Location-Location-Location!! We choose this place over others was because of its close proximity to EVERYTHING!!. Both in driving and walking. You can walk less than 1/4 mile in one direction and you'll catch the shuttle buses to ski resorts. Saves the hassle and expense of parking. You can walk/ride your bike less than 1/4 in the opposite direction and you'll be in the National forest enjoying the hiking/biking trails.
As spring/summer approaches, come enjoy the blooming of the plant life as you hike/bike your way on the mountain trails. We're also very close to an abundance of off road trails for the avid off road enthusiast both 2 and 4 wheelers. Beautiful mountain and desert views you can only experience from the BLM approved roads. There are places in town to rent off road vehicles or places that offer guided tours. Spring/Summer/Fall is the perfect time to experience these breath-taking views of the Mohave Desert below while you’re exploring the old gold mines!! Perfect Photo OPS!!
During the summer and fall months you can rent at the local marina's all sorts or watercraft. Or you just take the Pirate ship or Liberty Paddle boat excursions around the lake and take in the views only the mountain can offer!! For additional spring/summer/fall activities our cabin is blocks from the zoo/golf/grocery/drug/retail stores.
For the winter/summer seasons Snow Summit and Bear mountain are just blocks from the cabin. Snow activities in the winter and mountain biking in the summer!! Both parks just recently did some major renovations since Aspen properties acquired them. See their websites for details.
No need to drive. Shuttle bus stop is less than 1/4 mile from cabin. Catch the free trolley bus to Bear Lake Village and restaurants. Avoid the worries of over indulging and driving.
Each set of guests are treated special so they feel right at home from the moment they show up. We would expect our guests to treat this place as if it was their own. We just ask to leave cabin as you receive it.
Indoor Smoking is strictly prohibited. A separate $250.00 cleaning fee will be accessed if violated. We have outdoor smoking areas set up as needed.
Please check the calendar before inquiring on dates.

We liked the floor plan, liked the radio in the living room, everything worked as it should and we had no issues.

Our stay at Moonridge Retreat was perfect for a quick getaway for my girlfriends birthday. The cabin is clean, comfortable and has nice amenities. The hosts are very thoughtful, thorough and communicative. We couldn't have asked for a bettet experience, thank you!! I definitely recommend staying here.

Lovely cottage, clean, well appointed and very comfortable. We boated, fished, hiked and enjoyed the evenings at The Village, or just relaxing, grilling at the house. So, quite and peaceful, can’t wait to come back.

Cabin owners, Ed and Pam, are very friendly and welcoming! We got a tour of the cabin upon arrival and info/ recommendations to explore the town! The cabin was very comfortable and the perfect size for our family of 5. There were towels and toiletries available and a washer and dryer. It was also just walking distance to the cute shops, restaurants and zoo on Moonridge, but still in a quiet neighborhood. Would recommend staying here!! Hope to be back in the future!

Cabin was clean and had everything needed. Property manager tessa was great. Owners went above and beyond by rescheduling us when we had to change plans due to my mom's passing. Amazing week in Big Bear. Highly recommend this cabin.

Our family had a nice stay here — a great deal of you want a place with a (preheated) hot tub. Checked so many other boxes, too: friendly and communicative hosts, convenient location, TVs in every room, super clean, and Keurig coffee maker with pods. Just know the master shower is snug, and the beds are very soft, depending on our personal preference. The kids loved their room, the hot cocoa, the games, and the proximity to the zoo and Dank Donuts.

We had a lovely time in this beautifully decorated cabin. The location was great, and everything was just within a few minute drive or walk. We were very warm inside during our short holiday getaway in December, and our hosts were very communicative with the whole process. We enjoyed using their grill, with tons of space in the backyard! They also had many streaming services on their TVs so it was worth spending time indoors. Highly recommend. :)

Very happy we stayed here many great memories were made. Would definitely come back!

We absolutely loved this property and all of the amazing amenities. The small things like boxes of tissue in each room, a coffee bar, the house being “preheated” prior to our arrival, every single appliance having directions, the amazing communication from Ed, the comfortable bed in the master, the excellent recommendations for food, etc etc etc. I could go on and on. We had a leisurely, relaxing stay at this fabulous home. It was close to absolutely everything from the Zoo to the Village. Thank you, Ed & Pam, for your amazing hospitality!

Sweet little house with plenty of room for everybody. It had almost everything you could need. Quiet neighborhood and only a few minutes from the lake and village. Highly recommend.

We couldn't have been more happy with our stay. The cabin is close enough to everything but, just far enough away so it's serene and relaxing. Donuts and coffee within a short walk. Our son loved seeing the zoo. He's still talking about the owls. We'll be looking for Pam and Ed's spot next trip to Big Bear.
Thank you very much for the terric hospitality!

