This recently built house combines the comforts of western living with the ease of the Caribbean indoor/outdoor style. Tropical hardwoods, beautiful design and modern amenities make Casa Bella an ideal destination.
From the airy and bright living room/dining room you enter the spacious modern kitchen, with its full-sized fridge, stove/oven and double sink. The kitchen comes equipped with cookware and dishware.
On the main floor there are two bedrooms with queen sized beds, private ensuite bathrooms with hot water showers, fans, and shelving for storing clothing .
Go up the external spiral staircase from the pool-side deck to a breezy loft that can be added to accommodate 2-4 more people. At the top of the loft's spiral stairs is a wide balcony where you can recline in a hammock and take in the canopy view. Inside the loft is an open living area with queen-sized bed, kitchenette, safe, fan, closet and three piece bathroom. There are also two single beds, perfect for kids.
Just across the pool from Casa Bella are Casita Bonita and Casita Sol.
Casita Bonita has an outdoor living area, two bedrooms with queen beds, two bathrooms, and a full kitchen (sleeps 4). Casita Sol has one bedroom (queen bed and single bed), one bathroom, a full kitchen, and hammock-strung second-story balcony (sleeps 3).
A tropical sanctuary, the lot at Casa Bella has fruit trees, flowering bushes, palm trees, ylang-ylang, open spaces and shady zones. We often have howler monkeys and sloths visiting, and if you look up you can catch a parrot or toucan party in our trees, or see the macaws flapping by.
The house is on both municipal and well water systems. Water is abundant and clean.
There is parking for up to 4 cars at the rear of the house.
From the lot is a 3 minute walk to the public access path to Playa Chiquita Beach, rated the best (and prettiest) beach on this coast! The path is another 2-3 minute walk down to the beach. Playa Chiquita Beach is sheltered by an off-shore reef making sections of it a kid-friendly place to swim. With series of sandy coves you can splash and swim, or wade and wallow in the coral fringed pools that decorate the points.
Centrally located in Playa Chiquita Village, near groceries and restaurants, Casa Bella is tucked away in its private spot a mere 1 minute walk from the main road.

Playa Chiquita is a small village 5 km south of Puerto Viejo de Limon. We are famous for having the most beautiful and serene beaches on the coast. You can stroll down the coast in either direction all the way to Puerto Viejo, Manzanillo, and beyond along unpopulated stretches of beach.
El Duende Gourmet, the grocer 5 minutes walk from Casa Bella, is fully stocked with dry goods, dairy, meat, fresh produce, cold beer and a good selection of wine and liquor. Check out the fresh baked goods by the entrance. Bread, croissants, pan au chocolate, donuts, pita, strudels, pizzas, and empanandas delivered fresh daily!
There are 8+ restaurants in Playa Chiquita. Our favorites are Pura Gula, Gypsea Cafe and Lounge, and the two woodfire pizza restaurants! A little further down the coast toward Puerto Viejo is Spicy Coconut, a new favorite with excellent fusion food, great location on the beach, and fantastic service.
There are two bike rental shops, and on Saturdays and Wednesdays there is a fresh produce market, as well as a couple of pop up produce stands where local farmers sell their wares.

What a fantastic vacation! The property is gorgeous, spacious, and clean! It’s well stocked with necessary items. The pool offers much needed refreshment after hikes/sightseeing. It is well/frequently maintained. The grounds are surrounded by exotic flowers/plants and are frequently visited by (non-threatening) wildlife. The sounds of nature are quite amazing! Darren and Erinn are wonderful! They are very willing to help in any way needed and are a wealth of knowledge. Costa Rica is full of beauty, and a must-do for those who love to explore!

The place is as nice as the pictures show. Plenty of room, two air-conditioned bedrooms, laundry room, magnificent pool which was nice to come home to each day and cool off and relax. Cahuita was warm and humid while we were there so having a place to back to and unwind was soooo nice. Erinn is a great host and had some great recommendations but also let us do our own thing. Convenient to restaurants, beaches, grocery store, bikes, which we used a ton. (Bikes are right behind the grocery store). We did not have a car but next time I think I would rent one and make the drive. I highly recommend this place!

