Wanting to just get away from it all with the most important person in your life? Look no further than this charming studio cottage tucked away on the Northern California Coast! Stunning views, a charming small town to explore, and the company of your special someone - what could be better?
The 50-stair descent to the entrance is well worth the effort. Located right on Bodega Bay, this cozy home for two offers an unparalleled view of rich blue-green waters - and the opposing shores of the Bodega Dunes - right from the private deck. Breathe in the fresh ocean air whenever you like, or head out front to stretch your legs. The town of Bodega Bay offers all the essentials just a few blocks north down the central highway!
Inside, this home consists of two main areas - a living and sleeping area, and a small kitchenette. The kitchenette lacks a stovetop, but the microwave and coffeemaker let you prepare simple meals and reheat delicious leftovers from the nearby restaurants.
After savoring some food at the table for two, you can admire the sun dipping below the horizon on the deck, before closing the blinds and relaxing on the nearby leather sofa.
Take advantage of the internet and flatscreen cable TV to stay entertained, and when you're ready to turn in, wash up in the bathroom, featuring mosaic tile in the shower and gilded trappings, before drifting off to sleep on the luxurious four-poster queen-size bed for two.
After a hot cup of coffee in the morning, get ready for a rich day of exploring the area. Maybe you'll take in the bay's natural beauty? You can grab a table at an oceanfront restaurant like The Tides Wharf and watch the fishing boats bob in the water as you enjoy your meal, or you can experience the ocean up close at the sandy shores of Doran Regional Park.
If you don't mind hopping in the car, you can expand your possibilities even further. Go whale-watching at the stunningly beautiful Bodega Head across the bay, or head east for a little culture. From golfing at The Links at Bodega Harbor to the wares of the Artisan's Co-op in inland Bodega itself, there's no shortage of places to visit when you want a break from the waves.

Beautiful little studio right on the water!

The place was clean, cozy and comfortable. The location was excellent - right on the bay. We had everything we needed for a short stay

It is a wonderful cottage, beautifully equipped, quiet and peaceful!
It's a magical place and so serene, you come back refreshed and relaxed.

The place was perfect for the 2 of us to stay during a wedding weekend. Close to all we needed. Tbe amenities are basic but just what is needed. Great views, comfy bed, nice shower. Locks are a bit tricky and wish there was enough deck space for a chair, but open up the doors and windows and you get a fabulous breeze and sounds of the bay.

Peaceful spot on the bay with beautiful views and perfect accommodations.

Spent 4 days in this little spot right over the water - was a decompression trip from a busy season at work. First - this place isn't fancy - the furniture is old & worn, but not in a bad way - in a comfy grandma's place kind of way. But extremely comfortable and the location is perfect if you are looking for a quiet, private space. Overlooking the harbor, watching the birds, seals and fishing boats was very relaxing. There are a lot of steps down to the cottage, but easy to navigate and the reason you get the views and privacy. There is a new microwave & drip coffeemaker, no stove, but there is a propane grill on the back porch. Again, nothing fancy but it adds to the comfort of the place and it is clean - everything you need.
Wifi is spotty - slow if you can grab it. Cable is limited. Unplug and look out the windows!
There are two local stores that have EVERYTHING you would need - one is within walking distance, the other either a bit further to walk, or short drive. Not many restaurants or shopping - but a few if you look around. The parking spot is right along the highway, but if you approach from the north, easy to get in and out with a medium sized car. The little electric fireplace gave a nice glow and plenty of heat - and the shower is great!
Although you can't use the "beach" below the house - no big loss - it is very small and the tide covers it part of the day - and the balcony puts you right over the water anyway - with a direct view to the west, for nice sunsets.
There are plenty of free beaches/ocean access a short and pretty drive to the north. Also a short drive to Bodega Head for dramatic ocean/cliff views. I loved this little spot and am very likely to return.

This was such a nice place to stay for the weekend. With a porch extending over the water and the beauty of the Northern California coast all around you, it was an incredible place for our getaway.

This small space was a perfect place for me to get a break from all the chaos of life. I was looking for quiet and secluded with a beautiful view which included a body of water. I saw no one while there (except the manager who came to fix the gas fireplace. He came quickly, fixed the issue and left. And was very nice too.)
Easy to park and easy to get out----back on the road.
I had no problem with the internet while there.

