We enjoyed staying here:)

Our group had an awesome stay and would return to this home. The location was perfect, and the size of the home was perfect for two couples and a one-year-old. Would definitely return!

This is a great location and the property has great bones. It could use some updating and perhaps a bit of work on the electrical. The outlets on one wall in the living room worked sporadically. Host was very thorough and pleasant.

The house was really nice, just needs a little cleaning, was dusty.
4.0
Poor quality. Linens and towels are rags and only one set that wont stay on the bed, no laundry facility and one set of linens is a pain, sheets and blankets were stained, furniture is uncomfortable with one futon broken, maintenance is lacking, trash around the outside, cheap plastic chairs for outside, bed is dirty and old with foam pad on the top of it, cleaning is not well done, Owner should read all their negative guest comments in the book and invest some money in this unit.

Loved this location! The place, however, needs a very deep cleaning. Bring your own bath towels, the ones there are literally rags-holes, stains and all. Because of the location, we'd stay there again. We'll just bring more of our own linens.

The towels and bed sheets were very old.
TV too small, pretty much no too comfortable.

Overall good experience. Once AC was on, it took a very long time to cool down. My guess is due to being off all week and how hot its been this could be the cause. There is no longer a firestick at the house for the tv. But it has a roku tv. Was difficult to figure out but for watching shows you just need to use the free pluto app.
The house is not right on the beach bit its very close. Only 1 house in front but otherwise it was great.
All in all my family and i enjoyed the house. We would stay here again.

It was a great house with beach view and access to what I felt like a private beach. Love all the details of the house and specially the AC. Def will come back to this home in the future.

The location, place, and communication with the manager were great. We did not like that there were quite a few roaches (I believe they were water roaches). We also found a live maggot in the towel in the restroom. This is the main reason we did not rate higher. If you stay there, it is a good place, but bring your own towels sheets, and blankets/pillows.

The house was clean, right on the beach and it’s perfect for hanging out at night and hearing the waves. The host Karen has been super helpful and nice with everything, the house gives off such a cozy feeling, we loved it!

I liked the location of this house. It is just a few extra steps to the beach. It was all acceptable for a small mexican rental. That being said, I have rented nicer places for less. All the complaints in other reviews are accurate to a degree (I could live with most all of the issues). The thing I really did not like was the lack of privacy. Both neighbor houses were occupied, construction was happening one house over and the windows and glass door look right into the other houses. I put a sarong over the glass door and could only really open half of 3 curtains and still feel okay. The master matress is horrible- it hurt my back and I might have switched to a futon, but although they are counted as beds, there are no sheets for them. The beds and couches need updating and a privacy wall would be nice. It was just bad luck that I was there at a busy time. If the neighbor houses had been empty, it would have been a much better experience (especially when the neighbors are playing loud music, letting their beach things blow everywhere and overflowing the trash cans). The kichen could be better stocked- no cutting board, ice cube trays or a speck of salt and the pots are old with teflon coating. The rental process was smooth and easy. If I knew the main house was unoccupied, I would probably go back.

Will definitely stay again! I appreciate all the tips in the reviews.

We have a great time, the house have very good location in front of the beach and very good view

It’s a pretty good, if basic house in a good location. However, it did really smell of stale cigarette smoke so we had to air it out daily. Also, the lighting in the main room is inadequate to do most fine tasks, especially reading. This might be in part because the fixtures are full of bugs. Ironically, if you are a light sleeper know that there is constant light coming into the bedroom all night from the security lighting outside. Also, if you are planning to use the kitchen you will need to bring extra towels, basket style coffee filters, a sharp knife and other things you rely on because the kitchen is not well-appointed. The managers supply two trash bags and two rolls of toilet paper, so if you’re staying longer than a few days it’s not so convenient. Otherwise, the beach is pretty and it’s reasonably quiet at night.

Cable not operative upon arrival, was repaired the next day, however the volume control was never adequate, we could never adjust with the controls provided. The rental was clean and charming and overall we enjoyed our stay!!

It was exactly as described. The only issue we had was when we first went in the house smelled like cigar smoke. It wasn’t as strong as the days went on. Also, the white pillar at the front of the property needs to have the number’s repainted. It looks like it was scraped off. Overall, it was very comfortable and a great location. We definitely would like to return to this location.

Great place. Clean. Right on beach.

This house truly wreaked of cigarettes. I nearly left and found a new place to stay it smelled so bad. It required daily air outs to be tolerable and still gave my SO issues with her asthma.
The location was okay, the directions to the house were abysmal and the location on VRBO is incorrect. You can 100% use Google maps to get to the house, since that's how I eventually got there, tagged as the Casita Chapman.
The beach access was a high point since it was very close to the beach which was nice. The house was a bit outdated but all things considered it was okay. The sheets were far to old to stay on the mattress and constantly came off. The there was no way to block the sun in the master bedroom so sleeping in wasn't an option.
If I had paid half of what I did for the stay, I would have been much more accepting of all these issues, but for the cost of this location, I would never stay here again.

