Great Harlem Home!
I was in NY for a 5-week graduate school program, and feel fortunate to have this wonderful place to make my temporary home for the summer. The studio is unusually spacious and comfortable, and easily accessible to Harlem attractions and other parts of the city. The hosts are thoughtful and helpful; overall a great experience. I’d definitely stay here again next time I’m in New York!

Excellent property in New York City
This rental was superb. Jennifer thought of everything you might need, and it's in the apartment for you. There's a drawer filled with maps and NYC reference materials. Explicit instructions were left regarding local shops and restaurants. It's a 10 minute walk to the 2/3 trains, running down the west side, and a 15 minute walk to the 4/5/6 trains running down the east side. You have complete privacy in your unit, and we felt like we were coming home every evening. It was very quiet most of the time, which was surprisingly to us. You have your own ac/heating unit, so you can control the temperature. You do hear some footsteps from above, but wasn't an issue. The kitchen was well appointed, no dishwasher but everything else you could think of was there. There are even umbrellas for rainy days, and the washer/dryer combo in the unit was a great convenience. We felt completely safe and loved exploring Harlem and the rest of the city. Download a transit app (we used My Transit NYC) so you can easily see how to get where you want to go, and purchase an unlimited metrocard for the length of your stay. Uber was also quick and easy. We couldn't have been happier with this property and highly recommend it.

Great place in Harlem
We felt very welcomed to this lovely apartment. Easy walk from the 125th Street train station. Everything was as advertised. Enough space for my kids and I. A hotel room for 4 days would have been too small so this was a great option. I appreciated that they provided lots of info about how the TV and appliances worked and also about the neighbourhood. Thanks.

A home away from home
This holiday rental is truly a home. Myself and my partner stayed for five nights and it was such a relaxing, quiet and comfortable place to come back to after exploring NYC every day. Their street and property front is beautiful; authentic NYC. And the home itself is spacious and decked with everything you could need for staying away from home. We were able to do a load of washing (after already being overseas for a week), sleep in a super comfy bed and enjoy Netflix in our down time. We didn’t take advantage of the kitchen but could tell everything we needed was there to be enjoyed.
Lastly, the hosts are super welcoming but do not make their presence known which was really appreciated.

Incredible Place
This was one of the greatest places we have stayed at. Amazing location if you love the Harlem experience which we do. Very quiet neighborhood, close to all subway trains, walking distance to some of the best food in NY. Jennifer was an outstanding host, great conversation and very down to earth. Plenty of space for 2.
We highly recommend it and would definitely stay there again.

Pretty, well-stocked, studio apartment on quiet street in Harlem
Our family of three really enjoyed our stay at Ken and Jennifer's garden apartment on E. 129th. It's beautifully decorated and has everything one needs—comfortable beds (including the sleeper sofa), good drawer and closet space, good lighting, good climate control, a dining table for 4, and a well-equipped kitchen and bathroom. A lot of small touches make it even more special: travel books and brochures on NYC, wonderful coffee table books on Harlem and its history, very nice art, condiments & coffee in cabinets and fridge, and a welcome gift of a bottle of wine. Ken and Jennifer were away during our trip, but stayed in touch to be sure that we had all we need. Also it's an easy walk to 125th St subway and Whole Foods, with good restaurants along the way.

An authentic NYC experience!
The 4 of us stayed together in this cozy apartment (2 parents and 2 young adolescent boys). The apartment itself was very well equipped with conveniences to make our stay easy while away from home. We were conveniently located close to the subway in Harlem, and getting around the city was very easy from this location. This apartment in Harlem offered an authentic experience of living in NYC!

The apartment was great!
The apartment was very clean. The lower level of a beautifully lined street of Brownstones. It was very well supplied with necessities, shampoo, laundry detergent, body wash, Dunkin’ Donuts coffee, teas sugar, etc. the bed was very comfy, the air conditioner was great. Needed it a few times. Everything was updated from kitchen to bath. Walked six blocks to the right to catch subway at rush hour and midnight hrs, lots of people hanging out late at night, but no problems, everyone kept to themselves. Lots of trash everywhere, but the same in every area in New York, we think one reason might be, because there are not enough trash cans around. This rental was great! We enjoyed New York soo much. And we did it all, very easy to get around when you download the transit app. And if I ever visit again and this rental is available, I would stay here again.

Cute, Clean, and Overall Perfect
My husband, girlfriend, and I stayed at Jen and Ken's Harlem garden apartment over Labor Day weekend. We were in town for a music festival nearby as well as some sight seeing. The place was PERFECT for the three of us. Not too small, everything we needed was provided, and I never felt unsafe. The apartment is located on a quiet street in the heart of Harlem. So many cute coffee shops, restaurants, and bars nearby. You can walk to Whole Foods for groceries or hit up any of the produce stands that are ever so popular in New York. Communication was great with the hosts and we didn't at all feel weird about them living on the floor above us. My husband and I met Jen and their ADORABLE pups. My mom and I are looking to come out to New York next year and without a doubt I will look to see if this place is available then as well. I loved everything about it! Thank you for hosting us!!

Exactly as advertised!
Jennifer and Ken are awesome! It was stress-free due to not having to worry about anything while staying here. They have great communication (very prompt), answered questions while we were there (regarding transportation), and checked in (via text) with us halfway through our stay to make sure we didn't need anything. The place is exactly as it is in the pictures (clean, taken care of, up to date), and the information is precise (both on HomeAway and within the apartment). Subway stations are very convenient and in close proximity. Close to grocery and convenience stores, restaurants of any kind and some shopping. Even though you are "away from it all" it was very easy to get to all of the attractions we wanted to see without the bright lights and loud street noises potentially keeping you up at night that you might have in other areas. Jennifer and Ken have thought of everything you need or even might need! If I visit NYC again, I will definitely be staying here again, if it isn't already booked! Thanks Jennifer and Ken! We appreciated everything you and the place had to offer! :o)

No details overlooked
This apartment was as complete as any we have seen in our stays with other VRBO properties. All details had been tended to so that nothing was lacking except your own food you may want in the unit. The bed was as comfortable as any we have slept in. The owners are very easy to communicate with and they obviously take ownership of this property for guests to use with pride.
Thank you for having us Jennifer and Ken!
