About this house rental
Remodeled this past year, this is THE cabin in Munds Park! You'll know you are at the right place when you see situated atop the hill this majestic 3-story cabin peaking through the pine trees...and you will quickly see why it is known by the locals as 'The Castle in The Pines'. The cabin is 3600sf of breathtaking views. 3 stories, each with enormous wrap-around decks offering views of the serene lake, towering mountains, and pines as far as the eye can see. We are close to everything, but without sacrificing the peace & quiet we all seek when escaping to Munds Park. The 'Castle in the Pines' is a true 5-bedroom, each with a king or queen bed and a bunk-room with a divider. Two of the rooms are Master Suites with private decks, en-suite full bathrooms & shower & tubs! The Castle sleeps 14 comfortably in beds, and then couches & air-mattresses for up to 17 total max capacity, inc kids. We have a folding crib, a pack-n-play, and other baby-friendly amenities. On the first floor is a game room with pool table, ping-pong, appleTV, 65' new plasma TV, Dish, WiFi & all the best board games, fireplaces, wet-bar kitchenette with sink, wine fridge, and mini-fridge. Head out to the deck, grill some burgers and enjoy a game of bean bag-toss & giant Chess. Wind down on the deck at night with a glass of wine and enjoy the unparalleled star-gazing in the clear night sky! We have owned the cabin for 17 years and we still use it regularly. If you like to explore, hit the Crystal Point Trail minutes away, or head into Flagstaff and enjoy the ped-mall and there are festivals and concerts just about every weekend (20 minute drive). A short drive to Sedona (30-45 minutes); Grand Canyon (2-3 hrs); local casino (30 min) or Las Vegas (~4 hrs); even Phoenix and D-backs baseball games only 90 minutes! Amazing trails to hike; ATV's to rent; historic ghost-towns.....seriously it's ALL here you cannot find a better family vacation in a better place at a better cabin at this price. NOTE: Any requests for 13 or more people and/or less than 3 nights (1 or 2) are subject to case-by-case pricing. The best value around!

Nice big property and good for a family event.

The home worked well for our reunion. We had five siblings and there is ample space for all. Really enjoyed the outdoor decks with plenty of furniture for all...thank you

Great location and with great outdoor spaces.

Be prepared for the hill, it’s quite steep. Weather was beautiful, neighborhood was very quiet, house had everything we needed as far as towels, linens, kitchen wear. We had a great time! The house manual was a little outdated, but the Hosts were very communicative before, during, and after when we thought we lost some items. I would definitely recommend, and we will definitely be back!

Great location, very clean and loved the outdoor porches! Would definitely come back again! Just be prepared for a steep driveway.

This was the perfect cabin for our family to stay in while attending NAU graduation. It was well stocked and had a lot of space for everyone. There are three levels with hang out places on each level. We enjoyed making a fire in the fireplace and walking down to the lake to fish. The foldable crib and pack and play were nice to have for the kids. We'll definitely come back.

We greatly enjoyed our stay. The home was very clean upon our arrival and the beds were comfortable. Our host was very helpful.
and kept us informed. As we traveled to the property he informed us of a pending snowstorm. The next day we lost power, and he kept us updated with information from APS Power. The snowstorm and power outage just added to our adventure. We found plenty to do at the house and the downstairs fireplace kept us warm. On the last day another storm hit the area and he told us we could leave later than the expected checkout time. We appreciated his help and information. There is plenty to do in the Sedona area. I would recommend this property and hope to return some day.

We had an amazing stay! First family trip to a cabin and it exceeded our expectations.
Also first time using Vrbo/or anything like it and the owners answered all of my questions. They made it very easy.
Check in was super easy too and a good quiet neighborhood.

The trip was everything I could have asked for myself and my friends. The forecast had little to no snow while we were there, and then a big snow storm came but it was beautiful! The property owners were very responsive and helped out with all of our potential needs.
Lastly, there were so much room and games for everyone, 10/10!

This was such a treat. As I exhaustively stated to the owners, my father built this cabin in the mid 80s. It was a real treat to go back and visit for a weekend (his 80th birthday!).
The owners were very communicative and courteous throughout and everyone had a wonderful stay. We WILL be back! Highly recommend!! Close to a lake, lots to do outdoors and unbeatable views!