We had a fun good experience. There was a power outage and the air conditioning didn’t turn back on but that could happen anywhere. Communication and response time with the agent was great and all our needs were fulfilled.

The home was small and cute, But it was not so clean. The toilet seat was broken.. nearly fell. The sheets had rips and were very worn and old. The towels were dirty and had stains on them again very old. The kitchen needs a good deep cleaning. Maybe fix the stove because the burners were crooked and it was a little difficult to cook. We had problems with the water it ran out 2 times the second time we did call the owner and she sent someone to fix it, I don’t want to say everything was bad because overall we did enjoy our stay it’s just those little things. They had good wifi and It was very close to the beach. I guess I should have paid better attention to the description because there is also no washer and dryer. It wasn’t that bad we had just stayed at really good condos/homes in the past at RP and sadly this was not for us. However it would be great for those who have difficulty walking a lot since you could park right by the home and the beach is so close. I hate to not leave a 5 star review but It’s just my experience.

I had a very relaxing 4 days!!!! I loved that people come by the house and offer food massage and cocktails….I took advantage of all three. Also the beach is a few steps away can’t wait til it warms up to come back!!!!

Lots of charm. Good location. Yes there was soliciting, but is was very easy to say no when you wanted. The tv worked great! Just need to sign in with your own Amazon account. Don’t stress, just remember to sign out before you leave. Beds were comfortable. I Didn’t use the futons. The kitchen was plenty stocked. I always bring my own sharp knife. But there was plenty of provided pots, pans, baking dish (1) good enough for my week vacation. Thank you for the touches of color!

Although the location was nice, just set back from the beach, the kitchen countertops and cabinets were dirty with a sticky grime. We had to wash the dishes before use, because of grime. There were no chairs to use to enjoy the beach, and the property manager did not respond to our request for chairs. Would not stay at this property again because of the poor condition and filth of the kitchen and dishes, & pots/pans. Kitchen is in dire need to be refurbished with clean countertops and cabinets. We were provided with very used sponges to wash our own dishes before & after use. The tv did not work . Not pleased at all, considering the price paid to stay.

Sandy toes and sunburned nose! When you come to the beach, imperfection, dumpy is expected, with usage and nobody living there full time, we don't expect perfection!
First I want to say Karen is awesome! responsive, kind, generous and totally on it, no complaints with customer service at all!
The house itself is a little treasure, it sits behind and to the side of the main house a bit, patio view is awesome, private and comfortable. We took camp chairs after reading chairs provided were white plastic kind, not that great. We didn't use the fire pit or the grill, still a little warm. We kept our meals simple knowing there was no dishwasher. After reading reviews, we decided to take own frying pan, cutting board, knives and kitchen essentials. Really glad we did. only think we used was a pot to boil water and a few spoons. (We brought plastic forks, paper and plastic everything, I'm a green, sustainable believer but, didn't want to spend vacation doing dishes!)
Our first disappointment was the beds, 2 rooms (master has double) was going to let cousin have it, Im a morning person, she is not, I thought I'd sleep on one of the futons in main room so I could make coffee and use house while she slept in... well, unless you want to sleep in a taco shell... futons are not useable, not even that comfortable to sit on. So we drew straws for the twin room, glad I won the master, bed is very comfortable... but can't see getting 2 adults and a dog in that bed.
Cousin said twin bed was just ok, they were once bunks from around the 70's (as is most of the furniture in the house)
Bathrooms: Master shower great pressure, nice walk in cave design. Paper said small bars of soap provided in each bathroom, no soap. For the record, a bottle of hand soap is not the same! No place to hang towels, 3M one fell when I put my towel on it.
The other bathroom was not bad, same tiled shower, but the shower curtain, right in your face sitting on toilet, had what looked like a large feces/poop stain right in the middle!!(gag)! Closed that door and shared the master for the rest of the trip! How is that not noticed? Also the master bath has 2 bath mats so tiny totally useless!
Rug in living room is filthy and a tripping hazard, we rolled up, put in corner.
All in all, this house has great potential, I suggest owners stay a week and see it from renters perspective. It's a tiny treasure that I would love to own (hint)! We've stayed in much nicer places 4 half the fee.

We really enjoyed our short getaway before Thanksgiving. With Covid we were able to bring our own food and had a keyless entry. We really appreciated that so that we felt safe at all time during our trip. Everything was as pictured and I had everything to prepare meals for our family.

This is a great little place. The casita had everything that we needed, including a well-appointed kitchen - which can be hard to come by in a Puerto Penasco rental! Great communication with the host. We enjoyed our stay immensely.

We were looking for a quiet place where we could relax and enjoy long weekend with our dogs and this was just right. The casita is steps from the water and has nice views from the patio. Had everything we needed.
