Good location marginal property

Location

Uncomfortable furniture, noisy unit, non working dish and clothes washer, blood stained mattress cover, patio screen and entry window screen broken, stained carpet. This unit in need of TLC. Apparently only care given to unit happens upon complaint . No regard to maintenance. Owner must feel area and lack of similar properties means little has to be done but collect the money and kick the can down the road.

it was clean and neat! great location, just minutes from everything.

the only thing I didn’t like was the hot tub didn’t open until 8am, we had wished it would have been 6am.

Poorly maintained rental. Amenities listed are incorrect.

The location of the unit is fantastic. There is so much walkable. We appreciated the beach items that were included with the rental (boogie boards, chairs, etc ...). The kitchen was well stocked. The internet speed held up well with multiple family members using multiple devices. And the kids loved the pool + hot tub + grill right around the corner.

I can't in good conscience recommend this rental to anyone. First, amenities are listed that the unit no longer has available (or never had), such as a fitness center and heated pool. If you book this, you won't be getting what you think you just paid for. The unit has not been maintained well. I view myself as a pretty laid-back renter. I usually read critical reviews and think, "those folks are just a little picky; we'll be fine" and we typically are. But not in this case. I honestly have no idea how this unit is getting positive reviews and wonder out loud if negative ones are being removed. You'll see that a handful of other reviewers mention the smell. It's definitely there and it's definitely strong, and I'd say it goes beyond the mild mustiness that you often get in rental units with carpet in humid environments. It smells like vomit. If you close the unit up for any period of time, you'll definitely feel the impact. The good news is that Kauai has wonderful breezes and if you open up all the windows/doors the smell does dissipate. Most of the sliding doors and windows in the unit are barely functional. Screens are coming off tracks. Door locks are missing pieces. Paint is peeling off the walls and doorframes. (I'm not kidding, folks - this is real) The shared bathroom is ... stripped down, to say the least. The portable air conditioners in the bedrooms work and are handy to have, but they've been installed haphazardly. Vent framing is literally taped in place. The master bed is a strange beast. I think it's tailored to two different sleepers. One side is firm. The other is absolutely not. Fire alarms are on hair triggers. If you use the stove you will set off the alarm repeatedly. The oven is old - very slow to preheat and inconsistent cooking within based on what rack you use. There's more, but I'm running out of space. Just don't do it.

Exceptional

I loved the comfort and decor. It is a great place to relax and enjoy life. Walking distance to beautiful beaches and driving distance to some awesome adventures. Home was equipped with everything we needed from cooking to a wonderful day at the beach!

Awful

Not much at all.

It was disappointing especially since I traveled with my friends on this trip and their place was so nice just 2 miles away - this was nothing like the pictures online, false advertising, they need to update their pictures online - place was more run down than we expected from the website. no central ac (online showed it was crossed out) so it was humid, the carpet looked dirty and loose, the couches looked dirty. We didn't even use the master bedroom, it was dark and old looking. Several blind slats in the living room were missing, no privacy we can be seen by people walking in the parking lot/sidewalk if we wanted to watch tv in the living room. ceiling fan in the living room didn't work, portable AC unit exhaust hose in the spare room lead to outside of window and window was not secured and left to where anyone can slide open from the outside. Maintenance showed up the next day and took him about 4 hours as he had to first assess issue then go to get materials, (we had to wait before we can go sight seeing that day with our friends) to fix the sliding door cover he took down the vertical blinds and put in temporary curtains, they had to check with owners as he said they're very particular - they should not have rented their place with all these issues in the first place! when we tried to get other options, Alex the rep for Vacasa said there were no other properties available and if we wanted to leave we basically would've ended up paying $900 for our one night stay with the refund he was offering. I ckd Hyatt hotel close by and it was over $600/per night - left us no choice but to stay in this property. it was loud being so close to the parking lot and highway, one of the things i wanted was a patio and i sat outside our first night on the patio and all you can see is headlights, noise from cars and people passing by, not a place for R & R for sure. it was NOT what we expected and for the money we paid was definitely NOT worth it!!

Nice condo, good location

This condo is spacious, clean and fully stocked with everything including most spices in the kitchen and beach chairs with umbrellas. The location is an easy 5 min walk thru the property to Poipu beach or 10 mins to Shipwreck. Shopping is within walking distance as well. A small pool and hot tub are on the other side of the building with a BBQ. Security guards patrol the property at night. we never saw them, but they checked doors and windows and left us a note to keep the slider door shut at night even though we were there.

The condo has the parking lot on two sides. Cars parking made it noisy at times. It has AC in the bedrooms but none in the living room where the pull out beds are. There are fans and a good cross breeze because of the two parking lots, but the door has to be shut at night. it was comfortable in late August anyway.

Great stay! Would definitely stay again!

Pool/hot tub was great. Close walk to the beach and close to a lot of amazing restaurants! The towels, beach chairs, and boogie boards were nice to have as well.

There was a faint smell in the condo (maybe due to high humidity/moisture), especially in the master bedroom.
