About this house rental
Vacationing by the lake is the consummate Door County experience. The waves will lull you to sleep and the ever-changing mood of the lake will become your favorite memory. Kite and sail surfers practice in our bay because of the calm conditions. All types of pleasure and fishing boats arrive and ore ships hug the shore as they pass.
The clean lines of the Empire style interior are accented by our collection of one-of-a-kind antiques from around the world. Each area has an access to the outside by way of a porch or balcony. Each room is cleverly designed to have a lake view.
The queen bedrooms are off the porch and deck on the main floor and upstairs in the whirlpool area. The standard bedrooms are off the garage and upstairs in the Carousel area. 3 bathrooms are attached to bedrooms; one in the upstairs Carousel area is not. A bunk bedroom for children has on full and four single beds.
You are ten minutes away from thick and lively shopping traffic on the bay side. Our lake side is known as the quiet nature sanctuary of unique wild plants and animals. The beauty and calm has drawn the most talented actors and artists to this area since the early 1900's. We have been sharing this house for the last twenty-two years.
Children are delighted to play in the sand at the shallow water's edge, walk to Anclaim Beach Park, ride the wild carousel rabbit, play the unique folk toys, or other games and antique bicycles. The collection of five hundred DVDs can be viewed as the family prepares for bed. Ask for directions to The Farm where even older children like to purchase food for the hungry baby barnyard animals.

The house is large with 4 bathrooms, 2 queen BR over garage, 1 queen downstairs, 1 king and lots of bunk beds and 1 queen upstairs. Really nice porch overseeing the lake. Deck out back and long grassy area that is short fenced in all the way around except for 2 openings next to the house that we blocked off for the dog and child. Unfortunately, no entrance to the lake at all. Aclan? beach 3 houses south, really nice. Bp next door is handy.
Needs some upkeep here and there but all in all very nice place. Super nice couple that owns it. They do their own cleaning, so we tried to pick up after ourselves and tidy a bit before we left. Ice maker broken but they bought a bag of ice and that was fine. Well stocked everything. Internet sketchy and Roku had issues but finally got it to work on the porch. Upstairs was great but that was closest to the modem. Thank you to Mary and Ray.

We had a lovely stay. The sunroom overlooking the lake was our favorite room. We have a big family, so the many bedrooms and bathrooms was great!

Spacious older house with a large backyard overlooking Lake Michigan. Located on the main highway (busy during the day) within walking distance to restaurants/shops/nightspots. Good-sized bedrooms.

Contacted owners ahead of stay to ask about early entry. return email indicated we could get in at 1:00 and a bedroom would be ready for children to take a nape, but that didn't happen. Owners didn't remember. The dryer in the garage broke the day we arrived (6/28). there was another small dryer in bathroom, but its time was defective and had to keep repeat drying. New dryer in garage was installed late afternoon on the July 3. Ice maker on refrigerator stopped working, reported to owner. Never fixed. Owner comment, the next renter would benefit from our reporting.
I had contacted the owner a year in advance to rent there house on Glidden Drive and was told they would reserve, but again when contact their memory didn't hold. When contact it was booked.
Two bedrooms are in the garage without air conditioning...so no one slept there.
Great place to watch the 4th of July parade and the f ireworks in Bailey's Harbor.

House was right on lake as advertised and we could walk to a lot of places. Lots of history to look at in this home and when it rained or got too cool to sit outside under the top deck we enjoyed the 3 season room facing the lake.

Our family ( 3 generations ) stayed for a week. We enjoyed the porches, the backyard, the view, and fire pit.
We had a slight glitch in that the oven was not operational, however the owner made an accommodation for that.
We had a wonderful time and have great memories of our time at Cedar Beach Resort.

We came up for our daughters wedding. We had my 85 year old parents and our adult children. Every one had plenty of space. My parents loved sitting on the huge porch out back watching the water. The view was amazing. Beautiful sunrises. Very relaxing. The proximity to town was perfect. Made life easy to step out for dinner or drinks. The trees that lined the backyard made things very private on both sides. The shady front porch had plenty of seating to relax and people watch. The home is Decor is eclectic and charming with history rich items. I have a fond appreciation for. We had an amazing weekend and couldn’t be happier. We will definitely be back.

• The view from the porch and yard was beautiful.
• The yard was big enough for kids to run around and play games.
• The furniture had issues. Recliners were broken or difficult to operate. Wooden tables and chairs wobbled, creaked and appeared ready to collapse.
• The coffee makers had used grounds in them. We bought vinegar to run through them and it came out completely black in one of them, yuck!
• The whirlpool bath was not cleaned when we arrived. In general, the entire house looked like it could use a good cleaning. There were clothes and stuff in closets and dressers.
• The garage door opener didn’t work.
• There were not very many towels available and we ran out of toilet paper with 2 days left.
• The steps to the lake were unusable. The balcony part had no support and would have been dangerous to use.
• One of the garage bedrooms was so tiny! It was almost entirely filled by the bed. We dubbed it “the dungeon“.
• The owners never responded to phone calls or messages through VRBO. Ray stopped by on his way to a meeting the first day but not because we had reached out. Messages sent after that got no response.
• The fireplace in the living room didn’t work.
• The house will sleep 16 but the only place for 16 people to gather is the yard.
• I’ve read the responses to other reviews so I’m fully expecting a snarky response with excuses and blame shifting.
• I love Baileys Harbor and we will be back, but not to this property or these owners again.

