I am not one to complain, but this what not what we expected for a family with kids varying from a an age range from 6-16. This property is for young adults who do not care about cleanliness. For the amount of money that we paid to stay in this property rental, you would think the property would be better taken care of. The place is spacious & the view is beautiful from the top deck. The first day we had no hot water. I kept sending messages via VRBO with no response. I had seen with other reviews, the lack of response from the property owner was an issue. Thankfully the men that stayed with us know a thing or two property maintenance. In the disclosure, it states the patio and deck are not child proof. They need to rephrase that. The deck is not safe to all ages! My son and nephew were leaning against the railing.. not climbing.. and the top of the railing fell off. My son and nephew fell off the deck, not the top, but the platform leading up to the top deck. They left with some serious scrapes from the fall. That could have been my mother or father in law, using the railing to get up the stairs. That is what railings are for, support. Again, thankfully the men know a thing or two about fixing a deck railing. Not to mention the entire deck is not to code. It’s illegal now a days to even have those types of decks. With the money you charge per week, I would seriously invest in the safety of your property. You also need a better cleaning crew. Lots of cobwebs. Futon is gross.

We had an amazing week staying at Crew's Hideout. Clean, comfortable, and breathtaking views. The kids are already asking if we can go back next year. Thank you so much for a wonderful stay!

This was the worst rental I've seen on Block Island. I knew we were in trouble when the owner asked to email me separately and sent me a 20 page rental agreement asking for my social security number.
Where do I start...
If you rent the whole house, you can only get to the second floor through outside stairs.
The air conditioning didn't really work and all the vents were dripping water and were black inside.
The hot tub was empty and full of bugs.
None of the windows opened or stayed open.
The dishwasher upstairs was broken.
The floors under all the beds were filthy.
The pillows were old and flat.
The mattresses were plywood.
The outdoor shower was junk, one side was missing a door.
Towel rods broken off rod in 2 bathrooms
Counter stains all over butcher block in both upstairs and downstairs kitchens (that owner is now trying to charge me for)
There's a toilet in the mudroom along with various gross pipes and water pans.
There was this random spout at the bottom of the front doorway that just poured water all the time.
No one told us how to get in the house and was not answering emails. the house was wide open. we could just walk right in. they let me know that 2 days later after we discovered it ourselves.
The only good thing was the sunsets.

Amazing views and sunsets
Beautiful views of the water and sunset, the hot tub is pretty grim though so don’t be lured by that. Rooms and kitchen were nice!

Just what the Dr. ordered
My family and I stayed at the Crews Hideaway this past week. Floor plan was outstanding for grandparents, kids and grandkids. Kid friendly large open yard perfect for nightly wiffle ball games. Set off the rd with paved drive great for little ones to ride their bikes. Open gathering areas inside for family dinners and game nights. Loved the tile floor for easy clean up after the kiddos. The Outdoor showers and hose made for
fast and seamless showering after the beach. The views were magnificent with yachts and cruise ships anchoring in the distance. Visited shoreline at the end of the road great for collecting sea glass and seal watching.
Town beach was a short car ride away with sandy smooth ocean floor and just enough white caps for little ones to enjoy the surf.
Thirteen in our party and never felt crowded. A great investment for family vacation .

Wonderful sunsets
We enjoyed our stay at Crew's Hideout. We spent most of our time out on the second floor deck watching the boats come and go in New Harbor. We rented both floors for our group of nine. Everyone had plenty of space for alone time but both floors are set up for group meals and games.

Awesome Family getaway!
Sunset views were stunning and the spacious yard was fun for volleyball and games. The tiki bar was a fun gathering space for late day cocktails with a beautiful offshore breeze.

Crew's Hideout Stay
Overall stay was great. House was pretty clean, spacious and property and location were great. Overall, a little pricier than what I think is market. We rent in BI every year and loved the place. But I think if I were not renting last minute, I would look around a little bit before renting again.

The Best Sunsets
Our family has spent the last two summers at Crew’s Hideout which has a great location and gorgeous views of the sunset! Although the Tiki Bar and patio is a fun spot to hang out, you just can’t beat the views, especially on the second floor, sipping cocktails, eating appetizers, cooking and eating dinner, watching the sun go down….It is a short walk to West Beach for early morning walks or late afternoon walks along the rocky shore to the North Lighthouse and one mile to Mansion Beach. It is an added plus to have AC on those muggy days to keep bread and fresh fruit from molding. Great place!
