About this house rental
The lodge backs up to a 2000 acre park called Warren Dunes that runs along Lake Michigan. The lodge is on the North end of the park with no parking lots on the lake so it is very private. The beach trail starts a few houses down at the end of Floral Lane. It is a beautiful hike to the beach over the dunes. The rooms in the lodge all open to a 66 foot long by 10 foot wide screened porch that houses the private hot tub and access to fenced yard and patio with fireplace pit. Also WBFPL in LR.

Partner and I stayed a few nights with our 2 dogs and had a great time visiting the Warren Dunes. Several trailheads are within walking distance. We found the dunes a bit challenging but the beautiful beach is so worth it!
The blue jay lodge has a wonderful hot tub on an enormous screened in porch.
The fully fenced yard was perfect for lounging by a fire with the dogs after a long day of hiking.

Property was very clean. Nice fenced yard for pets.
Hot tub was well maintained.
Trail to beach was treacherous for older folk.
Worth the money to drive to park area.
No check out instructions.
Overall nice experience and would rebook.

The house was everything our small family of 3 plus a dog could need! We were very comfortable in our rooms and the usage of the kitchen was great. We spent much time out on the long, covered porch and in the hot tub! Only complaint is proximity to Red Arrow Highway and noisy cars. However, the noise wasn't terrible at night when we were mainly at the house and it's location did make it easy to get to the grocery store and downtown Bridgman. House could use a deep clean, I wasn't by any means uncomfortable, but the inside of the drawers were dusty and shampoo/conditioner/shower gel in the shower didn't feel clean enough to use, luckily I brought my own. All in all, we would definitely visit again. Thank you for your quick responses and flexibility as well, Patti!

This was everything we wanted. The doorknob was broken upon our arrival & a simple message to the property manager it was fixed! We would stay here again in the future if ever in the area! Great getaway for us. My daughter loved the hot tub & it was perfect for us to be able to enjoy on a cool evening.

The Good: the remodel of this trailer is visually effective with some nice vacation touches like a nice soaking tub, a hot tub, a private , fully fenced outdoor patio, BBQ & fire pit. Proximity and access to Warren Dunes is brilliant.
The Bad: it is feet away from a busy highway and very near the interstate and a busy train line. It was not a peaceful getaway by any means.
The Ugly: stale smoke from many years permeates the property. The noise and ofor sent us packing the next morning. We’d have gone upon arrival if we hadn’t already spent most of day in the car already.

The place was pretty nice, the hot tub was amazing. The screens on the porch were a little damaged so bugs got in but overall it was a great place

This lodge is beautiful and quaint. Equipped with everything you need to have a wonderful stay. This rental is located perfectly next to the Dunes, while not being too far from Silver Beach, among others. Perfect location with all the privacy feel.

The house is beautiful and just far enough away from tourisim to be private and emjoyable, beds were comfortable . They even left laundry and dish washer machine soap, coffee and seasons but bring pepper😘 they didnt have that or oil mor did i expect them to. The only thing i would do is maybe adjust the images with the dunes because it makes it seem or myself and my guests took it as it was a entrance to trail was off at property a 10 min walk right off the property when infact its the end of the road and then a trail etc which was litterally not explored due to location

Great cottage near the lake!
My family had a great time staying at the property! It was very modern and updated inside with the charm of a screened in porch the length of the home and amazing fenced yard for our pup. Patti was very responsive and had lots of amenities. Weko Beach is a quick drive and I recommend arriving early since there isn’t much parking. We will definitely be back!

Close to Warren Dunes State Park!
We enjoyed our stay. Like most places, there were pros and cons. And the pros outweighed the cons for sure. The place was clean and was located basically right in Warren Dunes State Park. This made hiking a breeze without having to purchase a park passport. The hot tub was clean and very nice. The fenced in yard was great for our 4 legged traveling companion. As for the few cons, its located right next to the highway so there was a good amount of road noise, the internet wasn’t the fastest, the coffee machine didn’t work very well, and the ceilings were very low for my tall husband (maybe that is how high a trailer home ceiling typically is). Overall, we enjoyed our stay and Patti was a great host.

Excellent rental
This property was exactly as photos showed. Nicely updated property and really had everything we could have wanted. We spent a lot of time in the screened in porch, enjoyed the hot tub after hiking each day, and the fenced in yard was perfect for our pup. We appreciated the extra thoughtful touches like the Infusco coffee and a well stocked kitchen. There was so much to do in the area. Highly recommend Tabor Hill and Round Barn wineries; enjoy the walk on Mt Tabor that connects the two! We would definitely come back. Thank you!

Nice getaway
The rental unit is clean and has a nice sized yard for dogs. It is nice to be able to walk into Warren Dune Park for free, although I have to correct the host's estimate of how long the walk is from the house to the beach, it will take you more than 15 minutes. We meet in this area of Michigan at least once a year and we would be happy to stay in this rental again.

Little slice of heaven
My husband, daughter and I had a wonderful stay! The place is very clean which is much appreciated. Loved the close proximity to Warren Dunes State Park. The hike is well worth the views you get at the top of the dunes. Bring bug spray to avoid bug bites in the woods. The fenced yard was wonderful to play fetch with our dog.. Lots of restaurant choices within 15 minute radius. Plenty of wineries nearby. We truly enjoyed our stay..