We had a group of 10 women on a girls trip to Door County. Some family and some friends so we wanted a place big enough so we could have our own space if we wanted. This was the perfect house for us! Plenty of beds and bedrooms and bathrooms. The porch facing the lake was amazing and we spent quite a bit of time there. It is in a nice location and could walk to several restaurants and bars. We would definitely stay here again !

Fantastic! Each family had their own space for privacy plus plenty of space to hang out together. Perfect for our parents who are in their 90s. They had first floor bedroom with walk in shower. They LOVED sitting in the four season porch overlooking the water. Couldnt have had a better mini vacation.

Our group consisted of 4 70+ ladies on annual getaway. We loved this house! Everywhere you turn, there is another interesting collectible. Situated right on Lake Michigan, we enjoyed our morning coffee on the porch, cocktails on one of the decks in the evening and a fire in the fire pit on the lawn in the evenings. House is huge with lots of character. It's located right "downtown" Bailey's Harbor and walkable to restaurants, beach, shops, etc. The bathrooms and kitchen were very clean; the rest of the house could use a good deep clean. But we were happy and would return.

Great views, easy beach access, convenient location to store (kids loved that). Enough room for family of 11 to gather for games of old maid, yet separate spaces for alone time. Great screen porch to watch summer storm.

Great location and beautiful lake view. The property is old but that was fine with us. Unfortunately, the house was not cleaned before we arrived, leaving us to do the job, even though a cleaning fee is charged each rental.

The location is great - next to a well stocked gas station with a sandwich shop inside and within walking distance to everything Baileys Harbor has to offer. The house is spacious with ample sleeping space and a gorgeous view of the lake. Owners were accessible. No actual lake access, but a short walk to the public beach. The house could use some updates like new seating. The vintage bikes have the original tires, so they only hold air for a couple blocks. The kitchen is modern and well stocked. For some reason it seems to be a common issue for rentals to not have sheet pans, including this one.

Amazingly perfect!!
The pictures do not do this amazing home justice. It was such an amazing home and was so nice. Everyone was so please with how well the home was stocked and the amazing decorations. We had so much fun exploring the beautiful antiques that are displayed through out the home. It was within walking distance to an amazing place to eat and a great coffee shop. The neighborhood is so peaceful and quiet so we were able to spend so much time out enjoying the lovely decks. We will be staying with them again!!!

Perfect spot for a large group!
We had an amazing time in this beautiful historic house with our group of 11. Plenty of space and the most spectacular lakefront views. Also, within walking distance to a great Brewery and other restaurants. The owners were a pleasure to work with as well. Can’t wait to come back!

New Years Eve getaway.
The house was very nice and in a perfect location. Our only complaint was that the bathrooms were not cleaned. It didn’t seem like any dusting or cleaning of the floors was done either. It is a very comfortable house and we would like to book it again, but are a little hesitant because of the lack of cleaning. Owners were very responsive when we booked.Overall our stay was great!Just really wish it had been cleaned.

Beautiful house with character and great views
The location was convenient. The house was as described. Lots of sleeping options, lots of character beautiful views. The backyard was unbelievable with the views of the lake and hearing the waves crash all day is awesome. Had a wonderful weekend and would definitely stay here again.

My first negative review ever! Many better properties in Door!
Property itself is nice, in great location with lovely views. The bath through the garage is tiny, and you must access it by going into the bedroom. Cleanliness was not good. There was a large urine stain right on top of one comforter, curly hairs left on the shower walls plus hair in drain. And worse, but it's too gross to specify. Porch smelled like urine. Had the owners been more responsive to our inquiries they could have spared themselves this review, but there were very slow responses(I realize they have lives, but any other properties we've rented replied VERY promptly) and now nothing for over a week, and... my messages have been deleted? We felt the cleaning fee should be waived, since the home was cleaner when we left than when we arrived. Does not appear we will even have the satisfaction of a reply. Looking back through reviews now I see others have had these issues as well. Many many better choices in Door County!

Owners had a mix up in our date to arrive so house was not ready. However, they came right away to clean. Price was very reasonable. Some negatives: Surface cleaned, needs deep cleaning; internet weak unless you are close to modem (re-booted as suggested by owner but did not change); lots of traffic noise.

While we enjoyed the yard and location the house was not very clean and the furniture old and not comfortable. The house had a musty odor.

This property is very accommodating to extended family group vacations. There's Lots of room & beautiful backyard with things to do, & close proximity to important WI vacation musts...sand, water, ice cream.Comfortable beds, yet very Disappointed with very limited linens (towels) & having to make up our own beds with all flat sheets, mismatched sized ones. ?? Is this normal as we expect otherwise when renting lodging. As well as asking me to switch out laundry not completed for bedding . Well stocked kitchen, great furnishings, AC needs repair as well as bikes. They thought of everything, many details, but big things needs to be maintained.

Fun before and after a wedding
Such a great location. Close to the beach and yummy restaurants within walking distance. So much room in the house for everyone. The teens loved the game room and bunk area. The sound and sight of the waves crashing on the shore was music to our ears. We spent alot of time in the huge private backyard. Enjoyed the campfire and did a little fishing. Not one disagreement for the whole five days. I attribute that to the spaciousness of the house with 4 huge bathrooms. Thank you for the wonderful experience.
