We are two seniors with a small dog. The house was exactly as described, beautiful view, private beach easily reached by wooden steps which were easy to use (we are quite old and have issues walking and we had no problems, even our timid small dog was fine). We saw eagles almost every day, seals twice..
The house had everything we needed, was sparklingly clean when we arrived, very easy to live in,. Maine vacation at its best!

We really enjoyed our stay. Quiet and humble Maine is best. The place fit our needs and we enjoyed our stay a lot. It would have been nice to have a queen size bed like listed instead of the two fulls. Also, getting grass cut is fine, but not having it bagged and leaving all the clippings in the yard make it very difficult to keep gras clippings from getting into the home. Something we can't control, but the landscaper's equipment can. Other than that, the place is fine and will fit everyone's needs, but maybe not their likes. It is a bit more camp/cottage feel than vacation home. Maybe the price reflects that a little, maybe not. Depends on you.

Our family had a wonderful time at 'Perrydise'. The sunrises were magnificent and kids had a spectacular time combing the beach and collecting treasures. We all had a great time watching the lobster boats and sea animals (we had a seal pop by each day). The cottage is quaint and had pretty much everything we needed for our week there. The only small suggestion for improvement would be if the view from the deck was more like that from the pictures on VRBO; when we were there the bushes were so tall that you really couldn't view the beach just the water from the back deck. All in all a lovely place to rest & relax while on vacation.

A wonderful home in a unique and beautiful place. We biked and kayaked most days for 2 weeks. Whale watching from Eastport, watching the tides in local preserves, reading and unwinding, all very relaxing. We would highly recommend this spot for anyone who wants to find peace and quiet.

Wonderful location in Perry, Maine that provides peace, privacy, and a beautiful view. Ideally situated for day trips to Canada, neighboring towns; Eastport, Lubec, and so much more.
Spend your days on the beach searching for sea glass, sand dollars, while lobster boats pass by in Fundy Bay. This is an ideal spot to have the perfect Maine experience. We loved it!

Overall, we had a great stay at the cottage. The property is very private and comfortable. I slept better at night than I have in a long time! Enjoyed the shorefront and never saw another soul on it. Our only issue was upon arrival - there were carpenter ants on the floors, walls and ceilings - obviously a recent outbreak. We spent a couple of hours killing and sweeping them up, not how we anticipated our first few hours. Within 24 hours they had mostly disappeared - I believe the property had been treated for them as a number of them died on their own. We did not have any issues for the remainder of the week. Despite that issue, we enjoyed our stay at Perrydise.

An Isolated Perrydise!
Peace, a view that extends for miles, and extremely private. Walk to rocky beach (down stairs inaccessible for persons with disabilities) and let go of all stress, staring out at the sea. Simple, very comfortable home (beds/furniture). Enjoyed a campfire on the beach and walking along the purplish shoreline. Kitchen well-stocked. Fridge needs a replacement bar to keep bottles on the door, but hey, duct tape works pretty well. That was only aspect that wasn't top notch. The loveliest of tranquil getaways and Eastport is an artsy, nearby town that provides take-out if you want to come out of the cocoon - even has its own craft brewery and a really good milk stout (according to my husband). Was a dream to be able to enjoy this sanctuary with our dog. Thank you, Averil!!!

The location is absolutely beautiful just incredible. The house is well kept and the owners are top-notch. I don't believe you could find a prettier location or better and more attentive owners. My heart is grateful to have experienced being there. Looking forward to coming back

Peaceful and Relaxing
The view from this property is amazing. We spent any free minute we had watching the light reflect on the water and the tide rolling in and out. There were two eagles which we saw multiple times per day and two seals who swam by nightly. Building bonfires on the beach at night was a cool experience to share as a family. The interior of the house had everything we needed during our stay and there was ample space for our family of four. The property gave us the privacy and seclusion we were seeking while offering proximity to food and gas.

Beautiful & Peaceful
Lovely views of Passamaquoddy Bay and New Brunswick coast, stars, and sunrise. Private & undisturbed — we didn’t see anyone during our two-week stay; just seals, hummingbirds, and an occasional eagle. Kids spent hours exploring the beach. House was clean, tidy, and well equipped and managed. Great deck for watching the light and the tides change.

