The house is fantastic and has all the space and basic amenities you would want. There is a outdoor deck as well as an enclosed florida room type space upstairs. Close by many restaurants and shops/stores and about 15 mins from St. Augustine historical downtown. Ice cream place down the street as well. The hosts are very nice and very communicative. Highly recommend.

Great eclectic historic beach house. We have an annual family and friends beach week and we have been to this VRBO multiple times because it is great. It is a large house with lots of character. The owners are super nice and the house comes stocked with everything you need. Highly recommend.

This was the perfect beach house for our group. We had multiple families staying with us. A house away from the beach, down a dead end road leading to the beach access ramp. The host were very responsive and helpful throughout our stay. We would highly recommend this house if you are looking for a fun beach vacation. Plenty of family things to do around the area within walking distance.

The house was absolutely amazing! Steps from the beach. The beach was clean and not crowded. Our hosts were amazing! The house was very well stocked and even had beach toys. The house was full of toys, games, and puzzles. If we are ever in Florida again this will be the first place we check out.

Great visit to “grandma’s beach house.” The house itself is spacious enough for multiple families and has a perfect vintage beach aesthetic and nostalgic feel. The location was excellent- literally steps to get to the beach access. Beach was not busy and felt like our own private beach at times. Hoping to book this retro beach house again!

Perfect home for our family gathering including our fur family members.Sunroom and 2 floor living gave us just the right combination of togetherness and separation. Great location - quiet area of beach, pet friendly and easy access. Our host went above and beyond to make us feel welcome and was very responsive... the history of this family home was a bonus.

The decor is 70s which makes it feel a little out of date until you realize that is to make you wonder about the family who lived there in the 70s and had an influence over that area of Florida. Lots of rooms and everything you need and want is there. Best stocked kitchen I have seen in a while. We even found a garlic press.

With mere steps to the beach, this spacious house accommodated our family of ten perfectly. Much time was spent on the enclosed porch playing games, gathering for our meals, and hearing the waves of the ocean. We all wished our week there hadn’t gone so quickly.

Really enjoyed our stay at the Historical Shrimper's House. The layout of the house worked well for our large group of extended family. The Owner (Renee) was very responsive when we had an issue with the air conditioner, and she made sure the problem was resolved the same day we contacted her about the problem. We plan to return next year for another week-long stay.

Family Reunion at the beach

The beach is so close, you can hear the waves crashing. A luscious grass area to play games and grill. A sun porch more than spacious enough for all 12 of us to dine together and play games. A kitchen with space that allowed for several people in the kitchen at once, as well as, stainless steel pots and pans and plenty of fun dishes. The upstairs deck allowed us to secure our outdoor gear and enjoy shade and sun. We felt secluded but could walk a block or two to get ice cream or go shopping. The owners were amazing: easy to reach, turned us on to local thrift stores, provided local information about the area and beach. The house is well set up for enjoying your time at the beach and easy. Accessing St. Augustine was a short drive and full of activities to suit the interest of our family. We all would like to return in the future.

Our group of 11 Adults had plenty of space and the house was cool! The beach was a stones throw away and was beautiful. It wasn’t hard to get Ubers/Lyfts as some said in the comments if you wanted to take a visit to the Old City. There is a supermarket and restaurants/bars very close to the house including a diner and an ice cream shop right up the street. Our favorite part of the house had to be the enclosed deck as it was a great place to hang out for our large group. The hosts were great and we had the best time at this house and wouldn’t hesitate to book here again!

We have been to many vacation rentals, but this is the only one we have been to twice because it is our favorite. It is a huge house, with plenty of places for people to sleep and gather. Its location Is amazing, just one house from the beach and right next to a beach access. It is an older house with a unique layout and large rooms that we love, but it may not be for everyone. Overall it was very clean and well maintained. There is even a huge lawn to play games. If you are looking for a large home very close to the beach for family and friends this is the place is awesome.

When booking the home, I was excited with the eclectic-ness of the house presentation and seeing it in person did not disappoint. Just a stones throw away from the boardwalk entrance to the beach, this historic home easily fit the dozen of us with plenty of room to congregate. You can definitely tell that a loving family raised generations within its walls. There is information throughout the home showing it’s rich history and the family that lived there. The home not only had the basics for cooking but plenty of items to entertain a host could imagine. Since it is essentially a beach home, it also included boogie boards, an umbrella, and other goodies to occupy ones time on the beach. Walking distance to a number of restaurants and a yummy ice cream place (cash only). While it did take a bit of time to pass communication between me and the hosts via messages, we were able to meet our hosts in person and they were wonderful to speak to and gave us information on the house and ideas of places to go around town. The only minor drawback was that on a hot day, the large room with all the windows, which my family called the sun room or Florida room, was very hot. But once all the windows were opened to allow the shoreline cross breeze inside, it was the perfect place to hang out, play cards, and enjoy time with one another. We really enjoyed the house and would love to stay again.

This was a great find! The house was so roomy and everyone felt at home! The neighborhood is perfect! Renee and Aloe were the perfect hosts. We were there the week of hurricane Dorian. They put out safety as a top priority. We have never witnessed such concern and care! We will definitely be back!

The doors were open, we unpacked and went to the beach! The house is perfect for a multi family stay. We had three families with 4 boys. The description of the house was exactly what we got and accommodated the families perfectly. The nooks and areas were situated that no one was disturbed. Was a sad day having to leave today!
