The house was accommodating for everyone. The older kids had their privacy in the downstairs. The pool was refreshing after being on the beach. The neighborhood is quiet.

This is our 5th year at this property! The roominess, location, pool, boat dock is perfect for our annual family vacation! We have been going scalloping for many years and have now stayed at this home for the past 5 years! It’s perfect for our needs! I recommend this property to anyone looking for a place to stay with numerous people! We will be booking again for next year as well! The owners are also very quick in getting back to you with any questions you may have!

My family and I had a wonderful stay.
The cabin had more then enough room for our family to move around with out anyone feeling crowded. My favorite part of the home is the sliders that open up. So much sun shining thru all day. We didn't spend much time inside but when we did it was nice to have so much sun coming in . Only downside was the pool was never warm enough to swim in. 70 degrees and below. Over all we enjoyed our stay and highly recommend it

Over all, very nice. Would've liked a better stocked kitchen (utensils) but over all great. We all had a great time. Celebrated 2 birthdays, scalloped (did exceptional).

Our family/extended family (11 of us) spent Christmas here and overall, really enjoyed ourselves. The home is located in a great neighborhood. This was our first time to this part of FL and we found some great things to do! We used the house fishing poles and really enjoyed fishing from the dock. The deck condition is fair so we stayed off of that but the floating dock is great! As others have mentioned the owner David was easy to connect with. Our one and only complaint was the cleanliness of the home. We spent part of the first day cleaning the fridge and floors. For this reason, I rated the home 4 stars.

Close to many great restaurants, which was very nice!
Home is spacious & well stocked with staples for your stay. Owners are friendly and helpful with any issues.
Refrigerator freezer leaked all over the floor due to ice buildup. Above counter wall outlet for coffeemaker kept tripping the breaker. Dishwasher kept stopping during cycles & we had to keep re-starting it. Oven was dirty & crusty inside, with thick cob webs around oven door. Some skillets has burnt, crusted food on them. Refrigerator had thick cob webs around the door openings. (As if the cleaning service had not thoroughly cleaned for quite some time.) We did address a few issues with the owner & he was very courteous & stated the issues would be addressed. Home was well-stocked with beach towels & a few beach chairs, which was nice. 3 kayaks provided - one was missing the plug. Home was full of tiny ants - which we were told the small ants were abundant in Florida all the time (however, we never encountered ants at a previous VRBO rented home in Springhill the prior year). Everyone who stayed here for the week went home with bug bites all over their bodies. We wondered if this could be sand fleas.
But it is a gorgeous, spacious home with a nice view of the canal & homes across the canal.

Property was as advertised & the owners were quick to respond. Plenty of room for everyone & the pool table kept us busy on the rainy afternoons. Nice quiet deep canal, great neighbors & having the empty lot next door made parking boat trailers a breeze.

Amazing home, we will be back next year for sure
The dishes that were washed by last tenants were dirty and everything need to be rewashed. The trash can was over flowing but I contacted David and he ordered a second trash can. Out of all the place we have ever stayed in the area for over 10yrs, this has the most kitchen supplies, everything you need to cook at home. The coffee maker has a kerig feature but is very slow. The pool was a nice way to cool off after scalloping all day. The dock cleat did break, but David said he would send someone out to fix it. David was very very helpful with questions or concerns. We will be back next year!

Nice house in quiet neighborhood
We recently spent seven weeks in the Moore’s home in Hernando beach. We enjoy this area and loved being on the canal.
We liked the openness of the main level with the two dining areas. There are three bedrooms (Q, D, 2T) and two baths on this level. The screened porch off the living room is very spacious. The laundry room is on this level, so no going up and down stairs to do the wash. The kitchen is spacious and well stocked. While the description of the property appears to be an old one (it has not been recently renovated and the furniture is not new), overall, the pictures and information are fairly accurate.
Downstairs are two bedrooms (Q,Q) and a bath (which is in one of the bedrooms) and a great room with a dining table, billiards table, TV and refrigerator. This area is accessed through an indoor stairway and then through the garage.
We found the beds to be comfortable. The dining room and living room furniture have seen better days. The seats, for the most part, sag to the point they are uncomfortable and you have to work to get up. Of the 6 chairs on the pool deck, 4 were broken.
There are three kayaks, but they are pretty beat up. There are no handles or ropes so they are difficult to handle and at least one takes on water (inside the hull). The paddles are held together with duct tape.
The owners were very quick to respond to our questions. Some of our problems they were able to troubleshoot and were easily resolved. Those they could not, they said they would take care of when they come in May. There are quite a few small items that need repair/replacing.
The biggest disappointment about this house was the cleanliness. The kitchen and baths and laminate floor were pretty clean on our arrival, but there was a lot that was not. The carpets may have been vacuumed, but there are many stains and they are very dirty. There are smears and dust on the walls. The upholstered furniture has stains and smells of much use. Lots of crumbs, candy and nuts under the couch cushions. Dog hair in corners and nose prints on windows. There are many other indicators that minimal cleaning is done between tenants. We let the owners know and they did tell us they are having problems with their cleaners.
Overall, it was a nice place and we would definitely consider coming back once the repairs and cleaning issues were resolved.

