Beautifully remodeled North Monrovia 3 Beds 1 Bath duplex with private access and a tree covered back yard (this is the downstairs unit) . Walking distance to Old Town with lots of shops, restaurants, supermarket, center, banks, coffee shop, public library and Friday night Farmer's market. Minutes away by car to the Canyon Park with trails and waterfall & attractions. Short distance away from the LA Arboretum, Getty Center, Santa Anita Race Track, and Westfield Santa Anita Mall. Let’s start with the good. Lovely neighborhood and location. Everything was very clean as well which was nice. However the beds were the worst nights sleep I’ve had in years. We both ended up sleeping on the couch bc the beds hurt our backs badly after one night. They are 1/2 inch old spring mattresses with no box springs. So if you’re cool with spending all this money but suffering through the night go for it. We left one night early bc the beds were that bad. Also the tv is one of the original smart tvs from 8 years ago, so no apps work. Literally none.

Had a 4 night 3+ day stay in Monrovia and wouldn't you know it - it rained over 2 of the days. We went to the Holocaust Exhibit at the Reagan Museum. Both a must see. Took in the Diamond District in downtown LA in the rain - VERY interesting. (Don't miss the restaurants in the alley!). Monrovia a delightful town (even in the rain). Many restaurants near to enjoy and VON's within walking distance. Walked the Melrose Shopping area (not to be advised). Drove around the Rose Bowl which was very nice. Since it rained so much we would have appreciated a rug inside the entry door to our VRBO. We cleaned up our arrival mess as best we could. VRBO was the main floor of an old, quaint house but was near to what we wanted and yet away from main LA. Any communication with property manager was addressed within minutes.

Clean, as described & host is a very good communicator. We were here for the Rose Parade in Pasadena, and it was an ideal spot. Close enough, and the 210 freeway is not overcrowded. Monrovia was a delight, with great restaurants in walking distance.

We were visiting friends who lived in a nearby neighborhood, and it was very convenient. Property was clean, but the floor could use more regular wet mopping and the shower handle needs to be replaced or repaired (it worked, but it was so loose it was difficult to control the water temp). We had what we needed and we enjoyed our stay. Also a plus: The taco stand directly across the street, La Nori, was EXCELLENT. For real. And there's a Von's grocery a block away, so easy shopping. I would definitely stay here again when we come back.

What a great stay in Monrovia! Unit is tucked away behind a retail storefront, but once inside you wouldn’t know the difference. Parking was onsite and easy to get in and out of. Living space was spacious as was both bedrooms. Kitchen was supplied with everything we needed. Bathroom was stocked with towels. The “step down” mentioned in other reviews was not a problem once you knew it was there. Host was quick to respond to our need for additional washcloths. In fact, she showed up within 20 minutes of my request. Would suggest a carpet at the entry way. We happened to catch a rainy few days in Southern California which made the floor sloppy and slippery. Host was very kind to our request for a late checkout due to the fact we were in Pasadena for the Tournament of Roses parade and not sure how long it would take to get back. House was convenient to Old Town, however we were not able to take advantage of that due to the all day rain the one day we had planned to shop. Only negative was the charge for additional people over 2. If unit sleeps 4 you shouldn’t have to pay for a 3rd person. I could see if you had 5 or 6 people. We were already paying for a 2 bedroom unit and had to pay $15 a night more for a 3rd person. Would definitely stay here again and highly recommend it for travel to Pasadena. Train station is only a few minutes away and then only a 15 ride into Pasadena.

My parents and brother stayed here over the Thanksgiving break. It's really near downtown Monrovia and super convenient off Foothill. I live in the Pasadena area and I thought this was good value compared to many hotels and rentals.

We enjoyed our stay at Foothills Villa. There was plenty of space for my wife and I. The bedrooms and living space were comfortable. Great location, very close to the old downtown area and quite walkable. Monrovia is a nice city to stay in.

Not the best place for seniors
It’s a beautiful place but not senior friendly. No handrail on front steps. You have to step down to enter bathroom - had to keep light on at night so we wouldn’t fall. Have to step up in closet. Just not safe for people with disabilities. But a beautiful space. And the location is fabulous. Convenient to Old Town.

Great apartment
Lovely place in a Safe neighborhood. Home was clean and had all the essentials needed to have a meal, shower and most important (for me at least) washer/dryer. The owner was easy to reach and very kind. Highly recommend.

Quick visit
Our family of 5 adults (2 couples, 1 single) were in the area to visit my elderly parents near LA … chose this property based on combination of area, rates, reviews, distance to parents’ apartment, and time we would spend at the property (essentially sleeping, showering, quick breakfast, etc).
The location of this property is ideal for being close to many shops, main highway, some hiking, etc. I didn’t notice any disturbing noise from traffic or upstairs that others described… I would say noise similar to most hotel environments.
Allan, the owner, was very kind and professional, and super quick to respond to any questions or needs we had- SO very appreciated!!
This property sufficiently met our needs for a quick trip to visit family. A big thank you to Allan and his wife!

