About this house rental
World class surfing, fishing, and kite boarding. The house is 60 feet from the beach. The view is incredible! House rents Sunday to Sunday only.
Sip your drink and enjoy the majestic view of the ocean from the deck of Anna’s Beach Cottage. Forget something in the house after walking down to the beach, not a problem. Our home is only steps away from the ocean.
When entering our house, you will be awakened by the colors of shells and the ocean. Our main living area is a place to sit back and soak up the view. We know that eating out is fun but sometimes it’s equally fun to relax and stay in with family and friends after a full day at the beach. Our house is fully equipped with kitchen gear to make cooking a breeze.
The bedrooms are all comfortably furnished making for a great night’s sleep. We even have a portable crib and high chair for the little ones.
So enjoy the beauty of the Outer Banks from one of the best views you can get….from Anna’s Beach Cottage. Our home is fondly named after my great grandmother, Anna, from Vietri Sul Mare in Italy.
Sleeping arrangements:
one king bed
one queen bed
one queen over queen bunk bed
We are located on Hatteras Island in the small fishing village of Rodanthe. We are 30 minutes south of Nags Head. Hatteras Island is a fisherman's paradise. The Cape Hatteras National Seashore continually makes the top ten beaches in the United States.
Surfing and Kite Boarding...
Rodanthe is the east coast surfing and kite boarding capital. You can easily watch the surfers from our deck. If you like kite boarding, you have arrived. The Pamlico Sound is a great spot to board, or even in the ocean if you're an expert. Hatteras Island is a barrier island off the coast of North Carolina which makes our island a narrow one. You can see the Pamlico Sound from our deck and take in a sunset.
History....
If you're a history buff, you will certainly enjoy your visit here. Our coast is called the "Graveyard of the Atlantic" because of the numerous shipwrecks over the years. The coast is difficult to navigate, therefore, the first coast guard station is located right down the road from us..Chicamacomico Lifesaving Station. You can also drive 30 minutes south on Route 12 to the village of Buxton and climb the Cape Hatteras Lighthouse. The outer banks has several lighthouses to visit. There is a museum on shipwrecks and pirates (Blackbeard) in Hatteras village. There are many artifacts in the outer banks from shipwrecks. The outer banks is also well known for the first flight of the Wright Brothers over the giant sand dunes at Jockey's Ridge. The Wright Brothers Memorial is a landmark for aviation history.
Nature and Bird Watching....
Pea Island National Wildlife Refuge is a ten minute drive from our house. It's refuge for local and seasonal birds. There is a ranger on staff during business hours. They have nature hikes and discussions throughout the season. This area is known for sea turtle rescue. There are often sightings of loggerheads and other turtles.
Fishing...
Oregon Inlet Fishing center is the hub of fishing charters. The Oregon Inlet connects the sound with the Atlantic Ocean. Charters are popular because the gulfstream is only a few miles from the inlet. On some days you might even see the shrimp boats coming in when you cross over the Bonner Bridge. Charters are available all year round. The fishing center is a great place to go around 4:30 to 5:00 p.m. and watch the fishermen bring in their catch for the day.
Kid's Stuff....
Of course there's our great beach, but if you want to venture out...there are other things to do. You can take the children to the sound side where it's very shallow with little waves. The incline into the water is very gradual which is fun for the kids. North Carolina Aquarium is 30 minutes away in the town of Manteo. There are also small amusement areas 30 minutes north of us which have miniature golf and go carts.
Dining...
If you are looking for a Burger King or McDonalds, you will be disappointed. Our restaurants serve local fish and cuisine and are operated by the locals. Fresher fish would be hard to find. There are places to go out for breakfast and dinner very close to our home if you do not want to cook.
Additional information:
Our house is situated on our lot on a 45 degree angle which makes the view from the front window incredible.
We have an extensive DVD collection too.

What an amazing and quiet place! I was looking for something away from the touristy area's of the Outer Banks and this was exactly what we needed. Hurricane Ernesto made it interesting but Brian was in contact with us regularly and helped us get plowed out the first few days until the waves calmed down. The rest of the week was peaceful. I would not hesitate to stay here again in the future.

