We found the house to be homely, big enough for a large group with room to spread out. Large kitchen with dining table, a large and comfortable sitting room. The bedrooms were nicely furnished and the bathrooms all functioning perfectly. It has a lovely back garden with a large table, BBQ and a green lawn. The views of rolling hills and the peaceful setting made this place an ideal base to unwind after busy days out.

We stayed at The Stables over the bank holiday weekend in August. The house was very well equipped, accommodating and situated in a very tranquil area with lovely views. The bedrooms were spacious and there were enough bathrooms for the 12 of us. The hosts were extremely helpful and kind, especially to us when we arrived. It was nice also to be on a working farm!

The Stables we perfect! We were a group of 12 friends there to celebrate 40th birthday and the cottage was just perfect for that.
The kitchen was excellently equipped and the table that could seat us all was amazing.
The lounge, even though spacious also felt cozy, and again plenty of seats for everyone, access to a garden was also a bonus.
The rooms were comfortable and worked well for our party with so many twin rooms. The bathrooms were spotless and there were so many no one had to wait for a shower!
Overall, the place was perfect for us and the surrounding location was stunning. So even when some of us got a bit lost on a run, it didn't really matter!!

Stayed at the stables with three generations from 62 too 1. Found the property idea for our stay with the grandchildren loving the farm. The owners of the property couldn’t do enough to ensure we had a great holiday, to the point when the microwave died on us, the owners had a replacement with us in around 30 min. We will definitely be returning to the stables as one of the nicest holiday property’s for our large family in have found in the area

Lovely cottage, perfect for a large group.
Lovely cottage, perfect for a large group. It was well equipped and homely and I’d certainly recommend it. The owners went out of their way to make us welcome. The cottage was surrounded by beautiful countryside with plenty of options for walks from the cottage.

We had a wonderful time at the Stables.
We had a wonderful time at the Stables. There were 14 of us plus a dog, 2 x Grandparents, 3 x Parents and 6 x Grandchildren. There were lovely walks across the farm and we could feed the pigs and see the cows being milked. Dorset is a beautiful county with many lovely resorts to visit, which we did but we could easily just have stayed on the farm with plenty of space for the Grandchildren to play.To wake up in the morning and look out over the beautiful landscape was fantastic - nobody wanted to go home. The hot water and central heating were a bit hit and miss sometimes but we were never cold and the log fire of an evening was a super bonus. We try and have a family holiday every year and this is one place that we would love to go back to.

We had a family weekend at the cottage in February and had a great time.
We had a family weekend at the cottage in February and had a great time. There was plenty of space for our group of 8 adults, 2 children, 2 babies and dogs. The owners were very accommodating and friendly (the Victoria sponge cake was very tasty). Everything we needed was provided. There are good walks direct from the property and many more locally. There are small village shops within a few miles and a pub a couple of miles away, but if you need a supermarket it’s a trip to Dorchester. The setting is beautiful and a small stream runs across the attached paddock. The trade off for the lovely countryside and peaceful surroundings is having to drive along single track lanes shared by tractors and lorries to get anywhere (unless you’re a serious rambler) but that didn’t spoil it for us. We would highly recommend.
