About this house rental
Unique 1840's 6 bedroom farmhouse with rocking-chair porch, original wide floorboards, oak beams, comfortable bedrooms and a 1100' modern, octagonal, airy, chef's kitchen. Please let us know if you'd like to be connected with our team of provate chefs for an exquisite dining-in experience. The house sits atop a knoll overlooking 20 acres of rolling pasture, barns and swimming/fishing pond. An additional cottage for up to four can be rented additionally if needed. The barn residents are currently chickens, goats, and a friendly farm dog. They all enjoy visitors. And you can have fresh organic eggs for breakfast.
The house has an automatic backup generator, so that even power outages will not stop the fun. The grounds are carefully treated against ticks.
A perfect getaway for family and friends, the house features a fully equipped, 1,100 sq ft. octagonal gourmet kitchen, complete with professional 8-burner stove, double oven, and an extra steam oven. An espresso machine, Italian tiled floor (radiant heating) and dining table for twelve. If outdoor cooking is more your style a large stainless barbeque gas grill sits waiting for you out back, along with a giant trampoline, and granite ping pong table. A quiet yoga room and a peloton bike are available.
In the house, If you ever leave the kitchen, you will find a living room with cozy couches, perfect for conversation or watching one of the hundreds of channels offered by a second Spectrum TV. Separate library for quiet time, with built in bookshelves, pretty desk, easy chair and queen size sleeper sofa and a propane fireplace. There is a pool table and plenty of games and puzzles for all ages, and a digital piano.
All six bedrooms come with fresh linens and comforters. There is even a bedroom on the ground floor, with a bathroom, for those less excited about stairs.
The house is part of a unique farm, with an old Broadway summer stock theater no longer used professionally. Professional musicians can rent the space, or ask to practice the 9' Boesendorfer on the stage there. Mostly, though, this is a peaceful place for bird and wildlife watchers. Acres of manicured lawns lead you to private groupings of Adirondack chairs perfect for a morning coffee or watching the sunset. There are plenty of places to stroll – perhaps a walk around the pond to see how the kids are making out on their fishing expedition… a cocktail in the vegetable garden… a game of bocce on the back lawn… poolside picnic… or a relaxing evening in the private 4-person hot tub.
In the warmer months (JUNE, JULY, AUGUST) enjoy the fifty-foot fenced in in-ground swimming pool. The pool house is fully equipped with a bathroom, a refrigerator, and plenty of seating and toys for long days of relaxation.
There is a granite ping pong table open all year, and a huge netted trampoline in the fenced in back yard of the house. A pool table is located inside our home, as well. From Spring through Fall, there is a volleyball/badminton net set for a fun game or two
The ¾-acre pond is a great place to fish, swim, or paddle across in the 3-4-person rowboat. We provide fishing rods and tackle. Sitting beside the pond is a stone fire pit that is just waiting to roast all the marshmallows you crave. In the winter, if the season is cold enough, bring your ice skates and travel on the pond.
PLEASE UNDERSTAND - WE DO NOT PERMIT GATHERINGS OR PARTIES ON OUR PROPERTY WITHOUT PRIOR ARRANGEMENT.
Dogs are allowed, but you must notify us before bringing them, including whether they shed. Some guests are allergic to dog hair, and this requires special cleaning. 2 dogs is the maximum for a reservation. If you bring more, there will be a fee. They cannot be permitted on the beds, and the yard has to be cleaned after them -- we supply doggie bags. If we have to clean up after your dogs, we will have to charge you for this.
The property has a resident dog, a young, child-friendly, silly Irish Setter who will want to play. There is an invisible fence that prevents him from approaching the guest house.
There is absolutely no smoking inside the house! Receptacles have been provided on both sides of the house for proper disposal.
Only the guests that the reservation is made for are permitted to sleep in the house. An additional guest cottage with two bedrooms is available. Please inquire.
You will find a guide book in the house that lists all restaurants, shops and amenities in the area. We are not a hotel, but concierge service is available as an additional expense, paid directly to our property manager. She can arrange restaurant reservations, assist with directions, appointments, catering meals, at a charge of $50 an hour. She will be happy to help.

The center of the charming Village of Rhinebeck is less than 5 minutes away and the Amtrak train to NYC or Albany is less than 10 minutes away.
Nestled in the heart of the Hudson Valley, Rhinebeck has something for everyone. Two hours from New York City by car or by Amtrak, the village has a small town feel with cute shops and a wonderful vibe. With the Culinary Institute only 15 minutes away, the whole region is peppered with great restaurants, farmer's markets and local meat and produce shops. There are countless parks where you can take a casual stroll over looking the Hudson or do some of the most serious hiking and rock climbing on the East Coast. Rich in history, the Hudson River Valley has historical sites, mansions to tour and old towns and villages, some dating back three hundred years. You can get a taste of country life with a hayride or pick-your-own farms or explore nearby places like Woodstock, Hudson, Millbrook and Kingston. For the kids, there is the Old Aerodrome, which has antique airplanes on display and air shows. For older kids, horse farms, sportsman’s clubs, golf courses, and dozens of streams and lakes for fishing surround Rhinebeck. Bard College and the Fisher Center for the Arts is only ten minutes away.

While we had quite a few rainy days the place was great. Beds were so comfy and clean. Irene the owner who is on site was so friendly and accommodating. Molly from property management was great with communication. Some of the details need to be updated but overall the stay was awesome and everyone had a great time. Pool was huge and so nice for the kids!!! Def recommend.

This property was perfect for our girls weekend in Rhinebeck! The house was spacious, clean, and the kitchen was awesome for making a large group meal. The property was absolutely beautiful- very serene and relaxing. Rhinebeck is less than 10 min away which was a great outing. The property manager and owner were so responsive and great to work with. We had so much fun and would recommend for a large group!