Great location for boats! Not as close to a beach as we were expecting, but still a very nice and reasonable place to stay. Overall very pleased.

Great setup
This house was awesome. The locations was perfect right on the canal and around the block from family. We were allowed to bring our Boston Terrier which made the family complete. Plenty of beds great set up for 20 somethings downstairs. To cold to enjoy the Kayaks . Would have liked a lounge chair and table by the pool but we made due without. Thank you for a great stay!!

This is a great home with a great location. Davids communication was great. We had an issue with the pool but anytime I called or messaged him he got right on the issue. House was clean.

Rest and relaxation was in mind when I found this house.
Enjoyed the area, restraunts and multitude of things in the area for young adults and there kids to do. The only thing I found was the beds were not queen they were full. The pool was awesome too.

Great Waterfront Location With Pool
This was a great property and as previous reviewers have stated, this home is not the newest and has does have some things that can be updated (doors, pool deck, etc..) However, we loved the water access, pool and the provided kayaks were a nice bonus. Unfortunately the owners did not come across in their communication as the most accommodating. We stayed for a week and there was just one toilet paper roll in each bathroom. When I messaged asking where we can find more toilet paper, I received a short answer that stated "we do not supply toilet paper, Walmart is your best bet." Overall everything was good and as described, I personally just like when I spend 2K+ for a stay, to feel like the host wants to take care of any and all issues I may have. (I only messaged twice once about asking where the towels were and the second asking about more toilet paper but both times the answers were very short)

Great location
This is the second test we’ve stayed in this property and have already reserved again for next year! It’s roomy enough that no one is tripping over anyone! Having access to a private pool and boat dock is the perfect combination for our yearly family vacation!
There are absolutely a few things that need minor repairs and a second garbage can is definitely needed, as large groups seem to create a lot of garbage!!!
Overall, with the pricing and location and round of the home, it works perfectly for our needs! Was glad to be able to get it again for our next annual vacation!

Fun Relaxing Vacation
My family and I visit Hernando Beach annually and needed a larger house for our stay in 2021. Having the pool added so much to our trip, as the kids could enjoy playing in the water while we were at the house. Everything was very clean and well maintained. The only thing we wished the property had is a ladder on the dock to the canal. My kids enjoy jumping into the deep water, but couldn't this year since there was no easy way back out of the canal.
We plan to visit again next summer!

Great value and location!
It's was our first time in the Hernando Beach area and we loved it! The home had all we needed for 8 adults - bedrooms, the kitchens full of supplies, linens and a/c was nice and cold! Could use some outdoor seating and only one kayak was actually usable. Owner was VERY responsive with questions. Highly recommend renting a pontoon from Blue Pelican Marina (you can dock it at the house and price is reasonable) and do visit the local reefs where we saw dolphins, tons of various birds and went fishing. Definitely eat at Zig Zag Scallops around the corner. Best meal of our trip!

First trip in over a year.
The pictures of this home do not represent the actual premises very well at all.
From the broken ice maker, tack stripping exposed that we actually stepped on, broken kitchen cabinet, as well as all being sticky, having no fitted sheets on our beds, just flat ones, an unusable broken skimmer, nails popped up on the deck, to not having had anyone show up to do the weekly pool maintenance where two of the four chairs surrounding the pool were broken, not having the the master bathroom door shut because it was a slider doors and stuck, AND having to lay a board across the glass sliding door in my bedroom because so many vertical blinds were broken and/or missing so I had no privacy I was ready to give up and leave.
But, my kids wanted to stay, so after trying to come to an agreement, the owner of the property reimbursed me for what we agreed upon although I had to call VRBO twice to make sure it was done.
It’s a shame too, because with some TLC it could be a wonderful place to stay.

