Amazing experience

The hotel itself is quite new, and it shows in its modern design and clean, well-maintained facilities. The staff is young, energetic, and incredibly attentive, always going above and beyond to ensure that every need is met. The rooms are spacious, with comfortable beds that guarantee a restful night's sleep. One of the highlights of the stay was the restaurant, which offers a great variety of delicious food options. What truly sets this place apart is the breathtaking view of the misty mountains—an unforgettable sight that added a magical touch to the whole experience. I highly recommend this hotel for anyone seeking comfort, excellent service, and stunning views.

The hotel is located just outside of Nuwara Eliya town and, getting there involves driving along narrow, winding roads with several bends. While the journey may require careful navigation, it's well worth it for the serene location and breathtaking views that await upon arrival.

Lovely property and staff, good for a stop over of one night.

Clean, good rooms, lovely staff.

The location is remote, so there is nothing to do. Furthermore the look is a bit clinical, could use some nice decoration to give it soul.

Good experience but its not a 4 star in Europe

Very clean and looking like new toilet seat and washbasin, wide beds, views

The hotel needs to get rid of the pineapple juice!!! And the tiny portion of chocolate mousse. Use some time to clean the tiles properly(its not hard or time consuming)

Het hotel voldoet aan de eisen voor deze classificatie. Het ontbijt is goed. Het personeel enorm aardig. Er is een zwembad maar daar was het te koud voor.

Het bed is enorm groot. Niet echt nodig. Het ligt toch wel ruim 20 minuten rijden van Nuwara Eliya. In verhouding was het best prijzig.

WOW ! So far it was the best stay in Sri Lanka! The room has the biggest bed I've ever seen! Room very clean and spacious. Very good water pressure in the shower:) Beautiful view and cool swimig pool. The staff just amazing! Very high standard (I didn't meet in Sri Lanka yet) Profesional and clean SPA - I highly recommend (40usd/1h) Best breakfast (including nice buns and waffles) and proper coffe! There is sauna and nice playing room with a stoning view. Close to Damro tea factory. Really 10/10 !

I'm very picky person and demanding in terms of choosing place for stay out of home. I can't point single thing that I didn't like. Absolutely love it!!

Ein kleiner Urlaub in unserem Urlaub. Sehr angenehmer Aufenthalt

Schönes, sauberes Zimmer auf kleiner gemütlicher und gepflegter Anlage mit nur 6 Zimmern. Ich habe noch nie in einem so riesigen Bett geschlafen (ca 2,40m). Tolles Badezimmer mit europäischem Standard. Der Ausblick von der Anlage ist wirklich sehr schön. Beim Frühstück gibt es eine große Auswahl an herzhaften und süßen Speisen. Das Abendessen hat uns gut geschmeckt, die Cocktails finden wir woanders besser. Der Service war professionell, höflich und zuvorkommend. Den Gästen wurde jeder Wunsch erfüllt. Wir würden wieder kommen.

The beds are extremely short and my feet were overhanging the mattress. (1,87cm) Only 4 sun beds around the pool area.

מלון עם שרות והבנה מושלמת איך לשרת נופשים

קבלת הפנים הייתה מאוד חמימה וזריזה. החדר היה גדול, מואר ומושלם, עם הרבה מקום איחסון ואפילו ארון להכניס מזוודות שלא יעמדו בחדר בבלאגן. פינת קפה גדולה. מיטה סופר נוחה. וגם האמבטיה ממש נעימה. הנוף מהחדר מושלם לבריכה ולשדות. ארוחת בוקר מאוד יפה לפי בחירה. אנחנו אכלנו רק פירות והגישו לנו בצורה יוצאת דופן צלחת מעוצבת בפירות. כשעזבנו פקידת הקבלה נתנה לנו בקבוק מים קרים לדרך, זו מחווה קטנה עם עוצמה של חשיבה מחוץ לקופסה. מאוד אהבתי אתי את זה

הבריכה הייתה קרה והיה קריר בחוץ אז היה אי אפשר להינות ממנה. הייתי שמחה להינות בבריכה מול הנוף.

Emplacement parfait pour profiter des magnifiques paysages et des plantations de thé .

Emplacement parfait si vous voulez profiter des plantations de thé et de la visite d’une fabrique qui est toute proche. La vue est tres belle depuis les chambres et l’ensemble de l’hôtel . Le personnel est tres professionnel . On aurez aimé rester une nuit de plus !

Super hotel pour une étape

Le cadre est top, l’espace jeu est agréable, le sauna qui donne dehors est atypique, le restaurant est bon et la chambre spacieuse.

La piscine est belle, mais je pense qu’il y a très peu de moment dans l’année où il fait assez chaud dans cette région pour en profiter.

Wonderful boutique hotel with a view of the mountains, amazing service from the stuff, perfect breakfast, great infinity pool, the rooms are beautiful, we really enjoyed our time there and will be happy to return!

Superb! Wish we could stay longer

Loved everything about our stay. Room was very spacious with the most amazing views over the tea plantations. Staff were very helpful and created a good ambience. The small attention to detail made this property a lovely place to stay, even the ambient music was perfect during dinner! Food was very good. The added bonus of a pool table, again with stunning views gave us something to enjoy in the evening.

There was nothing to dislike about this property. Pool was a bit cold, but the use of the sauna was welcome

Had a nice stay in Nuwara Eliya

We had a lovely stay at Hilldale retreat. Our room was spacious and comfy, the bed is really large, breakfast is delicious and the views from here are just perfect. Everyone is super friendly, there is a pool and sauna available.

Dinner could have been better. And overall value for money, could be bit cheaper for Sri Lankan standarts.

Perfection in every way!

