About this cabin rental
Come enjoy a stunning, handcrafted log home, situated on well stocked, 63 acre semi-private lake. Although the official description is “cabin”, visitors invariably claim “Cabin? That is no cabin!”
While nestled in a large stand of red pines and birch trees, the girth of the cabin logs outsize the trees surrounding it. Visitors are immediately wooed onto the wrap-around deck providing a great perch to view the 400+ feet of shoreline. When you first enter the home you will be awed by the craftsmanship; from the log work in the 24 ft. high vaulted ceiling, to the local fieldstone fireplace. The antiques and cabin themed décor is just the icing on the cake.
our rate is based on 6 guests, but we allow up to 10. Additional fees apply for each guest over 6.
IInside you will find one bedroom on each of the three floors, providing a bit of solitude for each. The basement bedroom is decorated in the manner of old logging camps typical of the area. A handmade, reclaimed barnwood bunk bed is outfitted with new mattresses and can fit adults or children. Also in that room is a full sized sleigh bed. The room adjoins a well-appointed bathroom with a large shower and cozy woodland feel.
The main floor has an Eastern facing bedroom welcoming great sunrises over the lake. A walkout sliding door gives secluded, quiet access to the wrap around deck. The vaulted ceiling and fan, and two extra windows, allow sleeper to control the airflow in a myriad of ways. The bedroom is joined to the second full bath, with a vintage claw footed tub and reclaimed needle work art from area antique stores.
The loft bedroom is accessed by a lovely log stairwell. The view is stunning and the square footage impressive. The ½ bath provides a private place to get ready and for convenient restroom needs.
Besides these bedrooms, there is a hide-a-bed couch in the basement, and plenty of room for an extra air mattress. All together the house sleeps 10 people in beds (or hide-a-beds). Bring your own air mattress and linens if you require more sleeping arrangements. The main living area has plenty of seating (including around the dining table) and extra chairs are scattered around the home for use as well.
The owner can provide lots of ideas of things to do, but the local area supports hunters of all types, fishermen, snowmobilers, hikers, cross country skiers, antique hounds, and people who enjoy central Wisconsin in general. Day trip ideas will be provided in a separate excursion description. The lake is a private lake, but you can launch a boat with 10 hp max engine on a shared access across the lake.
Feel free to bring kayaks, canoes or paddle boats as well. The dock is outfitted with boat bumpers, a bench and a ladder for swimmers.
Our house is the only rental in the neighborhood. All of the residents are hard working folks and they aren't always happy when guests get a little rambunctious. Fireworks, music piped outside, drones, F'Bomb balloon fights, GUNS, blow up dolls....you have no idea. If you were looking to bust loose and have a "rambunctious" stay I might suggest you look for someplace a little more remote or in the heart of a vacation town. Ours is a quiet nights and working families raising-kids kind of neighborhood. You'll have a serene stay at our house and the neighbors appreciate this way.
This property has one security camera mounted on the garage recording only the driveway and front door.

We did a stay with family for Labor Day weekend. It is a beautiful cabin that is far enough away from town that it is relaxing, but close enough if need to run to town to grab something. The lake is beautiful and the large deck was perfect for hanging out on. If you are looking for a relaxing place this is definitely one to consider.

This place was great and we’re already planning our trip here next year! The most well-stocked kitchen we’ve ever had at any rental before! And plenty of towels and bedding. We’re a pretty easy group to please. We brought our own boats and fishing gear. Communication with hosts was great and they were available when we needed some help. In the guest book there is a fun scavenger hunt that previous guests made up. Lots of cool things to discover in this house! Full of antiques! Quiet neighborhood in the northwoods with just a short drive to Medford

This was an amazing property. My daughters enjoyed swimming/jumping off the dock. Our two dogs swam for hours every day that we were there. We hardly left the cabin because we enjoyed being there so much. Thanks for sharing this property with us!

This is the second year we have stayed at this beautiful home. We love the spaciousness and are happy the placed is dog-friendly. We are impressed with how quiet the home is inside and out. The lake was crystal clear, warm and beautiful. We brought a lily pad and enjoyed that and the raft provided. We also brought our kayaks and our whole family enjoyed many gorgeous paddles on this quiet lake.
The owner is so communicative, fair and kind. She loves sharing this lovely home with her guests and you can tell! We will be back!

The owners were very responsive and wonderful hosts. All in all it was a fabulous experience and we look forward to *hopefully* coming back!!

The cabin is cozy and well decorated. We loved playing eye spy all around the cabin with the kids. It was the perfect space for our family of 4 to get together with grandparents and a sibling’s family. Plenty of space to relax and enjoy meals together.
We took advantage of the fully equipped kitchen and gas grill. There was with a view from the kitchen sink window of the humming bird feeder with frequent fliers.
There was great fishing right off the dock. We caught Blue Gills, Crappie, Perch, Large Mouth Bass, and one Walleye. One afternoon we even had a Pike hiding under the dock trying to intercept our catch. Turtles and frogs were common visitors to the water front part of the property.
We brought our kayaks and it was easy to put in and take out right next to the dock. We also did a little swimming from the end of the dock to the floating dock. The weeds were limited and the ladder was very helpful to avoid the muddy shore.
Krista was very responsive and readily available by phone for any of our needs.
Thank you for having us and we hope to stay with you again in the future!

From the first time seeing this cabin we were amazed. Beautiful rustic real log cabin. Great location. Very clean. We knew it was furnished, but the decor had personal ties to their family that made it feel more like a home than just a rented condo or hotel. It was much better than expected. The owner’s recommendations to go to pizza on the farm was spot on. Along with the local fish fry. Made our long weekend perfect and can’t wait to go back! Thank you!