Our family had the most wonderful time at this home. It was spacious while also cozy & the Christmas decor was very thoughtful of the hosts. We’ll definitely return!
4.8
Three levels of comfort for family and friends. Floor one: loud games and easy access to outside; floor two: great cooking and fireside chats and Scrabble; level three: books and naps! All levels have amazing deckage! Lake is great. Hikes are as easy or tough as you need. Trees everywhere! So grateful that this amazing cabin is rented out. Gracious owners indeed.

The property is beautifully set among the tall pine trees of Northern AZ. The house had everything we needed to enjoy our stay while we were in Munds park attending a wedding. Plenty of towels, blankets and kitchen stuff to sit back and thoroughly enjoy our stay. The patio was large with plenty of chairs that we could all enjoy or breakfast on the patio.

This house was the perfect place for our family group of ten (ages 3-70!)
Beautiful location, spacious enough that we could spread out when needed, but incredibly comfortable and cozy! The location was great for day trips to Sedona and the Grand Canyon. Highly recommend!
4.8
The beautiful three story cabin provided ample space for the whole extended family. It was nice to get away for a few days from the hustle and bustle of the city. The close proximity of the lake allowed us to spend the day fishing and paddle boarding.

We had a fabulous time at the Castle in the Pines! It was the perfect place for eight girlfriends to relax and gather together in this very spacious and well appointed home. We loved sitting outside on the many decks available. Lake Odell was right at the bottom of the hill and the surroundings were beautiful for our daily walks. The owners were quick to respond to handle any questions or issues that we had. We highly recommend this place and hope to return some day!

The host was very easy to work with and responsive. The cabin was beautiful and fit our 5 couples perfectly. Played ping pong, sat enjoying the crisp morning weather and made great memories. Nice areas to take walks. Perfect rental you will not be disappointed.

Perfect accommodations for our small cousins reunion of nine. Comfortable Rooms, beds and baths for everyone. Plenty of spaces for gathering. Great size kitchen. Well stocked/supplied throughout all areas. Beautiful spot in the pines!

This was a peaceful stay in the cool temps, and we are grateful that you opened your house for us to enjoy. The driveway is no joke, it’s steep, but we felt empowered after conquering it, like a badass, lol. We used the slope to our advantage, walking up and down both sides for a 20 minute exercise.
Thanks again, to the homeowners.

Munds park is a sunday and this cabin is the cherry on top.

We had a group of 11 (ages 9 to 19 and 35 to 65). Everyone had a wonderful time. There was plenty to do in and out of the home. Everyone enjoyed the lake and caught tons of fish. The home was beautiful and relaxing. The host was available and quick to respond and was very courteous. We had a wonderful time.

Property was nice, a lot of room inside

This is a beautiful home that is comfortable, clean and has owners who are very easy to work with. I would definitely stay here again.
My only concern would be navigating the steep driveway during the winter months. The owners mention this in the proper description.

We had such an amazing time. We wanted to take our family on a little vacation here in town. So happy to find this gem.
We really had the opportunity to fish, play pool(which our boys had no idea Dad was a killer pool player), cook good food and really unwind in this incredible house.
The host was so responsive and sweet!
We will definitely be back!
Thanks for sharing your beautiful home and allowing us to make family memories we will cherish forever!

This is a beautiful neighborhood and home to stay during your visit to Flagstaff or Sedona. We enjoyed the local sites as much as the house. We ran into an issue with the internet near the end of our stay and Kevin was super helpful with helping to resolve the issue. He updated us that there was a known issue with the internet in the area and the internet company was working to resolve the issue.

My daughter and I had our birthday weekend up there with some friends and family and we loved every minute of it.

Lovely home. Our stay was very clean and comfortable. Easy instructions. Plenty of space with cozy fireplace. The kitchen is stocked with every kitchen gadget you need. The host and owners are kind and respond quickly to your questions. Our family will be back again to stay here. We come out to Flagstaff quite a bit for the snow and by far this one was your favorite cabin. We enjoyed our Saturday at Flagstaff snow park, which was only 15 -20 minutes away. Can’t wait to plan our next trip here.

Such a beautiful cabin in a great location. Stayed for a quick weekend get away with the kids and my parents. We call this the Hallmark Christmas Cabin because you will feel like you are in a Hallmark movie when staying here. We loved that the Christmas trees were still up. Everyone was taking pictures. There is a view of the lake from the front balcony. Gorgeous.
Plenty of room for everyone to relax and the kids loved the room with the bunk beds. Only a 15 min drive to Flagstaff. The owners are great to work and communicate with. Top notch. Of all the rentals we have stayed, this was by far my favorite. Looking forward to booking again in the spring.

