About this house rental
This is a beautiful mountain home in the High Sierras, nestled at approximately six-thousand feet. Our home is located within the Tahoe Donner Association. We offer unparalleled guest amenities year round. When looking for a vacation home, we knew this was the one from the moment we stepped inside the front door!
We have a comfortable, fully-equipped kitchen that is perfect for entertaining. The living room and dining area have twenty foot high vaulted ceilings, with views looking out upon stately pines. The living room is complemented by a wood burning stove (wood provided) and a large hearth, with a back drop of river rock climbing the wall. The living room is equipped with flat screen TV, wifi, a VCR, and a stereo with a cassette and CD player. New carpeting, new living room furniture and newly remodeled bathrooms.
Our home has three bedrooms; a master bedroom on the first floor, with a flat screen TV, wifi, opens onto the back deck and woods beyond with a queen-size bed. A second bedroom upstairs is light and airy, with a queen-size bed, cathedral ceiling and view of the pines, bluejays and squirrels.
Our third bedroom is great for extra guests or kids. It is furnished with two sets of bunk-beds (sleeps four), with a flat screen TV, wifi, and has cathedral ceilings. All rooms have generous closet space. In addition, there is a large "cubby hole" on your way to the second floor where kids love to play. There are full bathrooms on the first and second floors. In addition, the living room has a queen-size hide-a-bed that sleeps two.
The generous back deck includes a picnic table, and a gas grill during the summer and fall, and looks out onto a serene forest. The front deck circles the house, and is just made for basking in the sun, or sharing a bottle of wine and good conversation, while watching the sun go down. Also included with your guest amenity pass, is access to our private beach club and marina on beautiful Donner Lake. You will not be disappointed in this mountain vacation home!

This is our second time renting this home. Always very nice. Neighbor is really nice. Quiet location. Short distance to downtown. Won’t disappoint you. 👍

All that Truckee and Tahoe has to offer is close, yet the location of the house is very serene so you can easily escape all the tourists if you want to, or easily join in the fun if you want to! Clubhouse privileges at Donner (particularly the pools) are a huge plus!
4.0
As described! Convenient location in Tahoe Donner not too far into the neighborhood. Rooms were good sized. Nice natural light. Large deck on front and back. Very casual furnishings, linen, etc. We enjoyed our time. Thank you!

The cabin is very nice. We had my husband, myself, 2 teens and 2 grandparents. Everyone was able to relax and enjoy the cabin. We ate outside on the lovely deck. Great location we were able to visit. Truckee river, Reno for gambling and Tahoe lake for a full day of fun there. There is a convenient Safeway close to stock up.
The house has a stocked kitchen. The stove is verrry outdated and hard for me to use.
Thanks again for a fun time.

Very comfortable cabin with more than enough room for three of us. Lots of privacy from the neighbors as well as each other. Quiet neighborhood. Would stay here again and next time bring the family.

My family stayed here for a week and we were so happy with everything! The house is super cozy and comfortable. There was plenty of space for our family of 5 plus 2 dogs. Everything was clean and there were tons of extra blankets and towels. The kitchen was awesome and provided us with everything we needed to cook meals. The outdoor area was beautiful, lots of trees, very quiet and we went on a few peaceful nighttime walks down the street where we had views of the beautiful nights sky.

Perfect stay! Host is very communicative. Location is great for skiing at Northstar Resort. Would recommend!

My husband and I have rented several properties for our vacations. This property by far is one of the best.
Extremely clean, everything works, lots of room to store your things. As long as Cathy will have us this is our go to property in Tahoe.

This property fit all our family's needs. Loved the wrap around decks. We enjoyed playing Cribbage and Scrabble. We were able to eat all our meals in, and the kitchen was well-supplied with spices and such. The property is close to many dog-friendly hikes. Overall, a great fall getaway!!

Great location and value for our family trip to Donner and Tahoe. Quick drive to Truckee and other Donner Tahoe amenities. House was clean and as described. Fast and easy communication before the trip with all of my planning questions.

Wonderful homey cabin for the family. Plenty of room and beautiful area. Hiked to Donner Tunnels recommended. Day camping at State Park for $10 per car. Get there early, before 9.Thanks for all the extras provided. Just great!!!

We had an easy time and the house had everything we needed for a wonderful summer week in Tahoe. House stayed cool during a heat wave despite no AC.
5.0
The Donner neighborhood is nice and quiet but is minutes away from all the lake activities and mountain biking activities and hiking and eating opportunities you could possibly want! A great bonus is clubhouse privileges where you have access to pools and exercises classes. House is nice and big and airy with lots of windows. My favorite is the real wood burning stove!

We stayed for a quick weekend get away and wish we could stay for a week!! It was very relaxing and can’t wait to be back!!

This house was warm and comfortable. Appliances were really outdated but everything else was good. We enjoyed our stay at the house despite the snow storm.

This cabin was the perfect stay for us and our friends. Photos don’t do it justice! Very cozy home with plenty of room for 6 people (could easily fit a few more people comfortably). Cathy was very responsive. We loved the wood burning fireplace and lots of wood was provided. About 20 minutes from Northstar and lots of areas to snowshoe. Located in a nice, quiet neighborhood. Would definitely recommend for anyone looking for a great place to getaway to the snow!