This “Bayside Cottage” in Bodega Bay was just wonderful! Amazing view as we sat on the deck and watched the sunset both nights. Very cozy living space and kitchen nook and the bathroom was nicer than ours at home. Highly recommend!

Great for a couple or a single. Nicely furnished. Great view of Bodea Harbor, lots of big windows. Nice shower. Roomy. Located right at the water's edge. John, the Vacasa person who came to get the heater working and plunge the backed up toilet. Was efficient and delightful.

Such a quiet and relaxing vacation

Location of studio apartment is literally a 7' vertically above Bodega Bay. a small secure deck wraps three sides of the apartment. Small fishing vessels traverse the bay in 2 channels delineated by a line of platforms softly lit with red lights, topped by gentle but distinct fog horns. Bed was quite comfortable, large shower with adequate hot water.

Very quiet nice and peaceful

The cottage was small but so cute and comfortable. It was prefect for a short stay and the round of golf was little foggy this trip. The only concern we had was the many steps down to the cottage everything else was very nice

A lovely, relaxing studio!

We loved being right on the water which was very nice but the cottage was hard to access due to the 50+ narrow stairs. It was very clean and the bed was super comfy but there was no privacy cover on the back glass door.

While the place is on the small side, basically one room and a bathroom, it was perfect for us. Right on the water, which was great for wildlife viewing and sunsets. The kitchen doesn't have a stove, but we got by just fine with the microwave and toaster. A nice relaxing stay.

The waterfront is very nice. The unit is very comfortable. It made for a great getaway.

Lovely location but you do not get your bang for your buck here.

Beautiful view of the bay. Very comfortable room. The parking space is quite wide so no worries there.

Love the location! Watching the birds, seals and fishing boats right in front of us.

We were delighted that the reported 50 stairs down (and up) were staggered and not continuous. On arrival the cottage more than fulfilled our expectations.

Located right on the water. Compact, cozy and got the true experience of Bodega Bay. Private & Quiet! Everything we needed & more!!! Thanks 😉

Nice little place. They had all the necessities in a clean studio-like room. We loved the fireplace and sounds of the bay. Would stay here again.

It was the second time staying there. We just loved being so close to the water and watching the sunset

Slice of heaven
Can’t say enough about how restful and refreshing my “retreat” here was. Was treated to a range of blue skies and smooth seas to thick fog and choppy waves. Excellent for birdwatching. The little gas fireplace/stove is powerful and kept us toasty warm. The foghorn takes a little getting used to; I stopped noticing it after a couple of days. There’s a good little store just up the road that has surprisingly good coffee. I’ll definitely come back!

Very clean upon arrival. As described, directly on the water. Beautiful location peaceful and quiet. Could be improved with minimal effort. Dining table needs repair and kitchen needs additional supplies ( right in wine country but no wine glasses),

This tiny studio is right on the water, 50 steps (watch the treacherous 29th step on your way down) off of, and I mean right off of, highway 1 is the perfect place to explore Bodega Bay from. Waking up to misty mornings, with flocks of Buffleheads, Coots, Grebes, and Loons out the west-facing windows will tempt you to spend the whole day there. Don't give in! From the hikes across the harbor on Bodega Head, to the scenic driving up and down the coast, to the wine county a scant 20 minutes east, you couldn't ask for a more perfect base of operations.
Three things to be mindful of: the door to the balcony does take a little finesse, the water heater is on the smaller side (we're in a drought, so you probably shouldn't be taking long showers anyhow), and a couple of the rivets holding down the transition strips like to snag at socks. Otherwise, the little furnace does a yeomans job, the bed is soft and comfortable, and the furnishings are tasteful.

Great view of Bodega Bay Harbor with a terrific view of wildlife. Very nice big windows. Gas fireplace a big plus. Bathroom door needed to be fixed. Nice coffee maker and filters but no coffee provided. Doors are hard to lock, but doable. Overall a very relaxing place.

If you're looking for nightlife this is not your spot. The wifi is a gamble..we had zero connectivity (a huge plus for us!). VERY quiet and the fog horn is charming (but if you're a light sleeper it sounds every 10 seconds...24/7. Ear buds or a sound machine will be in order) A great spot for exploring the beautiful coast,
