About this house rental
What we intend to become our retirement home in a few years, our 1300 sq. ft. home is on the Anclote River between the Greek Sponge docks and the Gulf.
Grill fresh fish and set up dinner on the dock, then boat out to the keys. Play golf nearby, hike or bike the Pinellas Trail that slips through the center of old Tarpon Springs.
With 2 bedrooms, 4 beds, we are set up for a very comfortable relaxed vacation for 4, with a pull-out queen in the living room for the occasional visitor.
We have replaced all the appliances. Our HVAC is sterilized at the intake with a UV filter to keep the environment healthy even for sensitive souls, like us. A laundry room and garage keep things comfortable. The best place to spend time is on our dock with a floating platform, which allow easy access onto our kayaks, or a small deck for grilling or relaxing
We have two bicycles for your use, and a great Necky tandem kayak as well as a solo that give you intimate access off our dock to the river and bayous.
Per Tarpon Springs zoning regulations our minimum stay is now 42 days.
If you have questions, send us an inquiry.
Thanks!

We stayed at the house while visiting grandkids and family. The home was perfect for our needs. Able to relax in the living room or on the screened porch. The deck is comfortable with a table and chairs. Our grandkids loved the dock. We fished and watched sting rays swim by. The tranquil neighborhood is just what we were looking for.

A perfect setting to relax and rejuvenate on the Anclote River. We enjoyed fishing, watching the birds, strolling the sponge docks, eating seafood, and watching the boats go by.

Betsy and Scott’s home on the Alcote River in Tarpon Springs, is a delight. Beautifully kept and a wonderful out look over the garden and dock. I loved whiling away a few hours in the Florida room especially first thing in the morning and the evenings.
My husband enjoyed the dock for fishing and watching all the boats going in and out everyday, just as well as the fish weren’t too keen to bite! There is plenty to do and see in the area. Betsy was very friendly and helpful to deal with. Thank you for having us. We would recommend a visit.

The home was neat, clean, and easy to stay in. Kitchen was well furnished. We thoroughly enjoyed the screened porch overlooking the river and watching boats, as well as fishing from the dock. Easy location for tourist activities and a variety of dining out. Highly recommend for a couple or small size family. Scott and Betsy made the use of their home easy and welcoming.

My husband and I really enjoyed our stay! The house is in a quiet neighborhood but is close to downtown Tarpon Springs, the Sponge Docks, restaurants, the grocery store, and Fred Howard Park. We especially enjoyed sitting out on the dock, nice breeze, seeing the boats go in and out, fishing, and watching various birds. We kayaked, rode bikes, laid in the hammock, and played cards at night out in the spacious sunroom. Everything was great, and we really appreciate Betsy and Scott sharing their home and having everything we needed.

Excited to share our 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 review of this idyllic home on the Anclote River in Tarpon Springs! We were looking for something “different” than the usual “beachfront” and came across this jewel! Think “Olde Florida” with live oak trees, lush tropical shrubs, and an inviting dock on a serene river! We had an absolute stellar week and loved the mixture of exploring the sponge docks and embracing the local Greek culture 🇬🇷 and restaurants! The food…Opa! So good! We also explored nearby Dunedin and their fun downtown shops, pier, and food. The interior of the home itself had a great “retro” vibe which brought back fond memories of growing up in Florida during the 60s and 70s! The laidback Florida room was the top spot for relaxation while enjoying the river view! Location is in a very nice and easily walkable neighborhood and also convenient to the sponge dock area and groceries, etc. The owners were great and super easy (and fast!) to communicate with. Our time “on the river” will be forever special to us and we will most definitely return as soon and as often as we can!

My husband and I have stayed here several times, and have thoroughly enjoyed every visit. Scott and Betsy are excellent hosts, and respond VERY quickly to any questions. Lots of things to do in Tarpon Springs and the nearby communities; there’s something for everyone. It’s also relaxing to just stay put and view the Anclote River from the dock (dolphins are regular visitors), or putter around with the kayaks.

Wonderful and well appointed. Very nice and well kept old school Florida home. It was like going back in time and visiting my aunt when I was young. Location was great.Very close to local beaches and shopping. Outdoor area was just so picturesque. Dock area was very nice and we caught some spectacular sunsets and a few fish. I would definitely recommend and would for sure go back. We had a great time. Thank you!

