A beautiful property with a GORGEOUS view!

Our family of 14 thoroughly enjoyed our time at this VRBO! A couple of our best days were spent all-day at the property.

We really enjoyed our stay at this place on Quilcene bay. The location is amazing being right on the water with awesome views of the bay. We had 16 people(8 kids) in our group and we were able to comfortably fit. Marth, the host, is very nice and gave us some great recommendations of stuff to do near Quilcene. I highly recommend this property and can’t wait to come back!

I’ll provide an honest opinion, everything was GREAT!!! Kids loved the cargo net and all the outdoor games ( we had a serious corn dog competition) lol. Plenty of sleeping room for the whole group. Upstairs was extremely hot. Bring a fan, sleep without blankets you will be fine. Jets in hot tub were not working or extremely weak. If you have bad knees or weak heart the walk to the water will be difficult. Suggest to host to store chairs by kayaks so people don’t have to pack them down that trail. Beach is pretty much shells so everyone including dogs should were protection. Had some issues with t.v. But we did not come to watch tv so not a big deal. With all that being said everyone loved the house and what it offered ( bring block ice for the snow cone machine!!!! ( cold syrups in downstairs fridge) lots of seating if the opportunity comes up again we would rent again and we encourage others to do the same… thank you good family memories before everyone gets to old and busy to together.

We had an amazing weekend with a big group of friends this summer!! We enjoyed all aspects the property had to offer! The water was shallow and awesome to float on floaties because it’s so still and you just stick really close to the beach. Bring appropriate shoes to walk on the beach because it’s basically all oyster shells. Two amazing huge decks, yard games and toys, stone outdoor fireplace, really cool net to hangout on, and the hot tub!! Perfect for entertaining with large groups because there are two huge dining tables-one inside and one outside. Comfortable bedrooms and bed situation. Three bathrooms was also a huge plus! Will definitely come back!

We had a wonderful stay in a beautiful area. We enjoyed walking down to the shore, watching the seals from the deck, and eating some meals on either the porch or the deck. The beds were so comfy! We felt right at home in the well equipped kitchen and all the living spaces. Everything was clean and just as we had expected.
The outdoor fireplace, large back deck, and hot tub areas were great places to gather and relax. Wished we could have stayed longer! We would definitely recommend this home for a getaway.

The Hideaway was a wonderful property in a beautiful location. We only get away as a family once a year and this was perfect. The Host Martha was very accommodating and answered our questions promptly. The home is well supplied and we were delighted with unexpected surprises i.e. games, outdoor fire place and an amazing view of the bay.
We LOVED this place!

My family and I really enjoyed our stay at this lovely home! The location made for a perfect weekend getaway, where we hiked and kayaked around the bay. The home is dog friendly and has a lot of space for larger groups. The host was always cheery and responsive with my questions. Highly recommended!

Beautiful water views with seals frolicking below. Well stocked with plenty of supplies. Remote yet within 40 min of Port Townsend. Our family had a wonderful and adventurous time.

A group of us stayed for our annual New Year's get together. The place accommodated all of us and had plenty of additional room, had we of had more in our group.
Super well equipped with plenty of towels, toiletries, cooking supplies etc.
The view from the deck and upstairs is spectacular. Nice trail down to the water and into the woods for some exploring. While the location is a bit
The large attached dining area worked super well for our board games and the kitchen worked great for cooking all kinds of meals.
I would recommend this place for any group or family event.

Myself and 12 other friends stayed here and LOVED it. It's spacious, has LOTS of beds (most are Queen sized), and plenty of outdoor space/privacy. Lots of parking as well, and plenty of space to hang out in front and back of the house.
A few notes:
1) this would be hard with a large group like ours if it was rainy/cold, we spent most of our time outside.
2) the smaller deck that's not attached to the house is....unstable and I wouldn't put more than 4ish people on it at any given time (to the owner: would recommend reinforcing this with some diagonal 2x4s or something, it doesn't feel safe)
3) the net is AMAZING and so fun to hang out on.
4) you NEED water shoes to enjoy the beach, it is mud/silt and has A LOT of oyster shells so you WILL get cut if you don't have the right shoes.
5) the beach is also really shallow as it's mostly where the tide comes in/out, so you'll want a floatie or something to chill out on because swimming is not really feasible.
Owner was great and really responsive. Would absolutely stay here again.

we stayed together with a bunch of college friends and brought our families. It was a perfect relaxing weekend. Our kids enjoyed the many spots to explore and the grownups got a well deserved opportunity to relax and reminisce. We couldn’t have asked for a better settings. The enchanting melody of the seals was the perfect addition.

Our family of eight adults, two children and one dog stayed at this lovely property. We fit perfectly into the rooms and enjoyed the many activities this property has to offer.

From photos we expected a rustic cabin (which would have been fine) but it was much nicer than that. Creatively decorated, very nice bathrooms and kitchen, and spotlessly clean when we arrived. Great views from the house and decks. We enjoyed swimming and kayaking from the beach. The area was serene and very quiet (until the seals started serenading us.) Highly recommend.

The home and property are so amazing! The views are hard to beat! I found myself staring out the windows often! We enjoyed watching the seals from the house binoculars! They make sounds that I have never heard before! I am glad that I knew of their presence before I was outside at night because otherwise their sounds would have been a little unsettling. Martha was a wonderfully accommodating host! She went out of her way to make sure that we were taken care of! We enjoyed the trails that lead to the beach. They are steep but are not that bad given the log steps and us wearing decent footwear. We enjoyed the house decor and outside lighting. We wished that we would have been able to stay a few more days!

