Come GETAWAY! Cute LOG home nestled in the woods on 4.5 acres with a POOL, only 5 minutes to Wimberley Square for shops/grocery/restaurants!
Home is also rented monthly-
LOCATION- Home is a 2 bedroom, 1 bath --sleeps 4 people max- preferably 2-3 people. (couch is NOT a pullout bed-home only has 2 beds). Has full kitchen. There is a pass-through from main bedroom downstairs to the bathroom.
PRIVATE FENCED shaded yard for 1 doggie for $35 fee, has GRILL, and private FIREPIT.
Pool is shared with 1 other home on the acreage (you can easily create private time in pool btwn you and other home--simply talk to other group/ pool is not heated in winter) . LOTS of space for everyone! Most people swim in the River anyway!
THERE ARE 4 PLACES TO SWIM IN THE BLANCO RIVER WITHIN 10 MINUTES OF THIS HOME.

I am in love with this place. The property was what I thought it would be from the VRBO add. Small 2 bdrm cabin, with a down stairs bedroom and a loft bedroom. A large bathroom/laundry room combo is off the down stairs bdrm. Fully stocked kitchen and Wi-Fi. Access to shared pool. The real wood paneled ceiling is gorgeous. Multiple outdoor seating areas included the pool area, front porch and back yard. I was in awe of a grey fox that wandered by one morning while I was having coffee on the front porch. I was looking for a quiet get away and this 100% fit the bill. Nothing but nature sounds and beautiful hill country. I would highly recommend this cabin.

The two bedroom one bath is kind of a misnomer because the bathroom is only accessible by walking through the downstairs bedroom. We were supposed to have a friend stay, but she ended up getting a hotel because waking past my sleeping husband to go to the bathroom at night was too awkward. The upstairs bedroom has a very steep spiral staircase that would not be good for small children or older (50+ us) who could find the stairs dangerous. The downstairs bedroom had no room for luggage, so we had to put all our things in the bathroom. The bathroom is very large. Lots of hot water which was nice since everyone wanted to shower after the pool. The upstairs bedroom has a low ceiling that my husband bumped his head on the one time he went up. OK, so that being said, the house was cute, very clean and comfortable. The kitchen was small, but we made three meals there easily. Everything worked well, including Wi-Fi and TV. The pool is small but sparkling and clean. If you're floating, it doesn't matter how big it is. Again, the stairs were hard for older people. The deck is fairly high from the water, so it was not easy in and out for someone with bad knees. The house was very close to Wimberly and Blue Hole. It was not within walking distance, but it was an easy drive to everything. The scenic view from the pool deck was lovely, but we could not see it from the house or in the pool water. We did encounter the family in the other house a few times, but didn't feel intruded on.

Cozy cottage feel, located just minutes from downtown Wimberly with a beautiful view of eolling hills! Interior has been altered since the photos included with listing, but still has cottage feel. My family loved the pool as well!

The property is awesome! The owner stayed in touch and the management has provided any and everything to guarantee a comfortable stay! We were so comfortable, we did not want to leave. We definitely recommend the location to others and we will be back in a few months. You will not be disappointed!

My partner and I had the most amazing stay! It was so peaceful and quiet. So close to Wimberly Square and the Blue Hole. It was clean and the A/C worked great. Cable worked just fine and so did the Wi-Fi. Only thing I didn’t realize was how close it was to the main house, but we barely saw the the family that stayed there and always managed to have alone time in the pool. For it being a small cabin in the woods, we had the most incredible time. We can’t wait to plan another trip in the future and stay here again. Maybe make it a yearly one thing! Highly recommend!!

Overall the stay was pleasant, the only draw back was the Air Conditioning did not adequately cool the master bedroom at night. During the heat of summer in August it was difficult to get a restful night's sleep.

We felt like we were in the middle of nowhere yet it was just minutes from town. It was so peaceful sitting on the decks. The house was huge and certainly could accommodate a large group. Next time we will bring the whole family.

There were a lot of positives about this property. Beautiful area and quiet. The cabin was clean however the furniture and furnishings - very AGED. It needs love inside and out. The photo with feet, railing and great view is not this cabin - it's from the pool area and the other home is to the left. Very close. The pool water was very murky. Not inviting at all. We never saw the peacock. Is he gone?

This is a perfect location for anyone looking to get away and enjoy some quiet relaxation in the Texas Hill Country. The Peacock House was exceptionally clean and charming; already searching for dates to book here again in the near future.