This is our third year staying a week at Anna’s, and it did not disappoint. The beach immediately in front of the home had quite a bit of debris, but this tends to vary year to year. A great location and home to build wonderful memories in. Brian and Laura are great hosts, and communicate exceptionally well.

Well cared for and thoughtful amenities make this a perfect vacation stay.
The full outdoor shower with hot and cold water was an unexpected bonus.
Very quiet, end of street right at the beach location. One small hill of sand to pop over and you're there.
Everything was clean and all the things we needed were there.
Hosts were extremely attentive even though we didn't require their assistance for anything.
Rodanthe in general is a perfect quiet, not near the extreme touristy spots location. Ten out of ten.

Anna's Cottage is an amazing place to stay ! My husband and I hadn't had a vacation in over 25 years and this cottage was just what we needed and it didn't disappoint. The views from the deck and the huge windows are magical every morning the sunrises were beautiful and we saw Dolphins most mornings. The house is furnished so nicely and everything you need to cook and do laundry if needed is provided. The beach is only a few steps from the deck. The owners Laura & Brian are always available and so helpful. We are so hoping to return. This property is the nicest place we have ever stayed in the OBX. Thank you Laura and Brian for hosting us !

Not only is this property beautiful, in my opinion the perfect location. The view of the ocean outside of the large windows are awesome!! The sound of the waves are truly an amazing sound that can be heard as you lay in bed, the best sleep melody you can ask for.. The house is well equipped with all essentials. It is by far the most comfortable rental I have been in. House was spotless on our arrival as well. This property has definitely become our go to when we return to OBX.I would highly recommend this rental, you will not be disappointed.

This is our family's 3rd stay at Anna's Beach Cottage, we had a great time. The house is just by the ocean, you can see the waves and the horizon right from the living room through the large windows. It was just the right size for our family of 5, my daughters loved the bunk beds. The internet was very strong, the kitchen was well stocked, the furniture was plentiful in the living room for just talking and connecting as a family. We are already looking forward to our next visit.

We had a wonderful time - grandma, grandpa, mom, dad, and 3-year-old. We loved the close access to the beach front and enjoyed traveling to Pea Island wildlife refuge, Kitty Hawk, and the Hatteras lighthouse. This was a great spot to anchor all of our adventures!

My first stay in the outer banks couldn't have been in a more beautiful setting. Laura & Brian's house is simply perfect. We loved the decor, the bin of movies, the views, and the kitchen island is a dream for a larger group to eat around. Owners were very responsive & we loved our vacation

What a wonderful time we had staying at this lovely beach house. It was so nice we hardly left! Why would you need to when the ocean is your front yard and the cottage had everything we could need! There were 3 of us friends and our first time to this area. We went in September and Rodanthe was quiet and laid back. Just what we needed! If you are looking for a relaxing get away this is the cottage for you! Highly recommend!

Our family was much in need of a break from our busy schedules, and the week at Anna’s Beach Cottage met that need. ❤️ We found rest and made some wonderful memories in this beautiful home. The views were spectacular, and the beach was not too crowded, which was definitely appreciated by my crew. Thank you for sharing your lovely home. We are hoping to visit again.

This was one of our favorite places that we have stayed while on vacation. Not only did we enjoy the house and the town of Rodanthe, the owners made sure that we were comfortable in the house and that there were no issues. The house was everything that had been communicated with us. If you want a peaceful trip with a short walk to the beach, you can’t do much better than this. The house was very clean when we arrived and everything worked as it should have. This will be our first choice for our next trip.

Anna’s Beach Cottage was great. It’s right on the beach and if you want to travel the whole OBX it’s in a great location right in the middle. The living room has lots of space for everyone and big windows with a great views from the inside and outside on the deck. The kitchen has everything you might need and has plenty of space for everyone. And it was nice to get pastries the first morning from the owners.

We spent a relaxing week at Anna’s beach cottage. The location was perfect, just steps from the beach, view was awesome, and the cottage was cozy, clean & comfortable. I loved every detail of the decor. Our hosts were most thoughtful in sending the tray of delicious delights our first morning there, they arrived fresh & warm. My husband even indulged me by watching Nights in Rodanthe with me, you had to with the view of the house right there! Thank you Laura & Brian.

