We had a great stay over the IRONMAN weekend. My mother was able to navigate the detours to get from lake placid back to the house during the race. We did not try to get back. The property was beautiful and peaceful. We saw lots of wildlife. Do your groceries before arriving as there is no store besides a small convenience store nearby. There was no WiFi after multiple attempts at resetting the router. Verizon cell service worked but Att was a dead zone. My mom had to leave early because she was not able to work from there. We enjoyed the sauna! I prepared meals in the kitchen and it was very functional. The bedroom upstairs was very comfortable and had 360 views. Very bright in the morning with all the windows but we were up before the sun on race day anyway.
The cold water handle in the upstairs shower for the left shower head is broken, we were not able to use the outdoor shower. It appears to be disconnected. One of the cabinets below the kitchen sink is off its hinge. There is a kennel in the house in the laundry room. We did not end up bringing the dog but he would have loved the property! The smell in the laundry room is very unpleasant due to the kennel in there. Needs a good cleaning. Overall wonderful stay would recommend to anyone who loves nature or a peaceful environment. Large enough for multiple families to stay. Kids loves all of the bunks

This was our first time at Camp Beaver Creek. The setting was great and our family enjoyed the seclusion thoroughly. It was a great place to return to after days of hiking and exploring. Jennifer was very fast and thorough when answering our initial questions. We hope to be able to return again in the future!

We have enjoyed the location and amenities for several years. The new owners are wonderful to work with.
Looking forward to our next visit.

I think this was my 6th time staying at Camp Beaver Creek. It’s by far my favorite of all the rental homes I’ve stayed at. It has new owners managing the property and it was noticeably cleaner and more well stocked than in previous years. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and our dogs loved it, too. My only complaint is that the kitchen garbage can lid is difficult to open. Can’t wait for booking #7!

We took and a friends and family trip to Camp Beaver. We booked the trip ~2 years prior when we learned that there would be totality in Lake Placid. We had four total children and four adults. The property was perfect for us; the grounds were wonderful, and the hosts communicated perfectly ahead of time notifying us of any potential issues. The kitchen had the necessities and then some and the space was very clean. We definitely want to book this house again, hopefully for a summer trip. The location is wonderful, only ~20 min from Lake Placid and a few minutes from Whiteface. you will not be disappointed!

The house and layout are great. Great instructions with the house and super close to skiing/Whiteface mountain and few restaurants. Wish I could give 5 stars as we really liked the property (the radiant floors and hot tub were AMAZING and the view from the master suite of the mountain was breathtaking!), but it just missed the mark for a few reasons. When we checked in there was a sticky note left for us on the fridge advising that the sauna was broken. That would have been nice to know in advance since we were looking forward to using after skiing. We let the owners know of some broken lights in the game room bunks/missing fan remote the day we checked in. And then let them know the next day when we discovered one of the double shower handles fully didn’t work (so no cold water on one side) in the master suite. I sent messages via VRBO app advising of the broken items/issues (just for them to get fixed in future not demanding they do anything ASAP), but my messages were never acknowledged nor responded to.

The house had plenty of room for me & my family. I love that it’s on 30 acres and towards the end of a dead end street. I was able to walk my dog off leash towards the dead end without worrying about traffic.
I was able to find cross country skiing close by in a state park and Whiteface mountain was a short 10 minutes away. Great house in a great location!!

We really enjoyed staying here. Used both the hot tub and the sauna. The owner was very responsive when the hot tub broke down and got it fixed within 24h.
Tons of privacy on the property and very close to Whiteface mountain where we went skiing.
Would recommend to anyone.

We enjoyed our stay but definitely not as advertised. The house must have been vacant for a bit because the amount of flies and mouse droppings was a bit much. A massive bees nest was in the front doorway, they thankfully left us alone. There was no dog area, the surrounding property was a swamp (lots of mosquitoes), the outdoor shower looked unsafe and the water frontage was laughable. It is really close to white face and very peaceful, the hot tub and outdoor fire pit made up for any inconveniences we had. When we stripped our beds at the end the pillows had yellow stains on them and so did some of the mattress pads, that was gross.
Overall we enjoyed the privacy but we would probably not rent here again.