The location and space outside was great. We were able to build a fire and experience the great outdoors but the cleanliness was terrible inside the cabin. I took pictures of this. There was dust everywhere and in reach to clean but was not cleaned. (I'm short) Do to covid-19 being in high numbers you would expect it to be spotless or close. There was a piece of old lettuce in the inside of the the kitchen drawer and I didn't bring any lettuce with me. There was a dish drying rack under the sink with a spider sack and webs in it. The lamp upstairs was broken so it couldn't be turned it on. Dust was all on the wood and walls above the washer and dryer. The coffee pot had white residue at the bottom of the pot. The sink was rusted in the bathroom and the back of toilet dripped. Please invest into a cleaning service that can assure cleanliness for the next visitor and visitors to come. Thank you.

The Peacock house was awesome for my family. They had a fenced in yard for our dog and plenty of area to walk and explore with my daughter. We were only 10-15 minutes away from downtown Wimberley, which is very convenient for shopping and restaurants. The views from the property are very impressive. We look forward to another stay at the Peacock house the next time we go to Wimberley. Thanks!

A lovely return to nature

We wanted to unplug for a weekend and feel like we were camping without the hassle of, well, camping. This place fit the bill. The cabin is secluded in the woods and only has one other property nearby, although we didn't even see our neighbors except during arrival. We felt plenty secluded and to ourselves. The fire pit was completely secluded and it was lovely to sit there and actually see stars at night, since we are from the city. All the shops of Wimberely are nearby if you need anything, but the best part is the close proximity to Blue Hole and Jacobs Well. I would recommend if you are a city person looking to escape the hustle and bustle for a while.

Perfect Getaway during COVIDtime

We wanted to spend a week in the woods away from the worries of COVID-19 and so we booked this cute little cottage. It’s much nicer than the pictures show inside! The living room is so cozy and we spent most of our time enjoying the sunlight in this room, or on the front porch enjoying the view, when trucks were not blocking the gorgeous valley view! Our little dog inhibited the peacock time, the feeling between them was unfortunately mutual. But I still enjoyed seeing him and feeding him. The pool is bigger than it looks in the pix too, enough for the two of us to float our worries away, or for 5 creative kids from the larger rental house next door to play marco polo. Since we stuck around the property more than you might in normal times, the noise and business from ongoing construction of the barn and from having neighbors most of the time was a bit invasive and I had to shut the curtains more than I would normally. We enjoyed walking up the road and also drove to the enchanted rock park (1.5 hrs) and also the blue hole 1 or so miles away, where if you book months early you can swim, or just walk the nice shady trails. Carrie is wonderful, I was glad to meet her and hope to stay here or in one of her other properties again one day!

Beautiful property nestled in the hills. I love Wimberly, unfortunately, no fault of owner, obviously, but virus hit so we left early. It was fun to cook and swim in cute little cabin. Kids, ages 8 and 11 also really enjoyed. Thank you.

My family had a wonderful stay in this little cabin. The owners thought of everything you could possibly need! The beds were comfy and the place was clean. There was also an information binder that answered all of our questions along with a list local attractions to keep us busy. We will definitely return for our next stay in Wimberley.

We came to the Peacock house for a weekend birthday trip for 4 people. The house was the perfect size for that number. There was a mix up with the maid service when we arrived, but after calling the property manager, we had someone come to take care of the essentials within an hour (and it was about 9:30pm too!). Carrie was super friendly and accommodating. It was a very reasonable distance from all the things in the area we wanted to visit and the pool was a super nice touch. We’d definitely come back!

Came with my daughter and my sons fiancé. Carrie was so easy to work with and quick responses to my e-mail inquiries. The cabin is comfortable, clean and worked great for three of us. It is convenient to everything. The fenced in yard was great for our fur baby. The pool was clean and inviting, but we didn't get a chance to use it during our short stay. We went to Market Days, Jacobs Well, Cypress Creek, and even went up to play BINGO on Friday night at the VFW. We couldn't get into Blue Hole due to it being full when I tried to make reservations. Hiked around the property and sat outside at night chatting and seeing the beautiful stars. Mr. Petey the Peacock was strutting his stuff and just gorgeous. The next time we will definitely be up with our whole family and rent the main house and the cabin. My only recommendation would be to update the cabin book with the restaurants cuisines in the area and their closing times. We used our phones but they were inconsistent with some of the restaurants. Directions on how to place the lock box cover back on would have helped since it doesn't just pop back on. We called Arnold and he was very nice and explained it. I would also add that Jacobs Well and Blue Hole now require online reservations and the websites to go to along with the cost (very economical). They fill up a couple of weeks in advance. Apparently it is new system in place this year to help preserve the natural areas. One of the best places I've stayed. Like I said, we will be back.