This is my families 2nd trip to OBX staying at Anna's Beach Cottage. We afore the home and the views. Perfect is the only way to describe it. Laura is wonderful to communicate with prior to, during, and after your visit. The home is immaculate and literal steps from the beach with gorgeous views. Rodanthe is our happy place and the cottage makes the trip even better. Stayed in Avon on May with friends and longed to be back at Anna's!
Thanks for another great stay!

Absolutely loved staying at Anna's Beach Cottage! It was a lucky find late in the season. The views are amazing! Liked that it's in a quieter town & not so commercialized, but access to activities is just a short drive away. When we weren't on the beach, you'd find us relaxing on the deck. House is well equipped and nicely maintained. Hoping to return next year.

We had a lovely stay at Anna’s Beach Cottage. Because we are a high risk household, we had sort of given up on taking a vacation. When this property became available due to a late cancellation, it was like a gift from Heaven. We were able to fully enjoy the beach while maintaining social distancing. The beach wasn’t crowded at all. This is a lovely, well-maintained beach house with an unbeatable location.

This was my first trip to the outer banks. We chose rodanthe based on this house and just wanting something low key and less populous than what we are accustomed to. The house met, and exceeded our expectations and seemed to have everything that we needed. We visited just about every beach from rodanthe to Ocracoke and had an amazing time relaxing and hunting for shells. There are a few restaurants close, but operational hours are not long, so keep this in mind. Can't wait to come back next year!

This was a return visit for our family and just as good as the first! We love the proximity to the beach (what a view!!) and the short drive to the sound. The house was clean, and kids loved the toys and games. Kitchen has everything you need. Rodanthe is such a beautiful area in the Outer Banks, and Anna's Beach Cottage is a true gem. Looking forward to our future visits!

Anna's Beach Cottage was an absolutely amazing place to stay for our first trip to the Outer Banks! The cottage was well-appointed with everything we could need, including a host of children's toys, movies, and board games! My family had a wonderful time exploring the area and returning each evening to take in the sunset on the deck, steps away from the ocean.
Anna's Beach Cottage is a beautiful home which served as a cozy centerpiece to our trip. I would recommend it to anyone looking for a fantastic home base for their OBX adventures!

We came down to celebrate a 50th birthday and truly enjoyed everything about your beautiful ocean beach cottage. Each morning we looked forward to coffee on the wrap around deck facing the ocean. Just the perfect place to experience OBX!

The home was beautiful and the owners were very sweet. They kept checking with us about the sand that the storm
Had brought up and Blocked the driveway, which we really didn’t care about. It was not their fault and they did everything they could to make sure we had a great vacation and we did!

We unfortunately only stayed one night and had to evacuate due to an insane storm. Severe wind and absolute flooding of the parking area caused us to have to move our cars to the end of the street, hop the stair railing to get to the door because flooding went up to the steps of the house, etc. Very hard for my elderly in-laws, one of which is blind.
It was however, a beautiful and clean home with an outstanding view, and I hated we weren’t able to enjoy it because it was a 10 hour drive for my family and I, but the owners were totally understanding and accommodating and refunded our money in full. For this reason, I gave my experience 5 stars.
We hope to book in the future during a time of good weather because we unfortunately weren’t able to enjoy it in its normal state.

We had a wonderful stay at Anna's Cottage. It was everything and more than we expected! The home is lovely and VERY clean. Everything you need for a week or more stay. Kitchen is fully equipped, we didn't cook much but next time we will! The beach is REALLY just steps away, which was a priority for us. Plenty of beach chairs. Purchased a couple extra umbrellas to use and leave at the house for others to enjoy (there were two there but I like my umbrellas and wanted a little bigger and stronger)! The view is amazing and the full beach side windows allow for enjoying the view, no matter the weather. Laura and Brian were quick to respond the few times we needed anything - more help navigating the Outer Banks, no problems with the property. We loved the adventures that Kitty Hawk offers. We did Paddle Boarding, Kayaking and Hang Gliding with them; so fun! My husband and son golfed two days. Visited the Wright Brothers National Museum, which was so interesting and fun; if you can take the time to visit. Food was great everywhere and the local residents were so friendly and fun. We will be back, so much more to do! With all there is to do, my favorite time was at the cottage and on the beach! Thank you Laura, Brian, Gabriel and Finn for sharing your beautiful cottage with us!