Our stay at this place was wonderful!
We stayed for 4 days on this beautiful property and felt like it was not enough time. Getting to the area was easy using Waze. The property was clean and welcoming. Pretty much as the pictures. Erinn is an extraordinary hostess with the most. We had wine and snacks awaiting us as gifts. The area has great restaurants at walking distance, and a convenience grocery store.
The grounds of the property is nestled in the jungle. We saw a variety of jungle animals and lots of birds that call the area home. I wish I had brought my binoculars! The garden is beautiful and smells like jungle heaven. We enjoyed just sitting outside by the pool and taking in all there is to see, hear, smell, feel and touch. Such a relaxing property. We had the much needed rest we needed, in an amazing place! Thank you!

The property was beautiful, lots of room for the seven of us, the kids loved staying in their own casitas and made as good use of the pool as we did of the beach. The area is quiet but has so much in walking or walking distance. I can't say enough about our hosts and their warm, friendly support and helpfulness in making suggestions, arranging drivers, providing some gift basket items to get us started. We had a wonderful week at Casa Bella.

Wonderful spot just outside (south side) of Puerto Viejo, the owner and host Erinn was very helpful and communicative. The jaguar rescue is near by and worth a visit, and the beaches of Punta Uva are as well. We had a great week long stay in this spot and would come again.

Our week long vacation at Casa Bella was our 7th trip to Costa Rica...1st time on the Caribbean coast. This property was so fabulous we rarely left it. We spent most of the week enjoying the huge outdoor living area: floating in the saltwater pool, enjoying all the wildlife (especially our resident sloth and family of agoutis) and beautiful gardens with all the hummingbirds. This property is heaven for bird watchers! The house had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. We loved how the inside sitting and dining area totally opened up to the rainforest: sat there early in the morning enjoying our coffee, reading, and listening to the rainforest wake up. Howler monkeys were so close! Supermarkets were nearby so we didn't have to venture far for groceries. We cooked out on the grill and also went to restaurants right around the corner, where we had some great meals and plenty of fresh seafood, A chilled bottle of wine and snacks were waiting for us when we arrived late in the evening after driving from San Jose....so nice! Erinn's directions were perfect! She was readily available for any concerns (of which we had none) and we enjoyed our short chats with her. We hope to go back again...next time for a much longer stay!

Erinn's place at Playa Chiquita is awesome! We loved being within walking distance of fabulous restaurants and a well stocked grocery store. It was so easy to get around with Tuk Tuks. Erinn helped with anything we needed. There is a fabulous urgent care facility with in Puerto Viejo just minutes away if you need medical care like we did. I received excellent care from a doctor who spoke English. Tip: wear water shoes at the beaches to avoid getting stung by a rock fish!

3 friends traveling for a B-Day Trip.
The house and property are a great design. A lot of work and love put into this. Mornings were spent outside in the gardens, watching birds and wildlife while eating breakfast. Days at the many local beaches and exploring the area. Late afternoon, in pool, then out to many walkable restaurants for dinner. Food on Carib side we heard is Great! We Agree!!
We enjoyed beautiful birds, local wildlife and 2 Sloths, thanks to Melvin the grounds keeper! The Howler monkey's had been visiting another area during the first half of our visit. The last 2 mornings, they let their presence be known at 4 AM. The sound is unreal. A huge thank you to Erinn our Host. She went over the top to make our stay comfortable. Our flight was delayed and then the drive from San Jose took longer than expected due to construction. Restaurants were closing, we had not had an opportunity to purchase food. She immediately jumped on the phone to a local restaurant that was closing and asked if there was anything they could quickly put together. It worked! We had food and a great night sleep on comfortable beds. Erinn was available to us the entire trip if we needed anything. Highly recommend Caribbean vacation at Casa Bella.