This place is magical!
This property is beautiful ! If you enjoy lazy days on the water in a comfortable setting, it's perfect for you. We enjoyed the property either in the sunroom, on the patio or on the dock the whole week. Close to the sponge docks and restaurants/shops and boats. Groceries near by, along with a great produce stand. We enjoyed dinners on the patio almost every evening. The house was extremely clean, well equipped and the beds /bath comfortable.
We enjoyed the local wildlife, seeing a great variety of birds ,dolphins and even a daily visit from a neighborhood cat.
I loved my week in Tarpon Springs at this so much. I hope to return to this special place again soon.

This Is The One
If your dream vacation includes a gem if a house with a warm personality, thoughtfully equipped with everything you might need, a magical garden with gorgeous waterfront location and direct gulf access - this is the one. If you’d love to relax on your own private dock and spot dolphins, beautiful shore birds, jumping fish, and a daily parade of boats, or kayak from the floating dock - this is the one. If you’d love to explore a charming village center, historical sponge docks, close by restaurants, marinas renting all sorts of boats - this is the one. If you want to have an easy drive to St Pete, Clearwater, Caladesi Island and Honeymoon Island State Park - this is the one. If you want to rent from generous hosts, accurate with listing details, who are easy to communicate with- this is definitely the one. We hope our dream will come true again next year.

Amazing Property!
The property was exactly as represented in the VRBO listing. It was clean and well stocked with any item that you may need or had forgotten to bring.
We enjoyed our stay and look forward to one day returning - 1 week was not enough time to enjoy this wonderful property and all the nearby activities. The property was conveniently located near any retail facilities that you may want to visit but not to close to the tourist crowds.
The backyard dock on the Anclote River was absolutely wonderful. We spent a considerable amount of time decompressing from our daily routines just sitting on the dock soaking up nature. We saw dolphins, manatees, and countless birds. The twisted live oaks on the property were also amazingly beautiful.
The only thing that could make this property better would be that my husband and I owned it.

Great place to stay.
Other than having trouble with getting the cable to work (for local news, but we were not there to watch tv), we really enjoyed our stay. The home lived up to its listing by far. I personally would update the queen mattress, but that's my opinion.
We truly enjoyed our stay and would return if the opportunity arose.

Comfortable and lovely stay
Spent 4 weeks in this lovely and comfortable house. Great location on the river with an always interesting view. Safe and walkable neighborhood. House was probably the best equipped of the many houses we have rented. Kitchen had all the dishes, appliances, utensils, etc that one would need. House was clean and had more than sufficient towels, placemats, etc needed. Appreciate all the beach items for a Florida vacation. Great communication with the owners. Friendly and quiet neighborhood.

Lovely home in a great location
This is a lovely and well appointed home with lots of wonderful nearby activities. We enjoyed having use of kayaks and bicycles. We could walk or ride bikes to the beach. We saw dolphins while kayaking the nearby bayou. We saw the manatees in Spring bayou. Good fishing in the Anclote River and Whitcomb bayou. Had a great week of fun and sun at this beautiful property.

We will book for next year once we have our family's schedule. Thanksgiving on the dock and on the patio area was wonderful. Fantastic.

Perfect for our fishing vacation needs.
With all the turbulence around COVID-19, I had to reschedule my post-cancer treatment fishing trip from the Spring to the Fall, and finding a week that worked for my sons and me proved challenging. I found Betsy and Scott's property available just a month before our vacation, and it fit our needs perfectly. The home is in a quiet neighborhood, very private and safe. Because of Hurricane Eta, we had to get creative in our fishing plans! We fished the first two days off of the property's floating dock, and we caught eight different kinds of fish. None were keepers, but the action and variety alone made it interesting and fun. We were able to go offshore on the last three days and had a lot of success catching large, keeper-size grouper and snapper. Previously, I'd fished many times out of Clearwater and John's Pass, both of which are over-fished, and the Gulf off of Tarpon Springs is far superior. Because of the hurricane, Betsy and Scott very graciously extended our stay two days at no cost, which enabled two days of great offshore fishing that we wouldn't have had otherwise. We kept our 22 foot power cat overnight at the dock for three nights with no problem. My sons enjoyed bicycling in the neighborhood and kayaking in the bayous as well. The property also had a lot of nice little extras, like the bikes, kayaks, fishing equipment and tools that enhanced our experience. The property is in great shape in all areas, obviously well-maintained. We're already very much looking forward to our next trip to Tarpon Springs!

Perfection
The owners of the home could not have been nicer or more communicable. The house itself was wonderful and of course the setting on the Anclote River was stunning. If you have the chance to book this house don’t think twice...just do it. You won’t be sorry!
