About this house rental
Private, scenic area within walking distance to the beach (about a five minute walk) and a quick drive or shuttle (running every half-hour) into town. Beautiful sunsets and natural beach where you can see seals swimming in the ocean. Beaches with lifeguard available. Pond directly in back of the unit. Use of a kayak. Fully equipped kitchen and all linens/towels are provided.
Townhouse with second floor open living/kitchen area, with queen size futon, and deck out back. First floor has two bedrooms, one with bunk beds and the second larger bedroom with a queen bed and a twin bed leading to a deck, full bathroom with tub. Third floor has a larger master bedroom with a queen size bed and full bathroom with shower. Outdoor shower on the first floor deck. The townhouse has been improved with new windows, wood floors throughout and beautiful new kitchen.
Please note that this is near the beach and a casual beach cottage.
Please do not expect high end luxury you might find somewhere far more expensive or at a high end hotel or bed and breakfast. Most people understand this and my rates are reflective of this. The photos speak for themselves. We think it's a very nice place to spend your vacation (and we spend vacations here as well) and have done many improvements over the years. There is all wood flooring, updated bathrooms and a beautiful new kitchen. You are about 4.5 miles from town are are very close to the beach.

My favorite part of staying here was the short walk to the beach with the most gorgeous sunset. This part of ACK is far from the hustle and bustle (which is a plus for us.) We were already familiar with the townhouses here before arriving, so no surprises there. It's a bit rough around the edges compared to the quaint perfection seen around most of Nantucket. There is less privacy too, but our neighbors were friendly and for the price it can't be beat. The layout worked for us but could be tricky for some. The first sm. room (with bunkbed) is next to the front door. There is another bedroom down the hall with a queen and twin bed (this room is a pass-through to get out to the backdoor to the outdoor shower.) There is also a full bath on this floor. The 2nd floor is open living with a fully stocked kitchen. The top floor has a queen bedroom (*comfortable bed) and bath. We enjoyed our stay and would book this rental again.

We had a great stay at Margaret's place! With 3 small children, the space was ideal for our trip to Nantucket. The townhome is just a 15 minute walk to Millie's and the Madaket beaches. We rented a car to get to other places around the Island, but it was nice to be able to come and go as we please. The townhome is part of a 4-unit complex, so there are other people to be considerate of, but overall not an issue. We'll look to book again!

Kitchen was great and well stocked to cook. The living room is large and comfortable. The third bedroom is not really a bedroom. There was no place for a suitcase or stand in the room.
Outside shower is only accessible though a bedroom. There was plenty of parking. It was not a quiet retreat.

There was plenty of room for our guests to all sleep comfortably, the central air was awesome for the hot nights in August. We were a close walk to Madaket beach (where we took advantage of the amazing sunset views) and to Millie's. We also took the Wave (Nantucket's bus) to the center of town, and was very convenient and easy to use. Would highly recommend this stay, especially for the price point.

Had a great time in nantucket with our newborn. First time traveling with the baby and the house met all of our needs. Have traveled to Nantucket annually for past 10 years, but first time staying in Madaket and we thoroughly enjoyed it. Access to the smaller beach down the road was great for our family.

Great location and lovely beach days! Neighbors could be better about taking over the whole lawn with toys but that’s not the property owners fault. Overall, a lovely stay and we will be back!

We stayed here for a second time after a super positive first time experience and it was a great time! The cottage is beautiful, clean and in a peaceful spot. Would recommend and stay again next year!

Our family (2 parents, 1 grandparent, and 1 toddler) stayed for a week and had a great time. We are familiar with the island and knew we wanted to stay in Madaket. If you are less familiar with the island or don’t want to rely on the bus, you may want to look into renting a car.

The host keeps a lovely, relaxing condo which was a great fit for our group of five. Easy check in/check out. Clean and well appointed. Nicely located along the Madaket Wave route, near Millie’s and Long Pond Beach. Good communication from the host who helped guide us on several aspects for our trip.

Arriving and checking in at Margaret's property was very simple and easy - keep in mind your gps will overshoot a little bit, the entry to the driveway comes up a bit quicker. Keypad entry, parking right almost at the door. Neighbors are lovely, welcoming people.
The space - everything is clean and simple, reminded me of the beach stays I used to have as a kid. Kitchen is beautiful, a really fun space to eat/dine in. Supplies like pots/utensils are there. Bathrooms are clean and cute. There is also a nice patio overlooking a cute backyard space. The beach is about a ten minute walk down the road and you can drive down there is a bit of parking down there. If you want to go out to eat in the area, Millie's is just down the road. Downtown is of course not too far a drive either.
I would stay here again, 10/10.

Great, no frills place that is pet friendly near the beach. Perfect for family with kids of all ages. Possible to do without a car, but car recommended. Wonderful vacation! Madaket is a terrific part of Nantucket.

We didn’t stay at the property much, we had so much to do and see in a short few days, just slept there mostly. It’s a townhouse and it needs some updating, but the owner was super helpful with anything questions I asked her before we arrived. We had no issues at the property at all, everything was in working order. Nantucket is a wonderful place and I’m so happy I was able to visit!

This is the second year we’ve stayed there. Everything we needed was at the house. Biking/walking distance from the beach. Enjoyed the Daffodil Festival. Owner is as very responsive and noted that she welcomed suggestions.

My family has been coming to the Island for 50 yrs. This is my1st rental. The condo was nice and near to other family. It definitely needs some updating in the utensil department. New flatware and sharp knives would be ideal. Also instructions on how to use the tv would be helpful.
All in all, i would stay again

We had the best week on Nantucket staying in this Madaket townhouse. Location is everything and this home is located a short walk from the Madaket beach and from Millie’s—two of our all time favorite Nantucket spots. While this unit is a townhouse, the building is set back so the deck overlooks conservation land and feels very peaceful. We were mostly unaware of the other units and their residents, which was great. We didn’t even bother with the indoor showers because of how much we loved the outdoor one—it was amazing! We brought our car and rented bikes for the week but you really wouldn’t need either as the public bus stop is close by. Some of the less than stellar reviews below are clearly from people who don’t know the Nantucket rental market. This place is a great value and well priced for the location and the accommodations. Beach chairs, towels, linens, etc were all included and we enjoyed cooking in the updated kitchen. The owner was very communicative and available throughout our stay. Overall, it was a fabulous week in one of our all time places and we are already looking forward to next year!

This unit is between two attached units as part of a townhouse. The location is very close to the beach and WAVE bus which takes you to the Whaling Museum in town. We drove to the beach because we have so much stuff to carry but it's walkable. You can hear the ocean from the house. The unit is off a dirt road which had HUGE potholes when we first arrived but then were filled in and made it much nicer. The unit itself is functional but other than the kitchen, it really needs to be updated. Some relatively small fixes/updates could go a long way. The house had beach chairs but no beach towels and very limited bath towels. I bought 3 beach towels and left them at the unit. There is a really nice outdoor shower. My rating is based on the fact that I think it's priced fairly for what you get on this island and any place booked through a realtor will require a full week rental.

It was ok for us. Recommend bringing a car can be quite expensive taking an UBER.

The location was great and close to the beach and bike trails. Peggy was very responsive to emails. Good internet. Plenty of room and we appreciated that we could bring our dogs.
