Took family on the polar express and stayed 2 nights at this lovely cabin.

This property should not be on vrbo it gives the site a bad name. The host is very slow to response and very heartless. Despite the fact that the house was never clean spider web and hundreds of dead and live wasp mostly in the living room, dead roaches in the cubboard. My son got bitten by wasp and I told the host and he did nothing. I call vrbo about it they also try to call the host. I took some many photos of the wasp in the house we were able to kill most of them so we could have stayed in the house since it was Christmas and we had no where else to go plus the road to get to the cabin was nerve racking, steep and foggy. We keep saying the host will come but no one showed up. There is so many I could write that was wrong in this cabin. The only thing that kept us going was the veiw of the mountains. Please do not book this pleace it horrible

Party complained about steepness of drive to house. Overall everyone loved staying here. Description should say three full baths rather than two.
3.0 / 5.0
The drive up to the cabin is very steep with several sharp turns and a one lane road. We managed fine, but felt the description could have mentioned that. The view was beautiful, though.
The cabin was nice, but there were a few maintenance issues.
The knobs on the stove would turn on with the slightest bump. Felt it was a safety issue especially with children, had to check frequently that they weren't left on.
The shower in the basement level could not be used because the door was broken and would not open.
There is a washer and dryer, which is nice. However, the washer barely trickled when filling. We had to use a pitcher to help it fill so that it didnt take 3 hrs, especially since it was required to launder towels before leaving, which was fine, but frustrating and time consuming.
Also, not mentioned in the listing is that you either have to take your trash with you or pay an additional 25 bucks to have it removed.
But overall nice cabin in a pretty location.

The view is really absolutely beautiful. When you’re not used to it, the trip up and down the mountain was a real eye-opener.
The host was very helpful and really easy to communicate with
Just minutes from the casino and if you have little ones you’ll enjoy Santa land.

If you have a large truck, re-think driving it to this location. You will be making 3 pt turns going up the narrow mountain road. Small cars no problem! That being said, once you arrive it's great. There was not a number on the house to let you know for sure you were at the right place, but it is directly across from the Gadwall aterrace sign. The rooms were spacious, view was great. I wish we could have spent more time here honestly. All in all it was great. The cleaning fee seemed pretty high for what was expected of you at checkout and they had not deep cleaned for what seemed like awhile. It wasnt terrible but seemed like house had set vacant for awhile so it was dusty. Not a deal breaker though. Great place!

Great views and pleanty of games for kids/teenagers. Would be nice if the TV was upgraded to a smart TV then it would be the perfect place. Still vary nice and definitely plan to stay again.

This cabin was amazing! The gated community was private and peaceful. The roads were all paved, which is perfect (there were a few sharp turns, but since it's all paved, it wasn't bad). The kids were entertained the whole time with the pool table and the fire pit. We couldn't figure out the fire place, but that may be because we're Floridians and are not used to gas fireplaces! The only complaint I have was that this cabin was very loud. Oddly enough, it creaked all day and all night. Although my kids weren't bothered by it, it kept us up the first couple nights. We did get used to it, though! And the upstairs toilet wouldn't flush very well, but after plunging it for a couple days, we were able to pull a toothbrush out of the drain, which helped a bit! Overall, the location is PERFECT! We went to Gatlinburg one day and Asheville the next. It's so centrally located that you can go anywhere easily!

Lovely home, once we figured out the lock box. Would love to go in the Fall.

Cabin is centrally located and easy to get to destinations, views are perfect as cabin sits on top of a mountain. Beds were very comfortable. Drive up is single lane with cut backs and should be expected for a cabin at the top of a mountain. Only a few pull offs for passing cars. Best advice was to arrive during daylight at least on initial visit. Gated community which is nice, worth the price.

To say the road to this cabin is steep in a huge understatement. The road is only wide enough for one car but it’s the only way in and out of the neighborhood. You just pray you don’t meet another car when you go in and out. There is no lighting and the hairpin turns are bad enough we made sure all plans had us home before dark. As for the cabin itself it is in need of lots of tlc. Rotten boards inside and out so watch your step. On top of all this the owner charges a cleaning fee but expects you to do all the laundry strip beds and take the trash to a recycle center about 15 minutes away. If you have to do ALL the cleaning then what is the cleaning fee for? Oh and if you fail to do these things he charges you extra $25 for each thing you don’t do. Ridiculous demands. The only thing that was accurate was the view was beautiful.

The property was in a great location, but very steep drive up. Overall the cabin and owners were great. A couple of beds did seem to have dirty sheets, but other than that great property.

