We loved this little one bedroom accommodation. It had everything we needed - a comfortable bed, a great bathroom, a cute small yet complete kitchen and a great living area. Carol was a terrific host and was readily available to help with anything you might need. The walkability to downtown was great and the proximity to all the wonderful things to do in the area can’t be beat. Highly recommend and would definitely book here again.

The unit was very spacious and clean with a comfortable bed. Off street parking was available with a shared driveway. Our host Carol was most generous with her time and attention to our requests. We can recommend this property for either short or longer stays. No shortage of wineries and fine dining in this small town.

We have stayed here before and remember how lovely the home and neighborhood was to stay. Carol is very nice and friendly and the location can't be beat. You can walk to the dining areas and a quick, easy drive of 20 minutes or so will get you to Doran Beach. We plan on coming back as often as we can.

Nice
This cottage was very nice, clean and well appointed. It has obviously been recently updated. We were very relaxed while staying there... and the bed is comfortable! For us, a good thing was how close it is to stores, restaurants and other things we wanted to see and do. If you are able to walk a bit, it is a great location. Carol was easy to reach and very responsive through our planning and staying. If we're ever in Sebastopol again, we will definitely stay here.

A restful stay
My husband and I had a very restful Thanksgiving break in this property. We found the property very clean, the bathroom and small kitchen modern and beautifully remodeled and the house conveniently situated near downtown Sebastopol. We could walk to grocery stores (very useful for us since we fixed a simple Thanksgiving meal in the house!) and restaurants and explore the beautiful city of Sebastopol. We particularly enjoyed the unique "junk" art on Florence Avenue! Carol the owner was very accommodating and allowed us extra time in the house if we needed it.

Quiet, charming cottage
This cottage, attached to the main bungalow, is beautifully appointed. It is quite luxurious with a new, large bathroom, high quality towels, a kitchen one can cook in, and a deck on which to relax. This is a very quiet corner of charming Sebastapol. One can walk to delicious restaurants. Our host was appropriately attentive without ever being intrusive. We enjoyed tomatoes from her garden. She was most helpful since the day we left wildfires had erupted in Santa Rosa overnight, and parts of the main highway were closed. While we saw the ash and the brown sky, we were unaware of just what had caused these phenomena until her text to us explained the situation. Luckily, as she said, we were heading west and up the coast (although there was smoke in the air everywhere). I would certainly stay here again.

Wonderful home away from home
My wife and I had a great time in Sebastopol and absolutely loved saying in Carol’s cottage. She is an awesome host and very much gave a good deal of though into how to setup and stock this wonderful home. It was nice and quiet and very comfortable for us. The location is perfect and within a short walk to the downtown area where lots of shops and great restaurants are. We definitely will see if the cottage is available when we visit the area next time. Thank you Carol!

Perfect for wine country getaway
Carol's cottage was perfect for our anniversary wine country getaway. Sebastopol is a quick drive from cute towns, beautiful coastline, and many wineries. The town itself offers a lot to do and Carol's cottage is within walking distance to it all. The cottage is attached to Carol's house, but feels private. It has everything a couple needs for some time away, and we found Carol to be very kind and accommodating. Carol's place is a much better option to expensive hotels, and it's likely nicer. If we find a way to return to the area we will do so hoping Carol's place is available for us.

Perfect in every way.
We have just completed a month-long stay in this wonderful cottage within walking distance of downtown Sebastopol. We knew from our interactions with the owner ahead of time that we would like it -- but we never imagined we would like it as much as we did. Truthfully, we didn't want to leave.
The owner, who lives at the front of the property but who was all but invisible unless we needed her for something, is one of the nicest, kindest people we've ever met. (Plus, she's fun!) Best of all, she has an eye for detail which becomes obvious the minute you enter the property. Everything we needed was right there and there is no question that if we'd needed anything else, the owner would have provided it immediately!
The bed, I should mention, is more comfortable than our bed at home -- so much so that we copied the information off the mattress so we can replace ours with one just like it!
Sebastopol is a quaint little town with surprising amenities -- including at least a half-dozen superb restaurants. Whole Foods is within walking distance, along with Safeway, RiteAid, and a terrific bookstore. We walked to the movie theatre once a week and of course did the requisite wine tours all over the valley.
In addition to the wine tours we took a few day trips while we were there: to the Russian River, Bodega Bay, and Sea Ranch. Napa, Sonoma and Petuluma are all worth checking out and Healdsburg was our favorite -- just 20+ minutes away.
For those who want an even larger town, Santa Rosa is less than ten minutes away and boasts a full shopping mall (Macy's, et al.) We also went to the Charles Shultz Museum -- the birthplace of Charley Brown, Peanuts, etc. Fun!
We found a nice private gym close by (don't ask me why) -- and it was reasonably priced for a month-long membership. The City Library and public pool are only a few blocks away.
Seven paragraphs ago I said we didn't want to leave -- and just typing this review, and remembering our wonderful time at this property, makes us miss it terribly. As we warned the owner as we left, "we'll be back!"

