Our Expectations of Guests
Taking Care
We are a small family business simply trying to navigate what the new normal is while also trying to maintain the health of our guests and ourselves. We expect that our guests have taken great care and precaution, as we have, to self-quarantine and social distance. We know the Adirondacks is beloved to many which is why we’re opening our doors in a limited way. We will welcome guests who have self-quarantined prior to arrival for 14 days and who are feeling well and healthy. We expect our guests to be honest - that they have not come into contact with anyone that has had active COVID-19. Our cabins host 8 or fewer people. Only one cabin will be rented to each party. We will disallow congregating in groups of more than 10. This restriction may ease later in the summer. If you do not feel you can meet these expectations, please cancel your reservation.

Generally it was as I expected. The cabin size was as listed. The lighting inside was not as bright as I would have liked, as we were inside lot. Unfortunately the weather was not good so we did not spend any time outside, nor did we use the outside grill.
Both experiences would have added to our time there. I did discuss with Marjorie the difficulty we had in reading the temperatures on the oven dial (they are worn off). Also there was some dispute (!) not knowing if the stove flue was open or closed. Something to indicate this would have helped.

Nice old cabin with lots of charm! The decor is as you would expect for an older cabin but we don’t care about that. Has a dock for the boat and easy passage from cabin to dock.
The owner was charming and helpful.

After staying in a different cabin on this property six years ago (Camp Adelle), we were slightly disappointed that we could barely see the lake from the cabin this time (Camp Victor). The dock was a bit of a walk downhill and away from the cabin, and our kids couldn't go wading in the water there (it had lots of deep muck that was hard even for adults to walk through). They had fun fishing there, and I think it would've been fine for boating. The cabin itself was nice, so it's just important to read the descriptions and realize that the experience might be very different from one to the next. Marjorie was a very friendly, helpful host. Our boys also loved playing with Piper the dog!

Really nice and quiet. Great for those who have boats.
It was really nice cabin with quiet surroundings. Great for boating and just enjoying family time.

We had a great time at Camp Victor. We really didn’t do a lot and it was wonderful. It was so lovely to just sit by the water and read. Next time we will be bringing our kayaks! And our dog had a great time, too, and enjoyed a lot of off-leash time around the cabin.

Fun Rustic Stay
This is a stunning and peaceful place just a short drive from downtown Saranac, great hikes, the locks to Lower Saranac and more if you have a boat. The only new experience was having to mop and excess clean after our stay. Overall, it was wonderful.
