About this apartment rental
This great vacation home is a 4 bedroom, 3 bathroom home with a great in town location, within walking distances to Vons market and many restaurants/businesses and right on the shuttle route.
This big unit feels like a house on the inside and is a duplex on the outside, in a well maintained complex with nicely separated duplex units. The common area is great for entertaining, with indoor heated swimming pool/Jacuzzi/sauna, and tennis courts. There is an onsite manager. It has two parking spaces in back of the unit. There is also an overflow lot on Chateau Rd for additional vehicles. It's important that guests don't bring too many vehicles because the town doesn't allow for street parking in winter.
Shuttle stop #5 (red line) is located right outside of the complex, which provides a free service every 15 minutes during winter to the Main Lodge and many stores and The Village on the way. Our guests can easily walk to several restaurants & shops on Old Mammoth Road, including The Stove, Skaadi, Shogun. Von's Market shopping center is also within walking distance with a multi-cinema movie theater & many other shops & eateries.
The interior floor plan is very nicely set up with the living room/dining room, kitchen, master bedroom and one of the bathrooms, upstairs. The master bedroom has a king size bed and custom mountain log furniture. Living room has a comfortable sofa which does not convert into a bed, but could easily sleep one in a pinch. There are recliners & lunge chairs to make your stay super comfy. All upstairs rooms have high vaulted ceilings, wood beams and baseboard heating with separate controls. The living room has a free standing wood stove fireplace, with firewood supplied by us on the balcony. There is also a charcoal barbecue grill on the deck.
We have taken the pain and the extra expenses to install a high speed broadband internet with WIFI router thru-out the unit, NOT the sloooooow local cable internet access commonly found in many of the rentals.
There are three more good size bedrooms and two bathrooms downstairs. Washer and dryer is provided for guest use. All four of the bedrooms have LCD TVs/DVDs and there is also a large LED TV with Blu-Ray DVD player in the living room. The downstairs bedrooms and all three bathrooms have heaters with separate controls for each room. For downstairs, the front bedroom has a king bed and also custom log furniture.
The middle bedroom is what we called 'Antique' room, with a queen size bed & and an antique non-functioning iron heater at the corner. The back bedroom has a bunk bed plus a convertible bed with a roll out bed below the oak framed bed should our guests need another bed. Lots of beds for flexibility, but at about 1800 square feet we like to limit the size of groups to a max of ten so everyone can have a bed to sleep on. The maid service supplies linens, towels and bathroom supplies, but larger groups should bring extra towels for the indoor pool/jacuzzi/sauna--very close to our unit (behind the unit and across the short driveway)--don't forget swimsuits.
We will provide entry instructions once the rental is fully paid for. Check-in is 4 PM. If you want an earlier check-in, email us and we will try our best to accomodate you if there is no back-to-back guest checking out on your arrival date. Guests need to check out at 10 AM or get an OK from us in advance as we may be able to schedule the maid service for a later hour. When leaving, guests are expected to load and start the dishwasher plus take out any excessive trash.
This stylishly furnished unit with many unique mountain furnishings is great for your High Sierras getaway.
The kitchen is fully stocked with everything except food. Cook to your delight if you so desire.
You will love your stay at our Sierra get-away!! Thanks for checking into our place. :-))

Great use of space for 8 adults. The mud room right inside the entrance had plenty of room to store all of our wet ski gear. 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms were on the entry level which made it nice to disappear at the end of a long day if others were still playing games upstairs. The dining room table was large enough for all of us to eat together or play games. Kitchen was stocked for cooking meals and plenty of seating in the tv/living space for all of us. Complex had snow plows out early to clear driveway after night snow dump. This place was perfect for our family and would recommend. Everything worked, was clean and went according to plan.

Place is PERFECT! Plenty of room for our group. Love that most bedrooms are downstairs so the group can hang out upstairs and not bother those sleeping. Huge TV (which we watched the Superbowl on). Located steps from bus stop to the mountain. The host was attentive and available for our needs. Five Stars.

Property was somewhat dated but comfortable. Close to local transportation. Property managers were responsive and had area plowed of snow( up to 15 feet). Hot tub and sauna were nice . Owner was very responsive and workable. Would stay here again

This condo is exactly as advertised! Perfect location right on the Red Line bus route that stops every 20 minutes. We never used our vehicle. The condo is very comfortable, warm and cozy. We loved the wood stove and the huge community hot tub. We will definitely stay here again when returning to Mammoth.

The condo is well situated. Plenty of space with 4 bedrooms. Furniture is very large/sturdy and guests are asked not to move anything. Kind of strange as its not really movable items. Master bed frame is overly large and mattress is very low to the ground. We had planned to let my 70+ year old in-laws have that room but they wouldn't have been able to use the bed. The entry area for removing wet items or store boards/skis was carpeted and didn't have hooks for jackets. Email from host stated cleaning fee was a deposit and would be refunded if we did everything on the check-out list. We did everything and never received a refund or heard from the host again. Unit could use an update in kitchen dishes, bedding (pillows are stained), old green carpet throughout, and fix upstairs shower handle for hot/cold water. The complex is nice, well located and 2 parking spots for the unit (difficult to know exact location of spots, especially in the snow). Complex kept all the walk ways well shoveled, even during a weekend of non-stop snowing (MLK weekend 2023). Condo is located on a bus route and near Vons and many other stores. Would rate overall stay a 3.5 out of 5.

