Highly recommend. Our extended family group loved our stay at Sawyer Summer House. The location was great for access to the beach and we loved the peaceful, woody neighborhood and area surrounding the property.
The house had plenty of space for our group, and it was nice for the kids to be able to hang out downstairs.
The kitchen was well stocked, which made it a great experience to prepare family dinners after a day at the beach, and enjoy them on the outside patio.
The hot tub and fire pit were awesome.
The hosts were amazing with quick communication. We unfortunately got a nail in our tire during the trip, and they went above and beyond with helping us navigate the issue. Top notch good samaritans that we were extremely grateful for.
Would definitely return.

Size was great for our family. We enjoyed mornings in the sunroom, the hot tub, basketball court and fire pit. One note --the bath tub upstairs could use some more non-slip strips. It's quite slippery for showers. Otherwise, we had a wonderful week.

The layout of the house was great for our group- there is 3 bedrooms in the lower level and a ping pong table and a movie area where the younger people stayed and played their video games and watched movies Upstairs there is three bedrooms where the grownups stayed. The kitchen was very well stocked. The hot tub was very relaxing and we had a fire pit one night and made s’mores. We contacted the host about the beach chairs and they had a neighbor take them out of the garage for us right away. Would definitely stay here again, we had a great time.

Our family really enjoyed our stay at this house. Great location for beach, restaurants, orchards, and all the towns in southwest Michigan. Would definitely stay here again.

Our family had a great trip and overall enjoyed the house and property. The location was fantastic and we were close to all of our favorite spots.
The yard and basketball hoop were great for the kids to play. The adults enjoyed the patio space. The interior of the house offered plenty of space for us to spread out and the kitchen was a great size to prepare and serve meals. We loved being able to gather at the table to eat and play games.
A few things to note. Upon arrival there there was an old disposable mask very visible in the front landscaping that you walked right by to access the keypad. When we walked around back to enter the home, there were leftover toys/bug catchers on the patio tables. Once inside, we were greeted with old/empty hand sanitizer bottles in the kitchen window and a very dirty dish scrub and badly used sponge by the sink. These things did not make a great first impression. We moved the items out of site, but had to run to the store to purchase new sponges as well as hand soap. The bathrooms also did not have any hand soap. The rest of the house was ok. Nothing stood out as super dirty, but it wasn't spotless either.
We have stayed in many vacation rentals over the years and this one was just ok. Nothing was bad enough to message the owner upon arrival. We had a great trip and the space worked out perfectly for our family, however we would not stay here again just based on personal preferences.

Downstairs was great for kids. The kitchen was very well stocked. I liked being close to Warren Dunes, but the proximity to the large road made it noisy to be outside. Bathroom on main floor was too small for two bedrooms and the water in that shower was only lukewarm.

Overall the house and yard were great. The grandkids had a ball in the yard and the adults enjoyed the hot tub. We also had fires in the pit on several nights. We are very big beach people and it was not a short walk to the beach. Especially if you were carrying anything. It was ok though as I had bought all my kids state park passes for Christmas.
Upon arrival my 9 year old grandson had to go to the bathroom. The first one he went into had the toilet bowl full of toilet paper. He decided not to use it but went to another one instead. My wife tried to flush it and it just filled with water. There was a plunger and I tried to plunge it with no use. I called Chris and he said he would get ahold of his plumber. In the mean time I found a different plunger in the master bath and tried it. After several attempts it worked. As I was looking for my phone to call Chris back he called to say the plumber was in the area and would be there shortly. I let him know it was not needed after all. The only other issue was that upon arrival I'm not sure the floors were all that clean. One of my sons showed up shortly after us and he said the floors felt sandy. He proceeded to sweep in every room and came away with a nice size pile of sand in every room on the main floor.
Again, my family had a great week and the owner was very responsive when needed.

We had an amazing time with our friends (that are more like family) this weekend. The home is exactly what I would want my Michigan home to be!! It is cozy and perfect for a gathering! The movie room, ping pong table, fire pit, and hot tub put it over the top in our book!

