About this farm stay rental
Come and experience country life on our 130 acre property, surrounded by bushland, walking tracks, paddocks, farm animals, wild native animals and our commercial aquaponics system, where we produce the freshest herbs and greens you will ever taste!
Located in the Southern Highlands of NSW, each season brings new natural beauty. Each season needs to be experienced. From snow covered landscapes, to bursting blooms, vibrant coloured leaves and hot Aussie summers! Unique experiences await you.
We are about 15 minutes from Moss Vale and 25 minutes from Bowral. Both locations have ample opportunity to shop or dine out.
Our major hospital is located in Bowral.
As an operating farm, you are welcome to assist with some of the tasks around the property. From feeding the animals, rounding them up, learning how to build a farm fence, planting seedlings in our greenhouse, harvesting our herbs and greens, or maybe searching for a spectacular protea in our large protea garden.
Or, sit back and relax. A picnic around Wellspring Dam and garden, a walk around the property, rest on the rear verandah of the cottage, or take in the local attractions.
Cottage
Located privately on our property, you will immediately feel at home and experience a complete sense of calmness and relaxation once you arrive at the cottage.
A lovely red cedar cottage, completely renovated internally, with a new kitchen, new 1.5 bathrooms (one full and a half bathroom), lounge room.... completely new! You will not be disappointed.
There are 4 bedroom areas. Main bedroom with a queen sized bed, the second room with a double bed, with a single bunk bed above and also a pull out trundle bed.
Upstairs there is a loft area with two bedroom areas, each area has two single beds. A great retreat for 4 kids (or 4 adults).
There is a large front and rear verandah, the rear verandah overlooking a very private back yard, with a large solid timber table for 12 people. Plenty of lights and a heater outside too.
The lounge room is a cosy spot, with a wood heater, TV (Foxtel) a few lounges, where you can kick back and relax.
Pets are welcome. We charge a once off $30 pet fee. Please bring your own pets bedding. If your pet sleeps on our bedding we will charge a $350 bedding replacement fee.
What to do when you are here?
As with any holiday, it's really up to you how much or how little you do.
Families with kids will want to experience most of what is on offer.
Couples may want an intimate private getaway, go for walks, maybe a picnic.
So here are a few ideas for you.
Early morning, frost is still on the ground, and the animals are already stirring waiting to be fed! So it's up and out to the paddock to feed the horses, sheep, alpacas and goats! They will be your best friends while you are here.
Boots on, orientation map out, bottled water in your back pack, and you are off for a 10km bushwalk over to the gorge, through it if you are keen, and back again. Certainly only for the experienced bush walker that has prepared!
Packed picnic, a bottle of local Pinot Noir, cheese, crackers and a lunch hamper. You walk down to Wellspring Dam which is a dam that is fed by a very deep well in the centre of it. The water is crystal clear! We have added many beautiful trees around the dam and you can sit and take in the view. A beautiful setting for a couple!
Feeling game? Table tennis, pool, Kelly pool, darts.... you head down to the games room and have fun with the whole family. Big screen TV with the footy on.... or not! (Only a short 5 minute walk from the cottage, or 1 minute drive).
Gym junky? Head down to the games room and use the well-equipped gym. Free weights, and a gym machine. Then a 4km jog around the property, back to the cottage. Sit on the back deck with a nice cold bottle of water, and you are ready to tackle the day!
Feeling green today!? Work clothes on, work boots on and you're off to the greenhouse. 600 Zipgrow towers full of herbs and greens. The smell is amazing. Help plant a few herbs and greens, pick a few to use for your dinner tonight. Feed the silver perch fish. Maybe catch a silver perch for dinner tonight!!! You will be very satisfied helping out in the greenhouse.
Got a big group coming.... pull out the spit and crank up the fire... we are having a pig on the spit tonight!! Keeping an eye on the progress of the cooking during the day, over a beer or two!! Our spit can accommodate a large lamb/pig or side of beef.
The kids can hear the tractor coming!!! Time for a hay ride! We have a large farm tractor and a trailer we fill with hay to take the kids (and adults) for a hay ride around the property.
Sit around the bonfire, roasting marshmallows, telling a few stories, play the guitar and sing a few songs!! Nothing beats a great night under the stars sitting around a large camp fire!!