Wonderful location with great outdoor spaces. Water was perfect for swimming and kayaking at high tide. Great views from the house and the trees kept things relatively cool considering temps of mid to high eighties outside. Plenty of beds for our group of 13; mattresses were comfortable though some of the rooms were hard to navigate with suitcases and other travel stuff. Loved the long table in the dining room. Main room was comfortable for about eight people at a time.
Would recommend.

We loved this special and very private oasis in the trees and the separate spaces for three generations to relax and play and spend time together. Everything we needed and more. Comfy beds, foosball and ping pong for the cousins, a beach to explore and eagles overhead. Thank you so much. We definitely hope to return again!

For parents:
- There are a lot of ways the host made this property kid-friendly! We have a 2-year-old and we felt that we could easily keep him safe inside the house and on the property. He had a blast exploring the trails to the beach, the river, and throwing rocks and shells into the water. The water is shallow and calm for a long ways into the cove, which made it relaxing to spend time with him on the beach. The bottom level worked out perfectly since the kid's bedroom already had blackout curtains on the window and a large area to set up a pack n'play. It is also separate from the rest of the house for early morning wake ups when we let our friends keep sleeping upstairs:) A few other things worth mentioning: all the wonderful cabin decorations are put on higher shelves for childproofing, the furniture is all very comfy and kid-friendly, there's a tub for bath time, there are so many fun surprises for kids (ex. a slide, lots of big stuffed animals, and lots of rocks to climb).
For people looking for a getaway with friends/family:
This place is a fantastic get away for adults too. The views are incredible and the house is very private. We watched the seals swim from dock to dock and enjoyed the peaceful surroundings. The kitchen is well stocked with all the utensils and tools you would need to serve large parties. There are multiple areas to congregate and let separate activities be happening at the same time (we used one area to play games, the outdoor table for eating, and the living room area to watch tv and talk). One couple brought their dog (who is not good around kids) and we felt there was plenty of space to have the dog and the child play in separate areas - including a great separate sleep space in the cabin. The area out in front of the house can accommodate many cars and still leave lots of space to set up corn hole and enjoy a fire in their huge outdoor fireplace.
One day we went hiking at Mt. Walker (a 15-min drive from the house) and it was a great hike.
Our only regret is that we didn't book the place for another night!
Thank you for a wonderful weekend getaway! We'll definitely be coming back in the future.

We stayed with 14 adults for a weekend retreat. The palace fit us all well and we would re book in a heartbeat. The kitchen was fully stocked for us to cook all our meals in, they even had a crock pot! The dining table was HUGE and made a great space for group meals, games and puzzling. The walk to the beach was beautiful. The hot tub was large and we ended up fitting half of us. We had the fire going outside and s’mores to round out the night. I can’t recommend this place enough!!

Host was available, despite catering a wedding, very kind and provided wonderful advice regarding where to go in the area. We had a relaxing and enjoyable stay. We especially enjoyed the views, kayaking and the harder seals. Would love to return.

We reserved this hime for a 50th anniversary for our parents. We had three generations enjoying all the fun elements of the house and property. Everyone enjoyed the layout and all the amenities. Martha was a wonderful host who was incredibly responsive when we failed to read the clearing stated instructions that were sitting in the house. Recommend this home for any time of the year if you love a quiet, beautiful location that is close to so many other attractions.

We love the remote private feel of the property. I’m in my 50(s) now and still able to hike the stairs to the beach. The location of this quiet and pristine bay is the main attraction for us. We love kayaking the smooth, peaceful waters and observing the king fishers, otters, seals, blue Herron, etc. We also love to nap and hang out together.

Our family get together at the hideaway was wonderful. The only downside was that it went too quickly. The location is quiet with a wonderful view of the water, soaring eagles and seals. The use of the kayaks was a bonus and much appreciated.

Lovely home, thoughtfully decorated, very well supplied. Kitchen has everything we needed and more. Comfortable beds, plenty of towels. The path to the beach is steep and many of the stairs are broken. The young ones had no problem scampering up and down..grandparents, not so much. Water shoes a must for swimming as the beach is covered in oysters. All in all a great vacation.

Family Reunion and 50th Anniversary
The Hideaway is truly hidden away. Though it has the feel of being very secluded and one with nature, the small town of Quilcene is 10 minutes away with some grocery and great restaurants. The photos can't possibly adequately describe this enchanting property. It is warm, cozy, inviting with lots of interesting decor to discover. The large cabin is very well stocked with essential paper products and kitchen items which we appreciated. My family loved observing the seals from the shore of the bay and from the kayaks. They also loved the fire pit, hot tub, game tables, popcorn popper and just being together. What an amazing and memorable 50th wedding anniversary we had with our children! Thank you Martha for maintaining this jewel and sharing it with the VRBO community.

Great spot amongst the trees and on the water
Our group of 6 adults and 6 kids had a wonderful time at Martha's property. We've stayed at many rentals and this had to be one of the most stocked kitchens we've ever seen. Lots of thoughtful details and great communication. The house itself was super clean and had enough space to sleep all of us comfortably.
The bay was quiet and our kids had fun exploring when the tide went out. The nearby harbor seals were hilarious. Though beware they manage to sound like zombies at night :). The deck has a great view. They were also in the midst of building this fun little observation deck that is another thoughtful addition. Hot tub and fire pit also got used.
Overall, highly recommended, thanks Martha!

The house is well stocked with essentials and thoughtful extra touches. It is very clear that the hosts want their guests to have fun and enjoy their stay. We greatly enjoyed our visit.