We were happy with this old school condo rental. The decor was charmingly rustic with lots of bulky natural wood furniture that I liked. The main living space was nice with a large living room/dining area and a large covered balcony with chalet type high windows that gave in lots of natural light. The condo had a good layout of most bedrooms not sharing a wall with the next condo. This avoided conflicts with the neighbors who were having a very loud party next door. We had 3 adults and 4 teenage boys (adult sized) with us and we had tons of room for all of us. The location was perfect because we were right next to Red Line shuttle stop #5, which made it so easy to get around town and to Mammoth Village.

Smooth booking, excellent communication from owner, large condo, excellent location and proximity to free town shuttle.

Unit has 3 rooms and 2 restroom downstairs and 1 room and 1 restroom upstairs. Kitchen is also located upstairs . There is a large dining room table upstairs and plenty of seating to watch TV. Fridge was pretty big and in good working condition. House stood very comfortable despite how cold it was outside . Only issue we had was that the upstairs bedroom mattress and box spring were set up o the floor , there was no bed FRAME? in that same bedroom there was no remote for that TV? Other than that I would say that the property is very comfortable, quiet and very close to the VONS shopping center . .Doris the manager was easy to reach via text on a few questions we had .. We would stay here again.

Spacious and Clean and a nice location
The property was well maintained and clean. We liked it had 3 full bathrooms with the main bedroom upstairs with the common areas (Kitchen, living room, Dining room) and 3 bedrooms and 2 baths downstairs where you enter the condo. It is furnished in a very eclectic fashion which gives it some of its charm. The huge dining table was great for eating and games. Doris was great to work with and very responsive to any questions we had. The pool and jacuzzi/hot tub are just across the parking lot. We used the hot tub but not the pool so we can't comment on it. A very enjoyable stay.
Great location just a few minutes drive from the Village Gondola that is free and goes straight to the Canyon lifts. FYI, pay parking at the Village Gondola is expensive, $35 until 5pm, $40 for all day (2am). The shuttle stop was 1-1/2 minute walk from the condo door. Vons is just a couple of minute drive.

Most responsive host ever! Large place!
Doris is SO responsive. When we arrived, we had a couple of questions about parking and the code for the spa (Which we had overlooked). She wrote back IMMEDIATELY- and then also reached out later to make sure everything was okay. Instructions for everything inside and external to the unit were provided in a timely fashion ahead of time, which was great, and everything was exactly as promised. 4 bedrooms, all with closing doors, and 3 bathrooms- were PERFECT for our three couples that stayed in the unit together- and we could've even had a fourth couple join us and stay in bedroom #4- which we loved. It's hard to find places in Mammoth that have 4 truly separate bedrooms (not just a loft or extra sleeping "area") and so this unit is unique in that sense. Everything worked- showers, TV, kitchen appliances- and boy, this unit is sure close to the lifts. It's close to a shuttle/bus stop, but we simply drove to Mill Lodge / the Main Parking area and even on a weekend, found parking every morning with no problems. The drive to those lifts was only 10 minutes, so we got plenty of skiing in. I'd stay here again for sure.

Comfortable and homey
Our group of 6 really enjoyed our stay here. We cooked in, and the kitchen had everything we needed (they could use a few more placemats, though). Seating and beds are comfortable, the showers/hot water are good, parking is easy, and the shuttle to the Village and its gondola stops right in front. We'll come back!

Nice and cozy
This place is cozy a little cramped due to the big /wide furniture it takes away space. The chairs are too big and heavy causing traffic jam, we didn’t want to turn the dining table the way it’s shown on the picture, it was diagonal. Especially because instructions clearly say not to move furniture around. It had 1 bedroom and bath upstairs and three on the first floor. All rooms were a good size, over all it was very warm, and if I’m ever in the area again, I wouldn’t mind renting it again. The owner was very prompt on her response time on anything I needed.
Thank you Doris for letting us stay in your lovely rental.

Great place to stay.
I stayed here with my family for a fun weekend in the snow. There was plenty of space and the beds were comfortable. The heaters worked great and the wood burning fireplace kept the upstairs extra warm. I’d definitely consider staying here again.

Wonderful experience
Had a great time staying in this cabin. The owners were great at communication, easy to contact! The location was great, super close to the red line, we were able to walk to in less than 3 minutes. Parking was easy, 2 right in front and overflow close by. The place itself was very cozy, plenty of room, warm and toasty! Would definitely stay here again. Thank you Doris! :)

Cabin feel
Great property! Clean and easy access to all location. Property is much older, but it had the essentials and had a cabin feel to it. Owners are very easy to get a hold of. Stayed with my family and they loved it. Perfect size for us and they had a great time. Thanks for letting us stay.