The house and grounds were beautiful. Plenty of room for 9 of us to spread out. Kids loved the pool and their privacy in the little houses on the property. Loved hearing the nighttime jungle sounds. Erinn very attentive to any concerns we might have had. She was terrific and answered any and every question we had before the visit.
One thing that could be improved is having hangers and hooks in the bedrooms - at least in the main house. Maybe the smaller houses had them.
But the beauty and convenience of the house and the grounds more than made up for that.

First off Erinn is a fantastic hostess! She had so much useful information about the local food, transportation, beach spots, tours, etc. She made us feel at home and arranged transportation from SJO to and from the property (our driver Tune was a treasure - lifelong bilingual local who gave some great tips and information along the drive). The property is GORGEOUS. We had a sloth visitor, resident toucans, saw the daily green macaw fly overs, monkeys swinging in the trees, red eyed tree frogs at night, geckos, iguanas and a myriad of hummingbirds and butterflies due to the beautifully kept landscaping. Casa Bella offers a perfect sized open air kitchen and the loft was the a great place for the kids to hang out and watch for wildlife. The pool was perfect for cooling off and the deck was amazing for hanging out for drinks and family time. We absolutely will be coming back! The property is an easy walk to shops, food and the beach but private enough to feel like we were in our own slice of paradise. Pura Vida! As my daughter says “¡cinco estrellas!”

This place is amazing. The location, setting, the grounds, the house, the pool are perfect for a get away to the Caribbean coast of Costa Rica. Convenient to multiple restaurants, shops, beaches, and nature. We had visits from many types of birds and animals on the property including a sloth, raccoons, Agoutis, humming birds, and toucans to name a few. The hosts are close by and very helpful with suggestions on where to dine or a place to visit. Thanks Erinn and Darren for your hospitality and a great vacation experience in Costa Rica.

This was a 50th wedding anniversary trip we had planned two years ago, but due the pandemic was delayed until this past April. Worth the wait! The beautiful main house and casitas were perfect for an extended family vacation, ages 4 - 73. The home was within walking distance to excellent restaurants and spectacular beaches. The pool and grounds were beautiful. we loved waking up to the sights and sounds of birds, monkeys and the resident agouti. Erinn was responsive and wonderful to work with. Thank you so much for sharing your beautiful home with our family. This stay was certainly a highlight of our nearly 3 weeks in beautiful Costa Rica.

This was a perfect spot for a little getaway with two families. We had 4 adults and 3 kids, 12 and 15, with us There was plenty of space for everyone. All of the beds were very comfortable. The bathrooms were fantastic and the showers had great water pressure and plenty of hot water. The kitchen was spacious and well equipped. The pool was clean and delightful. The laundry facilities with two sets of washers and dryers were very appreciated. The host was very attentive and took care of our every need. The facility was spotless and meticulously taken care of with pride. I would highly recommend and hope to return some day.

What a wonderful home! The house was very comfortable and clean and the pool was big and also very clean. It is right next to a reserve (Manzanilla), so there was a sloth and many birds on the property, which was kept with beautiful plants. It was walking distance to the beach. Our family included 2 kids and 2 grandparents and Erinn was very helpful with our questions and advice about things to do.

We absolutely love the property. The houses are beautiful, the garden even more so. There are opportunities for spotting wildlife right in the yard. We saw sloths, monkeys, macaws and so much more from our porch. Erin is amazing and will go out of her way to make you comfortable. As a bonus, there was an incredible lack of bugs!! I didnt get a mosquito bite the entire week+ trip. Compared to new England summers, this is a bug free haven. The beaches are a close walk and stunning. The local culture is warm and friendly. I would recommend this property to loved ones and me and my family fully plan on going back for another trip to Erin's. There aren't enough stars for this place. Do yourself a favor amd book it!! You wont regret it!

First, let me say Erinn is one of most responsive hosts we have worked with, from trip planning to recommending tour guides and activities to arrival Erinn was always quick to respond. And a downright nice person! The property is well maintained and landscaped beautifully. The saltwater pool was cleaned daily and is a refreshing break as temperatures rise. There are many fabulous restaurants within walking distance and a well appointed kitchen for those times you wish to do your own cooking. Wildlife is abundant in the area. We saw more sloths in this area than we have ever seen. There are miles of great beaches within walking distance. A great place to just hang out and chill or use as a base for your adventures.