We stayed here along with our two family friends and their kids ranging from 1-10 years old!. All three couples were able to stay in a king bedroom with their own bathroom, while the kids stayed in their own bunk room and had their bathroom right next to their room. We arrived on a Tuesday and stayed until Friday and never had to leave the cabin- we had fresh snow for the kids to enjoy and the perfect family room to hang out in. Our kids are already asking when we can go back. The driveway was a little challenging because of the snow- but owners were super helpful and had it plowed and we were able to park at the end of the driveway- overall highly recommend!

This home was perfect for our large family. The house was decorated for Xmas and the owners left a beautiful welcome basket with treats and spirits for us to enjoy. The cribs, high chair, multiple beds in the large bedrooms made is easy for families to share the space. Our entire family enjoyed the game room with a couch that could seat many of us. The kitchen had so many amenities which made it easy to feed our large group. We had a snow storm one morning and the owners were quick to have the driveway plowed for us as soon as the roads were clear. We managed to figure out the driveway and had enough parking both at the top and bottom. The driveway is steep but became a great sledding hill for the kids (sleds provided by the owners).
Thank you for a great Xmas holiday. Would love to come back in the Spring or Fall for a different experience.

We thoroughly enjoyed the home. Plenty of room for our group of 12 with comfortable amenities. House was well stocked with essentials and Owner was quick to communicate. Was nice that lake is a short walk and access to OHV trails is very close also. Not a lot of amenities in Munds Park, so plan on traveling to Flagstaff for groceries and restaurants. As mentioned in description, driveway is very steep so access to garage would be next to impossible if it was icy or snowy, and even access to house would be very difficult in these conditions. But if the weather and driveway are clear this is an awesome place to stay!

Another perfect stay with this cabin. Thank you!

This property was beautiful, spacious enough for our large family to each have a bed, and not feel overcrowded.
The home is a short walk to the lake, and a 15-30 minute drive to Flagstaff and Sedona.
There are several entertainment areas from a large deck to a lower level with a ping pong table and bar to a main kitchen and living room.
I would definitely recommend this property!!!

The property was beautiful and exactly as it looked in the pictures. Very clean and well organized with a lot of amenities provided including kitchen items which made if very easy to have meals at the house. Appreciated the extra care they had to recognize our special occasion by leaving happy birthday napkins and a bottle of "bubbly" to start our trip off right. Very easy to work with to schedule our trip and stay in touch with us throughout our trip to ensure we had everything we needed. We had 7 people in our group and the size of the house and bathrooms gave everyone their own space so never felt crowded. Love all the sitting areas and took advantage of the deck, game room and main living room area for games and great discussions. We even had a chef come in to furnish a special birthday dinner and we were able to relax in the game room while dinner was being prepared which was great. Would definitely recommend and return in the future. The only thing we did have to work around was the driveway. We had a large van to transport our group and getting up and down the driveway was difficult. We ended up parking the van at the bottom and walking down which was not convenient. Other than that, we found the entire setting to be amazing and loved out time in the Munds Park area. Thanks for your hospitality, Karen.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the cabin. The owners were great communicators, very accommodating and great to work with.
The cabin has everything we needed. Just the right size for our family. We will definitely stay here again.

This was a family vacation of two (2) families and the property was big and perfect for our combined vacation. Close to various venues/places, i.e. Grand Canyon, Flagstaff, Sedona and Jerome City, etc. There is a lot to do in the surrounding areas and Munds Park is a beautiful place to relax. This home has everything you need if you just want to stay and enjoy the peaceful scenery, grill or enjoy the three-story cabin with its amenities and large places inside/outside to hang out. Our families highly recommend this property. The owners are very nice and responsive. 5 STARS!

The house was big and beautiful. Love that the house has everything we needed for cooking and everything in between. The location was great from Phoenix to Grand Canyon. Great space and plenty of room for everyone. One day we hope to go back.
4.8
Home was perfect for parents, kids and grandkids. Something for everyone
4.8
Communication was good, owner reached out with detailed check in process. Neighborhood is quiet and view is spectacular. Home was equipped with everything we needed. Only slight problem we had (2) is no air conditioning and the property is a little older. There was sand on the floor in the closet, there were cups in the cupboard that were dirty, and built up dust in the vents on the stove and refrigerator and dishwasher. The lights didn't work outside, and it had a very musty smell when we arrived. We had to open all the windows and doors to air it out significantly.
Overall, a beautiful stay and we enjoyed our time.
