About this cabin rental

Inasmuch as we NEVER agreed for VRBO to bill our valued customers and their fees are ridiculously expensive, and we pay them $599.00 per year to list our cabin which we bought with our hard earned money and we also maintain said property, upon return vists, we can make other arrangements to avoid their unauthorized, usurious fees. This does not apply to the initial booking. The property is a cozy cabin on a hillside nestled in the pines with an unbelievable view! This cabin is very secluded, yet it is in the Village of Cloudcroft. There are lovely views of mountain splendor even inside the cabin through the large picture window. There is a spacious deck for relaxing, viewing and cooking and dining!

The living area is an open area which houses the kitchen, dining area and living area. There is a queen sleeper sofa in the living area. The amenities are described herein, however suffice it to say the owners have everything that a lodger needs to have a memorable stay.

The Lodge golf course is a public course. The tee box for the first hole is within a 9 iron away! The course is a blast! It is very affordable and family friendly! Compare to the courses in Ruidoso. The back deck of the house provides an amazing view of the 7th fairway of the Course.

The cabin is next to the road with ample parking. However, the well lighted stairway takes you a good distance from the road where the cabin is in the middle of the woods with a perfect, unspoiled view. Yet, there are stores, restaurants, shops, a gas station, etc. just minutes away.

Great bird watching from the deck where you are level with the tree tops! The lot on the west is a frequent deer hangout and crossing. Elk have been seen crossing through on either side of the cabin as well. It is an amazing place for wildlife. There are houses close by but not next door!

You will be very excited at this cabin and be refreshed after your stay! Thanks for looking!

This is a special nice and cozy cabin, with a wonderful view!! It was very clean, and had everything you needed! It’s in a great location with a beautiful view of the golf course! The elk, deer, and wild horses come out most every evening. We enjoyed relaxing on the deck every morning and evening!! The host checked on us to make sure everything was good!

Everything was perfect. The house had all we needed and more. The best part of each day was sitting on the deck, watching the deer, elk, and wild horses enjoying the golf course to which this property is adjacent. My wife and I are grateful to the owners of this property. Our time here was life-changing.

The property is as advertised - peaceful and secluded. Everything worked except the light on the back deck. The cabin had everything we needed. Would definitely recommend and would stay again. Note: there is no longer any laundry facilities in town.

The house was very comfortable. We loved sitting on the deck and watching the horses, deer, and elk graze on the fairway grass and frolic in the water on the fairway. House was convenient to town but removed from traffic noise and was pretty quiet. We had a minor issue with the TV but the owner was very responsive and we got it figured out quickly. The only other thing is the steep stairs going down to the house. My husband has copd and the altitude was tough for him. He got very out of breath climbing the stairs and carrying our food, cooler down the stairs was hard for us at our senior age (70 & 75). I may have overlooked anything in the property description that mentioned that.

4 days and 4 nites of complete bliss. The house had all the comforts of home with great benefits of a fantastic view, great weather and elk everywhere. We spent 90% of our time enjoying the back deck so relaxing. We cant wait to come back, Thank you, Gregg and Laquita Lubbock, Texas.

My husband and I both enjoyed our recent stay at your cabin. Everything was as explained. The cabin was clean and well stocked. We loved our times out on the balcony watching the golfers and horses. We didn’t see any elk but we did have hummingbirds visiting us. We hope to come back-!

What a great place and great host! Very comfortable cabin with a nice large living area and super comfortable beds! There’s also a great wraparound porch that overlooks the nearby golf course - we saw dozens of beautiful and playful elk on the course as the sun was going down. Throw in an absolutely awesome host who was awesome to deal with and you’ve got yourself a great stay. 10/10!!!

We had a great stay! The place is wonderful and the view is the best. Elk, deer and wild horses running and playing in the water on the golf course was the best! Very peaceful and close to everything in Cloudcroft! We will definitely be back!! Thank you for everything!

We had great communication with the owner of the cabin. The cabin was perfect for our group of four adults. Nice space and a great well stocked kitchen that met our needs. We had snow and the road was a bit tricky with a two wheel drive vehicle. Fireplace was wonderful with a full stock of wood for our use.