We loved our stay at Canton Talamanca! The house and property were as pictured. We stayed here with our children, their friends and our parents as well. There was room for everyone and space to gather and also find some privacy. The grounds are beautiful: lush and alive with the birds of Costa Rica. A sloth even hung around during our stay.. The pool was lovely, salt water too. The outdoor gazebo by the pool was very relaxing and the grill worked well. There were plenty of towels available and excellent laundry facilities on the property. Erin, our host, was friendly and attentive. I would point out that the property did not have a tv or a microwave or dishwasher. That was just fine for us. We didn’t miss them. The place is not air conditioned. We did not find this to be problematic at all during our stay. The rooms all have ceiling fans and the bedrooms had extra floor fans if needed. There is a great sense of indoor/outdoor living here. Which was exactly what we were looking for on our first (but not last) trip to Costa Rica. I would definitely stay here again given the chance and recommend it to a friend.

We feel blessed to have found such a beautiful property and amazing host to spend a week near Puerto Viejo. We opened the huge windows and listened to the rainforest every morning and evening or sat by the pool and enjoyed the scenery. Erinn was such a gem, she answered all of my questions and helped us when we needed to get local healthcare for my son's ear infection. We loved the location-walking distance to the beach, grocery store and restaurants, while still far enough away from the hustle and bustle of Puerto Viejo. Punta Uva was our favorite local beach and we loved the chocolate tour at Carribeans. Maybe some day we will be able to return! Thank you, Erinn, for making our trip one we will always remember.

Erin was a fantastic host - easy to communicate with, incredibly helpful and thoughtful. The house was great - it was our first stop in Costa Rica and was a perfect place to rest and recharge after a very long trip from Australia. The house is clean, well stocked and beautiful. The kids loved the pool and the short walk to a magnificent secluded beach. there were a few great restaurants locally and we all really enjoyed our stay. I highly recommend it!

A nice location in a laid-back town with lots to do. Surfing, hiking, nature preserves, beach days… One day it was raining, so we stayed home, opened all the window walls and watched it come down. It was actually a lovely experience because we were in such a beautiful house. Erinn was great from beginning to end.

Pictures don't do this place justice. If you are looking for somewhere to relax in a chilled location, this is it. Far nicer in Chiquita and Cocles than nearby PV, but PV still very easy to get to if you want to head there. So nice just sitting outside to eat in the evenings after cooking on the BBQ. The covered seating area outside sheltered us from the most torrential of downpours, and the fans inside were more than needed to keep cool during the night. Erinn and team were on hand before and during the stay. and always responded really quickly. Highly recommended.

We stayed 6 nights at this beautiful property before moving on to other parts of Costa Rica. At the end of the 16 day trip, we all agreed that this place was the bomb. The property is off the main road just enough that you don't hear any road noise, but its an easy 1-2 minute walk out to the road. The beach is just another 1-2 minutes from there and is beautiful and clean. There are several restaurants and a small but good grocery store within easy walking distance as well. we sampled most of them and they were all good.
The houses are very private and the landscaping and surrounding jungle are so beautiful and lush. We spent a lot of time just sitting outside watching the wildlife in the trees all around the house. We had howler monkeys daily, saw two sloths, one of which walked right across the yard in front of us to get to a new tree, frogs, many birds, capuchin monkeys on one occasion and agoutis. It was really magical. The pool was perfectly clean and sparkling and we enjoyed it and the covered pool deck area every day.
The main house is spacious and open air. The Casitas are smaller and a bit more rustic. They are all very nice and have everything you need except shower toiletries which you will need to bring with you. One of the Casitas has a full outdoor kitchen which is really neat. There is onsite laundry. You should know that there is no air conditioning, but there are ample ceiling fans, even out on the covered pool deck area. Each bedroom has a ceiling fan as well as a regular oscillating fan and we were very comfortable to sleep. Erinn, the property owner lives nearby and was very helpful and responsive to anything we needed.