Great Hernando location
My family and I stayed April 3-10 with our kids ages 9-20. This was our first time in this location of Florida, which we enjoyed very much! The house is as described, large, open living and kitchen areas lots of room for 12. 5 Bedrooms good size, beds sleep 8 pairs comfortably +2 twin beds +2 couches (not many extra blankets). The house has 2 stories which is designed nicely for 2 families, providing some separation. We enjoyed the pool table, pool (not heated), the kayaks, rented a Pontoon and was able to dock right there for 3 days, took Pontoon rides out to Gulf of Mexico stopping at sand bar where kids played football in water, found crabs and even saw a dolphin 20 feet away! There is a marina at end of canal and a tikibar with good food! We took day trips to pine island Beach (20m) Clearwater Beach (1h 40m) and honeymoon island beach (1h 20m). Guys went out for a fishing excursion caught lots and made a delicious dinner. There are bars nearby that are enjoyable, people are friendly. There's a dollar general around the corner and a Walmart a few miles further. We enjoyed a dinner at the Upperdeck restaurant, great food and service! For us the house kitchen allowed for most of our meals, has an outdoor grill. There is a large screened in deck for outdoor dining. This house was clean and perfect for a large group. The area is beautiful! We would stay again!!

Never have been to this part of Florida before but will definitely come again! We loved the location, pool, kayaking, fishing, and seafood! The house met all our needs. House could use just a little love. Transition pieces for carpet are missing and we’re partially covered with scatter rugs but little feet kept stepping on carpet tacks and we had many tears. The spiral staircase is fine for older ones but so scary for our small ones. Two of the bedrooms are in a separate living area which I guess I didn’t know. Worked for us but some families probably would be hesitant since it’s only accessible through the garage or down the spiral staircase. Garage lights are burned out so when we did go downstairs we used our flashlights on our phones. Overall this was a great vacation and with a few changes this would be exceptional!

The purpose of our stay was to spend time with family and it worked out well for us. Cleaning must have occurred a while before we arrived as there were numerous dead bugs in the floor.

The photos don't do it justice.
We had a wonderful family reunion even though there was rain every day. The pictures on the listing do not do it justice. Comfortable beds, plenty of seating room (we had two dinners with 15 and 16 people and everyone sat at tables (5 in the breakfast area, 6 in the dining room and 4 on the deck.) There was an additional kitchenette set on the pool level so the kids could play air hockey or pool and eat down there. The kids enjoyed the pool and the kayaks. Property was well maintained with no major problems so our only contact with Kathy was for check in.
We were about an hour from Busch Gardens, the Tampa area museums and the ballpark. We enjoyed a game between TB Rays and Detroit Tigers, our original hometown. (Detroit won)
All in all I would recommend this home if you are planning on visiting the Tampa area.

Great house and amenities!
We had a great time at this property. The patio, pool and view is great. The kayaks were a plus and were able to paddle to tiki hut bar down the canal. The kitchen was extremely well supplied as bedding, towels, etc. Plenty of AC, hot water, nice super loaded washer/dryer, good pressure on hose to clean off snorkel gear and boat. Plenty of parking even for trailer. Communication with owner was always timely. I would recommend this house far above a couple others we have stayed in that area.

Beautiful House - Quiet Location But Close to Everything!
We had 2 families vacationing together (5 adults and 5 kids) and this house was perfect!!! We all had plenty of space! When we arrived at the house it was immaculate and we couldn't believe how much nicer the house was in person - the photos on-line don't do it justice. The kids really enjoyed the pool, pool table on the lower level, fishing off the dock and having their own spaces to hang out and enjoy. We really liked having several restaurants, a tiki bar and stores really close. Driving to Tampa, Clearwater and Tarpon Springs was very easy - we went to Busch Gardens, Clearwater Aquarium, Clearwater Beach, Tarpon Springs and the guys enjoyed a full day of fishing on the Gulf with Carlos Bastos- Bottoms Up Fishing Excursions. Bottoms Up Fishing Excursions is highly recommended - it was the 2nd time fishing with them. You always catch lots of fish with them! We enjoyed going to Weeki Wachee, Pine Island, renting a pontoon boat that held all 10 of us from the motel right down the road. The owners of the motel also owns a restaurant right down the street from the house called the Silver Dolphin(which just opened 2 weeks before we visited) with beautiful gardens in the back. We had breakfast there one morning which was very nice in the gardens. We enjoyed eating at The Cove, had lunch at the Tiki Bar at the marina where we pulled the rental pontoon right up to the dock. Lots of great restaurants and some even in walking distance! We liked staying at Hernando Beach so much that my husband is seriously thinking about retiring here in less than 10 years. He would love to have a boat right in his backyard to go fishing every day! It is quite and tucked away but close to everything. Thanks, David and Kathy for sharing your beautiful home with all of us!!! We all had a great time!!! We wish we didn't have to leave!!