Great cabin in the Truckee Donner area. All was as advertised. The little "cubby" area was great for child play. Access to the Truckee Donner pool and recreation spaces was fantastic. You also get a big discount on Coyote Moon and Tahoe Donner golf courses.
The owner, Cathy, was very responsive to some questions we had when we first arrived.
We will definitely stay here again.

This property is in a really quiet area, easy to access and away from the traffic of lake Tahoe. The house is large, well furnished and has a great deck out the back. Owners were really helpful.

Great cabin in quiet peaceful neighborhood. Loved that we could bring our dog on vacation.

We had a wonderful family trip in Truckee that included our 10-month old grandson and 11-month old puppy. The house is in a great location that is close to Donner Lake and downtown. The kitchen is well equipped for preparing meals. The deck in the back stayed nice shaded since the weather was very warm during our stay. We found a nice spot at Donner Lake for paddle boarding. We also brought our bikes and rode the Legacy Trail one day. Unfortunately, we did not have enough time to take advantage of the amenities through the Association. Communication with Cathy was easy.

The property owner was great about making herself available to answer questions and got back to me very quickly. The house was spacious and comfortable. The location was awesome and the neighborhood was quiet and tranquil. We were there in summer, and the house is very close to one of the pools that guests can access. We had a great time!

The property was perfect for us- great to store our mountan bikes in the garage and have easy access to trails. The home was nice for our needs with everything we needed in the kitchen. The updated bathrooms were a nice touch.

We loved the real wood burning stove in the living room, the grill on the back deck, the fact that if you wanted to use the kitchen it had every accessory you could ever wish for, and the high ceilings and big windows. The master bed was actually more comfortable than my own bed at home!

Lovely house in quiet neighborhood with a fenced off back deck. First time for a garage which of course we didn’t need in June but what a treat for the winter visits! Would stay again!

I will preface my review with the fact that we arrived after a major storm.....the house was clean and the beds were comfortable. Both bathrooms were updated and really warm! The kitchen was fine and I rediscovered how to not burn food on an electric stove! There was plenty of storage and except for the lack of a kitchen sponge, paper towels, wash cloths and hand soap, it was well stocked. Can't speak to the hot tub, couldn't see a hair of it under the snow....which was a bummer. The wood burning fireplace was fun but made the upstairs smell smoky so we limited it. Would stay again, as they graciously let us bring our dog and the location was great, except for the unbearable internet. It was too slow to load a web page, forget streaming a movie or even smoothly playing a pod cast. Owner claims this is normal if lots of people in the neighborhood are on, but it was just as bad at midnight, which doesn't add up. We were on our cellular from our phones the whole week, which only had one bar and far out performed the wifi. This fact alone would keep us from coming back I am sorry to say, as I have 3 teens and a husband that needs to do a little work, even on vacation. So, a little bit of a mixed bag.

You can tell the house is well loved / had a lot of thought put into it over the years. It is very family friendly. We gave it the highest marks across the board /all 5 stars based on this and the quick communication with the owners. All the positive reviews aren't there for nothing :)
It is worth noting what other reviewers have already said about the Internet and one of the mattresses. Namely that the owners have chosen a 3mbps/0.5mbps Internet plan with the cable provider Suddenlink which is insufficient in the modern era/should definitely be upgraded. ($10/more a month to upgrade to 100mbps) Also other reviewers mentioned an unusually firm mattress, (it was nearly impossible to sleep on the main mattress on the ground floor bedroom for my wife or I so we slept on the couch instead).

The house is in a great location, everything was in great working condition and we had all we needed in the kitchen to prepare meals. The kids loved the strange cubby in the hallway. The pictures were not great and we expected it to be older and more worn, but we were pleasantly surprised!
5.0
Wonderful property with a lot of light and space for people to spread out. Loved the soft blankets spread around, which the kids used first thing in the morning. The wood stove centered the space and kept everything toasty. (Furnace worked fine as well, but what is the fun in that?) There was plenty of wood stacked and ready to go. One tip, if using the wood stove, be sure to turn on the ceiling fan to evenly heat the upstairs. Pet friendly. Owners were very nice and responsive.

Always love staying in this home!
Cathy Is wonderful and very easy to communicate with.
We’ll be back again—soon.

We have stayed here before and that is why we returned. Nice neighborhood. The location is perfect between the 2 swimming pools and near the deli/market. The house has plenty of room to eat, sleep and relax and everything you would need for your stay. Great for families. When we had questions, they were answered quickly. Looking forward to going back.

Overall the cabin was nice. Easy access, and very comfortable to stay. However, the place was only 50% clean due to a temp cleaning crew the owner had to use. This is why I rated this place 3 stars. We had to put the cabin together when we checked in at 5pm so that was a little hectic and disappointing after traveling all day. She did refund the cleaning fee for us so that was appreciated.
2.5
Great cabin. Plenty roomy and comfortable. Well stocked. Good price. No AC is fine at night but gets warm during the day when temps are 90+. Would stay again.