Every single thing was perfect! From the time we checked in till we checked out our holiday was like in a dream! We had a chat with the owner and he seemed to have all the knowledge and love to keep this place going! The staff were very attentive and went out of their way to please everyone! They even went the extra mile to extend the closing time of the playroom and when we were leaving they gave us bottles of water, never had a better experience than in this hotel! The scenery was amazing and we had the best holiday there!

Nothing as this is the most beautiful place you could stay at!

Tolle Lage, wenige Zimmer, persönlicher Service.

Hotellage mit Aussicht auf tolle Gemüsefelder, Tee- und Kautschukplantagen. Das Hotel liegt auf knapp 2000 Meter über Meer, bei gutem Wetter kann man bis Kandy sehen. Das Hotelteam macht einen super Job und ist sehr engagiert. Es gibt eine Pool, eine Sauna und ein eigenes Restaurant. Das Hotel hat keine 10 Zimmer und ist damit sehr übersichtlich und der Service damit entsprechend persönlich. Wir würden jederzeit wieder da übernachten. Perfekt als Ausgangspunkt nach Kandy oder Nuwara Elia, je nach Reiserichtung.

Stunning hotel!

The staff at the hotel were super helpful but also gave us privacy. We used the sauna for sunset and it was absolutely stunning and very clean. Sasika and Oshada set breakfast out for us outside so we could enjoy the views. It was the best breakfast we have had so far on our holiday. We would also recommend having dinner at the hotel, it was delicious. The games room is also great.

Nothing - we had the best time at the hotel and made the most of their stunning grounds and facilities.

Aside from the smell in the room, the property was good!

The view, the food and the staff. The room is very big, also the bathroom, the bed is nice and comfortable.

The smell in the room was awful! They have carpet on the floor which I guess due to the high humidity of the area absorbs the water and smells like pee! Honestly, I barely could sleep due to the smell and when I was waking up the smell was killing me. We consumed half of a perfume to be able to stay in that room :(

Exceptional property with excellent staff.

This place is exceptional. Fantastic location. Beautiful scenery. Rooms very spacious. Most importantly the food quality is great. Excellent and well trained staff. They ensured that for us being vegetarian, we have different menu for breakfast on the 4 days we spent in this hotel. In fact Chef also tried a dish we recommended, which was cooked very well and to our liking.

Best hotel with European standards

We arrived after a 5 day itinerary and this hotel was the best so far with an excellent service, superb comfort and a great view from the rooms. We arrived with rain and the sauna was immediately heated up for us. This is a hotel that compares to European standard.

Sauberes Hotel mit extrem freundlichen Mitarbeitern

Die Anlage liegt in einer tollen Landschaft und ist extrem sauber und gepflegt. Die Zimmer sind zudem groß und komfortabel. Alle Hotelangestellten sind extrem bemüht und außerordentlich freundlich.

Im Vergleich mit anderen Hotels etwas zu teuer und insgesamt eher einem soliden 3 Sterne Hotel entsprechend als, wie vom Hotel angestrebt, einem luxuriösen Resort.

Simply incredible

Excellent views, very clean, spacious, well heated rooms. The most polite, attentive staff. Delicious food for all meals, and very very helpful staff. They stayed up late to receive us, guided us with tuktuks and organized everything with a smile on their face.

Stunning views and nice service!

The view is spectacular and the rooms are great! Loved the sauna! Also fun with the game room, which we enjoyed a lot. A little out of Nuwara Elyia town but you really visit for the views, which is what you get here!

We wished the pool could have been heated up. Also we had hoped for a more local menu like curry in the restaurant. But otherwise all lovely!

Es war ein sehr schöner Aufenthalt

Das Hilldale Reatreat empfängt seine Gäste sehr herzlich und freundlich. Sasika hat uns jeden Wunsch erfüllt, war sehr hilfsbereit und zuvorkommend. Das Zimmer war groß und sehr schön und sauber, genau wie auf den Fotos des Hotels. Das Bad war ebenfalls sauber und sehr schön. Von dem Balkon aus konnte man schön über den Pool und in die Ferne sehen. Das Frühstück war sehr umfangreich und Lecker. Es gab Obst, Gebäck, Jogurt, Waffeln, Toast, Bacon, Wurst, Marmelade, etc. und zusätzlich konnte man aus verschieden zubereiteten Eiern (Omlett, Rührei, Käseomlett, Spiegelei, etc.) entscheiden. Am Abend haben wir ebenfalls im Restaurant gegessen, es war sehr lecker aber die Portionen hätten etwas größer sein können. Das Hotel ist mit einem Pool, einem Billardtisch und Kicker, sowie einer Sauna ausgestattet. Man konnte alles kostenlos nutzen, außer die Sauna, diese war nur für 30 Minuten kostenlos (das hat uns ausgereicht). Zusammenfassend: das Personal war so herzlich, die Ausstattung war seinen Preis wert, das Essen war lecker und die Lage und der Pool waren fantastisch. Wir würden jederzeit wieder kommen!

Die Unterkunft ist leider sehr hellhörig. Man hat genau mitbekommen, wann jemand durch das Treppenhaus läuft. Ansonsten gibt es nichts negatives!

Manager acknowledged service and food not of acceptable standard 1st AM and made full refund in US dollars - unfortunately notes too damaged to be then accepted for exchange by local banks. Will convert on return UK but now US$ 250 short mid stay in country

Przestronny pokój i łazienka.

Zapach w pokoju- duszny, wilgotny. Sufit noszący ślady zalania, być może stąd zapach. Łazienka czysta, ale nosząca ślady grzyba pod prysznicem. Woda w basenie mętna, podczas pobytu obsługa coś dolewała w dużej ilości- nie korzystaliśmy. Jedzenie dobre, standardowe. Całość absolutnie nie była warta ceny 130$ za noc za 2 osoby
