Block Island historic property in the 'Old Town', initially build around 1850, this property housed the General Store. Completely renovated in 1985 by owner, amenities include hard pine floors and new kitchen and bath. The 2 bedrooms are a queen size bed, and a futon sofa bed in living area to sleep 2 more people, plus a private entrance and bath. Amenities include, full kitchen, gas grill, air conditioning, wireless internet and outdoor shower. Private deck with table and four chars.

Was a great place place to stay for a weekend wedding! Arnie was super helpful and personable and the place was comfortable for 5 of us (2 couples and a single)! Would definitely stay again when back on the island!

The house was as described and was comfortable for our family. The check-in process was easy, but without a lock box we did need to take time out of our day to meet the owner for the key. The owner was helpful and responsive.

We were offered an early check in time but did not need it. You need to set up a time to arrive to meet Arnie. No remote check in. Air conditioning is not in the bedrooms. Keeping the windows open at night brought street noise in which made it hard to sleep. The bedrooms do have fans. You can walk to the airport for breakfast/ lunch but you need a car/ taxi to get everywhere else. I think the listing says that a car is not needed. You can hear the people upstairs moving around and apparently they could hear us talking since they came downstairs to ask us to quiet down. Mind you, we are women in our 40s who were just talking. We were there for 2 nights and it served our purpose of just sleeping there. It was nice that the rental does not require a week’s commitment. No late check out but Arnie said he could store our bags in his barn if we needed that. The kitchen is well equipped if you do want to cook. Outdoor shower was great! Plenty of towels to use at the house.

This is our fifth year staying at this property. We love it! It's clean and well appointed and in a fantastic location. The host is very responsive and takes really good care of the property. We highly recommend it.

Our host was super friendly, they made sure we had everything we needed. They even let us borrow a book on the history of Block Island. We enjoyed reading it in the morning. Super clean and comfortable place to stay. Will definitely stay here again.

Our family had a wonderful stay at Arnie's center road apartment. Apartment was as described in listing. We found space to be bigger than it appears in pictures which was a plus. Great location. It is on the corner of a road so you do hear traffic but it was not bothersome to us. Apartment was clean and well stocked with supplies, beds were comfortable. Outdoor shower was a plus for the kids. Arnie was very pleasant and available if we needed anything. We would definitely stay here again!

The property was exactly as listed. Arnie met us when we arrived and walked us through the apartment. We've been to Block Island before so we knew our way around but Arnie was very nice and I would not have hesitated to reach out to him for suggestions of things to do or places to eat. Overall it was a very enjoyable stay.

Stayed here with my wife and children for our annual Block Island quick get away. Apartment was clean, has 2 private bedrooms and a Futton in the living room. Plenty of space for us. Conveniently located about 5 minutes from the ferry. Arnie was a great host and gave me advice on where to take my sons fishing. He has a wealth of Block Island knowledge! The outside shower was great. Would definitely stay again.

Arnie's place made for a lovely weekend stay at Block Island. Nestled away from the "main" area, the house was quiet, comfortable, and clean. Most places of interest (beaches, restaurants, ferry, etc) are approximately a 20 min walk or 5 min cab ride away. Would stay here again if I find myself back at Block Island!

Arnie’s Place was great. Every local/ cab driver knew where to pick us up if you just say “Arnie’s Place.” Taxi’s are so easy to get from anywhere and $12 always. Quick trip into town. We didn’t need to spend much time in the VRBO but it had all basic amenities. We didn’t cook so I can’t speak on kitchen stuff. But bring your own shampoo and conditioner. (There was soap bars) The only complaint… it was hot when we got there (One window unit and it wasn’t on)! Sleeping on the pull out couch was the best spot because it had the most circulation! So it took a long time for 1 window unit to semi cool off. And the back bedroom didn’t get any air really. Other than that Arnie was great to talk to and our stay was lovely.

Amazing and Fantastic!

This was my second time staying at Arnies place, and I'm already planning to return. It is clean and quiet, and the location is just far enough to be peaceful and out of the hustle and bustle but close enough for a beautiful walk home through the evening fog at the end of the night. We loved the kitchen which had everything we needed, the beds were comfy and the bathroom was clean. Arnie was easy to communicate with and very accommodating. I love and highly recommend this spot!

Block Island is lovely in September--the crowds are gone but the beaches are still warm and sunny. Arnie's house is a perfect location for enjoying everything. It's spacious and comfortable but only a 5-10 minute drive from town and beaches. Arnie is right on the property and very helpful but we didn't have any issues. The kitchen is particularly well-equipped and the outdoor deck is lovely in the afternoon.

Perfect little place for a family of four, with two decent bedrooms a breakfast nook, a kitchen table, and a deck with a grill. Pretty centrally located on the island. Not much within walking distance, but short drives to everywhere.

Owner was super-helpful. I thought this was a first-floor unit, but it was actually 2nd floor and the view was lovely! Please note, the AC is only in the living room/kitchen. The bedrooms do not have AC. The beds were comfy, the kitchen met our needs, and we enjoyed eating donuts (Paynes!) on the deck, listening to birds.

The property was as promised and the host was friendly and thoughtful, especially during this time when we all have to taken precautions due to coronavirus. Arnie was easy to communicate with. Overall, the rental process was a piece of cake.

We rented the apartment for a long weekend and found it to be a good location and well equipped. We cooked in most evenings and appreciated having a gas BBQ outside the kitchen door. The location is a little out of town so it is quiet but close enough that it is convenient to stores and restaurants. Good value for the money!