Had a wonderful time at this lovely farmhouse. Plenty of bedrooms and bathrooms to accommodate a large group.
Our 3 1/2- and 5-year granddaughters enjoyed the farm animals and the trampoline, they couldn't get enough of either. Tim (farm hand) was so nice that he brought the girls into the pen to feed the chickens.
The house had everything you could imagine keeping a large group entertained as well as many different porches for outside gathering. Bar none, one of the most well equipped and an extremely roomy kitchens we have seen, for a large group of people.
A memorable easter egg hunt that spread through several rooms and ended in the music/library room.
The huge Armoire in the kitchen is breath taking. You can't find furniture like that anymore.
All around, just a wonderful place for a large get together.

I first need to apologize for the very belated review, I thought i did this and just realized i did not! We booked this house with our children and parents for my son's graduation weekend, and I am so glad we did! This is a wonderful and spacious set up for an extended family get away. The kitchen is to die for, the outdoor space massive. Everything was spotless and in good working order. The checkin and checkout process was smooth. I would hightly recommend staying here!

This is our second year at this house and it was just as good this time as the first year.
It's well appointed, comfortable, and well located.

This home was the perfect setting for a fun and laidback wedding with friends. The property exceeded our expectations-- the pond and wildflowers were gorgeous, and there are lots of amenities outdoors as well (two fire pits, trampoline, ping pong table, etc). As for cleanliness: my skin is really sensitive to detergents/cleaners and certain materials, but they use high-quality ones and really nice bed linens which I've found is not common at rental houses. Very comfortable beds. Lots of bedrooms and bathrooms, and a large kitchen for gathering. Easily accessible to Rhinebeck downtown. The property manager is on-site in a separate house and some workers for the barn, but we didn't interact and everything felt very safe. I don't have enough good things to say about Irene's place. If you're on the fence, book it!

We were a group of friends attending a 40th anniversary at Vassar College, and this venue was an absolutely perfect place for any large friend or family group. The pool was magnificent, and the house was both incredibly spacious and yet charming.

House and grounds are lovely. Drapery stained and minor repairs needed with doorknobs and latches but overall a lovely farmhouse with lovely owners/caretakers.

We have just had a wonderful week catching up with family. The house is well equipped for all ages. This was our first time travelling with our twin boys (under 2) and I was pleasantly surprised to find an array of toys and equipment that made our stay very easy. They certainly had a lot of fun.
Thank you to Kelly too for the thoughtful suggestions on how to entertain the boys!

Stayed here during the winter with some friends and family for a 30th birthday party. The house and property were gorgeous, in addition to being well-stocked with towels and toiletries. The hot tub was a surprise hit, and we enjoyed relaxing in it while it was 20* outside. Rhinebeck Village is also adorable and a very short car ride away, and the proximity made it easy to spend an afternoon in town & easy to pick up dinner in the evening. Emily was also very responsive to questions beforehand, and there's apparently a property manager who lives on-premises, which was nice to know even though we didn't need to contact them. We'd happily stay here again in the future!

A great gathering place in a great destination
Our family vacations with a few other families for a week each year in a different location. This property, the surrounding towns and and our experience with the property manager made this experience our best yet. The house/property exceeded our expectations for beauty and hospitality. The hilltop pool was clean and picturesque. The porches, pond and paths were all lovely and well manicured. The great room/kitchen is every bit as nice as the photos, and the house felt like it was designed for a group vacation. It was evident the owners took pride in providing a nice experience to their guests. They went out of their way to make a warm welcome and to be considerate.
Rhinebeck itself is beautiful, and we could have spent two weeks there with all of the destinations nearby, including Poughkeepsie Pedestrian Walkway, Poets Walk, FDR Home, West Point, Rhinebeck Aerodome to name a few.
While 110% satisfied, if we had to improve any aspect of this house, we'd improve lighting in the great room at night. We would also recommend that guests be cautious with old hardware on interior door locks and cautious with water. Shower controls are very sensitive. We loved the house though and would recommend it to anyone.

Loved Our Stay at this Beautiful House!! Amazing amenities!!!
We enjoyed our stay so much!! The space is truly awesome! Beautiful amenities and so much nature! The only two things we didn’t love was the water pressure, which was quite awful, and we didn’t realize how close it was to another property. It felt like we were in their backyard a lot of the time and felt a little intrusive but they were totally awesome and we had no problems but just letting you know it felt very close. We would totally come back this place is really great!! Highly recommended.

Charming but old farmhouse with an infestation of lady bugs and water bugs.
Background: My family including 8 adults and 7 children staying for a long weekend this winter. We were looking for a property that could accommodate us all and was suitable for kids. We found this property to be below our expectations primarily due to a bug infestation. The pictures in the posting are accurate with the exception of the theater space which is reserved for weddings and not a part of the rental.
Pro’s: The kitchen is great. It is the most recently renovated space in the house and you can tell. It is a very large space and great for everyone to come together. The house is really beautiful in a traditional sense, it has a lot of character. The property including the pool, pond, and large amount of land with fire pit seems like it would be great for summer visits. The property management team of Nick and Danielle were friendly and responsive and came to fix an issue we were having with the bathroom and sliding door.
Con’s: There was an infestation of lady bugs and waterbugs in the house, especially on the third floor in the small bedroom to the point where our kids did not feel comfortable sleeping on the third floor and we were unable to use that space. We called the property management team to report this issue but they did not have any solution. They acknowledged that there were lady bugs and informed us that they have an exterminator but the only advice was to keep the windows closed. Again they were nice but did not help us with the infestation.
Conclusion: I would not stay here again with my family. The infestation of lady bugs and waterbugs was disappointing and although the management company was friendly, they had no way to address this issue for us.