We had a very comfortable stay. Kitchen is well appointed, bed was comfy, we lacked for nothing. Cabin is within walking distance to downtown main street and the zoo. We sat on the front porch and, with the exception of one neighbor, had the street practically to ourselves as it was off-season now.

We had a wonderful weekend at this property. Owners very extremely communicative and organized. The cabin was very cozy and nice. Most importantly, this was a great spot for our 2 year old. The backyard was fenced in so we felt safe letting him run around. Also, the owners had baby gates and bed rails available for us! Thanks for a great stay!

The property was easy to get to, walking distance to some yummy breakfast places, and about a 5 minute drive to tons of other restaurants, shops, and activities.
My sisters and I went to celebrate our sister’s 50th birthday. The kitchen had all the necessary appliances and accessories, the beds were comfy, and the wifi worked great.

This was our second stay here and will stay again if it is available next time we make a trip up to Big Bear.
It is a comfortable and cozy house for us (2 adults, 2 kids under 8). Other cabins we've stayed at in Big Bear have issues with keeping the house warm, this place doesn't, no cold spots or areas. The hot tub worked well and is in good shape.

We had a great time at Ed and Pam’s place. It was clean and so comfortable. Communication was great and we can’t wait to stay again.

My family went up for a couple of days right as a blizzard hit but because of the awesome location it was an easy 1mile to Bear Mtn. There was a host waiting for us on arrival to show us all the ins and outs of the place. Easy communication the entire time. Every thing you needed including a preheated hot tub was there! Super clean and cozy. We will definitely be back.

Our family had a great time in Big Bear. The cabin was convenienctly located - close to Summit Ski Lift - and restaurants. The cabin itself was perfect - very cozy, well organized and everything was working fine. The beds were comfortable. We enjoyed tremendously the outdoor jacuzzi. We can definitetely recommend this place and will visit again.

We had a very pleasant stay. The property is located close to the ski resorts on a quiet street. There was ample heating and a cozy gas fireplace. Beds were comfortable and covers were warm. The kitchen was also well-stocked. The owners were easy to communicate with and the check-in process was seamless.

Appreciate the good communication—suggested travel routes, eating establishments, we arrived during stormy conditions and met hostess as she anticipated. We appreciate the clean and comfortable conditions—well equipped! We appreciate the No fragrance efforts. All well-suited to our needs. Thank you
PS I do find the various added costs (not publicized) for insurance, use of jacuzzi, deposits, etc. incurred over and above the listed price to be a bit unexpected and may alter our intended future rental pursuits, but I understand that there have been lots of variables with property rentals, so, nothing personal?
Thank you

My family and I stayed at Moonridge over Christmas. It was a beautiful cottage, even decorated for the season!
We all had a wonderful time playing in the snow in the backyard and playing board games by the fireplace.
The cottage is very well appointed, I prepared a full Christmas dinner with ease.
The hosts are wonderful! I highly recommend Moonridge Cottage!

This place was a beautiful cabin. Beautiful wildlife. Close to the slopes and just a short drive to the village. The amenities the host offer here are awesome. Super warm welcoming. Home away from home. Always checking in to make sure the guests are having a good time. They have awesome recommendations. If you've never visited the mountains. Ed and Pams is a beautiful place to stay for a couple or small family. Thanks guys.

Overall, this is a great stay. Ed is very communicative and hospitable. There were many amenities and good attention to detail throughout the home. The house was clean, well-maintained, and the area felt safe for our family of four. I would recommend staying here.
The only drawback with our stay seems to be related to the city’s rules and the owners’ efforts to meet the rules. There is a Ring camera on the front of the house that I understand is due to people breaking the occupancy rules, but it does feel a bit invasive. There are laminated signs all over the inside of the home with instructions or rules, there are rules about noise, and you have to drive your own trash off site or it’s a fee. Standing alone, some of these factors might not have mattered as much, but all of it combined made the stay feel a bit cumbersome.

In this day of terrible customer service this was a breath of fresh air. The owners Ed and Pam are incredibly nice people and honestly want you to have a wonderful time on your vacation. They text us things to do with a list of restaurants along with a cell number to use if we had any issues with the cabin. The cabin is in a great location for the ski resort and right next to downtown. I would rate this 1-10 a 10 and I throw around compliments like man hole covers.

The home was just what you would want when renting a vacation home; clean, cozy, and everything you need to call home while on vacation. The neighborhood is quiet, and the proximity to a various things of interest is just a few minutes away. The owners Ed and Pat are the consummate Hosts. We felt very much at home and not a tourist which is not a bad thing, the home and hospitality took the tourist out of the living experience.

We had a great time, very relaxing. Perfect for a long weekend getaway.