What a wonderful experience! Everything about this property was fantastic, the games room was a hit with the teenagers, the house was warm, cosy and relaxing. Frank and his family were so lovely and helped us to have a really cool farm experience with all his gorgeous animals. The location of the property was just spectacular. Thanks for having us we would absolutely come back again.

Fantastic hosts, location, facilities. Our group of 4 visited for a 2nd time at Morton Park hosted by Frank and his wonderful family. Our stay at the cabin was top class, added with spending time with everyone and Frank's family & friends at the famous 'Man Cave'. Cant recommend this spot enough and we will definitely be back again! 6 stars 🌟

We loved staying here.
It was beautiful and peaceful, and we really enjoyed the fireplace, roasting marshmallows in the rain.
The pictures don't do the place justice.
We went to say hello to the animals and feed the pig our veggie scraps on the way out.

The host were very welcoming and it was great to get away from the city and see the various farm animals and wildlife walking through the property. The games room was also very enjoyable

It was perfect for us to stay as we had a 70 th birthday party not far away. There is a games room near the main homestead which is a close walk from where we were staying, it was a shame we didn’t have time to use it .

We had a great time and used the games room and kitchen. Had a few extra not staying the night and frank was great

Morton Park Rural Retreat is located not too far away from the Hume Highway and therefore not too remote, but just far away to provide a blissful and quiet stay. The cottage we stayed in had great amenities and was comfortable enough to host a party of 10! The kids had fun feeding the farm animals and both adults and kids had a blast utilising their games room. Hosts were very friendly.

We were a group of 7 adults doing the southern highlands and south coast trip from Sydney. We had a great time staying overnight in the cosy cottage, especially with the fireplace (with firewood supplied) and cooking up a storm in the kitchen. It was raining on the day we arrived so we didn't explore the surroundings. We did have lovely weather the next morning and Renelee, the kids and their cat gave us the tour around the farm, showing us how to feed the horses, alpacas, pig and chickens. Some of my family were visiting from overseas and they had so much fun, it was a very memorable stay.

A very relaxing stay in this super cosy cottage. Surrounded by beautiful and very private bush land. The host family are very helpful and friendly. This is a great place for little & big kids alike.

It’s really excellent place for short holidays and to be away from busy life. Right in the middle of bushlands with abundant sunshine and natural beauty to make the days full of nature and beautiful things.

Fantastic weekend stay. Loved the wood fire (and supplied wood), fully equipped kitchen, comfy beds, deck, easy check in, responsive communication and privacy.
Instructions from owner and directions were very clear and easy to folllow.
As stated ladder to loft may be an issue for some but the reward of the warm room and view of the night sky is well worth the climb.
My only disappointment was I couldnt have a spa bath as there was no plug and the tap was broken 😕

We enjoyed our stay, so close to Moss Vale and Bowral yet you are nestled in this cabin in the middle of the woods. The game room was an awesome bonus!

Our family enjoyed staying at Morton Park Rural Retreat. The grounds and the animals were a big hit and the warm fire made the bunkhouse very cosy.

Me and 4 of my mates stayed here for a weekend to get out of the city and we thoroughly enjoyed the stay. The place was very clean and tidy and had everything you could need.
The overall layout is compact but makes use of space very well. As mentioned in previous reviews, the ladder leading up to the loft area isn't the easiest but we managed it fine. It would only be a problem if you REALLY struggled with ladders. The loft area is above the living room with x2 single beds at either end. Kitchen was fully equiped and had plenty of extra cups/plates/cutlery. The balcony was huge with a large wooden table looking over the fire pit with plenty of wood provided. The BBQ was nice and big and managed 5 peoples food no problem.
A lot of situations had been thought through like providing lanterns to walk to and from the games room for example. The games room was fantastic and we used this a lot of the time we were there. Tbh, it was a lot further away than what we thought it would be but we just drove back and forth which took maybe 3 or 4 mins with the gate. Walking it took about 12mins at an average pace.
Overall we thought the place was fantastic and will definitely be using Franks place for future getaways.

