Enjoyed a relaxing and peaceful few days before school started. Very nice home with everything you need.

Our family time at Lakeside Lodge had several disappointing aspects.
1. We visited the property we reserved in early March as we wanted to check it out before our June rental. We saw numerous houseboats and texted Tom to ask about them. He replied that they would be gone by early April.
They most definitely were not!! There was a huge blue houseboat directly across from our dock and there were at least 20-25 others between us and the marina. We felt very misled!! It looked like a trailer park on water and NOT attractive at all. We have stayed for the last 3 summers on Lake Lure and we will definitely be back there next year- NOT interested in another stay with so many houseboats!!
2. Our cabin had apparently been painted the day before we arrived as there was a "wet paint" sign on the porch post as we arrived. The deck chairs were all stacked up on the front porch and the middle deck on top of the hot tub which were difficult to get back down. There were 2 big outside trashcans in the lower den, along with an outside bench that took 2 of us to get back outside. Also, the painters must have smoked a LOT because there were dirty ash trays on the bottom deck and the table looked like it had not been washed in months. I took a picture of the nasty paper towels I used to clean them up but can't figure out how to add them here. The deck cushions didn't look like they had been wiped down in months.
3. Dock area had 5 big tree size logs floating around-very unattractive!!

The place had a great view and sitting inside worked great for our group. We wish the kitchen was a little bigger. Also one of the downstairs room did not have the extra bed in it.

We enjoyed this part of the lake, less traffic. The kayaks and hot tub were nice additional amenities. Tom was quick to respond to all our needs.

Great house/ Lots to do!
We had a great renting experience. The property owner was always quick to answer any questions we had and I felt like there were so many things to do at the house. There was a great, clean hot tub, the gaming system downstairs, board games, and even some outside games like corn hole. We had a great time and couldn’t have asked for better!

Great Property with Awesome Kayaks
This property worked excellently for a family reunion/vacation. The number of rooms and bathrooms were great and all in clean shape. The kitchen is well stocked which made cooking for a large group easier. We absolutely loved the kayaks! The lake is wonderful and so relaxing. Many of us enjoyed our morning coffee on the deck with peaceful views.

Beautiful lake and a wonderful stay!
The lake was so peaceful during the day and even a beautiful sight at night either by the fire or in the hot tub! Plenty of games for entertainment and easy location to find.

Family Vacation
We enjoyed our stay at Lakeside Lodge. Having direct access to the lake was important to our family and we spent most of our time in and around the water. Since kayaks were included as part of the rental we did not have to bring our own which was a huge plus. They were in constant use as was the boat we rented.
The kitchen was a bit small for cooking for a crowd but it was very well stocked with more than the basic tools of most rentals. Having two refrigerators is another plus but the best added feature is the ice maker. We did not have to purchase ice the entire week.
The property office staff was very accommodating and and responded to all correspondences/requests in a very quick manor. They were a pleasure .
Tom, thank you for welcoming our family and giving us a memorable family vacation.

We loved Lake Norris and enjoyed our stay at Lakeside Lodge
Lakeside Lodge was very easy to find, along with the recommended grocery stop. There were enough parking spaces right at the house for our 5 vehicles. Our family had 10 adults, and 7 children, including 3 teenagers. The 15 year old loved having his own space in the loft bedroom. We couldn’t have done this smoothly without the 2 refrigerators, ice machine, plenty of provided towels, washer/dryer, large grill and fully stocked kitchen (crockpots for chicken taco night!). The “boat captain” loved the covered boat slip and there is also parking for 2 jet skis. Everyone spent plenty of time at the dock, swimming, fishing and boarding the boat for tubing! There are 3 flights of steps from the water to the house, but are completely doable. I have double hip replacements and used the steps 4-5 times daily! We loved the fire table/hot tub deck with plenty of seating, and the 8 kayaks! We roasted our marshmallows for s’mores at the fire pit. Bonuses were the table top video game, cornhole area, picnic table on the dock, and a crawl space with extra “toys”.

Great Place and Great Owner
The cabin was in tip top shape for our stay. We had a group of 20 for a long weekend and we would definitely rent this cabin again. We also rented 2 boats from Tom, the owner who was extremely accommodating and responsive through the entire booking and during our stay.

Amazing experience.
Absolutely amazing stay. The stairs may have won, as 4/7 of us fell down them but that’s nothing to do with anything lol. Beautiful view, plenty of room, and the kayaks were a great plus! We had so much fun. Definitely recommend stopping at the store on your way in so you don’t have to go through the crazy turns. Other than that everything was great.

Christmas at the Lake
Our family of 17 had an awesome, comfortable stay! Everything was so beautifully decorated for Christmas, and the owner even stopped by to give us a poinsettia! THANK YOU! Just wished I could have gotten it home, but our car was too small and packed :(
The house was very clean, very well stocked, had TONS of amenities, the owner was very responsive, and it had a winter cozy cabin feel! We would definitely stay there again! Our family truly enjoyed our Christmas vacation!

The property was described accurately. The kids had a great time fishing off the dock and playing the video games. I loved the tranquility of the mornings on the deck with coffee. Would highly recommend.

