lake Como cottage and found everything to be perfect. When we arrived, there was a bottle of Pino Grigio, two stemware glasses, a wedge of great cheese and a box of crackers, just waiting for us. Notes everywhere -- every question answered. Everything was clean and it worked! Even the near passing of two hurricanes didn't dampen the mellowness of our surroundings. While the main attraction certainly was the beach- combing, this sweet cottage took second prize. Four stars only because driving to the beach proved the better way of getting there .... the 4 blocks were long ones. Highly recommended.