Literally breathtaking. A little personal castle in the jungle. If we hadn’t planned a trip to the _Caribbean_ we never would have left our little paradise at all! Beaches and food and fun very close by. The host is attentive and will connect you with good recommendations. I everything about staying here was lovely!

We enjoyed our stay at Casa Bella. The salt water pool is beautiful, and the house, casitas, and property are meticulously taken care of. Erinn was a very responsive and helpful host. A few days before we were supposed to arrive, a major bridge was destroyed by a tropical storm. Erinn kept me in the loop on an alternative travel route and unfortunately, we weren't able to spend our first night there as traveling in the dark for safety reasons wasn't recommended on that road. Erinn stocked the fridge with bread, jams, milk, juice, and eggs for our breakfast so we could have something upon arrival after our rough travel. She lives near the property and checked the pool salt levels daily as well as dropped off clean towels. She's wonderful and really cares about Casa Bella and her guests. We loved the area, but it's a little further from the beach than we thought, it's not quite steps away, but more like at 10-15 min walk. There is no air conditioning which may not bother some people, but we found stifling at times. There's only one standing fan available, but it could be helpful to have more fans available in addition to the ceiling fans. There were a lot of ants everywhere but Erinn sent someone to spray the property which helped. With an open air tropical property, I guess ants are something that come with the territory. Thankfully, the bridge was fixed a day or two before we left. We loved Puerto Viejo de Talamanca - we surfed, visited the Gandoca-Manzanillo reserve where we saw a sloth and lots of monkeys, went to yoga, enjoyed the Casa Bella pool and BBQ grill (would recommend getting steak knives though - there also weren't enough plates for our group of 13 to use). Would recommend Casa Bella for your group! Pura vida :)

I'd like to begin by saying my family has stayed in VRBO (or similar) homes in 6 counties over many years and we've never returned to the same place twice. We like to explore the world. I'd love to return to this home again and again!!
The house is lovely. There is everything you NEED while still being fairly simple. I don't enjoy houses that are overly decorated and filled with too much stuff. There was plenty of room for us to move in! The temperature in the house was comfortable with fans. My husband tends to get hot easily and he was very happy here!! The pool was delightful. The temperature was cool enough to be refreshing, but not at all cold. It was so nice to swim before bed!
There was coffee, chocolate and fresh flowers for us on arrival. Erinn was very helpful with any questions we had prior to travel or during our stay. She popped in each day to clean the pool and we looked forward to seeing her. She was not at all invasive. Our kids loved her newly adopted pup!
The area was delightful and fun! It was a very easy walk to the store, restaurants and the beach. It was a short drive to mutiple national parks, rescue centers, chocolate tours, so many beaches.... there was just so much to do. I also could have relaxed in the yard and done nothing!!
My only recommendation would be to have some additional space to hang clothing. I had some light dresses and would have loved some hangers to air them out. We used the porch railing, which worked fine!!

The house is spacious and sunny. There was enough space for our family of five. The backyard and pool are the best part. We spent a lot of time enjoying the patio and watching the local wildlife (watusa, toucans, howler monkeys, and macaws). The location is also very convenient to a local market (3 minute walk) which had everything we needed to make breakfast and snacks at home. There are also some great restaurants within a 3-5 minute walk. Playa Chiquita is also a short walk away. The beach is beautiful and not crowded but there is an undertow it’s not the best for swimming. For calmer waters Punta Uva is a 5-10 drive. The beach there is gorgeous and the water was calm enough for my seven year old daughter to swim. Erinn is a fantastic hostess. She was very quick to respond to all questions and is a wealth of information. There were even welcome goodies in the fridge when we arrived which was greatly appreciated after a long trip to get there. If you’re looking for an authentic Costa Rican experience this is the place to go!