Okay.
This trip was not the best experience. The host wasn’t nicest to me when I was booking because my account was under the age requirement I’m 24, okay, but my fiancé is 26 was going and ONLY wanted to talk to him “man to man.” He really was talking down to me it felt like but he was being nicer to my fiancé so I let it happen bc we already paid for the house.
We get to the house and we had to do the check in check list. There were some things that weren’t on the list that were broken So my fiancé called to tell him and it’s like he knew they were broken but wanted us to call him it was odd. The WiFi didn’t work until our LAST night...were in the middle of the mountains so no one had a working device. He told me he sent a welcome email and I never got it. Couldn’t figure out the hot tub until the last night. My friend was walking down the outdoor stairs and it completely broke where he fell and hurt his hand and ankle. My other friend was walking in the dock, hit a soft spot in the wood and fell completely through! The house cleaning was suppose to take out the garage from previous guest and never came back to get it. One bedroom there were dirty used tissues under the bed... there were a lot of issues the entire trip. Oh and the host mentioned twice he was going to stop by while we were staying there(Friday-Monday when he and his family were the next people to stay at the house) like to check up on us in something. It felt very invasive and I’ve never experienced anything like it before. I felt like I was on edge the entire trip making it not so enjoyable.

Worth it!
My family and I stayed in this house and it was perfect. It was amazing! Clean, plenty of room, activities for the kids, and super convenient. We loved the area, and while we didn’t venture into town or the local sights, the house was a great getaway. The owner was quick to respond to any questions and concerns that we had. We plan on another convention when we can.
Thank you so much Tom for opening your home.

Thanksgiving at the Lake
The home was very clean and comfortable. We had 18 for Thanksgiving dinner and had plenty of place settings and silverware but no platters or serving pieces. Overall, the kitchen was well equipped and stocked. Our family enjoyed the home inside and outside, especially the kayaks. Tom was very communicative and responsive when we made reservations, planned our trip, and stayed at his house. The only downside was the steep gravel access.

Great House
The house worked out perfect. Large living area on the main floor with adjoining kitchen that allowed us to all be together. All the cooking essentials needed to make anything you’d want to cook. We used the grill for all meals and the top floor deck was great for entertaining. The dock at the water was a perfect size for all of us to fish and an easy climb to and from the house considering the steepness of the incline of the hill it’s on.
The owner Tom was exceptional. Anything we needed he was quick to respond.
We would definitely stay here again

Perfect
The property was as described by the owner and could not have been better suited and more comfortable for a stay for our entire family including kids, their spouses and grand kids. The house was very clean, organized, well equipped and in very good shape for a lake house. It is obvious Tom takes great pride in his property since he also uses it personally himself. Although it takes some time to get out to the lake through the Marina due to the no wake zone the benefit of this is the quietness of the cove for relaxing in the calm water off the dock without worries of boat traffic and the convenient access to gas is a nice benefit. The dock has a lot of space and a great spot to hang out when not boating and the access to all the toys is very nice to include multiple tubes, more than enough ski jackets for every size person, and multiple kayaks and hot tub. Our 4 night stay did not provide enough time to enjoy all the amenities available. The option and convenience of a boat and Sea Doo rental was also very convenient and seamless. Tom was a very engaged, responsive and accessible owner throughout the process from reserving to arrival through departure. We would recommend this property for a visit to Norris Lake.

This home was huge, w 6 bedrooms and 2 gathering places, a large dining table and 4 bathrooms. The kitchen was so well supplied and all the beds were comfortable. There were lots of towels and a washer and dryer. There are 2 decks and a functioning hot tub ( this usually is not the case at places we have stayed). We enjoyed the gas fire pit and there is a wood fire pit too. Being right on the water, we enjoyed swimming in the lake and boating ( they have a boat slip and rent boats and jet ski). The owner communicated w us immediately when we needed information and was kind and generous in every way. We will be back!

Piece of paradise!
Wonderful hosts and great property! Plenty to do, kept the 5 kids busy all the time. Marina is close and only 20 minutes from civilization but the property has everything you need. Loved it!!!

Great Vacation Home!
We have stayed at this home twice now and have had the best time!
We love the dock, kayaks, sitting by the fire pit and relaxing in the hot tub under the stars!
Location to the marina was perfect, although having two refrigerators plus a commercial ice maker meant that we didn’t need to get much of anything (except gas for the boat and jet ski we rented).
Our kids loved boating and fishing during the day and at night they enjoyed playing Nintendo and watching the selection of family movies that were offered.
We definitely recommend this vacation home and would stay here again and again!

Vacation life is better on the lake
We had a fantastic time! The house is beautiful, well maintained, well organized and has so many extras that made staying there so easy. There are lots of fun activities to do on the lake and at the house. We tried many of them- floating and boating/tubing on the lake, fishing, jumping rock, karaoke at the marina, corn hole, hot tub, games, movies, and we grilled some great food. The dock is in a low traffic area so we had no worries about playing in the water by the dock. We only had to go a short way to get to a great spot for wake boarding and tubing. There was plenty of room in the great room when we wanted to all get together, and plenty of seating inside and out. There are lots of decks and spaces for some quiet time with a beautiful view. Tom was super easy to work with and was always available to answer a question. This was a perfect fit for our large family and I highly recommend it for a great lake house vacation.