The cabin was in great condition and really nice. Very spacious. We were there in the winter so I can’t comment on the fishing or the huge deck but I’m sure it’ll be great in the summer.

Our extended family stayed at the cabin over a long New Years weekend. We found the log cabin to be comfortable and spacious for our gatherings. The cabin is nicely decorated (Christmas trees/decor a nice added touch!) and well furnished with all we needed - a well equipped kitchen for cooking meals, large tables for meals and game time, comfy furniture for lounging by fire.
Unfortunately, weather kept us from enjoying the great porches and outdoors but seeing the lake from living areas inspired conversations about a return visit during another season.
As a host, Krista was very responsive to the few questions we had before & during our stay and made us feel welcome. We look forward to future visit to the cabin.

Nice cabin for a larger family. Great views on a quiet lake lakeshore. Be prepared that it is in a farming community. Had a hard time finding good dining or fun local hangouts. The cabin has all amenities for cooking full meals. Lots of seating space for everone and comfortable furniture. Areas for improvement would be to perform a deep cleaning and wash all the windows. Visible dust and cobwebs in bedrooms as well as visible stains in carpets. Incredible lake views from loft and livingroom obscured by dirty windows a spinder-webs. Only one shower on site and we had a full sewer tank alarm go off on our second day there. Had to pay for fire wood and asked to take garbage and recycling home with us if possible. The walkway down to the bon-fire pit was a problem. So many leaves ao stairs, rocks, and steep decline we had two people slip and fall down. A quick rake or leaf blower would have helped tremendously to add a level of safety. Seems like the upkeep my be slipping during the years of rentals. Great communications with owners and easy check-in. We had a great time but we will not be going back.

Our group of 55, 60 and 61 year-olds along with our sons stayed for the deer season. The cabin is so cozy and comfortable we had a difficult time motivating ourselves to go out to hunt. We all praised the accommodations to the point that our wives are now talking about scheduling a couples vacation there.

After a very long year handling family issues, we needed a few days to relax. This property was just what we needed...quiet. Loved having the dock available. We have stayed at some properties where it has been taken out by this time.

What can I say? Excellent Excellent Excellent. This place was beautiful in every way. Great space for the family to spread out. It had everything you need to be right at home. Fishing was incredible. We caught over 40 fish but it was just for sport. We didn’t eat them . Kids had a blast in the clean clean water. Best place we ever stayed. You won’t be disappointed in any way. Stay here for your next vacation. Thanks to the owners for a great stay.

The stately yet cozy log home sits above quiet Romeo
lake and invites the loons to sing their tune for us fortunate visitors. Family, friends, and dog "Scout" had a delightful time at this wonderful property. Much fun hiking, kayaking, and enjoying times around the fire.

Overall nice stay. The hosts are easy to communicate with and quick to respond. We spent most of our outdoor time on the spacious deck. Only wish the listing had been more clear about the walk down to the water. It is a wide gravel path and can be pretty steep in spots.

We loved the cabin and all the amenities. The area is peaceful and everything a Northwoods vacation should be. The lake was pristine and our five year old granddaughter caught 35 fish in two days! She was thrilled! We highly recommend the pizza and experience at Stony Acres--its worth the drive!

The house was amazing! Large open layout, but very cozy for our family of 8. The home is meticulously decorated and so comfortable, plenty of room to spread out. The lake was a big hit for 4 boys who swam off the dock everyday. The huge wraparound deck

The cabin was absolutely beautiful on a gorgeous, peaceful lake! We had an amazing, relaxing weekend. Our main negative was that we ran out of TP but I'm guessing that was just a fluke. There were also more guest expectations than in other VRBOs where I've stayed. Nevertheless, we had a fantastic stay!

This home is beautiful and was the perfect spot for my family to spend a few days together creating memories. There was plenty to do, fishing, bird watching, and games for a rainy day. We brought our kayaks with us and enjoyed paddling around the very clean lake. This was my first VRBO experience, the bar has been set high.

My extended family had a great time staying in this beautiful log home. It was clean and comfortable, and everything we needed was available. The back deck with a view of the lake was a great place to sit and drink coffee and chat. We particularly enjoyed the decor - wherever we looked we saw something new and interesting!

Spent 3 nights at this amazing home. Stayed for snowmobiling trip. House had ample parking for our trucks and trailers. House is in a little sub division so one needs to be respectful of neighbors coming and going on noisy snowmobiles Owners were very friendly and communication was top notch. Would stay there again for sure

Absolutely a wonderful experience, lovely cabin, cozy fireplace, great location, and exceptional VRBO Host. Best in the business. Flexible, accommodating, and responsive. We have rented many VRBO, but I would call the hosts the best in the business. We are already looking to book our next cabin get away in Medford here as there were a few supper clubs nearby that we have not yet experienced. Highly recommend this cabin.

My husband and I recently sold our home of 25yrs, that we lived in and raised our two daughters. We moved into a townhome in a different city and needed to start some new Holiday traditions. This home was perfect! They decorated it for Christmas, it was so cold outside-but so cozy inside! Our family had a fantastic Christmas. The snow around the home made it look like we were in a Hallmark Christmas movie. Everything we needed for our 4 day stay was there. Wonderful communication and you can tell the owners truly care about this property!

Our family, our dogs, and our friend all enjoyed this cabin. The place was beautiful, there were many spaces to spread out and read or work or play, there was a very detailed guest book of information, the kitchen was well stocked with cooking and baking utensils, and the hosts were very easy to communicate with. All around a great place to be!

We celebrated my husband’s birthday with a relaxing vacation at this beautiful property! We were thankful that we could bring our dog with us too! The cabin was a unique mix of comfort and rustic with many antiques to admire. We spent our time enjoying the backyard porch looking at the lake, and walking down by the dock. We played board games and watched movies; it was perfect for a quiet family weekend!