The property was everything promised and more. The house is beautiful, sitting on an extremely manicured property with an amazing pool. You can’t ask for more. Erinn and Darren have designed the house and property for complete enjoyment while you are staying there without needing anything. Erinn is an exceptional host and was always extremely quick to respond to any questions prior to the trip and so attentive during time at Casa Bella. The guest book she provided had so much useful information for the things to do in the area from tours, food, restaurants, etc. and nothing disappointed. Listening to the Howler Monkeys every morning and watching them in the trees surrounding the property, the agoutis running back and forth, the Macaws and Toucans flying over and squawking in the trees, was so much fun. We will definitely be back and will book our stay at Casa Bella when we do.

Erinn's Casa Bella was a vacation within another amazing vacation. We are a family of four with 2 small children and could not have been happier with our stay! We wanted to be in the jungle, but walking distance from a nice beach, and also have the luxury of a private pool - score!!
Now for the specifics and things we did not expect (but loved):
1. Erinn is an exceptional and attentive host. She lives just across the street and is easy to access when necessary, but is definitely not invasive. We had complete autonomy in her beautiful Shangri-la.
2. The majestic walk to the beach is just outside a back (locked) gate and meanders through a lush, jungle path through paradise. And within maybe 4 minutes (longer if you get sucked into the wildlife and beauty) you are standing on stunning Playa Chiquita.
3. The kitchen is well stocked and thought out. We hired a cook for 2 nights (more to come on that...) and she was able to create all the dishes she wanted with the supplies provided. And there was even Tupperware for the leftovers!
4. The amount of separate living spaces within the home was thoroughly appreciated. Our kids could take over one of the tables/couch while we could keep another area open for relaxing and hanging out. Plus another space for the dining room/eating. If we had more people in our party (living upstairs or in one of the other 2 Casitas) there still would have been plenty of room to play, party, and peace out.
5. Convenience Shopping: there is a decent grocery store even closer than the beach! It has everything you would need for quick meals and a full liquor section. Boom.
6. Washer/Dryer is located in its own building on the property. Which, had we had more people in our group, then it would have been easily accessible to everyone without having to mess w/ the main house. Just a small thing that any mother would appreciate ;)
Now for the overall:
Backyard Bliss - Erinn keeps the pool immaculate and previous guests seem to leave floats and noodles so we did not have to use ours. It's a saltwater pool that's the perfect temperature and the kids could open their eyes without any irritation all week.
Cooking w/ Karen - Holy lord, what a treat! I asked if Erinn knew of a chef who could come and cook some local fare for us for a night or two. Enter Karen and her helper, Annie. They are a friendly, talented duo that our children loved and loved to cook with. So, ask for Karen and her amazing jerk chicken and banana cake!

Our experience in this home was amazing.The owner was extremely sweet and went above and beyond.We choose her home to celebrate my birthday and the owner surprised me with a bottle of Centenario and some sweet treats to go with it. Her home is very clean and she has everything you can possibly think of to have a great memorable stay and if she doesn't have it just ask she's very attentive.
We had shared with her that our room ceiling fan wasn't blowing to good and she went out and purchased a fan right away.Expect to see geckos plenty of them and little critters after all you are in there home. Don't leave food out and clean up right away and you should be fine..We look forward to booking this home again real soon in the near future..

The house is absolutely beautiful. It is actually much better in person than in the photos. The bedrooms in the main house are comfortable and the beds were great. The dining room/living room were a beautiful spot to have dinner or just relax. The highlight of this property id the outdoor area. The pool was amazing. We spent hours in there. The patio has lots of space. The landscaping is amazing and we were able to see some wildlife. It rained a few days we were there but it was so nice to open the windows in the living room and listen to the rain. The property is very private and we loved that. The house is located close to everything. There are a few good restaurants nearby. Our favorites were the Gypsea Cafe for breakfast and the Rincon del Porteno. We were 3 people but this house is perfect for a big group. The main house has 2 bedrooms and a loft upstairs. Then there are two other casitas on property. Erinn was very attentive and was great the whole time we were there.
