About this bed and breakfast
This guest house / studio apartment is on our fenced property close to Mesa, US-60 and Loop 202. The building is separate from the main house in which we live. Distance between the 2 buildings is 44 feet. We are home most of the time and can easily be reached.
ABSOLUTELY NO PARKING IN FRONT OF THE GARAGE!
Please park on the gravel at the left side of the garage.
This is not a one bedroom apartment with a separate bedroom but a small studio with a pantry kitchen and a queen size bed. Pantry kitchen features a countertop stove with 2 burners, a Keurig capsule coffee machine, microwave, mini oven and an espresso machine. Keep in mind that this is not a full kitchen and not suitable for large meals. Appliances can only be used individually since they are on a single 20 amp breaker. Small 110 volt washer-dryer combo in the bathroom. This machine is for small loads only. Dryer takes more time than a regular 220 volt model. This machine is a little bit noisy. Quiet Samsung refrigerator with icemaker. This place is very quiet, safe and private. High speed internet access during peak season (Nov., 1st to March 31st) No Internet during the rest of the year. TV with local channels. No cable TV but there is a Voice controlled Roku Express+ (Smart TV). Not suitable for pets. Since some guests are allergic to animal hair, we don’t make exceptions.
Guests receive gate opener and the key upon arrival. Guests will be responsible for lost key or lost gate opener - if key or gate opener is not returned. Guest agrees to pay $45,- for a new lockset (for the main door and the security door) if he/ she loses the key. Guest will be billed $ 50,- if the gate opener is not returned. This includes the cost of installing new locks and reprogramming the gate opener. This is for our safety and the safety of other guests. We don't want any guns / firearms on our property. Guest will not carry any firearms on the property and advise visitors of our firearms policy. Absolutely no smoking inside the studio but smoking is ok on the patio or anywhere outside.

In town to finalize a move and this studio was the ideal place to stay. The bonus was the hosts allowed us to park our 20 foot enclosed trailer on site which most VRBO's wouldn't allow. This gave us peace of mind. Thanks Steve and Suki!

We were in the Apache Junction area to celebrate our niece’s wedding. Just needed a place to ‘hang our hat’ in between events, fix a few meals and do laundry.
Unfortunately we were not able to use the laundry facilities advertised without the GFCI breaker in the bathroom cutting out.
Steve came in and checked…thought maybe our load was too big. We tried with one article of clothing, it still cut out. We were able to do laundry at our friends nearby and also at my sister’s home after the wedding, but it would have been nice to be able to use the facilities advertised.
The yard around the casita was not maintained. It was overgrown with weeds, probably because of the amount of rain this year. But it sure would have been nice to have a place carved out to sit in the sunshine!
The skylight in the bathroom was pretty moldy. Probably because of the amount of rain and humidity this year.
Overall we were comfortable and felt secure with the gated area. Steve and Suki were helpful and available. Thanks for your hospitality.

Steven was very accommodating and responded quickly to any questions. It would be nice to have more towels in the studio but Steven did offer us clean ones once. Washer is small and worked well. Dryer was not even warm and could not dry the towels. There was a drying rack to use but clothes dried slowly.

The unit was excellent but the outside yard was unattractive

The property was very clean. An improvement can be made in the check in process. I was not able to get an answer until the day I traveled. Other VRBO properties I have rented I was provided with a three ring binder listing how to operate the heating/cooling, and any other information to make my stay uneventful. It would have helped to have known that you cannot work the washer/dryer and/or the outlet in the bathroom at the same time. It caused the fuse to be blown. I felt I was having to contact the owner daily with questions.

Lovely house with plenty of room for a family with three large comfortable bedrooms and two large bathrooms. A few minutes outside DT Waco makes for a convenient place to stay. It was fun to be located on the farm. Loved the friendly cat that greeted us like family when we parked our car. Very clean and had all of the amenities we needed. Thank you!

The floors were very dirty and I washed them.
It was almost impossible to communicate with them and they were far from friendly. They did not even greet us when we came through the gate. We tried to make the best of it and we did as we were gone all day all of the days.
The wi-fi rarely worked.

This is a lovely property! Our hosts Steve and Suki are so accommodating!!! Our original stay was supposed to be in June but COVID happened and we couldn't come down to beautiful Arizona. We had to cancel outside of the cancelation period and would have lost all of the money we had paid. Steve and Suki were so great in working with us. No money lost and a fantastic vacation in our happy place is now in the books! Fast forward to October here we are. Staying in a lovely little Casita on gated property. We are seriously right where we wanted to be! Closer to friends and close the the Superstition Mountains. An absolutely beautiful property. It has everything you need and even some things you didn't know you needed like the quiet peacefulness of the yard, the birds and other animals that visit and the stars in the sky at night! Stay with Steve and Suki you won't be disappointed.

Bird watchers delight
Pictures are an accurate depiction of how the property looks with the exception of the dining table on the patio that wasn't there during our stay. The queen bed was comfortable. Kitchenette had everything needed to prepare our breakfast meals. Bathroom was surprisingly spacious. The studio had plenty of storage for all our items. Steve was quick to assist with our questions/requests during the settling process. Even though the main house is 40 ft away, Suki and Steve were respectful of our privacy as well as gracious hosts. Looking forward to visiting this property again. As noted in the title the number of bird species on and around this property are numerous and very fun to watch and listen to. The Chorus of Mourning Doves was particularly entertaining.

