The best part of this property is the ocean view. But, if there are more than 2 of you bring an extra outdoor chair. There are only 2 plastic adirondack chairs on the deck and no table or side tables. We do enjoy sitting outside as much as possible.
The property is dated but beds are very comfortable. New TV was a great addition since our visit last year. We were still not able to get the dishwasher operating. Time to replace it. Kitchen is well stocked with pans and appliances you might need.

Jazz music was playing when we entered and helped to create a calm transition as we unpacked the car with our 2 dogs. Everything was clean and the sunlight made it brighter than in the photos. But the reason to stay here is if you want nothing between you and the waves crashing below except a small patch of grass. Also walkable into town or on the trail to the sandy beach. A perfect spot to unwind!

When we walked in, we were in awe of the spectacular ocean views. It was a cozy little beach house with nice gathering space for us to watch the sunsets from the living room or back deck. Love the dining table, with large windows for ocean viewing. We played many hours of Mah Jongg at that table and enjoyed meals cooked in the well-appointed kitchen. There is a path to the beach just one house over and we enjoyed exploring the rocky beach area at low tide. The house is literally situated on the 804 trail and we walked to the wetlands, the state park and downtown Yachats. Short daily drives took us to Cape Perpetua (a must see!) and the coastal towns of Waldport and Newport. When we had a question upon check-in, the host/management company got back to us within minutes. The place has the feel of walking into your grandmother’s house… not fancy, but so comfortable and inviting. Would definitely stay here again!

We spent two days in this cozy ocean front home with our dog. We were able to easily walk the cliffs along the 804 trail and take a stroll into town. Unbeatable. Excellent and responsive property management too! We'll be back.

I love the location - right on the ocean. Right on the 804 Trail... once you find it. The house is dated, which is only a cosmetic problem. BUT the property management service could have been so much more welcoming and helpful. Most VRBO properties/vacation rentals have a notebook when one enters explaining details about the property including local highlights. Don't expect that here. You have to figure out everything by yourselves. oh yes, they have an "on line manual" which is minimally helpful. I had to scour other local sources for maps of nearby trails, restaurants, other amenities. I had to sit in front of TV and write down all the channel offerings to give to my somewhat impaired husband so he could navigate. One burner on the stove didn't work. It took 10 days of our 2 weeks stay for the dryer to be fixed (and yes, they knew of the problem before we arrived.) My husband managed to get the aged dishwasher to run.... I never could. Cheap toilet seats didn't match toilet color which I realize is only a cosmetic problem but doesn't add to ambiance of what could be a terrific rental. Benefits?? Looking out the picture windows and watching the surf. Bring alcohol..... helps the other problems disappear.

We stayed here for Thanksgiving 2023. The house is steps away from the Pacific Ocean. Amazing to see and listen to! The BBQ grill supplied gets up to steakhouse temps - which made my NY Steaks taste great! There is a beer fridge in the garage which gets very cold for your beers.
To get to a real beach is a hike from this house. All the lovely Oregon ladies were bundled up like Eskimos, so not much sight seeing of the female variety. Lots of different birds land just outside, though, if you are into that.
The house was cleaned very well, and there were enough pots, pans, and things to put on a great Thanksgiving meal for everyone. There were holes in the ceiling in 2 places - the living room and one of the bedrooms. It looked like someone had gone wild with a pool cue. We did not like that.
The chimney also needs serviced. If you get a good fire going by the ocean - one of the best things in life - the chimney does not extract the smoke as well as it should.
Overall, we felt the nightly rate for this place was well worth it.

We loved our stay at this quaint little beach house. Small town atmosphere and great ocean view were perfect for a romantic get away.
We especially appreciated easy access with 4 digit entry code, and texting with property manager. We definitely recommend this property and this management company!

We loved it!!! We’ve stayed in a hotel for years and years when we vacationed in Yachats. This was our first experience with a home rental and we were very pleased!! The privacy was so great!!! So wonderful having the deck so close to the ocean with such a fantastic view!! The house could use some repairs but it was very comfortable and had everything we needed. We definitely want to stay there again!

Within easy walking distance to the center of Yachats, the location of this house is wonderful with views of the Pacific Ocean, tidal pools and access to the 804 trail.
Because of the cool evenings, we were even able to have a fire in the fireplace in the middle of summer.
We'll definitely be back!

First, we all really enjoyed our 4th of July vacation at Beyond the Sea. Spectacular location. Close to everything. I could even enjoy the fireworks from the backyard.
But, the house wasn’t “spotless” and the infrastructure could use a little upkeep. It didn’t really detract from our overall experience, but they are asking 5 star prices for 4 star.
The service overall was 5 star.

My two cousins and I were looking for a place by the ocean as our home base for our Oregon coast trip, and we fell in love with the photos of this house. We could picture ourselves sitting in the kitchen or living room and looking out at the ocean through those big windows. In real life, the house exceeded our expectations!
Check-in was easy - there was a tablet waiting for us containing all the information we possibly could have wanted. Everything was very clean and well organized. The kitchen was pretty well stocked with equipment (I loved the coffee maker with options for a full pot or a single cup). They do specify beforehand that you should bring your own kitchen gear if there's something specific you need - the pans were pretty basic, but they were fine for our needs.
We really loved the nearby 804 trail. We had a beautiful walk along the rocky coast, and we were shocked when we ended up at a huge, gorgeous, pristine beach!
This is not a new, fancy house with a lot of bells and whistles - it's a real, comfy, peaceful place that feels like home. We couldn't have asked for more!