Very relaxing and absolutely gorgeous views!
We arrived with two big teen boys (17), two dogs, and a little girl (6)... the house was very clean and charming. Plenty of space for everyone, spectacular views from the living room, dining room and spacious deck. Plenty of grassy area for my little one to play with the dogs, sturdy wooden steps down to the rocky beach where the boys made a fire and we searched the tide-pools for crabs, urchins, starfish, sand-dollars and beach glass. During our stay we saw eagles, seals & loons. The whole week we were there, we never saw another person on the beach. Very relaxing, and the owners were super friendly and helpful. Can't say enough good things about this place! One caveat, the rocks can be sharp so we found water shoes, and old "crocs" saved our feet during beach time. Will definitely return, hopefully sooner than later!

Paradisiaque

fantastic
Spent a week at Perrydise and the name does not disappoint. Beautiful view of the bay and the countless lobster traps. Saw a humming bird, a bald eagle, countless comorants and loons, and a seal (every evening about 6-7 pm). In our week there, we saw 3 people on the entire stretch of the beach. The beach immediately below the house is rocky, but there are nice sandy parts just a short walk along the water. The owners/manager are extremely responsive - I e-mailed the manager one afternoon and the care-taker was at the cottage in less than 2 hours. Can't wait to go back.

Maine at its very best
Superb location on the shore of the Passamaquoddy Bay in authentic Downeast Maine. Wake up early for the most beautiful sunrise in the US and spend the day walking the beach, reading and relaxing, and strolling through nearby Eastport. Be sure to stop at Rosie's on the breakwater for an unforgettable hotdog or Quoddy Bay Lobster for one of Maine's top-rated lobster rolls.

Heaven on earth!
Spent 2 weeks in Perrydise, but before we left we reserved our weeks for next summer. This cottage is a very special and magical place. It's warm and welcoming and has everything you need. You may spend a few days exploring the area, but will soon realize the best place to be is right at home in Perrydise. We walked the rocky beach exploring and finding sea glass, watching loons and Eagles, but best of all we were in the water almost every day. Surprisingly the water was warm enough to stay in for long soaks and floats when the tide was in. Best vacation we have had in a long time and best find on VRBO. Hope you enjoy your vacation as much as we did ours!

Your Own Private Piece of the Bay
The only things to see from this cottage are beautiful sunrises, moon rises, bald eagles flying by, loons, harbour seals (there was a pair that would swim one way in the morning and back the other way in the evening) and lobster boats. Well, not really true because there were also hummingbirds, great blue herons, catbirds, kayaks, sail boats, fish farms and Canada. What you will not see are neighbours (you may catch a glimpse when the trees loose their leaves).
The cottage is clean and had about everything we expected. The cottage was uncluttered and comfortable (could use maybe a love seat in the living room).
We all enjoyed Eastport. We bought lobsters literally "right off the boat" at Quoddy Bay Lobster and it was probably the best I've ever eaten. Eastport Windjammers, although missing the "windjammer" still offers a fun and interesting whale watch/ tour.
If you bring your own boat there is a very good (and very long and steep) launch ramp a few minutes away (be aware you will not likely be able to launch or retrieve within an hour or two of low tide (about 20ft tide remember).
The rest I'll leave for you to discover. If you are looking for quiet and the beauty of the nature and the sea then I highly recommend Perrydise.

Life in Rural Maine on the Ocean
This is a little gem located in Perry Maine, We rented it for a week and it was fabulous. The view is absolutely breathtaking. Each morning we would watch the lobster boats, we watched the sail boat races to St. Andrews and the tankers going out to see. The house is very quiet and peaceful. Even with fireworks going on outside we could not hear them inside. Wonderful shower with lots of hot water, the bath has been completely renovated. i would recommend this to anyone looking to stay in the area. I grew up in Perry but somehow never knew this really existed. I cannot say enough about it. Clean, everything you need is there!!!!
