About this house rental
Enjoy your quiet family get-away in a lovely, newer construction beautifully decorated cape with central air. Just a couple-minute bike ride/walk from Pleasant st beach and nearby to Ridgevale and Red River beaches, all safe with warm water, waves, great shelling and wonderful tidal pools. This fabulous family vacation home includes a finished basement with a ping pong table, stereo and game table with chairs for the kids to escape to after a day at the beach or on one of those rare, rainy Cape summer days. Your back yard will be the Red River conservation area. Enjoy the morning visits of Mrs. Fox, along with constant sightings of, rabbits, squirrels, turkeys and chipmunks. Includes the 'Best outdoor shower in Chatham' with dual shower heads. Just a short drive to the most wonderful downtown on Cape Cod - Chatham, well-known as the best shopping and restaurants on the Cape or equally as lovely Harwich Port with many fabulous restaurants. It is also a very short drive to some wonderful fresh water lakes nearby. Downtown Chatham features their wonderful, family friendly Friday Night Band Concerts - a kids favorite. Enjoy the best-priced baseball anywhere when you watch the Chatham Anglers of the famous Cape Cod Baseball League. There is also a live theatre featuring the Drama Club from Ohio State University. Finally the bike path is close to the top of the street and you can either ride to downtown Chatham or head in the other direction towards Dennis. Truly the best and most reasonably priced vacation you can find in the Northeast.

This is our 3rd time staying at this location. We love the location of the property. Great house for our family of 3 visiting this time.
Embarrassed to admit we locked ourselves & the host was super responsive & had us back inside within quickly.

This is a very nice, well maintained and updated house in South Chatham. The location and neighborhood were perfect for us as was the short distance to a very nice beach on Pleasant street. The owner was very good to work with and he always provided great and timely information making the check in and check out process very simple and easy. Highly recommend staying at this house when looking to enjoy a very relaxing vacation Chatham.

The house was perfect for 4 adults. It's in a quiet neighborhood with a great restaurant (Pisces) and a nice beach (Forest Beach) within walking distance (both less than 1 mile).

We enjoyed our stay on Melody Lane in south Chatham. We enjoyed going to the restaurants in Harwich and the Red River Beach was very close. We spent one rainy day exploring Chatham. Both towns were easily accessible and the grocery stores were near by.
A few pointers are that the mattress in the master bedroom was tough on our older backs and you may want to bring a few dish towels. One of the beach chairs could be replaced as it was very rusted. Overall - we were very pleased with our stay.

Enjoyed our stay
This was a very nice property. Just note that you must bring your own linens which may be an issue if your traveling by air. We did find the mattress very hard and uncomfortable. The location was great and property was well stocked. We had an enjoyable stay.

Lovely home, great location
We have been visiting the Cape with our children for almost 20 years, this was our first time renting this home. The house was very clean, roomy, comfortable and in a nice quiet neighborhood. We enjoyed using the ping pong table and the quiet deck out back. Great owners, who were very responsive. The location is close to the beach, and easy proximity to both Chatham and Harwichport.

Excellent Cape House
Just a great house in an awesome location. Very private, and short drives to downtown Chatham and Harwichport. Pleasant St beach was a little to far a walk for our young children (5 and 3) but we drove the the beach multiple times on weekday afternoons (in August) and able to park every time.
House was clean, well cared for and more than enough space for our family of 4.
Gerry was excellent host. When we embarrassing my locked ourselves out with the keys on the kitchen counter, he was understanding and got the house unlocked within minutes.
Will definitely try to stay here again at future Cape Cod trips.

Wonderful Cape Cod getaway
We enjoyed our week in Chatham on Melody Lane! The quiet and peaceful property enabled us to relax and unwind while enjoying all that Chatham had to offer with beaches, shopping and golf all in close proximity! The home was lovely with plenty of space to spread out or spend quality time together! Highly recommend this lovely property!

Great place! Clean. Well stocked kitchen. Close to beach, and bike trails. Did not spend too much time outside due to 6-7 large turkeys who spent the week with us on the front lawn and back deck.

PERFECT
After 40+ years of vacationing in Chatham we found the PERFECT place to call Home away from Home. We are both retired and our two daughters and 1 grandchild visited for one week apiece. We all agreed that it is the BEST. No changes necessary. We will be back.

Fantastic!
This house was perfect for our family of 4 vacation in Chatham! It is beautiful and well maintained! It was super clean when we arrived and offers so many wonderful amenities (central A/C, washer & dryer, a grill and the kitchen has everything)! It is located in a quiet neighborhood, which is wonderful. We enjoyed dinners out on the deck. The owners, Gerry and Cindy, are great to work with and are super responsive to any questions we had. The house is a short drive to Ridgevale Beach (which is perfect for our young daughters) and close to downtown Chatham. We are looking forward to our return trip next summer!

Excellent Experience
My family just returned from a fantastic week at this wonderful house. As lovely as it is in pictures, the house is even more charming and homey in person. As a rental, it is very accommodating: attractive, organized, and well equipped (having on hand everything from wine glasses to a beach cart). It was extremely comfortable for this family with a small child. The owner was very accessible by email and text and, though this was a rental situation, I felt as if we were being hosted by a very gracious host. We rented a wagon and took our toddler on the 4/10-mile walk through beautiful, shady residential neighborhoods to Pleasant Street Beach, a small public beach that actually felt quite private. The house is only a six minute drive to the highly family friendly Ridgevale Beach, with tide pools and kayak and canoe rentals. It's a 13-minute drive into Chatham's gorgeous town center, and another 4 minutes to Chatham Lighthouse Beach. We just returned and can't wait to go back.

Charming Cape Home
We had a fantastic week in Chatham and this home exceeded our expectations. Served as the perfect base for our Cape adventures. Great size for our family, very clean & comfortable, and well appointed. Nice location in a quiet neighborhood just outside the town of Chatham, yet just a few minutes from downtown and numerous beaches. Owner Gerry was extremely attentive and helpful - thank you! We have VRBO'd over a dozen properties the last 10 years and he is the best owner I have experienced. Highly recommend catching a Chatham Anglers baseball game - town ballpark is 5 minutes from the house. Drinks on the porch @ Chatham Bars Inn - a must. We also enjoyed a day trip to Nantucket - ferry departs from Harwich Port, just a few minutes west of the house (look for Groupon Summer 2014). I believe that Chatham is the perfect spot for a Cape Cod vacation, and this home is exceptional.

fantastic property
This was a really lovely home which was clean and well maintained. Our family of 5 found the home spacious, and very well suited to us. It is on a quiet street and located conveniently close to the beach. The central ac was great on the hot days.
The home was as advertised, all the descriptions in the ad were accurate.
The owner was wonderful and was very accommodating to our circumstances.
We would certainly rent this house again, and would highly recommend this property.