Super convenient location, spacious and comfortable

Extras in Monrovia
We appreciated the extras for our long term stay in this apt: bedrooms and closets are large, plenty of hangars and storage space, desks for work stations, full-sized shampoo, etc were stocked in bathroom, which has a great hot and powerful shower. Another plus was the large smart TV. We brought our Roku to access more stations. Allan is a friendly host, who responded to any questions quickly. Two things to be aware of: some of the furniture has been changed out, so it’s not exactly as pictured. Also, this is a downstairs unit, so movement can be heard in the unit overhead.

Great Weekend Getaway

Nice homely apartment in quiet suburb.
My family of four enjoyed our stay in this apartment. It was clean and tidy and had all the amenities required. The location is great if you want to see more of LA than Hollywood. We were fortunate enough to find ourselves there on a Friday night which is when they have a community market in the main street. Well worth checking out.

Location location location!!!!
In town for Breeders Cup-at Santa Anita, so location was perfect for that! Plus walking to Old Town Monrovia was a plus and only 10 short minutes. Be aware that you are on the bottom of a two story rental and depending on who is upstairs it could be very noisy while you are trying to sleep. Owner was very nice and helpful!

Not a bad property, just needs a deep clean and some quiet neighbors.
The owners were really nice and the property is centrally located, but the property itself is in need of a deep clean. Perhaps they have high turnover and haven't had a chance to really clean in awhile, but the floor was not clean and there was dust and dirt in corners, crevices, baseboards, etc. I didn't mind that it was old, just wish it was cleaner. The reason for getting a vrbo is so that you can stay somewhere nicer than a hotel. In this case, I did not think it was nicer than a hotel. In addition, we had some very noisy neighbors upstairs. Since the house is old, you can hear everything. The upstairs neighbors would come home at 2am and sounded like a herd of elephants clomping on the floor for over an hour. After that, they turned on the tv! Needless to say, we didn't get much sleep. In a hotel, you could complain to the front desk. In a vrbo, there's not much you can do. I learned from this experience to stick with hotels.

Clean and comfortable, close to Old Town Monrovia.
Well maintained condo conveniently located near shopping, restaurants, coffee shops. We experienced a small glitch with California Power Company as they performed rescheduled maintenance during our stay. This left us without power for an entire day. Allan was very sympathetic to the problem and even offered us another condo nearby that had electricity. He actually brought us wine, chocolates and candles and refunded a portion of the daily rate because of the inconvenience. We would definitely recommend this property!

Nice space with plenty of room in convenient location.
Bedrooms, common area, and kitchen are spacious, clean, and well maintained. Bathroom is remodeled and modern. Property is within walking distance of quaint, downtown Monrovia and other nearby amenities, including grocery store and laundromat. Only issue my family had was with the front, concrete steps leading to the entry door, which didn't have a handrail--my mother was not able to negotiate these steps on her own and needed help getting into and out of the apartment. The steps are uneven, and without a handhold to assist her, she had trouble using them. Otherwise, this space was perfect for my family.

Beds were comfortable and location very good. The lighting in kitchen could do with some dimmers but we really enjoyed staying here and would stay again. The kitchen faucet needs replacing as we sprayed ourselves repeatedly. Owner was responsive to our questions.

Great place in a perfect location.
The house was clean, well stocked and walking distance to downtown Monrovia, and had easy access to highways as well.
Allan is extremely nice and there was a welcome sign on the door waiting for us when we arrived. I have family in the area, I will definitely book here again when I'm back in town!

We totally enjoyed our stay at this lovely remodeled rental. It was quiet and came with an outdoor space also. Allen was very helpful. It is the perfect location to walk to almost anywhere. We would rent again!

Great and Safe location
We really enjoyed our stay at this location! When I had a question the owner Allan answer my question right away! Don't hesitate to stay at this property! The AC worked great we were always cool! The TV and internet were also great to have! Thanks again, if I'm ever in the LA area we will stay here again no questions asked! Oh yeah we went hiking to the waterfall and it was great! We were all scared we were going to see a bear but thankfully we didn't LOL! One last thing parking wasn't a problem either. Parking was always available! Monrovia is also nice! Plenty of food and shopping choices. Thanks again Allan!

Great property!
Overall, the property was very nice. Super clean, plenty of room to accommodate all of us (party of 4), excellent seating area for visiting, plenty of towels, etc. in the bathroom, kitchen had just what you needed for a weekend stay and excellent parking (a premium in the LA area!). Bedrooms are a very nice size with large closets. Our hosts were very quick to respond to our questions and helpful. Many shops, restaurants, grocery stores are nearby (most within walking distance) so it's a good location and not far from the highway if you're travelling out of the Monrovia area. Since we have family in the area, we will be booking here again I'm sure! Thanks for the hospitality!

Comfortable and close to local amenities.
Accommodations were comfortable and close to many local downtown amenities. Hosts were very attentive to our needs during our stay. The home sits just off a highly traveled thoroughfare in downtown Monrovia as well as being located within walking distance of Old Town Monrovia, which has a Summer street fair and farmers market that is held on Fridays. Monrovia Canyon Park is a short drive to the site with a mostly shaded hike from the third parking lot to the waterfall. The Los Angeles Arboretum and Botanical Park is a must see!