Pros -
The view of the Smoky Mountains is spectacular. The location is good. The kitchen is well equipped. We really enjoyed the pool table. The beds are comfortable. Neighbors up the road are very friendly.
Cons -
I would strongly suggest arriving before dark since the very narrow road is steep and includes hair pin turns. Directions given should include street names since there are street signs on the way up. The house number is not visible at all. The large feature windows need cleaning. The large door leading to the deck does not open. There are only three dining chairs. There is no Wi-Fi. The futon in the living room is very hard and uncomfortable. The cleaning fee is high considering you have to take all the sheets and towels down to the laundry room and haul away the garbage with you upon check out, which is an inconvenience when checking out on Sunday and the place is closed.

Beautiful location, enjoyed the view so much!! We all enjoyed the location of the house, the amenities, and the overall atmosphere of the house. We will visit again. We were a little bummed there was no hot tub, but everything else was wonderful!!

Had a little trouble finding the property but was totally our fault for not checking the attachments in our email with the actual address.

We were very happy with our accommodations. It was very quiet and the view is amazing. We would not stay here in the Winter because the road is narrow and steep. Some large vehicles may not be able to make the turns. We have a F150 and had to make 3pt turns around some of the curves. The road is paved the whole way which is helpful with the incline. We would stay again. Also it's a great location if you're visiting Bryson City, Cherokee, or Sylva.

We were 6 of us who stayed at this property and all of us absolutely loved the house. Early morning and evening views were breathtaking. The pool table was such a plus... absolutely loved it.
Thanks for such a great place :)..
We were not prepared for non-wifi but it worked out for the good ..we were able to connect with each other better away from technology.
It would have been good if there were some additional amenities like coffee powder and body wash. But we managed to get those from nearby stores.

******** fantastic view **********
Enjoyed having my family together here and we all enjoyed it. I would not come in the winter. Drive up and down would scare me. Would consider coming back.
No internet and sometimes cell service. pro and a con. Needed to get away.
Cons ***major issues **medium issues * minor issues
*** Windows dirty
*** Propane for grill lasted 2 meals.
*** Guests clean dishes.
*** Guests Takes sheets and towels off beds and Takes to laundry room in basement.
*** Broken door to wrap around porch. Has been broken for a year reading the reviews.
* Drive up to the cabin.
*** Do not give directions on where to take trash.
*** Previous Guests trash awaited us. Animals had gotten into it.
* Terrible pillows.
* No internet and sometimes cell service. Pro and a con. Nice to have when searching for directions to places.
** Dirty grill, actually had a fire and lucky I was sitting outside with the grill when I was warming it up. Had to clean what look like years of grease in it.
** Couch downstairs was better than the main room fold down futon. Futon needs replaced.
** Ice cream and pops left from Previous Guests. Could be a plus if you do not care about health reasons. I don't like to use others coffee, condiments, food, oil, etc because I do not trust they were not tampered with.
Question - what is the cleaning fee for if the managers do not clean or fix anything?

The house was very nice but hated the road going up to it. Not sure I could have driven up it but my husband did a good job. I tried to call once because TV would not work. we finally figured out that it was hooked up to DVD player and not set back to TV. I never got a return call. It is a nice place but not somewhere we would try to stay again.

Overall, it was a nice and beautiful cabin. Some repairs could be addressed like the door out to the patio instead of putting up a sign for emergency use only.
The drive up to the cabin was scary but once we got there, the views were great. We left a day early because they were calling for 4 inches of snow. Although it would have been pretty, just didn't want to risk sliding off an embankment on the way back down to the main road.
We never found the garbage place. Please list directions. Wound up taking trash with us.
The basement shower could have been cleaner.
The kitchen could stand more bowls.
We all DID have a wonderful time though.

We loved staying at this adorable and cozy mountain home. The view from the deck was stunning, and the location was close to everything we wanted to do in Cherokee. We can’t wait to stay here again!

The overall stay was great. Only complaint I have is not enough TVs in the place. Kids took over the only 2 in the place. Need 📺 in the bedrooms.

We had a great time. The drive to the house took some getting used to. It's a big house we were a group of 8 adult's, we had plenty of room. Everything you needed was there. A gorgeous view all the way around the house. I don't agree with paying a $25 fee, if you didn't want to take your trash off, but over all I was very satisfied.

Wonderful cabin with great views
4.0 / 5.0
Overall it is a nice cabin but I would highly recommend the owners stay overnight and realize the issues present. The main doors onto the deck to see the view states to only use "in case of emergency". Numerous cabinets in the kitchen with malfunctioning hinges. Made the mistake of using the jets in the tub in the master bathroom and so much dirt came out. You are also charged money ($50) if you don't take your trash with you but while we were there, a trash service came by on Monday. This should be something you add as a convenience to the people staying as many will be coming in from out of state. The microwave was malfunctioning and there was a note from the cleaning lady explaining that it was unplugged for this reason. The DVD player was not hooked up in the living room and despite troubleshooting for about an hour, could not get it to work. We did contact the owners who kept referring to it as a DVR so we gave up on getting it attached. Lots of bug corpses in the windows, tops of cabinets, basement floors. The ride up is extremely steep and not for those afraid of heights. Overall, I would encourage the owners to hire somebody to come and make a lot of little repairs to the place and especially add WiFi. Cut the deck boards to the right size-makes the deck look bad when you have newer deck boards longer than the rest. The home phones can be removed and I would recommend adding a full length mirror in the master bedroom and removing the table from the already very narrow hallway. The master bedroom had a fabulous bed and bedding. There is a broken bench at the end of the bed that needs to be thrown out. No travel shampoo or conditioner so if you are getting there late at night, remember to bring that with you. Lots of little annoyances add up for those used to properties managed by those who pay attn to detail.

