About this house rental
Set up high on the ridge with plunging views of Lake Norfork, the undiscovered gem of the Ozarks. With clear, still waters, it is the perfect lake for a family vacation. You can swim, boat, water-ski, fish, take a sunset cruise, hike the lakeside trail - or simply relax and enjoy the mesmerizing views from your luxury lodge.
With comfortable accommodations for up to 30 people, Equani Lodge is the perfect setting for a family reunion. There are 7 bedrooms, a nursery, 5 bathrooms inside, 1 at the pool cabana, 2 kitchens, 2 decks, a balcony, a heated pool (open from April - October) with pool deck, pool bar, BBQ, games room with pool table, playground equipment, hiking trail, fire pit, and 11 acres of lake view land for your exclusive use.
Your home away from home, everything is provided to make sure that your family and friends can relax and spend time bonding and making memories. All ages have been considered carefully, with ramp access to the whole main floor, and down to the pool, we can accommodate wheelchairs and walkers. The outside decks are each fenced in to keep our little ones and dogs safe, and the pool has an automatic cover. Children have highchairs, plastic plates, a crib, and a playground. The swimming pool has two ledges, one at 1.5 feet and one at 3 feet so kids can always find a safe place to stand around the edge of the pool. There are shady spots to relax on all three decks, where you can avoid the midday sun whilst still enjoying the great outdoors.
Everything comes ready to go for 30 people. From the bed linens, to the bath towels, to the cooking pots, pans, appliances, plates, mugs, silverware, plastic cups and plates, to the pool towels, and outside seating on the main deck which seats up to 30. The Great Room and Games Room each have a Smart TV and keypad so you can hook-up to the internet, your Netflix account etc. But with a huge array of channels on offer you may not need to. There is free wi-fi throughout the house and at the pool. The Games Room has a pool table and there is a basketball game at the pool, a swing, seesaw, and a badminton net and rackets.
In the winter months, there is still plenty to do at Equani Lodge. Our hiking trail leads from the front yard all the way down through the woods to the lake, then continues to Tracy Ferry Marina (2.7 miles each way) with beautiful lake views and wildlife along the way. The fire pit is perfect for cooler evenings and has a backdrop of Lake Norfork and spectacular sunsets. There are plenty of options for fishing in the area - either striper and walleye on the lake or trout on the White River. We can recommend some great guides in the area to show you the best secret spots.
In the warmer months, the highlight of any trip to Lake Norfork is getting out on the beautiful clean, clear water. There are very strict guidelines restricting any development around the lake which is the reason it remains so natural, quiet and clean. Lake Norfork is one of the most exclusive lakes in the region. However these restrictions also applies to boat docks which are very limited, so there is not direct water access from the house. Fortunately, there is a full service marina only 10 minutes away which offers a variety of boats for rent, along with gas, supplies etc. It is impeccably maintained and has slopes for wheelchair access etc. If you have your own boat and trailer, there is ramp access less than a mile away.
Luxuriously appointed bedrooms are all different from one another, each is influenced by one of the beautiful local birds of the Ozarks. There are 7 bedrooms and a nursery, with a variety of room configurations, some with ensuite bathrooms, balconies, terraces, and all (but one) with a stunning lake view.
Your every need has been anticipated so expect to have the most comfortable stay of your life. Beds feature high thread count linens, memory foam mattresses, fluffy duvets, and ample pillows. There is a ceiling fan over each bed, and air-conditioning so your room will be cool and breezy. Blackout curtains ensure you can sleep or nap whenever you like. Full length mirrors, wardrobes, a desk and chair, plenty of sockets for charging your devices, and free Fios wi-fi, give you all the comforts of home.

This was the 2nd time we’ve stayed at Equani Lodge. Perfect for our large family gathering. We had no hot water late one evening and Sean had someone there to fix it before 8:00 the next morning.
Beautiful lakeview, lots of privacy, nice pool and great house!

We had 3 sons and families stay. The house secluded enough for our loud family. The pool was a blast. We had a bonfire, cliff jumped, fished, tubed and just enjoyed each other. I can’t think of one thing wrong with this house.
Thank you!

We have not been able to stop gushing about how much we loved this venue for our summer wedding. Our guests and family/friends had nothing but amazing comments about the view, the home, the pool, everything! Sean was super responsive with anything we needed during our stay, and Hilary was phenomenal in providing details and helping answer questions before we arrived. Highly highly recommend for a vacation and wedding getaway!

We held our first family Thanksgiving gathering outside of grandma's and grandpa’s house. Our family consists of grandparents, three children ,their spouses and 15 grandchildren. The accommodations were lovely , easily housed four couples and all the children . Kitchens had space to cook thanksgiving dinner and all the trimmings.we even held a pie baking contest the day after. The views were awesome , the memories priceless.

Our group had an amazing weekend at Equani Lodge. The beds were comfortable, the views from the main gathering space and the outside porches were inspiring, and the location was exactly what we needed.