Was very happy with property, it had everything needed for an enjoyable relaxing stay. Was close to hiking and downtown. We enjoyed starting our day drinking our coffee on the rear deck. We will definitely stay here again.

I first came to Cloudcroft over Christmas vacation, 1972. I was twenty-four. During that week my (ex)wife and I took skiing lessons and stayed mostly to the easy slope. I’ve probably returned to Cloudcroft a dozen times since. Our three days here have been what they should be when you’re seventy-five and looking for some peace and quiet. Owners have done a great job of subtly labeling all equipment, thermostats, etc. A great, homey atmosphere you have here—as many in your guestbook have earlier attested to. Hope we can come back again and again.

This cabin is ideal. Only complaint is with owner, whom had agreed to give a discount for a several night rental. When the 2nd invoice did not reflect the discount I contacted them, and the husband was perplexed about the discount his wife had made. He then asked me to cancel with VRBO and make a reservation directly with them, since VRBO charges them $600 a year, as well as, a fee per rental, which he felt was exhorbitant. This was awkward and I told him he should market the cabin himself if he was displeased with the VRBO fees. He said he didn't know how. I really didn't want drama or problems in renting a cabin. Had it not been during a holiday weekend and other cabins available, I would have rebooked elsewhere. Owner, please play by the rules....

What an absolute treat and privilege to stay in your amazing home! Leaving DFW’s 107° temperatures and coming to gorgeous Cloudcroft’s 67° was delightful! Then we arrived here at your home! We could not have been more excited, thrilled, and happy! All the rooms were abundantly stocked, down to Kleenex in several rooms. Your kitchenware, glasses, and plates were so very nice! I love that you had a pot from making coffee, and especially that you had a Keurig! That is seldom offered! Our bed was so very comfortable. We loved the coziness of the living room with many blankets that we used! We were blown away, but all the DVD/CD choices. And, I never saw so much storage in a bedroom or bath! All the furniture was warm and inviting. Now, what possibly could be said about this location – WOW! We loved watching the golfers, deer, which was right beside us, and hummingbirds galore! The property was well-maintained, and both the outside and inside of the cabin were extremely clean! They really are not enough words to tell you what a spectacular time we had! We will be back!

My husband and I retreated to the wooded mountains of Cloudcroft for 6 days. We were so touched being immersed in the beauty of the mountain cabin that we hardly left the back porch! The host was perfect and provided a comfortable well equipped cabin for us to celebrate our 50 years together! We will return!

The property was exactly how it was presented. The cabin was cozy and comfortable! It was well stocked and very clean!! I think our favorite part was the view from the back porch. Convenient to downtown yet tucked away in a quiet secluded location. We will visit again!!

Our home away from home for this past week was perfect in so many ways! The hosts are incredible and checked on us and made us feel so at home in their place. The home is tucked back amongst the tall pines with a spectacular view of the 7th fairway where you can watch the elk, mule deer, and wild horses as they rest or drink from the pond. It was something we looked forward to watching everyday off of the relaxing upper deck! The breeze was wonderful and often times made for a nice nap! The sounds of birds chirping and trees rustling truly made for such a relaxing time. Home is decorated so nice and was so clean! It was very close to town and the recommended restaurants were so good! We absolutely LOVED our vacation here and we are ready to go back to this lovely place! It was just what we had hoped for and more! Thank you to our hosts for sharing their beautiful place in Cloudcroft! We will definitely be coming back!

We enjoyed our stay here. The upstairs deck overlooks a beautiful golf course. We saw elk, a horse, and plenty of birds. Very peaceful and beautiful at any time of day. Night golf was a fun surprise to rwatch. There was a full moon that looked like it was so close to us. We enjoyed our time spent in the cute little town of Cloudcroft. We would recommend this place to anyone, but especially nature lovers.

The cabin is absolutely perfect! It was so quiet and we saw lots of deer and elk come by. I have been to Cloudcroft many times but this was my husband’s first visit. He loves the area as much as I do. The owner was very responsive and checked on us via text several times. Highly recommend this cabin.

The cabin was great for our spring break getaway. We appreciated the property owner checking in a few times to make sure everything was good for us. Cloudcroft is such a nice mountain town. We did some hiking in the area and spent our afternoons at White Sands NP. Such a relaxing trip!
