Awesome

A very large home right on the ocean. Plenty of room for separate gatherings, or being all together. Unfortunately, there were a few things that were in need of repair (curtain wouldn’t open/close, shower door was difficult to open and close, leaking pipes from one bathroom,) limited number of glasses( only 3 wine glasses).
Loved the amenities in Wild Dunes
6.0 / 10.0
Because some repairs were taking place, the attic access in master bath was not properly closed resulting in heat escaping. Maintenance came to cover the opening with cardboard however when repairmen came to determine why there was no hot water, the covering was removed and not replaced, and the master bathroom could not be warmed. There was no hot water in the master bath shower.
We had to request maintenance to install slats in the top bunk bed because it was unsafe with only 3 slats installed and the mattress was falling through the bed. Additionally, mattress on upper bed was so thick that the side rail would not keep someone from falling.
Kitchen hot water was very inconsistent.
Kitchen drawers and cabinets were unclean. Frying pans were in very bad shape with Teflon pans peeling. Only two plastic bowls were available for mixing ingredients. Only one acrylic salad bowl was available and was totally broken and cracked on the bottom. The mixers would only work on high speed. Both beaters kept falling out of the mixer. Some of the cookie sheets are rusting. Only about 10 to 12 drinking glasses, some 4 to 6 glasses so tiny not for water. We found one glass over with mildew inside, drinking glasses for alcohol all mismatched and only 4.
There were no serving utensils available. There were no serving platters available.
There should be enough kitchen accessories for cooking meals for 16 people. We had to buy aluminum disposable baking sheets and pans. We had to buy

This house was perfect for our group trip. It was right on the beach and close to everything in Wild Dunes. We would come back for sure!

The location of the property is awesome. The house is well laid out with comfortable sized rooms throughout. It has a lot of potential, but it is in need of some updating and deep cleaning. Access to all of the amenities, especially the elevator, seems like a reasonable request for the rental rate.

Girls Trip
Couple notes- one toilet seat was broken , and management needs to
provide more dishwasher pods and trash bags. Just minor points for a spectacular home and breathtaking experience.

Beachside perfection
This house was wonderful! There is so much space to spread out. It was in great shape and looks just like the pictures. We had such a great time with family and appreciated the huge kitchen so we could all cook and eat together.
The only downside was the exterior decking is pretty deteriorated so there are tons of splinters and nails. We suggest keeping flip flops or sandals outside the door to slip on when you go out.
The screened in porch was our favorite hang out spot! Its sheltered from the weather but looks right over the ocean. This home is amazing!

Owners need to check the property for beginning of season issues
We rented this property for my adult children to enjoy a pre wedding celebration for our youngest daughter. We consisted of 8 adults, and 5 grandchildren ages 8,5,4,2 and 9 months. The property was spacious and the layout was perfect for our group.
Safe seating in the outdoors , dining area and sun room were issues. Bar stools out side had weathered and my husband actually fell thru a seat. He is not obese...Upon inspection we noticed that the metal joints holding all the bar stools had weathered and weakened. (4 SEATS) The property manager was quick to remove them and new stools were brought the next day. The seats in the main floor sunroom were also weathered . My 2 year old grandson fell thru the seat and This alerted us to the problem. When the management came to replace the bar stools, the gentleman was kind enough to return and replace the webbing on the 5 chairs in the sunroom. (5 SEATS) The dining room chairs had some legs loose and needed tightened. (2 SEATS) The sunroom screen was very torn and and the door to the porch was hard to open because of weathering. FOR AS MUCH AS WE PAID FOR THE RENTAL, I AM DISAPPOINTED THAT THERE WAS NOT A BEGINNING OF SEASON SAFETY CHECK ON SEATING....
The other situation was the kitchen. The gas stove had problems with the burners. It was a 6 burner cooktop but we could only get 1 and Occasionally 2 to light. This was a major inconvenience, particularly when cooking our meals. The oven only had 1 rack and someone had left a mess in the oven prior to us renting. It made an awful smell when we first used the oven. There were alot of lids but only one glass mixing bowl. Food prep was difficult for lack of bowls...I have rented many places over the years. I feel that the owners should have taken a before season assessment for safety issues particularly with seating. THe kitchen oven and cooktop need attention or replaced. THe kitchen dishes and food prep items need checked. This rental is in a beautiful location, the layout was perfect....it just needs TLC. the management was accessible but it could not fix the kitchen issues. If you plan to do alot of meal prep like we did I would make sure the kitchen situation was addressed,

Great family home!
Upstairs deck - rough, lots of nails and splinters.
Nice big kitchen - but ice maker “not for guest usage”. Home was terrific for large family.