The house was perfect for our family. We wanted to explore the Lake Placid/Whiteface area and the location was perfect. The house was so clean and roomy for our family of 6 plus our dog. We had everything we needed to feel at home yet we had so much privacy! The kids loved soaking in the hot tub every night after hiking. We had one issue with bees and Cameron took care of it immediately. Highly recommend Camp Beaver Creek and we would definitely stay here again.

Our family of 8 came together to celebrate my retirement as a school teacher of 43 years. We had a wonderful time playing outdoor games as well as indoor games. The property was great for both. We had our own mini Olympics! We also enjoyed Lake Placid and the surrounding areas. The house is conveniently located. The house was clean and spacious and perfect for our family celebration!

Had a nice time at camp beaver creek. Great location for peace and quiet but also close enough to tons of outdoor activities. We hiked Whiteface and Bear Den and found a really cool swimming hole in Jay that was only a short drive away.

We were here for a 5 day stay with 4 adults, 5 kids and 2 dogs. The house was clean, spacious and well stocked. It rained quite a bit while we were there and we had room to spread out and play games. There was a double bed in the game room, which was a nice surprise - although it does mean the ping pong table can’t be fully used. The only inaccuracy in the listing was regarding the dog run - it seems there used to be one but it’s since been removed. Not a problem for us as we hadn’t planned on using it. I would definitely recommend bug spray, as it is very buggy (as we expected in a house in the woods). I would definitely recommend this house.

The location is just beautiful! There are no neighbors and your really in a paradise, the house was fantastic within 20-30 minutes from most things so it's not far, I will 100% be looking into this place next visit for ADK!

The sauna didn't work and there were a few minor damages from parties before us, but overall the house was great and everything was very welcoming. Wilmington is the perfect central location to visit Lake Placid, Keene and Jay. Great quiet road. Loved the property and the views.

I’ve been staying at Camp Beaver Creek for a few years now. This was my first time staying in the spring - usually I stay with friends and ski at Whiteface. I love this house and property and will continue to come back. My friends, family and I aren’t fussy people. You don’t stay at a cabin in a secluded, wooded area and not expect there to be mice and insects. Just be aware there will be some droppings sometimes and you need to keep your food stored properly. It’s a comfortable, quiet and beautiful place. Our dogs absolutely loved having so much space outside to run around. The hot tub is brand new and very clean. Amazing stargazing at night. We love staying at Camp Beaver Creek and hope others can enjoy it, too. We might be a little selfish hoping not too many people discover it, though.

This place was infested with rodents and something had clearly died inside the walls, leaving the entire bottom floor with an absolutely PUTRID smell that made the place uninhabitable. We saw mice all over the place and droppings as well. The smell was so bad that we all felt nauseous and had to leave early. The smell of death and something rotting was making us all feel sick and like we couldn’t breathe. Too cold to keep the windows open. I stayed here for my birthday and the trip was ruined because of this irresponsible and unresponsive host. We lost money as well because we had to cut the trip short and had nowhere else to stay. We are SO disappointed to say the least. Do not be fooled by the photos, this place is not well cared for or maintained. The sauna doesn’t get very hot because there are massive holes and we didn’t/couldn’t even use the hot tub because of the intense chemical smell. This is a property that looks good on paper but should be avoided at all costs. I hope I can save you from having a trip like ours. I Informed the host about the problem and he did not care, was unapologetic, just said “yeah there are mice in the country” and then proceeded to ignore me. YOU SHOULD NOT CHARGE CUSTOMERS MONEY FOR A PLACE INFESTED WITH RODENTS. We had a 7 month old baby with us and had to leave because of the safety concerns and the absolutely putrid rancid smell (we could not even sleep in the bedroom it was that bad)
I use other vacation rental sites all the time and have NEVER had a an issue or bad experience and I always leave hosts glowing reviews. I will never be using vrbo again - this was an awful property that was unmaintained and unrepresented. I really hope this doesn’t happen to anyone else - AVOID AT ALL COSTS.

