About this cottage rental

This Tanque Verde Valley Desert Casa is situated on our 3.5 acres property in the north east area of Tucson. The Casa is adjacent to the main house where the owners live full time. We have been providing accommodations for visitors for over 8 years, most returning year after year. Our visitors have enriched our lives and become friends.
Our philosophy is to respect your privacy yet provide the amenities that make ones visit to Tucson exceptional..
The location, we believe, has the best of everything. The general neighborhood is rural in feeling with abundance of birds, hiking and a place for quiet relaxation. The Casa is within walking distance is Agua Calliente Park, a beautiful oasis , a special place for bird watching and short hiking. Additionally, there is a variety of wildlife with towering Saguaros on the property. Grocery shopping, drug stores and restaurants are short distance away. Downtown Tucson and the University of Arizona located about 20 minutes drive from the Desert Casa.
The Casa is about 800 square feet providing 3 rooms. A modern fully equipped kitchen, plus the spacious sitting and eating areas make up the great room. Large flat screen HD/TV and DVD player with a large supply of movies are provided. The separate bedroom has a Queen size bed, small fireplace and desk and closet. A bath off the bedroom features a shower.
The natural desert area provides a backyard fire pit, sitting areas and a panorama view of the desert and the Catalina Mountains. Out the front are views of the Rincon Mountains.

Beautiful cozy property. The hosts are very nice and attentive. They have thought of everything for the perfect stay and so many small details make it truly a southwest experience. Its in a beautiful quiet neighborhood. I highly recommend staying here!!!

I thoroughly enjoyed my stay. It was large, comfortable, peaceful, and lovely. There seemed to be anything household you could wish for to enhance your stay. You are surrounded by a natural area full of birds, rabbits, and the occasional chipmunk. This all frames an exceptional view of the mountains. The sunsets are beautiful and the view is largely uninterrupted by development. Sara and Ralph are very helpful when needed, and generous with their time.

We stayed in Tucson for just over a week, to spend time with friends (also visiting) and explore the region. Our casa was by far the best one of the 4 rentals! The casa is fully stocked so that I was able to easily cook for 6 people when our friends came for dinner one evening. We enjoyed the back terrace and the beautiful view of the mountain range. It was so cool to see the bobcat that roams back there! We traveled with our dog and the park (Agua Caliente) is a wonderful oasis for the neighborhood. We walked our dog there almost every day and saw many birds. Loved all the hiking that is relatively close to the casa, particularly those in the National Forest where dogs are allowed on the trails. Book this place, you will not regret it!

This property is beautiful with the perfect hosts! Ralph and Sara were attentive to our needs and very quick to respond to our questions or needs. This place was the perfect size for our travels and provided all that we needed and more! I would rent this property again if we return to this area.

We loved having coffee each morning sitting outback looking at Mt. Lemmon, all the birds, rabbits, and even a deer. The owners were wonderful and we had everything we needed for our stay.

I absolutely loved this place! I have traveled quite a bit and this is one of my favorites of all time. It was the perfect place for me - it was quiet and private - the hosts were wonderful. I felt like I had my own little desert to explore!!! I actually could not believe how nice it was. I can't wait to get back!

Sara and Ralph were very helpful and accommodating. The guesthouse is tastefully decorated with well equipped kitchen and firm comfortable bed. Windows everywhere for sunrise, sunset, and mountain views. Enjoyed the outdoors area, wildlife, and also table, lounge chairs and fire pit. Good location for the areas we wanted to explore. We'd come again!

This was a lovely, quiet, comfortable place for me to focus on finishing a year-end project with welcome breaks for long walks or hikes nearby with my dog. I hope to be able to return next winter for another stay.

Guesthouse was plenty of space for my wife, dog, and I. Property was very peaceful, very neat to see/hear coyotes in the evening and local birds in the morning. Internet was solid for working remote while the kitchen was very well stocked. Location was great, about one mile from the local Agua Caliente Park and 20-25mins drive to downtown and some of the major hikes/parks. Hosts were very gracious and accomodating. Highly recommend

Hosts Sara & Ralph were most hospitable to my husband, myself and our small dog. We enjoyed the casita’s well equipped kitchen, comfortable living and dining room, and slept better than babies in the cozy bed. A highlight for us was watching the variety of birds visiting bird feeders. Occasionally at night we could hear the coyotes jabbering in the distance. The casita provided us quiet and comfort in a lovely setting. We would return in a heart beat.

Sara and Ralph were so very helpful and accommodating as I was escaping the smoke, fire, heat and raining ash of Northern California and made a very last minute reservation. There is a lovely yard with a birdbath and bird feeders that are visited by many beautiful and interesting desert dwelling animals. I saw roadrunners, javelina, mule deer, hawks, rabbits, quail and countless birds, chipmunks and ground squirrels eating and drinking which provided a lot of entertainment. There are beautiful views of the Catalina Mountains and the sunset from the back of the cottage. You can take a quiet walk on the roads to Agua Caliente Park. The interior is well appointed with everything I needed for a very comfortable stay for myself and my dog. It was extremely hot in Tucson when I visited -over 100 degrees every day - but I was able to stay cool and comfortable inside with the air conditioning units, ceiling fans and floor fans that are provided. I would highly recommend this location and would definitely return!!
