The owners are so detailed, wonderful instructions for using the property, even little note tags on all the light switches. The home is an older outbanks beach home, but the owners have updated the property so it feels new. OBX properties fight with humidity so it occasionally smelled musty but nothing like we have dealt with in other homes of the same age. The location is perfect for the beach and local restaurants. We traveled with our elderly father and he was quite able to walk to the beach with no problems, it's just a quick walk. Twice weekly pool cleaning made our pool experience perfect. The house is clean, new appliances, fully stocked (gadgets and cookware) large kitchen. This place would be a perfect location for a family Thanksgiving getaway. We would definitely stay here again.

The house was great and super close to the beach! The house is super roomy and well stocked. Our doggies loved it too, especially the cozy front porch in the AMs after their walk. The pool is a good size but still too cold since its not heated (it did state that in amenities so we knew) and fenced in yard was ideal for our fur babies.

Great beach house, with ample room for our group of 7 adults. Pictures as described and what a location!! The hot tub and pool were great. The walk to the beach was very safe and close by, great neighborhood.
I do wish that it was described on the vrbo details (not on the 12 page contract that was sent over after I submitted on vrbo) that there would no cleaning products, no paper products, no linens what so ever, hand soap, kitchen linens, or dishwasher detergent.
The house could use some work, floor boards in bathroom would pop off, the tile by the stairs is broken and very sharp (be careful), and a splinter on a bedroom door was taped down with clear tape.
It would be nice to have had a front porch light for when we came home late at night and enough pool chairs in the back for the amount of ppl staying at the house.
Overall, great experience, but we paid a lot.

Overall, a great property and close to the beach. We were a family of 3 and a dog and it was perfect for all of us, plenty of room. We loved the fenced yard for our dog, the pool, and the hottub. It was only a 2 minute walk to the beach. It's a beach rental so always some areas that need a little TLC, but nothing that would stop us from renting again. Great communication with the owners, very responsive.

House was nicely kept, 2 min walk to beach, nice neighborhood, pool was a plus! House was close to restaurants and stores but on a quiet street. House had all the amenities for a family to live, cook, relax. TVs in every room, good wifi. We would stay again.

The only downfall was that the hot tub broke on Wednesday. It was one of the reasons that i booked this beach house, so that was disappointing.

Great location and amenities!
Our family of 4 adults, 4 children ages 2 to 13 years, and dog thoroughly enjoyed our week at this vacation home! The walk to the beach access took about 3 minutes and the neighborhood was quiet with little traffic. The pool, hot tub, and back yard make this property special and we appreciated that the pool was serviced while we were there. The property owners were easy to communicate with and helpful. The only thing to be aware of and this is anywhere in OBX is not to walk barefoot and to watch furry friends due to cactus and burs. Obviously this is nothing the owners could change.. We would visit this property again!

Great Stay Over Memorial Day Weekend
Definitely recommend this beach house. 3 minute walk to beach. Very accommodating and the owners were very reachable and helpful with our stay.
Pool/Hot Tub were nice and private back yard.
Only issue (and it was minor) was that you need to rent all beach items. I get that though, the owners do not have to provide that stuff and/or I am sure they did at some point and it was destroyed or stolen. It just would have been nice.
Overall, fantastic place and was in great condition.

Perfect last minute getaway
We decided to take a long weekend at OBX and booked this less than 2 weeks before leaving. The location was perfect - a VERY short walk to the beach and close to lots of good restaurants. The house was more than enough for the 3 of us (me, my husband and youngest son) and we are hoping that next year my youngest son's girlfriend and my oldest son and his girlfriend will be able to join us since it will be perfect for the 3 couples (3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms). The hosts were quick to reply when we had a few questions while on site. Will definitely stay here again!

Total Relaxation
We had a wonderful week with beautiful weather! The pool and hot tub were enjoyed day and night. Very clean, plenty of room and kitchen was well stocked making cooking very easy. Owner was very responsive when needed. Would definitely stay here again should we return to Kitty Hawk.