Birdland
Who knew so many birds live in the desert? This cute little studio apartment with an incredibly comfortable bed, sits on a desert yard filled with bunnies and birds which start singing every morning. A lovely, comfortable place located in the quiet northeast corner of the Phoenix metropolis near the Arizona Renaissance Festival and the Lost Dutchman sites.

Excellent choice
My boyfriend and I really enjoyed ourselves here. The space was very home-like and well furnished, especially with kitchen utensils. A bonus feature was the grapefruit tree by the front door that the hosts allowed us to pick fruit off of. We felt it was private enough in spite of being located approximately 40 ft from the owners' house.

As advertised
This is a nice studio that mirrored the description for a very fair price.
The owner communicated quickly and professionally. The check in process is smooth.
The home is in a very quiet area and we enjoyed the covered patio. The location was perfect for visiting friends in Mesa and Apache Junction.
Our only complaint was we felt th bed is ready to be replaced.
All in all, for the price, this is a good place to stay.
Thank you.

Very Nice Place
I was very happy with this place! This rental was extremely clean. Everything I needed was there for my use. The property is in a nice private area away from main roads, so it was quiet and relaxing. Theres also a gate, made me feel very safe! The owners home is close by so they are readily available if you need any assistance. I didn't have any issues, check in was fast & easy. Very nice studio with comfortable Queen bed & a pull out couch. Kitchen is stocked with coffee. Big beautiful refrigerator! Bathroom is lovely. No complaints from me! I would reccomend this place for one or two people. Thank you!

Our quiet home away from home!
We really enjoyed the quietness of the location. The gate entrance gave us a feeling of security.
The bed was very comfortable. The heating and cooling system was very easy to use and was very comfortable. The little kitchen had all we needed to fix our breakfast. The shower was excellent. All in all it was a delightful stay

AJ Stay
The small garage apartment was lovely and spotlessly clean. The bed was awesome, very comfortable and we were grateful for the extra pillows. We enjoyed the covered patio for sitting and reading out of the hot February sun. To the owners Steve and Suki…we have a couple of minor suggestions: extra hand towels for bathroom and dish towel are needed for kitchen as well as a couple potholders. If those things are there and we missed them, please ignore. You have a lovely place to stay!! Thank you!

Ok for a short stay
Overall, i was a little disappointed. The space is small, not suitable for more than 2 people. You should realize the bed, couch and kitchen are all in the same room. We had planned to do some simple meals but were disappointed. We were not able to use the toaster oven, it would barely heat when we tryied to do an oven meal. We had a hard time lighting the bbq grill, then could only get one burner to stay lit. It took forever to grill a steak. I was particularly hoping to use the patio but was a little uncomfortable as the rental is right at the owners back door. It just felt a little close for me. The property felt very safe as it was fully fenced and gated.

Quiet
It would be helpful if there were instructions for the Roku and antenna tv. The washer/dryer didn't work but the owners were kind enough to give us a gift card, offer to wash the sheets and offer to send a repair technician to repair the wash machine. Very concerned and helpful in any way they could.

Typical mis-representation.
As soon as we entered the property we did not feel safe. We were afraid to leave our personal belongings behind if we went on an outing. Owners were very evasive and had a scary demeanor. Electrical appliances could not be used due to electrical overload. No oven, just hot plate and microwave, toater oven.(they had to be used separately) Owner said that you could only wash (4 pair of underpants ) ! Huh ?? And it will take many hours to dry. We had to communicate through text, and they would not even answer their door and they lived 40 feet away. There were miscellaneous junk cars and construction supplies around. When we approached him about the problems the owner called the cops and kicked us out . The cops were very professional and told us that this happens alot around this area. Moved in and out within 2 hours and found a much better place. I would not recommend this to anyone.

Peaceful and Private Retreat
Overall I had an A- experience staying here, and I would highly recommend anyone wanting a quiet, private, peaceful get-away to stay here. Located within a gated property, the little guest house feels safe, and even though the property owners house is just right in front of the guest house patio, one still feels a sense of privacy due to the lovely garden...with fresh oranges and grapefruit trees....separating the two buildings. I found the hosts to be accommodating and responsive to my inquiries via texting, without being overly friendly or intrusive. I stayed four nights and found the guest house contained all I needed for a comfortable stay....from the nicely stocked kitchen to the super comfortable bed and cozy, soft linens. There were a few minor things that would have made my stay a solid A+...some Cloth kitchen towels instead of just paper towels for instance...but nothing that would keep me from returning. I would caution that while the guest house does technically sleep 4 with the queen size bed and sofa pull-out, I think the overall size and amenities offered within the guest house are really only suited for one or two people at best. The location was perfect for me... within a mile or so of all my shopping needs...but far enough away from the noise of the city. Overall I would say, you cannot beat the value for your money by staying in this guest house, and I will definitely consider staying here in the future as I do visit my family several times a year in the greater Phoenix area.

Our autumn stay in the desert.
We truly enjoyed our visit to the Phoenix area, with this comfortable place as our home base. Close to the routes we needed to explore various sites, the Apache Junction property offered a quiet and secure place to come home after exploring.