We absolutely loved the Sawyer Summer House for our extended family vacation! The house had everything we needed plus some!
I was very pleased to find plenty of dish soap, cleaning supplies, and trash bags as well as a few cooking essentials already stocked when we arrived!
We loved Cherry Beach, but would recommend going early to reserve a parking spot as it fills up quickly in season.
Our hosts were very quick to respond to questions (even though we weren’t the easiest to get ahold of! We were vacation mode, haha!) and addressed any questions or concerns we had immediately!
We hope to rent again next summer as it was the perfect property for our large family!
PS: the WiFi is super strong and every streaming app available on the smart tv’s and projector was a huge perk for our tween! He didn’t complain once, which is a miracle for a teenager!

Very clean. Very well stocked kitchen. The kids loved the hot tub. We played ping pong so much we went out and bought new paddles. We all loved the bonfire. Bring mosquito spray. Refrigerator was very big. There were 15 or us ( 4 families). Lots of room. Handy washer and dryer. AC worked fine. Beaches are all close...Harbert (small) and Cherry beaches were great but be warned...plenty of stairs. Warren Dunes close by....super hot sand...wear shoes! Side trips to New Buffalo and Three Oaks. Lots of Antiquing. Sun room in the morning for coffee and gathering . Thumbs up.

Easy access to the beach. Or spend time in the back yard with a hot tub and fire pit!

Had a great stay. Lots to do both on the property and around the area.
Main floor shared bathtub was really slippery, so step in with caution.
The kids loved the beach and s’mores around the backyard fire pit.
Would definitely come back again.

The house itself was nice and the people were excellent to work with. However the floors were not clean. We had to sweep up dirt etc and still had dirty feet and socks.

Very accommodating place. Basketball court, ping pong table and hot tub were big hits with kids and the rest of my family. Very responsive host as well. We’ll go back!

The house fits its description very accurately. It is very well equipped, and deceptively spacious. The yard is wonderful. We enjoyed many a campfire. We did have to get firewood as the property’s firewood was wet and not split therefore it just would not catch. We were somewhat bothered by the noise from the nearby highway but all in all, our group agreed the house worked out very nicely for our group. We highly recommend the beach at the end of Harbert Road, just about five minutes away . It’s beautiful, very clean and not at all crowded. We preferred it to Warren Dunes though children do love to climb the dunes. Thank you to our hosts for a wonderful vacation,

Covid-19 issues prevented our family from celebrating during Christmas. So, we decided to have Christmas in June. We were so fortunate to find an exceptionally clean home to accommodate our family of 10, very comfortably, at the Sawyer House. Our hosts were kind and very responsive.
Our favorite things were spending time reconnecting around the spacious, nicely manicured back yard with enough deck furniture to accommodate everyone. A quick walk through the woods, (or a short drive to carry all of our beach stuff) to Warren Dunes was a plus.
Our hosts were kind and very quick to respond when needed.
We had such a great time in this beautiful home, that we decided to go back next year. We all highly recommend the Sawyer House!!

It was the perfect spring getaway for my friend and our 4 boys (ages 9 - 13). The boys enjoyed the basketball court, fire pit, ping pong table, projection TV and hot tub. We enjoyed a day at the Warren Dunes which was just a short drive. The kitchen was well-stocked and the beds were very comfortable. The house has a warm and welcoming feel and the check-in and check-out process was seemless. The owner was very responsive.

We went to Michigan for our annual family Apple Picking excursion. Our group included my husband and myself, our two daughters and their 2 children. The layout of the house was perfect. The rooms were clean and comfortably decorated. Due to Covid we cooked all our meals in and the kitchen had everything that we needed. There were games, a ping pong table, a cute tree house, basketball hoop, and a hot tub. And a extra large projection TV where we shared movie time. Even though the weather is chilly we usually venture to the Dunes to climb Mt Baldy. The house was located perfectly for that and it is also close to many other cute beaches. The layout lent itself for as much togetherness as you want and enough privacy as each of our little families might need. A very easy check in and check out and very clear directions, instructions and suggestions from the owners 5 Star all the way.

What a beautiful house and property to spend a long weekend with friends. The kids loved the all the fun options - the treehouse, basketball court, games and toys....and the 3-season room was fantastic for the adults after the kids were all in bed. The house is very well stocked, clean, and just adorable.

This property exceeded our expectations with all of the comforts of home. We take a trip to Michigan every year for my husbands birthday with a few friends and their children. In years prior we've had houses that were true "rentals". This house has a "home" feeling to it without feeling like someone else's home. The yard was great for games and basement was awesome for the kids to curl up at night and watch movies while the adults were able to relax.