We had a wonderful family trip to this cabin and the view alone is absolutely beautiful. It’s quite the drive up to the cabin with a narrow road and several hairpin turns but once you’re up top, it’s worth it! Everything was as described with a few extras in regards to spices, coffee, etc. The owners were very specific with everything including checkout; they were also quick to respond to messages.
The only issues we encountered included no bath soap in any of the bathrooms for showers and some mildew on the shower curtain upstairs. As some of the other reviews mentioned, a good cleaning of the windows would add even more to the beautiful view of the mountains. Other than that it was a great place and perfect for traveling to Bryson City and the casino.

loved the view and the location was great for our plans. The drive up the mountain was a little scary, but it will add to our future memories! All told we would recommend it highly.

This property was very beautiful. The peaceful privacy that this property provided was everything. Friendly neighbors up the road who invited my spouse and I to watch the sunset. The view in the morning was spectacular. My hubby and I brought a few things from our home to cook and have a few things for meals but this home had everything we needed. This was beautiful and much needed and we will be back.

We stayed here for 2 nights, views are breathtaking and the cabin is cute and cozy. I don’t like that I paid a ridiculous cleaning fee but am expected to strip beds take the linen to the laundry room, do the dishes and wash and dry towels and take my own garbage off so for those reasons I won’t book here again. Also the door leading out the back to the porch is broke it took us forever to get it to shut right. That was annoying as well but it’s like 10 mins from the casino. Also I just want to throw this out there is nothing absolutely nothing to do or places to eat in this little town.

Beautiful veiw in a very spacious and cozy cabin! Great for a family.

The beds were all very comfortable. The cooking supplies were adequate. Bring your own seasonings but there is salt and pepper. The lock box is a little tricky. The 11 on the house is very hard to see. It's a shame the large doors from the living room on to the deck don't work but that wasn't too bad. The views are great and hanging with friends without a lot of distractions this wonderful

We had a lovely trip at this cabin and the absolute best part was the beautiful view! I enjoyed sitting out on the deck each morning to drink my coffee. It was nice and roomy and the beds were comfortable. We especially enjoyed having the pool table downstairs to play during our downtime. However please be aware that this cabin is at the top of a mountain, up a very long winding single lane road with no lights and numerous hairpin turns. We arrived after dark the first night and we were all terrified that we were going to drive off the road! After that harrowing experience, we planned to end our activities each day before dark so that we could see on our way up the mountain. Would definitely be a beautiful place to stay in the fall when the leaves are changing.

The property is exactly as advertised & the view is incredible!
Pros-the view was the best part for me, you can see several different angles of the mountains. The cabin is beautiful & spacious. The master bedroom, bath & walk-in closet were huge! It is very equipped with everything you need as far as dishes, pots/pans, washer/dryer, blow dryer. There were paper towels, toilet paper, 1 trash bag & a small dish soap, if you’re stay is very long, you’ll need more. There is laundry detergent for the towels but if you’re doing your own laundry, you’ll need more. If you plan to use the dishwasher, you’ll want to bring some detergent. The kids really enjoyed the pool table & the reception was great on both the tv in the living room & the basement. There is a high chair & a pack n play if you have little ones. The wrap around porch was beautiful as well, a great spot to take in the view.
Cons-the owner was not very quick to respond, before our stay I had emailed & called without a response. He did however communicate with me a week or so before we were to arrive that they had no water to the cabin & the well had to be replaced. He was quick to let me know that it was fixed & that we could stay at the property. I emailed again once before & once after we arrived & never got a response. No big deal, fortunately it wasn’t anything important.
The water had yellow color (I noticed in the bathtub) I’m not sure if that’s typical for well water or if things were still settling from the well being replaced.
The roads leading to the cabin, once you get inside the gated area, are narrow & steep! I can’t even imagine driving on them in the winter. Fortunately we never encountered a vehicle going the opposite direction or someone would have been backing up. I guess that’s the price you pay for the amazing view!
The trash either has to be taken with you or you can pay $25 to leave it in the trash container outside. When we arrived, the container was completely full, apparently from previous guests so we had no choice but to take the trash with us.
The futons (1 upstairs, 1 downstairs) weren’t very usable for an adult though they might be fine for a child.
We had a great stay & I would highly recommend this cabin to anyone considering staying.