Charming!
This is the third time I have rented this cottage and it is as charming as it was three years ago. It has everything you need for a comfortable stay and a relaxing weekend. The property is quiet and within walking distance to nice restaurants and Main St. the bed is super comfortable too! Very nice details...the porch is great! I'll be coming here again for sure. Thank you again, Carol!

Lovely cottage in a quiet spot near downtown Sebastopol
We loved our stay in downtown Sebastopol! Carol's cottage is sunny, recently renovated, and ideal for two people, within blocks of restaurants, shopping, farmers market, and the famous Barlow district, which is packed with boulangeries and gourmet chocolate stores and has a ton of little bistros and restaurants. The location is on a very quiet cul-de-sac, in a neighborhood with stunning gardens, quirky sculptures, and friendly neighbors. I bike for exercise and this is a super spot to base rides (head West towards Oakville, east on Guernesville/Piner, or up into the hills on the other side of Bodega road. But one caution: the roads are full of potholes!). There are hundreds of wineries (some famous and some that will be someday but haven't yet been discovered), organic fruit markets, you name it. The broader area has rolling hills with vineyards, redwood forests, and the ocean is within biking distance. For those seeking the best California produce, breads, etc, you'll find them within a short drive. And finally, the cottage was clean, comfortable and true to pictures. Carol is a wonderful host, very helpful, and very welcoming.

Perfection
This was our second stay at Carol's cottage. It is the most charming and comfortable rental we have stayed in. The Sebastopol location is a perfect starting place for so many Sonoma county adventures. Within an hour are San Francisco, Point Reyes National Seashore, Bodega Bay where you can find the best clam chowder at the Spud point Crab Company, Jenner at the mouth of the Russian River, Calistoga and the Peteified Forest, Lake Sonoma and numerous wineries. The porch at the cottage is a comfortable spot for reading and relaxing. We hope to return. Thanks to Carol for being a wonderful hostess. Always available and helpful.

Wow, I would have moved in if I could! This is such a sweet, clean and quiet little place. Carol is great and communicative while also giving you your space -- was very responsive to texts but respected our privacy too. We were up there for a wedding over Memorial Day weekend, and it was a perfect distance from the venue (Vine Hill House). Clean, orderly, has the basic essentials, and is close to HopMonk and Ninja Star Coffee Bar, two new finds that we really enjoyed. The place has everything you need to spend more time there, with a beautiful sunny patio, games, kitchen, large bathroom and open living room -- we weren't there all that often due to wedding festivities, but I loved being able to return there in the evening. I kept telling my fiance that we should move in, but I guess we'll just have to find a place of our own :)

We had a perfect stay at Carol's cottage in Sebastopol. Her hospitality is unmatched! She was very communicative during the pre-trip booking, our arrival, and our stay. She truly went above and beyond for making us feel right at home. The cottage itself was great for our weekend getaway - especially with two little kids. The space was excellent and extremely clean, and the amenities were top-notch. Carol did a fantastic job of creating a modern space with all the amenities, but still felt like home. The location couldn't have been better - walking distance to downtown, and in a very quiet residential neighborhood. The whole experience couldn't have been any easier or better for us. We would HIGHLY recommend this location - for the service, quality, and price - to all of our family and friends. Thank you, Carol, for making this such a pleasurable weekend excursion for us!

My wife, daughter, and I stayed at Carol's retreat and appreciated her attention to details. Bedroom and bed were wonderful, living room had plenty of space, kitchen had everything we needed, and the bathroom had just been remodeled....we loved the shower, the decor, and space. The deck was also a huge hit. We spent mornings there enjoying our coffee and the beautiful sunrise. Overall, we thoroughly enjoyed the cottage feel. Within walking distance is a whole foods for great produce, deli, and supplies. We chose the location based on easy access to both the coast and the wineries nearby as well as the Napa Valley. Sonoma, Petaluma, Jenner By The Sea, Lock & Key winery, and the Armstrong Forest were our favorite sites for hidden gems. The hot spots didn't disappoint either. The entire region was breathtaking.