Nice getaway but could be closer to a beach
This property was a nice getaway, but it is literally right on Red Arrow Highway, which is noisy. If you could just move the cottage away from the highway, it might be almost perfect. I say "almost," because you really have to drive to get to a beach. Walking to the beach through Warren Dunes park is do-able, but if you had to carry beach stuff, it is almost impossible because it's quite strenuous going up hills.

Very nice house, love the hot tub!
We enjoyed our stay at this rental for 3 nights. The hot tub was the highlight, and enjoying the wonderful breeze on the screened in porch. The place was very clean and comfortable - it was much better equipped with the “little stuff” than some other vacation rentals I’ve been to.
I do wish the description had been a little more clear about how long of a hike it is to the beach - it’s not just a simple walk through the woods, it’s a strenuous hike through dunes. However, the park is beautiful and the hike was worth it to get to Lake Michigan.
We also checked out Weko Beach in Bridgman which was nice, and took a drive down to Indiana Dunes National Park. This rental was a great place to rest between all our hikes and exploring.

Cozy! But not what I expected.
This property overall was super cozy and worked out well for what my friend and I were looking for. The photos for the listing are very misleading. I was expecting this home to be separated from others, and it is not. I also was expecting for this home to be closer to the water, and it was not. I also had trouble finding the property and getting inside due to not having any instructions available to me on how to do so.

Awesome
We had a great stay here! The hot tub was probably our favorite part. Also, loved having an enclosed yard for the dogs. The owner responded quickly to any questions we had!

I left the property soon after check in because the place ISN’T SAFE and it posts false advertisement on Vrbo.Safety- There is no lock on her main front door, only an open screen door. The door locks, once entered the porch, are all broken and outdated. I tried to lock the door but the handle was easily pulled out and the deadbolt fell off. The house was located right by the highway curbside with loud noise. False advertisement- In the listing, 4 out of 16 pictures are beach photo. In fact, the place is right by the highway and is nowhere near beach. Google map shows the walking distance to the nearby beach is 2.5 hours. In the listing description, it says 'a nice beach trail starts few houses down', whereas in the email she says the hike is ‘strenuous’ and the 'cliff' at dunes make it only possible to hike there but not back. Since I didn’t stay, I tried to contact the owner and Vrbo. Terrible customer service ever. I only get 1/3 of money back for my original 2 nights booking. So if you want to have a beach vacation, stay away!!!!

Good rental for local wine tasting.
The rental was very clean. Some things were outdated (furniture) while others were modern (kitchen appliances). The hot tub was the hi-light. It is a rough hike to the beach by foot. Drive to one of the public beaches, but very close to a few hiking trails right outside of rental. Do pay attention to instructions on the door handles. Ours fell off a few times but I believe the owner is aware and will replace when available. Great location for local wine tasting which is what we did most of our trip.

OK
Really liked the location and the fact that there was a fenced in yard since we never travel anywhere without our pooch. It would have been nice if the previous guests had picked up after their dog. We always do. Door handles are a funny thing but we figured them out. A detailed instruction sheet on how to operate the TV would have been handy. Overall we had a good time and would come back again.

Great Place for a Friends Getaway
Recently spent a weekend here with a group of friends. Great location, super close to the beautiful Warren Dunes. We loved the screened in porch, hot tub, large side yard, and amazing fire pit! Overall, we really enjoyed our experience and would highly recommend staying here.

A quick drive to the beach
First of all the owner is super responsive to any communication, which is why 5 stars for that and the check in process piece. The dogs enjoyed the fenced in backyard and the teenagers loved the hot tub. The washer and dryer were nice to have available, and the house had all the appliances needed. There were items needing repair (which I emailed about the first day, and the owner was already aware of), and we had trouble with the door knobs/locks the entire stay. The house is right off a busy highway which got way busier (including semi-truck noise at all hours) the last few nights of our stay, not sure what had changed from earlier in the week, but something to be aware of. Definitely not an easy walk to the dunes, so I recommend the 5 minute drive to Weko Beach ($10 a car for the day).

So great!
Stayed one night. We didn’t even go to the dunes/beach or use the outside fireplace due to storms. We had the nicest time there anyway! So clean, and so cozy! My friends had a lovely night. We really liked the town too!

A perfect place for a quite retreat.
My husband and I had a lovely time here. Everything was as it was pictured and listed. Very quite location as well. This place would be perfect for a small family wanting to spend time at the beach or wineries. We visited in late fall and really enjoyed the fireplace and hot tub.

Great Vacation
This was the perfect place for my family including our dog. We wanted to be close to Warren Dunes and you can’t be any closer. The property was great especially the outdoor hot tub. It was perfect weather at night to take a dip in the evening.
We loved that we could walk over to the trails and walk into the park and all the way to Lake Michigan. Some of the views were just spectacular.
Our dog is older so we drove into Warren Dunes and it was awesome to hang out for the day with the kids and the dog on the beach. A very seamless experience. Plus the dunes are awesome to see up close like that.
Bridgman is up the road and has some great places in town and is very easy to get to. We also drove up to St. Joe and back down to New Buffalo. Very easy to get to both and liked having the flexibility of being away from things but also a short drive away to get stuff.
Our only regret is that we didn’t stay longer - there’s so much to do. Something we’ll look forward to next year. Great place highly recommend staying.