The house was perfect for myself and 6 other adults plus our pup. Only drawback was there wasn’t a safe way to walk around the neighborhood ie- sidewalk/crossings.

Fantastic family oriented home for families with children and especially those with pets.
My family wanted to get away and have a vacation during this Covid time. We decided that going to a summer vacation spot in the off season would be the way to go. We had a Wonderfull experience at this house. It is clean, has a hot tub and pool. It is pet friendly and the layout of the house gives you different rooms to hang out, even when the kids want some alone time. We had a fantastic experience and plan on going back.

Our Mini-Moon
My husband and I were supposed to get married this past May and honeymoon in the Caribbean. Covid changed our plans drastically and we decided to have a smaller wedding and honeymoon in state in the Outer Banks. (my first time visiting) We were able to bring our dog and everything turned out absolutely perfect. The weather was perfect, the house was spacious and great location. We loved shopping for fresh fish and cooking dinners in the well equipped kitchen. I look forward to visiting again. Despite all of the throwbacks of 2020, our special trip was amazing and very memorable.

Overall review
Had a great experience. First time booking through VRBO and will continue to do so in the future. House was nice. Just a couple of things we thought we would bring up for improvement.
One being the grill situation. The outdoor charcoal grill is in terrible shape. For the money, you would expect something a little more functional and up to date like a gas grill. I actually went out and bought a grill so we could cook for the week.
Another thing is the shape and safety of the deck and fence. There is a lot of rotting and the railings on the deck are not very sturdy.
Overall we had a great time. The house was clean and was a just the right size for our family.

Great pool!
I booked this house specifically for the location and private pool. We loved the pool and used it morning, noon and night. The beach access was easy and enjoyed the sunrise daily.
We have never been to the area and so happy we had the pool because the tide at the beach was rough.... no way we could have played in the ocean. The beach was super nice but also very hot. The pool was the perfect escape.
The house was nice. We had 5 adults and plenty of space. We brought our own bed linens and towels so we didn’t have to rent. There were plenty of dishes to use, but be prepared to bring or buy anything else you need if you plan on cooking.
The pool was amazing, but I have to say that it was awkward a bit with neighboring houses. Most other houses had decks that overlooked the pool. At times I felt like I was being watched. There were many annoying renters in neighboring houses so it was not 100% comfortable. Loud music all around was annoying. I was not expecting the backyards of all the other houses to be so on top of each other. However, it was mostly a problem on the weekends and the week days were quiet.
I would stay here again for sure.

Perfect Location
This house was the right fit for my family - although we should have brought friends because it sleeps way more than the 4 of us needed!
The house is no frills, but is in a perfect location, one block back from the beach (about a 3min walk). The major plus is the pool and hot tub which were serviced mid-week, and of course the fenced in yard which was perfect for our dog!
The home is dated, and the basement game/tv room is an un-airconditioned, musty space with concrete floor, which went untouched because of the dampness and odor. The overall cleanliness was subpar, the HW floors sandy and our dog found multiple "leftovers" including bathing suits, socks, and ear plugs under the dusty beds. The bathrooms and countertops seemed "wiped clean." It all was not a huge deal, as I had brought my own cleaning supplies and bleached everything down myself, but it would have been nice if the cleaning crew did a better job.
The size and space is great, but could use a good deep cleaning overhaul. The location is perfect, multitude of restaurants and things to do within a very short drive. The beach was private, no life guards, and really the quick walk from the house was perfect. We had an amazing week at the beach, thank you!

Great location
This property is in a wonderful location. Easy access to the beach! The main floor is great, very clean, and the pool area is a must have for our family. The game room was not usable due to the musty smell which triggered several family members asthma. Overall it was a great place to stay for our first trip to OBX.

Kitty Hawk vacation June 2020
The location and overall property was excellent. And the pool really made our stay that much better! We wish the home was cleaned more thoroughly (dirty bath mats, dog hair and dirt from previous guests all over the house) and the basement had a musty odor otherwise we enjoyed our stay!!