Great property for storm watching and hot tub relaxing. Access to 804 trail a short walk away. Quiet property.

House was spotless. Property managers were really helpful and friendly. Ocean view was mesmerizing. Location was great. Only suggestions - The kitchen is very well stocked with dishes, pans, utensils, etc but there are NO condiments, spices, etc so if you are going to be cooking for yourself make sure you bring all your ingredients. And maybe bring your own lawn/deck chairs if you want to just hang out and relax on the deck as all that is available is some older folding chairs. I would stay here again.

The house was comfortable, clean, and had a spectacular view!! Please get some blinds for the windows, ones that work, they were frustrating. Maybe another chair for the living room and some Adirondack chairs for your deck would be nice. Everything else was perfect. Thank you

Beautiful view. Nice hot tub. Good location. Small. Kitchen could use a little more stock - only salt, pepper and oil spray.

House is older. Bathroom faucet needed to be replaced. Problem with oven not being right temperature. Master bathroom needs some paint. Curtain in dining area broken. Location great. Just needs a few upgrades.

We had a great time at this place; oceanfront property, extremely clean, newer appliances, great check in via tablet (which also contained information about the property and town), completely equipped kitchen.

Our family of 4 had a great time at this cute and cozy property right on the water. Spectacular views. Space small but very functional, including a very well-stocked kitchen. Loved the hot tub, proximity to 804 path/beaches/tidepools, walkability into town. Took the very short drive to Cape Perpetua and enjoyed all the trails and sights there. We were blessed with 50 degree sunny weather in November! Love Yachats and this house. We would definitely return!
There were just a few cleaning issues-primarily that the oven was caked with some kind of burnt food when we arrived, so that when we turned the oven on the entire kitchen became very smoky. I'm sure this was just an isolated overlook on the part of cleaning folks.

My wife and I visited Yachats for our 25th Wedding Anniversary. We had a great stay. The location can’t be beat. The property was homey and clean. We loved our time there.

Wonderful Oceanfront Location in Yachats Village
Beautiful location to enjoy the wonder of the Pacific Ocean meeting rocky outcroppings, watch whales and fabulous sunsets. Two bedrooms and two bathrooms were enough room for four adults comfortably. Walking distance via the 804 Trail to eight miles of sandy beach one direction, and all that is downtown Yachats the other direction - parks, shops, restaurants, etc.

Ocean Backyard!
We loved the view and watching the sea birds nesting! The home needs some updating but it is comfortable and served it’s purpose. A bit of unique Southern Oregon’s friendly culture!

Great, comfy house in fabulous location
We regularly travel to the Oregon coast from MN. This home had the best location, by far - right on the scenic 804 Trail where it goes from city streets to a trail right along the coast, easy to walk downtown, close to Cape Perpetua, great Yachats restaurants and shops. Quiet and you simply can't beat waking up to the crashing waves. Would definitely stay here again.

Great location in need of some updates
This house has an excellent location and an amazing ocean view. You can absolutely while away the afternoon looking at the mesmerizing waves. Getting to the water is a little difficult--I don't recommend trying to get down to the water from behind the house. Instead, just take a short walk along the trail and you will have plenty of water options. The house sits just a couple blocks away from a cute market, shops, and restaurants makes going for a walk even better. The outdated appearance of the kitchen and bathrooms, decorations, general shabbiness, and a little hole in the ceiling in the living room does give one pause. But, the kitchen was very well stocked for those that would prefer to cook their own meals rather than go to nearby restaurants.

Wonderful stay!
A lovely cozy home with spectacular views! We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Comfy beds, a well-appointed kitchen, great showers, and a hot tub to soak in. The walking distance to the village and 804 trail is so convenient! I got some spectacular shots of waves crashing on the rocks.

Good location, cleanliness poor
The location and view were great. The house was quite dirty - dog hair on the furniture and floor, dust bunnies everywhere, food crumbs on chairs. Some missing cleaning items in the kitchen but the management company did respond and drop off dishwashing detergent, dish clothes after we contacted them.

Everything that you need!
This charming rental came with an amazing view of the ocean, accessibility to the water, large patio and best of all, a hot tub! The interior was a bit too cozy for 6 adults. It's a good thing we are such close friends... We enjoyed the movie collection when it was time to kick back and relax after a long day of relaxing. I would recommend this beach house to anyone need a little get-away.

Fun weekend stay
Overall the property was a great place, good location near all of the restaurants and shopping the small town of Yachats has to offer, the amenities were very nice and the place was in good shape. My only complaint is minor, the cleaning crew left an empty dirty clothes bag in the house haphazardly on the floor near the entrance and one of the two wall mounted heaters in the living room area did not operate. The only one that worked was near the entry door. I absolutely loved the view and the neighborhood is delightful. The home was a great backdrop for a wonderful weekend on the Oregon coast, I would definitely stay in this home or another Sweethome rental again, good job overall and good presentation overall.
Thank you,
Michael Hough