This stay was a great place for kids especially. We have four young boys, so it was great for them to be able to make fires, see the farm animals, and we couldn’t get them out of the games room! They also loved the loft area for the bedrooms. Only thing for us was that the recycle bin out the back on the porch wasnt emptied from previous guests, so we had no room to put our recycle rubbish while sitting out the back, and there was also a glass bottle left behind at the fireplace that could have been dangerous for our kids. Other then that, we had great communication from Frank, and it was a great stay, and we would happily return and recommend!

You have the peace and quiet of the cabin. Surrounded by trees, native animals and an abundance of beautifully coloured Rosellas. You’re less than half an hour from Bowral when you can enjoy the fine dining, friendliness of the people, and the best patisserie I’ve been too. The cabin is clean, no worrying smells which was my main concern. My other concern prior to booking was will I be able to take me 2 dogs. Every place we looked at had restrictions. Only 1 dog under 25kg. As previously mentioned I have 2 and 1 weighs 62kg. They are welcome here. The cabin is also fully equipped. I have zero hesitation in recommending this place to others.

We were very unlucky with the weather, but the cottage is quiet, private, and well-appointed with modern kitchen and HD Foxtel as well as a range of games, etc. A combustion stove and airconditioner help with the elements, and the games room is a big space useful for those rainy days! Moss Vale is under 15mins away and has everything you could need in terms of groceries, takeaway, etc. Hosts Frank and Renelee were super responsive to questions, and my teenagers enjoyed being "off grid" for a few days. Thanks Frank & Renelee and best wishes for 2023.

We had a great time at Morton Park. The place was lovely and warm when we got there with enough firewood for the whole weekend. The games room was definitely a hit with the kids and adults. The loft with its ladder was a great escape for the kids.
My only concern was not enough chairs in the kitchen area for us all to sit at.

Nice little cottage with good facilities. The only issue we had is that the description of the loft bedroom areas says 'upstairs'. Its actually a step ladder which is not the most practical for many age groups, especially in the dark.

The property was absolutely stunning, still that little cabin feel with ample room for us all. Really cosy get away and even our teenagers loved the interactions with the animals. The man cave was what really makes this place suitable for everyone. The games, the weights, the instruments. we all had a ball just hanging out.

Very cosy and homely lodge with a great fireplace and good amenities. It was raining during our stay but we had a great time roasting marshmallows, feeding the animals and enjoying the local wineries. Very enjoyable family stay.

Awesome winter getaway
We were impressed with the farm stay. The location was fantastic, the cottage was clean and sufficiently heated during the cold winter nights. The kids loved the games area and the opportunity to see some cute animals on the farm.

Fabulous
We had a wonderful stay here! The property was beautiful & tranquil. The cottage is very well presented, clean and had everything we needed. The large deck was the perfect place to have a barby, kick back and relax with a glass of wine. The animals gave us such a warm welcome which was a wonderful experience. The host were lovely. All in all it was fabulous weekend and we will definitely come back.

Terrible rat poison on the property damp and smells of urine and smoke
Terrible, I would never rent this place as it’s unsafe and doesn’t cater for guests with pets or caravans! It’s a cute cottage that lacks care and attention. It needs money spent on it to be oh&s approved however that won’t change the managers behavior as a single women traveling on her own - be careful booking here

Good time had by all
Weather wasn't great and it was muddy, but we enjoyed walking around the property, seeing the animals and using the game room. We loved having a fire and roasting a few marshmallows. You will not find a better host than Frank - an absolute legend.

Beautiful cottage in the woods
Beautiful cottage with modern kitchen and bathroom. The host family (Frank, Renelee and Bridgette) was down to earth and showed everything around. Lots of farm animals to interact with. Game room was great.
Will be back again.

The farm stay with it all
We had such a great time. The teens loved the loft bedroom, the toddlers loved the big open paddocks to run around in. We all enjoyed feeding the animals. Frank had so much to teach us about the animals and the farm.
We can not wait to go back and enjoy our evenings by the fire, our nights in the games room and the mornings with the animals.

Farm fun
We had a lovely time staying at the farm.