Beautiful location, great layout for large gatherings. Loved the outdoor deck and pool area. I would recommend doing a video walk thru and noting any issues promptly. Make sure you follow the checklist closely after leaving. Maybe even an exit video for your benefit.

Our immediate family stayed at Equani Lodge and loved it!!! Heated pool was great and the owner’s advice to eat at the Grill at Whispering Woods was spot on. Spent a perfect day on Norfolk Lake too. Will definitely rent this property again!

Exceeded our expectations. As expected with any house, we had a few issues that were taken care of in a timely manner. This house could not be more perfect for a family vacation.

So nice we stayed there twice! This huge home is perfect for active families who love to kick back in the pool, enjoy the marina and the lake nearby, make family style dinners, and play games or relax with a book. The bedrooms are beautiful and comfortable, and the bathrooms are nicer than the ones we have at our own homes!

We stayed here for a family vacation---24 of us aged 1 1/2 through 82. The property offers so much: hiking across from the front door, swimming pool, enough house space for rainy day fun (which we had), bags tournament on the deck, bar fun poolside, and evening card games at the dining room table. One family brought their dirt bikes and ATVs, and they found a place to ride 25 minutes from the house. We also had a lake day and rented two pontoons from Tracy Marina. Another day, we canoed/kayaked on the Buffalo River, which was beautiful and fun!
So, as you can see, this location/house offers so much to do on the grounds and in the area. We loved our stay, but I would be remiss if I did not include a few issues. The house needs some upgrades. During a storm, the windows in the front room leaked so much water that we all grabbed bath towels to try and keep it from running onto the floor. Upon further review, the inside wood was rotting, and some ants were found, which means this has been a problem for a while. One of our families had to put a bowl by the window in their bedroom due to a water leak through the window due to the storm. The dishwasher also leaked water, pouring out from the side. The kitchen sink is loose from its base, and a few nuts are missing from the back of the bolts on the balcony. We informed the manager of the issues and hope they get those fixed. So, besides those issues, we had a fun and memorable trip!

Had family reunion from 4 different states. We had a blast and made wonderful memories 💕 The place is perfect for large groups. There are places to hide if you want alone time or hang with everyone. Few minor hiccups but was handled professionally and efficiently. Thank you for the memories 💕 also we recommend Tracy’s Marina. Rented two pontoon boats. So much fun and very nice to work with.

Our family of 25 loves Equani! I think this is our 6th year to stay here & we've already booked next year! There's plenty of room for indoor activities but we love the outside space. From the decks to the pool it's just beautiful! Plus this year there was a baby deer! Equani doesn't disappoint!

Such a hidden gem! It’s very unusual to find a property (anywhere) where every single room is luxurious with plenty of bathrooms. Amazing views, a heated pool, friends dinners at the super large table, and late night campfires. Love this place so much, we returned for a second time.

Equani Lodge just made our wedding day everything we could have ever dreamed of!! We had multiple comments on how gorgeous and well-done the venue was. The view was gorgeous, all the details were very well thought out and all high quality. Sean is just simply wonderful. All my wedding party commented on how great he was, but I already knew because of all my past interactions with him that he was fantastic!
We booked this venue without actually going to it until months later and the pictures didn’t disappoint! If you are on the fence, let me tell you- you HAVE to visit Equani Lodge! It was large enough for all our out of town guests and wedding party to sleep there as well! They have the perfect bar setup, and amazing porches and seating with a view! We cannot recommend Equani enough and can’t wait to come back for anniversary celebrations!

Overall our stay was very relaxing, the property and view of the lake were beautiful and better than we expected. The caretaker Sean was very responsive when contacted. The bedrooms were roomy and accommodating, the upstairs kitchen was fully equipped, there were four full size refrigerators for ample storage of food and drinks. The only ding was the periodic stained water coming from the well system which they tried to correct and is the only reason I gave 4 stars for cleanliness.

Very spacious and well-maintained home and property. A family of eight spread out through the house upstairs and downstairs. Pool cleaned twice during our week stay. Two kitchens, three fridges in the house and another by the pool. Totally enjoyed our vacation at Equani Lodge.

Equani was absolutely perfect for our wedding. The house and property is beautiful and was the perfect layout for a fun pool-side wedding. We appreciate the communication with the owners and property managers. Some unexpected plumbing issues came up and they worked really hard to resolve them as quickly as possible to make sure it didn’t impact our stay and wedding. I definitely recommend!

Great group gathering location
What is there to say about a place that can bring a large family together for a reunion other than Equani was as close to a perfect spot as one could fine. The manager was extremely responsive as well during our stay. There are trails on site, plenty of appliances, endless spaces to sleep along with a feeling of privacy. This is the type of space where all adults can sleep solo without kids and have a number of bunk rooms while leaving space for the occasional young child wandering into their parents room with overflow beds with trundles too. AC was powerful! The bathrooms had leaning storage space which with a large gathering is very helpful. Go further down the road and there is a nice street for walking without cars. George’s Cove is just across the street for boat launching. The White River is nearby. The roads are great for biking as well. If you find yourself reading this review, please just go ahead and find dates that work for your group and stop looking.
