About this house rental

We welcome you to share in the comfort and beauty of our family home! You can enjoy the breathtaking view from the coziness of the great room through the wall of glass that faces the widest part of the lake. Or you can take in the view from the balcony that extends the length of the house, the screen porch below or from the grass patio at the lakefront.

This special house has two and a half levels -

On the main floor which is easily accessed with a single step from our ample parking area, you will come through a small but well equipped kitchen into an expansive great room with a complete wall of sliding glass doors to view the lake. There is a large stone fireplace, queen sleeper sofa, plenty of other seating, and a TV with VCR/ DVD and satellite, and stereo with CD player. The dining area has large table that seats 8-10. The table and chairs on the balcony can either augment your dining space or allow you to lounge throughout the day surrounded by the trees and the wonderful view. The master bedroom with kingsize bed and master bath are also on this level.

The house's upper level with balcony that overlooks the main floor has 2 bedrooms (one with a queen bed and another with 2 twin beds, and a full bath as well as a closet filled with a huge assortment of board games and puzzles for a variety of ages.There is also a wide array of videos and DVD's for you to enjoy - and lots of good books too!

Our lower level has a game room with queen sleeper sofa, ping pong table, TV with VCR and DVD player, and a bedroom with 3 twin beds, and a full bath. There is also a twin rollaway bed and a queen aerobed for those extra visitors.

Step from the game room onto a screen porch with rocking chairs to enjoy the lake and mountain views from yet another perspective.

Ready to go to the lakeside? You will find several adirondack chairs awaiting you on the grass patio with a small perennial garden as their backdrop. Relax there and soak in the views. Or ... sunbathe on the docks or on top of the boathouse. When you get really hot, jump into the water from the boathouse roof or the dock! Between the docks is a very child-friendly swimming area that slopes gently as it becomes deep enough for diving at the end of the the docks and boathouse. Use the dense foam floats to wile away the time as you enjoy the gentle currents of the lake, have a water volleyball game in the swim area between the docks, or use the canoe or kayaks that are available. Or - for nonwater lovers, take a nap in the hammock in the shade. And if you don't want to leave the lakeside, bring water, soda, ice tea or other beverages and stock the small fridge in the boathouse - and enjoy snacks or sandwiches at the picnic table! At dusk you will enjoy wonderful sunsets from the perspective that others from all over the lake come in their boats to see. In the evening, relax by the lake as the moon rises over the water.

Bring your own motorboat or rent one and tie it up on the dock so you can use it to enjoy all that the lake has to offer . Whatever your preference of activity, it is wonderful to be in or near the water.

Our family stayed during the 4th of July holiday. We loved the location of this home, as well as the amazing views it had to offer. Everyone had enough room to spread out, as well as coming together to spend time. We highly recommend this lake home for families to use as a retreat.

We can’t begin to thank you enough for opening your family’s home to us! It was a place full of laughter, a place for storytelling, a place for reflection and a place of new memories! When walked in the door we felt like home! On Thanksgiving day it was gorgeous outside and we ate on the back deck while watching the pontoon boats, the paddle boards and the fishermen enjoying their day as well. Although our families felt the loss of our niece and my dad, we honored their wishes and we lived life to the fullest while being truly blessed by your gift of home! Your home well so well equipped! This is such a beautiful property and well-represented by the listing. Everything we needed was provided and Lindy’s attention to detail made our family getaway very comfortable and relaxing. We especially enjoyed the direct access to the lake and how convenient it was to pull the kayaks in and out through the weekend. We will definitely be back!

My family stayed the week of the Fourth at the Mandy home. The location was perfect for everyone, had so much fun on the lake and the home had everything we needed! Kids had a ball in the water and so did the adults. Three levels so gave us plenty of space!

Property was as described. Three levels was great for our extended family. Each family had their own level. Breathtaking views. A special bonus was the property was across the lake from the house we owned when I was young. We rented a boat and used the kayaks, floats and vests. Quite a trek up and down the hill but worth it. None of us had hand washed dishes in a while and found we liked it. Everyone pitched in and anything we needed was available in the kitchen. We took advantage of many of the games and puzzles. Enjoyed every minute and hated to leave.

The house was a little difficult to find- not being readily visible from the entrance above (where an address could be posted). The house was wonderful with the only exception of not having a dishwasher. The views were breath-taking. Thanks.

House is a quintessential older lake house with a great layout for friends and family. The setting, view, waterfront area is unbelievable! Our kids and a couple of the adults loved jumping off the boat house and swimming at the house. We rented a pontoon that got delivered and picked up from the house. Good stuff!

Our top loves of this house in order: 1. The view is absolutely spectacular. I could sit all day in the Adirondacks and look at the lake and mountains beyond. Watching the water sports out in the biggest part of the lake was also a lot of fun. 2. The toys were a big hit with our whole family. We played hours of ping pong, went on several kayaking trips using all three kayaks available for guests (one is great for a parent and 2 kids even), and the docks and thick’s foam floats were perfect for casual hanging out time in the water. 3. Good amount of space- It was nice to have 3 full bathrooms, 2 living/ lounge areas, and best of all 2 porches (one screened and one not). We definitely want to come back!

This was our 2nd time vacationing at this wonderful place. The house has ample space for family or friends and the views are spectacular of Lake Lure from there. The owner provided many amenities to make our stay enjoyable which included kayaks and a canoe we explored the lake with. The towns of Lake Lure and Chimney Rock are nearby as are many restaurants and a large Ingles grocery store is a few miles away. We enjoyed exploring trails and Hickory Nut Falls at Chimney Rock and Pearson Falls near Saluda. We took a drive to see the impressive Biltmore House and gardens in Asheville while there also. We love the Poole home as it is located in a nice peaceful area where you can relax and enjoy family and friends and it is also close to many beautiful places to go explore. A. Gibbs

It was a family trip, all adults, so the access to the lake and kayaks was wonderful. It’s very mid century decor but warm and inviting and very clean. The homeowners were extremely responsive and accommodating. Will miss the amazing views, coffee in the morning and wine time in the afternoon. Truly enjoyed every minute.

We had the most wonderful time at this incredible home! We genuinely could not have dreamed it any better than this. From the well-loved family house, to the unparalleled views, to the nonstop and super fun lake activities, we had the time of our lives. We all were in heaven while hanging out by--and in -- the beautiful lake. The kayaks and floaties provided endless entertainment, and the thrill of jumping off the boathouse roof never got old for the kids! The sunsets were magical -- gorgeous beyond description. The chairs by the water's edge provided such a nice hanging out spot for family, and the end of the docks were perfect for daydreaming, or dangling legs, or crazy cannonballs, or just scanning for fish. We cannot thank the homeowners enough for opening their incredible home to us! We felt so grateful and blessed the entire time we were there and cannot wait to go back. Thank you so much

Fantastic place to kick back and enjoy the beautiful lake. Sunsets were phenomenal! Kitchen is well stocked , beds are comfortable, restaurants 20 minutes away. Recommend victory kitchen and Esmeralda or stop in Ingles grocery to grill some salmon in your home away from home. We would love to return. Thank you for sharing your family home.