This is our second stay at Camp Beaver! We enjoyed taking the gondola up Whiteface Mountain (the granddaughters especially) enjoyed a campfire, a ferry ride to Vermont to “Queen City Brewery “ to have awesome beer and see family, then a trip to Lake Placid to celebrate our daughter and son in law’s 7th anniversary! Ours 36th is today!
The place is as described, beds are comfy, place is clean and the hosts are easy to work with and prompt at answering any question/problem we had!! Definitely a fun filled few days, the girls are asking to come back already!!

Had a great time at this property. The cabin was spacious and the property was large and secluded, complete privacy from neighbors. The skies were incredible at night and the views during the day were fantastic.

Perfect setting and location to get away, relax and enjoy.
Property was in an excellent location; secluded enough to enjoy the wilderness of ADK, and yet all the activities and entertainment is close by.
We'll definitely return!

We were two families sharing the house together, and there was plenty of space for all of us. The views in every direction from the property were food for the soul, with a painting-worthy view just feet from the end of the driveway. A few items in the house had seen their better days and there were strangely quite a few flies both in the house and just outside of the house by the front door, as other renters have mentioned, but the rooms and bathrooms were super clean and the kitchen is very well stocked with everything you need. The outdoor shower was a really fun and unique bonus because of where it is located. Beds were comfortable, water pressure was great, huge yard for whiffle ball, and we enjoyed the large fire pit area next to the hot tub.

The home is just as the listing portrays and better. We had a great week there and will keep this on our list to stay again. Thank you!

My family and I were in town for the week. We had some things going on in Lake Placid but don’t really like being in the hustle and bustle of LP. It wasn’t that far of a drive and once we got back to the house we heard and saw no one. Very private and remote, it was also perfect for our dog who loves to run free. The house was well maintained and the AC units were huge for this week as it was often in the high 80’s. Great trip,

Awesome Ski Weekend & Lake Placid Hockey Tournament
Cameron and Denise were amazing to deal with, were extremely flexible when our plans changed and very accommodating to our tournament timing.
I wish we had more time to just hang at the house and on the property - both are so amazing. The house was nicely decorated and had everything we needed and more. The upstairs bedroom suite is gorgeous and the views are beautiful. With the handy telescope I was able to see the mountain where my kids were skiing! The location is perfect for skiing and downtown Lake Placid fun. The property had no snow when we arrived due to the warm weather, but lucky for us a snowstorm hit and we woke up to a winter wonderland. The hot tub and the sauna are such a treat after a long day of skiing or sitting in a cold ice rink! Everyone had a great time - we will be back for sure.

Perfect Adirondack getaway
We chose this place to spend our honeymoon & we couldn’t be happier! Has everything you need for a relaxing stay. Waking up to the sight of Whiteface mountain each morning brought so much joy. Unforgettable experience. We can’t wait to return in the warmer months ahead!

Camp Beaver
Camp Beaver was awesome - we had a blast and the house was very nice, we were all very comfortable. It was very cold outside and the house was unbelievably warm considering the outdoor conditions. We were mostly there to ski whiteface and the house is really close which was great.
Some things in the house were pretty busted up, likely from irresponsible renters... but the recliner chair in the common room was broken, the ping pong table was destroyed, and the cover for the hot tub was bad news. If you don't have at least 2 strong grown men to take it off/put it back on, no one is using that hot tub. It also had a moldy smell because its ripped and stays waterlogged. I had a couple questions I wanted to ask the owners but they never called me back, which wasn't a big deal, but it would've been nice if they could've replied.
Besides those minor things, camp beaver was perfect and we'd definitely stay again for a ski trip.

Great stay and great location
We had a great time at this very clean property. It is 10-12 minutes from Whiteface and only 25 mins from Lake Placid. We had a great time.

Perfection
My friends and I love this place. It has everything we need and more. No neighbors, so tons of privacy. Huge, beautiful property with lovely sunrises and sunsets and a great view of Whiteface. It’s close to the resort which is ideal. We LOVE the hot tub and sauna- especially after a long, exhausting day on the slopes. The beds are comfortable. The house is clean and stocked. The owners are very helpful and communicative. This was our second stay here, and all I can say is, I hope this home is available to rent for a long time. We will always come back!