Great stay!
We had a great time staying at this property during our annual ski trip to Mammoth. It was convenient located near the free shuttle stop and very close to the Vons shopping plaza. The condo was spacious for our group with plenty kitchen supplies. Doris was super responsive whenever there was a question. During the stay, there was a big snowstorm which closed hwy 395 on the last day. Luckily was able to work out with Doris to stay an extra night. The check-in/out was super easy.

Fantastic
We came up for a weekend trip, hoping to go to Yosemite but the roads were unfortunately closed due to a winter storm warning. Doris was extremely accommodating of the situation and staying an extra night for the snow at the condo made up for Yosemite. The location is fantastic, close to town/food/gas/etc. Place was very clean, lots of space and basic amenities. Stocked kitchen supplies/pans/cutlery was very good. Lots of space in the place. Snow was cleared by the property manager promptly, had no issues getting out of the snow. Indoor pool/jacuzzi was very nice.

Great time!
The location is perfect and the size was wonderful for our large family. We would recommend Doris' place and would definitely rent it again if we return to Mammoth. Only suggestion would be to give the place a good dusting which was notifiable on many surfaces - but we know it is hard to fit it all in with renters back to back!

Older place with cabin feel/charm.
My family and I really enjoyed our stay in this townhome. There was plenty of room for two families; a total of 7 (4 adults & 3 kids). It was nice having two levels so that we could spread out. We spent most of our time in the kitchen and family room areas. The kitchen has plenty of cabinets for storage as well as everything you need to prepare your meals. Also has a nice, large refrigerator. We made most of our meals so we were in the kitchen a lot. There is a bbq on the balcony, but it's charcoal only. We did buy some lighter fluid to get the charcoal started. We left the lighter fluid there for the next renter to use.
The overall decor in the home is older, but quaint, and has a "cabin in the woods" feel to it. There is a wood burning hot stove in the family room if it gets cold at night and plenty of wood on the balcony, but we never used it since the weather was very warm in Mammoth during our stay. The rooms are plain and simple; as are the bathrooms. The bathrooms are older, but everything works just fine. It was nice having 3 full-size bathrooms. Each room has it's own tv, but not all of them get channels. The room with the bunkbeds has a smart tv and it only had Netflix on it. The cable channels that are available are very basic. Which was fine since we didn't watch much tv anyways. We did watch movies and there is a DVD Blu-ray player connected to tv in upstairs family room. It would be helpful to have a channel guide that lists all the channels available.
Location was great! Located off of Old Mammoth Road and close/walking distance to restaurants, stores and a microbrewery (Distant Brewing). The Village and Mammoth Mountain are a short drive and the trolley has a stop right outside the association that will take you all around town as well as up to the lakes. The only large grocery store (Vons) in town is also very close.
There is an indoor pool, jacuzzi and sauna. Pool and jacuzzi were clean and the kids enjoyed swimming after a long day of hiking. However, the pool isn't heated so the water was a little chilly, but the kids didn't mind! Overall, we really enjoyed our stay and this place met all of our needs. The owner, Doris, was great to work with and she is very communicative/responsive. She responded right away to our questions. Thanks, Doris!

Convenience, spaciousness, and very responsive owner.
The condo is located in very close proximity to Von's and Mammoth Village. Most of the trailheads for hiking were also within 15 minutes drive - Arrowhead Lake (Duck Pass Trail), McLeod Lake, Crystal Lake, Devil's Post Pile. All in all, a very convenient location.
The unit itself is very well appointed. It was very clean. The kitchen had everything you would want to cook, to eat in, and to clean. WiFi works great in the unit. Oddly enough, for such a touristy place as Mammoth Lakes, service from Verizon and T Mobile was practically nonexistent near the condo complex, but was sometimes good way up on the hiking trails.
One thing I felt very uncomfortable about was the conduct of someone from the condo complex office. This had nothing to do with our group or our unit. This gentleman from the office was berating another guest for driving on grass. But the mean way this person was taking this other guest to task made me feel very unwelcome. I informed the condo owner about that just so they know about it too. This will make me think twice before renting at this complex again, albeit the many positives about everything else here.
What really stood out was the condo owner's (Doris) responsiveness. She is lightning fast in answering emails and texts. And very courteous as well.

Great Cabin
Great spot, highly recommended. Wish the jacuzzi and sauna were open but understandable since most community areas are closed due to the pandemic. Doris was helpful and quick to respond when we had trouble finding the overflow lot. Also she is shipping us a laptop charger we left at the cabin. Thanks!

Vacation at Mammoth Lakes
The property was very nice, perfect for what we were looking for. Doris was very quick at responding back with any questions we had. Kitchen was very well stocked with glasses, plates, pots and pans. Propery is in a nice location walking distance to stores and some restaurants.
If it was my property, I'll make a few minor updates. The bathrooms downstairs don't lock for privacy. We all had our bathroom but you never know when someone may walk up on you while on the toilet. The patio / balcony - nails are sticking up. If not wearing shoes may hurt your self.
Overall, we had a great time and we'll plan to return when going back to Mammoth Lakes.
