About this cabin rental

If you are looking for a private, quiet retreat, that's only 15 minutes from Deep Creek Lake, Wisp Resort, shopping, etc., this cabin is for you. Inside the cabin you'll find a well equipped kitchen, a large living area with a wood burner for cool evenings, a laundry room, a loft bedroom, and a bathroom with shower/tub combo. Outside there's a screened porch with chairs, a campfire area, a hammock, beautiful boulders. We've cleared a trail through the woods that leads to a bench for wildlife viewing or just relaxing.
Sleeping arrangements are a queen bed in the loft and a full pull out couch in the living room.
If you're looking for dates that are already booked, check out Fern Hill Cabin on Bear Ridge Court for available dates. It's in the same general location. Sorry no dogs at Fern Hill Cabin.
PLEASE BE ADVISED, A 4x4 OR ALL-WHEEL VEHICLE IS REQUIRED DURING THE WINTER MONTHS. I RECOMMEND NOV 1ST THROUGH APRIL 15. VISTA RIDGE DRIVE AND THE DRIVEWAY TO THE CABIN ARE ONLY PLOWED AFTER 6" OF SNOW HAS FALLEN

Cabin location was amazing! If you’re looking to just get away and unplug then this is the place. Beautiful cabin with all the amenities and comfort of home but away from everyday nonsense.

This cabin is perfect & beautiful. The landscaping had me breathless, from the flowers to the bird feeders, the firepit, to the hidden treasure of benches in the wooded area. A perfect get away nestled on top of a mountain in Maryland. We will definitely be back to the Boulder Ridge cabin. Thanks for the hospitality and sharing your precious gift a home away from home

This is the second time my wife and I rented a cabin from Susan and John, last time staying at their other cabin. We take a trip every year to a cabin for a weekend and while others advertise a "cabin in the woods" it's usually a cabin in the woods surrounded by other cabins. Not so with this one. You ARE in the woods and although there are properties nearby, they are far enough away where you have a sense of privacy and seclusion. The surroundings are absolutely beautiful with trees, walking trails, and NO NOISE. It's a great escape for a weekend to just relax and you're close enough to Deep Creek to take a drive during the day. We were entertained by hummingbirds, deer, a turkey and birds zooming in and out of the birdhouses. The property is clean, well-kept, and cozy and we built a fire in the evening. As someone who grew up in the middle of the city, this is a real treat for me. We were able to take our 14-year old mini-pin/italian greyhound mix with us and we enjoyed walking him on the trails. Susan and John, you do a great job of making your guests feel at home. Thank you for such a wonderful time!

Susan's property was very comfortable and was a great place to stay for accessing the Upper Yough. We also really enjoyed the beautiful hikes in West Virginia.

We were looking to disconnect and this was the perfect place to decompress. The hostess was communicative and words cannot express the cabin. Beautiful and modern. Stocked with anything you would need. Thank you for allowing us to stay!

This was our third visit to Boulder Ridge. The cabin is clean, tastefully decorated, and well-stocked with necessary items. The addition of wifi and the smart TV since our last visit was a nice surprise! We brought our redbone coonhound with us. She lives it there too! It is such a peaceful place! We will be back again.

We enjoyed our stay. Equipped with everything we needed. Saw deer outside which was pretty cool. It's a 20 minute drive to Deep Creek but not terrible. Only downside for us older folks, is that the bathroom is on the first floor and the bedroom is on the 2nd floor. Not convenient for those middle of the night bathroom runs! Otherwise a great stay!

We loved the cabin, everything was great, from the woods around us to the comfortable furniture and bed. We got a surprise snow and the landscape was beautiful. We will definitely be returning for a spring/summer or fall visit.

Our second stay at the cabin. Bitter cold and snowy once again just like we wanted. We stayed cozy by the wood burning stove and enjoyed some time as WISP. Thanks for having us again!

This one bedroom cabin is well appointed and cozy with all the amenities that you would want for a getaway. The hosts were very communicative and thought of every detail for the cabin accommodations. The property is tucked away enough to enjoy solitude while also being close enough to the key things to do in Deep Creek. The grounds included trails and many birdhouses to attract wildlife and the back porch is a perfect place to enjoy the sunset in the winter. Plenty id towels, blankets, and kitchen appliances so we had everything we needed for the weekend. I hope to come back very soon to enjoy this cabin again - it’s by far the nicest one I have stayed at when visiting Deep Creek over the years!

My husband and I celebrated our 31st anniversary in this comfy cabin retreat. This place is immaculate, and the hosts have thought of everything to make your stay comfortable. The wood burning stove was a delightful finishing touch on a chilly fall night. We will be back for sure!

My husband and I were celebrating our 40th wedding anniversary. The cabin was AWESOME!!! A great place to just get away, even if it was just for a few days, and refresh. Very quiet, secluded, clean. All basic necessities were supplied plus extra. Loved going for walks, sitting on the bench overlooking mountain. Also thoroughly enjoyed sitting on the screened in porch, drinking coffee and watching the deer. Looking forward to the next time we can get away.

Beautiful cabin. Susan has thought of everything you could possibly need on a trip. Very clean and nicely decorated. The weather was unfortunately horrible every day. Susan had plenty of movies and games to help pass our time.We hope to stay again next year.

The property is situated just perfectly for us. Within an hour or so we could be to the many places we wanted to see. Fort Necessity, Coopers Rock, Arthurdale Morgantown. Only 20 minutes from Oakland and McHenry. The area in Friendsville where the cabin sits is very private. We really enjoyed " coming home" after a day spent adventuring.

We couldn't wait to return to this delighful cabin. The place is spacious, clean, and tranquil that has a good Internet signal, too - I was able to do some work (sadly!) on my laptop from in the back yard. Things we like to do in the area: exploring the Rock Maze, birdwatching in the Sang Run park, swimming in the Swallow Falls park, kayaking on the Deep Creek lake, whitewater rafting, and shopping at the Candyland! Boulder Ridge cabin is ideally located to all our favorite activities. We'll definitely return there.

The cabin is perfectly nestled in in the woods and it is so quiet we could hear hummingbird's wings in the morning! It has everything you need for a relaxing stay. Near enough to the lake attractions but out of the way to not be near the noise Great hosts!!

A lovely cabin, wonderful location near a variety of State Parks and forests! We were impressed by the cleanliness and the nice amenities. Rain or shine, we were comfortable the entire time- inside resting, outside exploring the zen trail, viewing birds, other wildlife and the beautiful forest. The view out the kitchen window is amazing! We look forward to returning to this cabin in the future.

Everything we wanted. Close enough to Deep Creek for some site seeing. Cabin is beautiful. We love hanging around the fire pit in the evening. Coffee on the screened in porch watching chipmunks, deer and hummingbirds. Peaceful and serene.

This cabin was better than what I expected. The place made us feel like we were out in the middle of no where. It definitely gave a warm cozy atmosphere. My husband and I wanted to get away for a relaxing weekend. We were greeted with snacks, which was a nice touch. We watched streaming services on the TV, which was really nice that the owner made available for us. The place had nice comfortable sofa/loveseat. Very comfortable bed. Enjoyed the loft. Everything you needed in the kitchen to make breakfast/dinners. Lots of linens to use. Loved the screened in porch. It is very dark and quiet outside and it was nice to have motion lights. There was actually cell service and the internet worked great. Will definitely rent again!

We’ve stayed multiple times at Boulder Ridge Cabin. It is obvious that Susan and John have poured their hearts into this cabin. Everything from the cozy interior to the meandering trails snaking through right on the property is absolutely perfect for a truly relaxing getaway!
